How can I fix this . Please help .

Thanks for Reply .
It is Windows XP Profesional  5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 operating System . The machine  has limited user rights , not administrative rights.
Per your suggestion re-registered cwui component Version 6.0.3.589 by loging in as Admin , but no luck ..still it crashed
Application is using graphic display & chartX and ChartY function from cwui component to create graphic display .Display data from our app is passed by using safe array.
We tried changing  reducing  frequency of display update, tried performing operation in mutually exclusive mode , ie critical section . but no luck so far.
Graphic display in our app can be run at 2 frequencies 1HZ and 5HZ .If user sets display at 1 hzs it runs little longer and then crashes down .
In case of 5 hz crash can be seen  more frequently.
How can we prevent cwui crashes . Please advise ...

  • Program crashes when using Cwui.ocx controls

My program (using controls from cwui.ocx) runs without any problems on Polish version of NT (on Win2K also). When I try to create any controls on German version of NT4.0 (SP 6.0a, VS C++ 6.0 with SP 5.0) it crashes imediately. Why? ( of course cwui.ocx was registered in OS using regsrv32).

    Greetings!!!
Thanks for using the Developer Zone here at National Instruments. We really are proud of this forum and appreciate our customers using it to help one another as well as to talk to us here at NI about what is going on with their applications.
Right away, I can tell you that Polish and German OSes are not readily available to most of the Application Engineers that field your questions. What I can recommend doing is this: go to www.ni.com/ask and send in an e-mail to one of the engineers here. Include as much information, and maybe even your code, if that is at all possible. If they do not find an immediate solution, which I haven't been able to locate thus far, they will be able to get a hold of the R&D department to see if they can evaluate t
    his issue.
Off hand, it seems like an OS conflict, but R&D will be able to confirm that for you. So, I would recommend pursuing that route and we will endeavor to get your issue addressed as quickly as possible.
Thanks again for your support of National Instruments!

  • How to register cwui.ocx in Windows 7

    Hello,
I'm having trouble installing cwui.ocx (from Measurement Studio) in Windows 7. The software for our product was developed with Measurement Studio for Visual Basic V. 6. When I try to run it in Windows 7, I get the message "Can't load (or register) custom control cwui.ocx".  My software, including cwui.ocx, installs and runs correctly in Windows XP.
SETUP.LST specifies the path as follows:
    File21+1,,cwui.oc_,cwui.ocx,$(WinSysPath),,$(Shared),8/1/2001,2301952,66.0.3.589
Any suggestions for a fix for Windows 7 would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Howdy Richard,
I copied over the cwui.ocx (and its dependencies), from MStudio 8.1.2.143 to a machine with Windows 7 installed. I then manually tried registering the ActiveX control using Regsvr32.exe cwui.ocx. It failed with errors if I did not run the command prompt as an administrator; once I ran the command prompt as an administrator and then registered the ActiveX with administrative access, it registered properly. Thus, I believe this's a permissions issue.
Confirm that you're running all of this with Administrative privileges (Windows 7 is very particular about its permissions for each program), and I bet that's the culprit.
    Hi
I'm having the same problem with another *.ocx file. Could you tell me how I can check the its dependencies before copy pasting it?

  • Memory Leak in cwui.ocx (graph control)

    Hi!
I'm using cwgraph control (cwui.ocx V2.0.3.413) in VB6. Once I have assigned the graph properties to set UI appearance, I sent 2d arrays to update the plot only (either .plotY or .ChartY, doesn't matter). The application then consumes more and more memory. When I comment out the .plotY or .ChartY code line the problem disappears. So it seems to be a memory leak in the cwui control. Who can help?

Keep in mind that the graph keeps its own copy of the data that you pass in via the Plot/Chart methods. It has to do this for several reasons, like if it needs to repaint or you want to pan the data. This could explain what you're seeing if the memory usage is comparable to the amount of data that you're passing in via the Plot/Chart methods. If that's not the case, please post a small test project that demonstrates the problem. Thanks.

  • Can I PlotIntensity in CWUI.ocx?

I'm using CWUI.ocx in my application.
And I want to plot my data for intensity(like to PlotIntensity in CVI's Graph control function.)
Can I PlotIntensity in CWUI.ocx(CWGraph control)?
    Please answer me.

Intensity plots are not supported by the CWGraph control, but you can do it with the CWGraph3D control - see Plotting Intensity Using a Measurement Studio 3D Graph Control for more information.

