Data Class in ABAP dictionary

hi,
recently we moved the tables from tablespace PSAPBTAD to user defined tablespace & since than we have poor performance in PROD - have any one had this issue before ? any idea on data class and tablespace ?
thanks

I doubt data class affects performance.  It definitely affect upgrades and support packs so you'll want to confirm that every table you reorged is assigned the data class associated with its current tablespace, otherwise you can lose data.
It could be a lot of things affecting the performance.  Maybe the reorg tool added too many small extents to the tables which is a problem only if you're not on SAN and if the tablespaces are DTMS. But I'd start with disk stats.   Take a look and see if you've got hot spots, it's the first thing I'd check.
Oh, and how about database statistics, did you re-calc after the reorgs? It's essential.

  • Boolean data element in ABAP Dictionary

    Dear friends,
Is it possible to have a Boolean variable defined in the domain without having the value range ???
    Regards,
    Vivek K

    Hi Vivek,
If you are speaking of a boolean VARIABLE .. it has a default value range.
However, I do not know what is meant by boolean variable in a DOMAIN.
Anyway, as far as I can think of a default value range should be associated with it.

  • SATATIS of Procedural ABAP compared with CLASS-DATA of OO ABAP.

    Hi,
Is the STATICS statement in procedural ABAP synonymous to CLASS-DATA in OO ABAP.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Rajesh.

    Hello Rajesh
The strict answer is: no, they are different. However, they share things in common.
That's what the SAP documentation says about STATICS:
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/9f/db982c35c111d1829f0000e829fbfe/content.htm">Local Data in the Subroutine</a>
    <b>Static Local Data Objects</b>
<i>If you want to keep the value of a local data object after exiting the subroutine, you must use the STATICS statement to declare it instead of the DATA statement. With STATICS you declare a data object that is globally defined, but only locally visible from the subroutine in which it is defined.</i>
Class-data are also globally defined yet they are valid everywhere within your class. That is different from local static variables that are only visible within the FORM routine where they are declared.

  • ABAP Dictionary structure for use in ABAP Mapping

Hello, I'm creating an ABAP mapping class which requires me to use standard ABAP dictionary (table) structures (ex.MARA, KNA1 etc) for the mapping as the data coming into the mapping is in that format. I'm creating the ABAP class in the PI server and do not have table structures (MARA, KNA1 etc) in the dictionary in the PI server. What is the efficient way to create these structures (as Z elements) in the PI server's dictionary?
I have the XSD of these table structures. Can I import those XSDs into the ABAP dictionary in PI servers? If yes, how can it be done? Please help!

Yes you can import it as an external definition data and create the data type based on this XSD. Go through the link below for more information on the steps to import and how to use it.

  • Abap-dictionary

    hi experts,
what is value table&check table in abap dictionary.
where we use it. and what is the purpose.
    thank u,
      cnu

    Hi,
    Check this link
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/e2/667092730811d2959500a0c929b3c3/content.htm
    Value Table
This is maintained at Domain Level.
When ever you create a domain , you can entered allowed values.   For example  you go to Domain   SHKZG - Debit/credit indicator.  Here only allowed values is H or S.
When ever you use this Domain, the system will forces you to enter only these values.
This is a sort of master check . To be maintained as a customization object. This mean that if you want to enter values to this table you have to create a development request & transport the same.
    Check table
For example you have Employee master table & Employee Transaction table.
When ever an employee Transacts we need to check whether that employee exists , so we can refer to the employee master table.
This is nothing but a Parent & Child relationship .  Here data can be maintained at client level , no development involved.
As per DBMS what we call foregin key table, is called as check table in SAP.
There is 1 more important Difference in Value Table and Check Table is that:
    1. The contents of the check will be used as an input help(F4 Help) for a particular field on which a check table is assigned.
But the contents of Value Table are never used in Input Help.
The Heirarchy which decides from where to used the Input Help is:
    1. Input help defined explicitly in ABAP Program or Dialog Module.
    2. Input Help Attached to the referenced Database Table field.
    3. Using the contents of Check Table as an input help if neither (1) or (2) help are there.
    4. Input help from Fixed value or Value range given in Domain.

  • What is use of  Conversion Routine in  Abap dictionary

    Hi,
Can any body please tell me the proper use of <b>Conversion Routine in  Abap dictionary.</b>
Please give me a practical example where it has been used.
    Thanks
    prabhudutta

    hi,
here is help for conversion routine
Conversion takes place when converting the contents of a screen field from display format to SAP-internal format and vice versa and when outputting with the ABAP statement WRITE, depending on the data type of the field.
If standard conversion is not suitable, it can be overridden by specifying a conversion routine in the underlying domain.
A conversion routine is identified by its five-place name and is stored as a group of two function modules. The function modules have a fixed naming convention. The following function modules are assigned to conversion routine xxxxx:
    CONVERSION_EXIT_xxxxx_INPUT
    CONVERSION_EXIT_xxxxx_OUTPUT
The INPUT module performs the conversion from display format to internal format. The OUTPUT module performs the conversion from internal format to display format.
If a screen field refers to a domain with a conversion routine, this conversion routine is executed automatically each time an entry is made in this screen field or when values are displayed with this screen field.

