I dont encounter any errors with gcc. Any ideas, anyone?
Thanks for any comments/ideas.

The /usr/ucbinclude/... stuff doesn't look to good
for kernel code (and even for user mode programs it
probably causes more problems than it helps porting
old BSD sources to SunOS 5.x).
Is your shell/make command using the "cc" command
from /usr/ucb? (Remove /usr/ucb from your $PATH,
or at least move it at the end of the $PATH directory
list, so that the real "cc" command is found first)

  • Compile Error std::bad_alloc is not in the current exception specification

    I get a compile Error when I use the Forte C++ Version 6U1 compiler. I am porting the code from 4.6 to 6U1. The error is generated from the standard new interface header file ....include/CC/new. The compiler options i used are CC -c -features=no%bool . Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

    One of the header files had a #define std. When I commented this line out the error disappeared. This was in the standard mode.Not sure if the error was due to namespace corruption.
    I finally compiled the program in compatability mode because I would have had to make wholesale changes to the code to make it conform to the new STL components in the standard mode.

  • Compiled Error in Xcode for iphone game and other questions

    Dear all,
    Hi, I am a newbie of xcode and objective-c and I have a few questions regarding to the code sample of a game attached below. It is written in objective C, Xcode for iphone4 simulator. It is part of the code of 'ball bounce against brick" game. Instead of creating the image by IB, the code supposes to create (programmatically) 5 X 4 bricks using 4 different kinds of bricks pictures (bricktype1.png...). I have the bricks defined in .h file properly and method written in .m.
    My questions are for the following code:
    - (void)initializeBricks
    brickTypes[0] = @"bricktype1.png";
    brickTypes[1] = @"bricktype2.png";
    brickTypes[2] = @"bricktype3.png";
    brickTypes[3] = @"bricktype4.png";
    int count = 0;`
    for (int y = 0; y < BRICKS_HEIGHT; y++)
    for (int x = 0; x < BRICKS_WIDTH; x++)
    - Line1 UIImage *image = [ImageCache loadImage:brickTypes[count++ % 4]];
    - Line2 bricks[x][y] = [[[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:image] autorelease];
    - Line3 CGRect newFrame = bricks[x][y].frame;
    - Line4 newFrame.origin = CGPointMake(x * 64, (y * 40) + 50);
    - Line5 bricks[x][y].frame = newFrame;
    - Line6 [self.view addSubview:bricks[x][y]]
    1) When it is compiled, error "ImageCache undeclared" in Line 1. But I have already added the png to the project. What is the problem and how to fix it? (If possible, please suggest code and explain what it does and where to put it.)
    2) How does the following in Line 1 work? Does it assign the element (name of .png) of brickType to image?
    brickTypes[count ++ % 4]
    For instance, returns one of the file name bricktype1.png to the image object? If true, what is the max value of "count", ends at 5? (as X increments 5 times for each Y). But then "count" will exceed the max 'index value' of brickTypes which is 3!
    3) In Line2, does the image object which is being allocated has a name and linked with the .png already at this line *before* it is assigned to brick[x][y]?
    4) What do Line3 and Line5 do? Why newFrame on left in line3 but appears on right in Line5?
    5) What does Line 4 do?
    Thanks
    North