  • Flash9b.ocx crash once again

    Hi, all
I'd really like to see an official message from Adobe
concerning the issue with Flash9b.ocx crashing in IE. Surely they
must have received a lot of messages from disgruntled users.
I work for an online newspaper and we have several hundred
thousand page impressions every day. And for lots of users our
front page causes the Flash player to crash. It's practically
impossible to isolate which banner ad(s) that will lead to a crash.
My theory is that there are certain ActionScript commands
that are handled in a different manner in the new player, while
swfs that contain only animation will work.

    SOLUTION:
    Copy: "...windows/system32/macromed/flash/flash9b.ocx"
Paste: it as a copy of flash9b.ocx then...
RENAME: the COPIED FILE to "flash.ocx"
IMPORTANT: do not delete the original flash9b.ocx just make a
    copy of named "flash.ocx"
This "fix" has worked a lot of people that have programs or
screen savers that look for the original flash.ocx file which it
can't fine causing in some cases for I.E. to close and the
    resultant error message.
When the origin and the mechanism of the crash
known this is a very simple idea. I'll try it and hope it shall fix
    the problem.
But I don't understand this: This error occurs allready since
end of January or begin of february 2006 on my computer, visiting a
lot of sites. I spent allready very much of time trying to solve
followed problems. I wrote allready an email to Adobe support and
got not any perheaps only formal politeness answer, not to mention
any suggestion of trying to fix it. I don't know what does this

i'm a student in VietNam, i learning Visual Basic and LadView 8 (evaluation) , i use Measurement Studio user interface (UI) control in Visual Basic (file cwui.ocx and mesa.dll of Ladview ) but  (UI) control will stop later 5 minutes. please share to me file cwui and mesa.dll to support my study
    Thank you very much.

    Hi cwui.ocx,
I am sure that you are seeing the behavior because you don't have a valid license for Measurement Studio.
Do you have a valid license?
If you verify that you do have a valid license by sending your serial number to [email protected] then I can send you the licensed copy.
Otherwise, you will have to purchase Measurement Studio to get this control in VB.
To obtain a license, if you don't have one, you can contact you local sales rep: http://www.ni.com/niglobal/

  • Flash Player OCX Crash in Internet Explorer

    Hi,
I develop e-Learning and this is predominantly displayed in Flash. I have developed a flash engine that handles and interpretes XML for displaying the content. All works well...most of the time
However more often than I would like there is a serious enough crash (I.E. Error Flash.OCX) that will stop the browser dead and shut it down. Now my issue at this stage is not so much why it happens but more how can I report it to Adobe and get some support in order for me to investigate if the problem is in my engine?
Can I get an official response on the steps I should take please?
    Thank you

    From Windows 7 Diagnostics...
Windows 7 prompted me to uninstall and reinstall Adobe Flash update.  I believe it reinstalled the same version of Flash.  It then referred me to Adobe Support article:
Flash Player support on 64-bit operating systems
    Issue
Adobe Flash Player is not supported for playback in a 64-bit browser. However, you can run Flash Player in a 32-bit browser running on a 64-bit operating system.
    Reason
Adobe is working on Flash Player support for 64-bit platforms as part of our ongoing commitment to the cross-platform compatibility of Flash Player. We expect to provide native support for 64-bit platforms in an upcoming release of Flash Player following the release of Flash Player 10.1.
Note: To participate in pre-release testing of 64-bit Flash Players see Adobe Labs.
    Solution
To use Flash Player to view Flash content on a 64-bit operating system, you must run a 32-bit browser.  For details on setting this up for Windows see Microsoft Help & Support.  Microsoft support is not very helpful in helping determine whether or not I was using a 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit instance of Internet Explorer.  I right-clicked on the Start Menu shortcuts and traced the location of the files to their respective folders.  My default [Start Menu] instance of Internet Explorer 8 points to the x86/32-bit version of iexplore.
Once I confirmed my default browser was IE8 (Under Program Files (x86) > Internet Explorer > iexplore.exe), I was able to successfully launch the replay of the webcast I was attempting to view.  It remains to be seen if this issue has resolved the problems I was experiencing with viewing the "live" webcast.