    Hi North -
    macbie wrote:
    1) When it is compiled, error "ImageCache undeclared" in Line 1. ...
    UIImage *image = [ImageCache loadImage:brickTypes[count++ % 4]]; // Line 1
    The compiler is telling you it doesn't know what ImageCache refers to. Is ImageCache the name of a custom class? In that case you may have omitted #import "ImageCache.h". Else if ImageCache refers to an instance of some class, where is that declaration made? I can't tell you how to code the missing piece(s) because I can't guess the answers to these questions.
    Btw, if the png file images were already the correct size, it looks like you could substitute this for Line 1:
    UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:brickTypes[count++ % 4]]; // Line 1
    2) How does the following in Line 1 work? Does it assign the element (name of .png) of brickType to image?
    brickTypes[count ++ % 4]
    Though you don't show the declaration of brickTypes, it appears to be a "C" array of NSString object pointers. Thus brickTypes[0] is the first string, and brickTypes[3] is the last string.
    The expression (count++ % 4) does two things. Firstly, the trailing ++ operator means the variable 'count' will be incremented as soon as the current expression is evaluated. Thus 'count' is zero (its initial value) the first time through the inner loop, its value is one the second time, and two the third time. The following two code blocks do exactly the same thing::
    int index = 0;
    NSString *filename = brickTypes[index++];
    int index = 0;
    NSString *filename = brickTypes[index];
    index = index + 1;
    The percent sign is the "modulus operator" so x%4 means "x modulo 4", which evaluates to the remainder after x is divided by 4. If x starts at 0, and is incremented once everytime through a loop, we'll get the following sequence of values for x%4: 0, 1, 2, 3, 0, 1, 2, 3, 0, 1, ...
    So repeated evaluation of (brickTypes[count++ % 4]) produces the sequence: @"bricktype1.png", @"bricktype2.png", @"bricktype3.png", @"bricktype4.png", @"bricktype1.png", @"bricktype2.png", @"bricktype3.png", @"bricktype4.png", @"bricktype1.png", @"bricktype2.png", ...
    3) In Line2, does the image object which is being allocated has a name and linked with the .png already at this line *before* it is assigned to brick[x][y]?
    Line 2 allocs an object of type UIImageView and specifies the data at 'image' as the picture to be displayed by the new object. Since we immediately assign the address of the new UIImageView object to an element of the 'bricks' array, that address isn't stored in any named variable.
    The new UIImageView object is not associated with the name of the png file from which its picture originated. In fact the UIImage object which inited the UIImageView object is also not associated with that png filename. In other words, once a UIImage object is initialized from the contents of an image file, it's not possible to obtain the name of that file from the UIImage object. Note when you add a png media object to a UIImageView object in IB, the filename of the png resource will be retained and used to identify the image view object. But AFAIK, unless you explicitly save it somewhere in your code, that filename will not be available at run time.
    4) What do Line3 and Line5 do? Why newFrame on left in line3 but appears on right in Line5?
    5) What does Line 4 do?
    In Line 2 we've set the current element of 'bricks' to the address of a new UIImageView object which will display one of the 4 brick types. By default, the frame of a UIImageView object is set to the size of the image which initialized it. So after Line 2, we know that frame.size for the current array element is correct (assuming the image size of the original png file was what we want to display, or assuming that the purpose of [ImageCache loadImage:...] is to adjust the png size).
    Then in Line 3, we set the rectangle named newFrame to the frame of the current array element, i.e. to the frame of the UIImageView object whose address is stored in the current array element. So now we have a rectangle whose size (width, height) is correct for the image to be displayed. But where will this rectangle be placed on the superview? The placement of this rectangle is determined by its origin.
    Line 4 computes the origin we want. Now we have a rectangle with both the correct size and the correct origin.
    Line 5 sets the frame of the new UIImageView object to the rectangle we constructed in Lines 3 and 4. When that object is then added to the superview in Line 6, it will display an image of the correct size at the correct position.

    In some versions of Oracle (certainly all of the 8.x versions and earlier, and possibly some of the earlier 9 versions) the SQL parsers in the SQL engine and in the PL/SQL engine were different. Some features that worked directly in SQL did not work in PL/SQL. Scalar sub-queries were one of those things.
    You have three options. You can try to re-write the insert statement to eliminate the PL/SQL unimplemented feature. You can create a view in the database for the SELECT part of the insert statement then use that view in the insert. finally, and least desirable, you can build the whole statment as a string, and use EXECUTE IMMEDIATE to run it in PL/SQL.

    Use : before M_CNT1hi Navneet,
    m_cnt1 is neither a db-or-a-non-db-block item.
    so how come i used : sign before m_cnt1.

  • "catch is unreachable" compiler error with java try/catch statement

    I'm receiving a compiler error, "catch is unreachable", with the following code. I'm calling a method, SendMail(), which can throw two possible exceptions. I thought that the catch statements executed in order, and the first one that is caught will execute? Is their a change with J2SE 1.5 compiler? I don't want to use a generic Exception, because I want to handle the specific exceptions. Any suggestions how to fix? Thanks
    try {
    SendMail(....);
    } catch (MessagingException e1) {
    logger.fine(e1.toString());
    } catch (AddressException e2) {
    logger.fine(e2.toString());
    public String SendMail(....) throws AddressException,
    MessagingException {....

    I found the problem:
    "A catch block handles exceptions that match its exception type (parameter) and exception types that are subclasses of its exception type (parameter). Only the first catch block that handles a particular exception type will execute, so the most specific exception type should come first. You may get a catch is unreachable syntax error if your catch blocks do not follow this order."
    If I switch the order of the catch exceptions the compiler error goes away.
    thanks

    2.Does it any of ur forms supports Triggers, code e.g. using OLE2 without using Webutil..
    3.Even icons and passwords r Case Sensetive
    4.Forms during compilation may have in-consistancy between package Specification and Bodies...
    Pls before migrating read Oracle Forms 11g Migration Documentation to see the desupported Built in
    Regarding ur SQL Statment Error u might need to upgrade to ORACLE 10.2.0.3 to Solve such a problem

  • Compiler Error Message: CS0433

    Compiler Error Message: CS0433: The type 'CrystalDecisions.Web.CrystalReportPartsViewer' exists in both 'c:\WINDOWS\assembly\GAC_MSIL\CrystalDecisions.Web\11.5.3700.0__692fbea5521e1304\CrystalDecisions.Web.dll' and 'c:\WINDOWS\assembly\GAC_MSIL\CrystalDecisions.Web\10.2.3600.0__692fbea5521e1304\CrystalDecisions.Web.dll'
    Support Information:
    Windows Server 2003
    Crystal 9,10 and 11 support required based on reports and web configuration.
    This error relates to the following configuration:
    Visual Studio 2005
    Crystal .Net that comes with VS2005 SP2 (10.2.3600.0)
    Web application deployment.
    I am told that some Web.Config settings would fix this, but no one has been to specific.
    Thanks
    -Jonathan

    Been over those files many times today actually. Thanks for the suggestion though. Apparently this type of issue is a known issue when you have multiple DLL's in the assembly cache with regards to how Crystal is laid out.
    My Web.Config has no refference to either assembly, the project reference only refferences 10.2.3600.0 DLL's, Specific Version is set to true on all of them. The only way around this problem from what I have read is to use some sort of Web.Config adjustment, and the only article that even slightly goes into this is:
    http://blogs.gotdotnet.com/richarde/archive/2005/09/02/468187.aspx
    As you can see by that article, Microsoft is not only aware of this problem, but have had to do work arounds in the Web.Config themself to get around it. The problem is, I do not know the xmlns to use for Crystal, the depenentAssembly information, or even the assemblyIdentity to use in this case.
    What I need is the <runtime> variables for atleast version 10.2.3600.0 and 11.5.3700.0 along with 11.5.3300.0, some of my reports are directly created inside of VS 2005 C# .Net and need to be displayed in a web project, others are created in VS 2003 and used in an application layer and those are fine, but finally, I have Crystal XI R2 reports (several people creating these) which are displayed on a web page via <assemblies> tags within those sub project websites.
    The sticker at the moment is the VS2005 C# projects. I would LOVE to just shove a package at VS 2005 to force it to upgrade from 10.2.3600.0 to 11.5.3700.0, then it wouldn't matter as much, but Microsoft won't support me, they consider this a Business Objects issue. What I am looking for is the Web.Config <runtime> setttings.
    <runtime>
       <assemblyBinding xmlns="????">
            <dependentAssembly>
                 <assemblyIdentity name="???" publicKeyToken="???" />
                 <bindingRedirect oldVersion="??" newVersion="??" />
            </dependentAssembly>
       </assemblyBinding>
    </runtime>
    One for me to get past this issue.. Or some sort of upgrade to VS 2005 to bring it up to Crystal XI R2 package level, or some direction there of.