Hi, In your IE9 manage addons, is Shockwave Flash Object Enabled? If not, Enable it.
, and check the version number since it should be the same as the Flash Player version Installed.
Also, one of the new features of IE9 is the ActiveX Filtering. Try turning if OFF and see if that corrects the issue.
    To turn on ActiveX Filtering
In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, point to Safety, and then click ActiveX Filtering.
To turn off ActiveX Filtering on a specific website
In Internet Explorer, click the Filter button in the Address bar, and then click Turn off ActiveX Filtering.
To turn off ActiveX Filtering on all websites
In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, point to Safety, and then click ActiveX Filtering.

  • Flash9b.ocx Crash

I am getting a crash in Flash9b.ocx 9.00.28.0 (everytime the
control loads) with Internet Explorer 6 and Windows XP Profession
SP2 (and I think I had the same issue with Flash Player 8 too). It
appears to be an "invalid opcode" exception on an "emms"
    instruction (at 0x300511F5 when the module is loaded at 0x30000000;
I could tell you more with symbols and/or source). The machine is a
Pentium Pro 200 MHz system with 256 MB of RAM. I know this system
does not support MMX. I am also aware this is the below the cited
system requirements of a Pentium II 450 MHz or better. Does Flash
Player 9 even have an MMX incapable code path? Even if it does not,
it should be noted I received no errors on install or at run-time
(unless you count the crash itself). I think it should probe for
MMX support and give a message at least instead of just crash
(Note: a Pentium Pro is a Family 6 processor without MMX support so
you should probe for MMX and not just processor class).
Besides the obvious bug, if Flash Player does not support my
platform at all (even unofficially) what are my options? I noticed
Flash Player 7 did not have any processor requirements (though I
imagine it requires at least a 386 for Win32 support). Of course I
also noticed Flash Player 7 is no longer supported at all too(only
9 and 8 seem to be currently supported).
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello,
In another thread titled "Flash Player 9 crashes Internet
    Explorer 6"
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=44&catid=184&threadid =1236801&enterthread=y
I described the exact same symptoms as yours.
I too arrived at the same conclusion as you.
I believe that since my Pentium II (200 mhz.) does not
support MMX technology, then that explains why Flash Player 8 and
newer always crash the first time I visit a webpage supporting
    Flash content.
I am wondering if the reason Flash 8 and 9 get installed
without alerting the user that their CPU does not support MMX is
because there is no flag in the Windows configuration file to
indicate that this is the case.
If such a flag exists and is incorrectly set, then perhaps by
changing it, then Flash Player would load with an alternate set of
software routines to mimic the missing hardware instructions.
I am trying to find out more about how the installation of
Windows goes about detecting and advertising the presence or
    absence of MMX.

  • Flash9f.ocx crashing IE v.6 and Opera

Since about December, both IE v. 6 and the latest versions of
Opera have been crashing when presented with Flash material - most
notably on the Adobe.com home page when showing the blue/gray
skyline ad for Acrobat. For IE, the error message is "an unhandled
win32 exception occurred in IEXPLORE.EXE". The Visual Studio
debugger shows that it was due to an illegal instruction in
    Flash9f.ocx:
    pshufw mm1, mm0, 0E4h
I've uninstalled, manually scrubbed the registry, scrubbed
C:\WINDOWS\system32\macromedia and adobe of all content, shutdown,
restarted, shutdown, restarted, re-installed Flash Player - and the
crashes have persisted. I tried updating the display adapter, but
Device Manager reports that I have the latest version. Now why the
*ell is Adobe coding Flash Player to use an illegal instruction?
(My PC has a PII cpu and it runs XP Pro/SP2.) And is there a way
    around this?

  • Flash player ( SA  and ocx ) crash at offset 000c3665

    Hi all,
    I keep running into a player crash ( SA 9.16 and ocx 9.45 )
consistently at offset 000c3665 ( in the SA )
I cant find _anything relating to this offset, but since it's
    a relative memory offset ( i presume )
we should be able to find out what it's related to. This
would be very useful because for now,
the cause of the crash is very mysterious. So my question:
    has anyone ever attempted
decompiling the flashplayer and can tell me what section this
    offset points into,
or, if there's anyone from adobe listening in, could you tell
    me this without decompiling ?
    thanks,
    Jonathan

It's not info we keep handy in Support. What you should do is
open a support case, then we can escalate to Engineering (assuming
we can't find a common cause during the process).
Does it happen with all SWF content? Or just something you
developed yourself? Only on one machine?