  • Compilation error with (amp) restriction specifier in C++ AMP

    Hi,
    [double post from :
    original post ]
    I'm using C++ AMP (I'm not that experienced with C++ and I'm new to AMP, so I have to stumble through this stuff) But I thought I had this code working, but now I'm getting the following error:
    Error    1    error C3930: 'WRC_Raytracer::RaytracerRTC::RenderSceneWithAMP::<lambda_c13eb21eb34534d03d408733745bcf16>::operator ()' : no overloaded function has restriction specifiers that are compatible with the ambient
    context 'Concurrency::_Parallel_for_impl'
    Here is my parallel loop (cut down slightly to focus on the issue):
    [code]
        parallel_for(0, 720 * 576, 1, [w, cBuffer, pixelDataView](int i) restrict(amp)
                    // compute x and y for the given index
                    float x = (float)(i % w);
                    float y = (float)(i / w);
                    // convert color from {0,1}f to {0,255}b
                    int bInt, gInt, rInt;
                    bInt = (int) (min(x/719.f, 1) * 255);
                    gInt = (int) (min(y/575.f, 1) * 255);
                    rInt = (int) (min(0, 1) * 255);
                    // represent color data as (int)argb
                    int pixelAsInt = (255 << 24) + (rInt << 16) + (gInt << 8) + bInt;
                    // update pixelData element
                    pixelDataView[i] = pixelAsInt;
    [/code]
    Can anyone see what's wrong here ? As I said, I'm sure this was working yesterday, and I did something just before shutting down, and now it's not working.
    Edit : I tried the parallel_for_each loop that I had started with. And that actually does work ...
    parallel_for_each(pixelDataView.extent,[=](index<1> idx) restrict(amp)

    Hello Gavin, thank you for your question.
    Note that parallel_for_each (more precisely, the overloads that accept extent arguments and take a restrict(amp) functional parameter) is the unique entry-point for C++ AMP execution. Other functions in the concurrency namespace, such as parallel_for,
    are unrelated, and stem from a different technology (PPL). Since restrict(amp) is specific to C++ AMP, trying to use a restrict(amp) functional object in any context but that of C++ AMP execution, is not possible - hence the compiler error
    you were seeing. Hopefully this turns out helpful for you. Also, congratulations for picking up C++ AMP, I hope you like it! Cheers!

  • Forms compilation Errors under Linux

    Hello,
    I have a main form called Tbdoctrk.fmb.
    This forms compiles and runs perfectly through Oracle 9i iDS.
    When transfering the fmb file under Linux, and attempting to recompile using the f90genm.sh utility, I get the following compilation errors:
    FRM-18108: Failed to load the following objects.
    FRM-30436: Parent window not specified for canvas.View Canvas H_TOOLBAR
    FRM-30041: Position of item places it off of canvas.
    Item: BUTTON_HELP
    Block: VARIABLE
    Form: TBDOCTRK
    FRM: Unable to adjust form for output.
    ====
    I noticed that most of the object that failed to load (1 data block object, 1 canvas and a number of property classes and visual attributes) are contained in a file called TOOLBAR.fmb.
    The TOOLBAR.fmb file compiles without errors under Linux/WIndows + is located in the same folder as the Tbdoctrk.fmb file.
    1) How can I resolve this issue ?
    PT
    PS: I tried renaming the fmb files to upper/lower case without success.

    Hello,
    My main form called Tbdoctrk.fmb in turn calls a form called Pre_bord.fmb in a Program Unit.
    Most but not all Class and Value Attributes are included in a file called toolbar.fmb. I did not find any specific reference to the toolbar.fmb file.
    However, at compile time, I find that those objects are not loaded.
    1) In what part of the main form Tbdoctrk.fmb should I find any such reference to the toolbar.fmb file ?
    2) How should I create those symbolic links under Linux ?
    PT