    Raghavendra

  • Inner classes in ABAP

    Hello!
Is it possible to declare inner classes, that is, classes within classes in ABAP? If yes, please provide example.
    Thanks!
    Kind regards,
    Igor

    > No. I need a class to be declared within a class, or
    > even within a method in order to make it visible only
    > to the containing class (or method).
You cannot <b><i>nest</i></b> class declarations, but there <b><u>happens to be</u></b> a way of implementing the functionality you desire, though too tedious to be useful practically. You can use a combination of a <b>"CREATE PRIVATE"</b> class and the <b>Friendship</b> idea to do this. A quick and dirty example is :
    REPORT  zootest.
    CLASS lcl_test_outer DEFINITION DEFERRED.
    *       CLASS lcl_test_inner DEFINITION
    CLASS lcl_test_inner
                     DEFINITION CREATE PRIVATE
                     FRIENDS lcl_test_outer.
      PUBLIC SECTION.
        DATA: test.
    ENDCLASS.
    *       CLASS lcl_test_outer DEFINITION
    CLASS lcl_test_outer DEFINITION.
      PUBLIC SECTION.
        METHODS: test_inst.
    ENDCLASS.
    *       CLASS lcl_test_outer IMPLEMENTATION
    CLASS lcl_test_outer IMPLEMENTATION.
      METHOD test_inst.
DATA: ref1 TYPE REF TO lcl_test_inner.
        CREATE OBJECT ref1.
      ENDMETHOD.
    ENDCLASS.
DATA: ref1 TYPE REF TO lcl_test_inner,
          ref2 TYPE REF TO lcl_test_outer.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
      CREATE OBJECT ref2.
Crude, but it can be refined further, but I hope this helps

    Dear all,
First of all, I'm currently busy implementing a educational enviroment for our company, we are using IDES MySAP ERP 2005 SR1 MSSQL.
At the moment we are trying to upgrade the SPAM version from version 20 to 22.
However, during the requirement checks the following error occurred :
<b>Open conversions in the data dictionary</b>
    <i>Phase CHECK_REQUIREMENTS: Explanation of Errors
Some open conversion requests still exist in the ABAP Data Dictionary
for the following ABAP Dictionary objects. To avoid inconsistencies and
loss of data, you must process these conversions first.
    Proceed as follows:
    - Open a new session.
    - Start the Database Utility (transaction SE14).
    - Correct the inconsistencies for the specified objects.
    - Repeat the import phase. If no more inconsistencies are found, the

Is there a note or can somebody provide me what's in the indexes, so i can create it in our IDES system.

    Hi Kiran,
Thank you very much. I managed to create the first index.
However not the indexes on table SC2T327F363DFA4T. Can't find any information for the indexes for this table. Did found note 959811. There it state that de indexes were deleted. But still stuck in the check_requirements of the SPAM Update!

  • Unknown Objects in ABAP Dictionary

    Hello Everyone,
I am getting a few objects that come up when running the Missing tables and Indexes command in the DBCOCKPIT. Under Unknown Objects in ABAP Dictionary I have the following objects appear:
    sap_tabstats
    V_MSSDWDLLS
    sap_tabstats_V_newest
    sap_tabstats_V_oldest
I cannot find anything referencing how to correct this issue. Can anyone be of any assistance? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

    Hi:
    for  sap_tabstats, sap_tabstats_V_oldest and sap_tabstats_V_newest you can find in note 1027512 :
    4.  IMPORTANT CHANGES IN DATA COLLECTION AND HISTORY
o  Applying SP12 on a SQL Server system will introduce a new method
for collecting database and table size histories.  This new
methode relies on t-sql objects sap_tabstats,
            sap_tabstats_V_newest, and sap_tabstats_V_oldest.  These items
aren't in the data dictionary and should be ignored in any
discrepancy reports.  They are added to an exception table for
            SP13.
For V_MSSDWDLLS you should read note 1020865. The view can be ignored.

  • Unknown object in ABAP Dictionary

    Hello
In st04 in  "Missing tables and indexes" are many  indexes have reported unknown "Unknown object in ABAP Dictionary".
This is because indexex are created directly in DB. Is there a way to solve this problem?
We have db : oracle 10.2.04 and sap SAP ECC 6.0 (Pkg. lvl. 254).

    Hi,
In ST04, If you click Missing tables and indexes then next to "Unknown object in ABAP Dictionary"  there is a information button which says as below, kindly go through it which could help you.
" Here objects which were found on the database but which are not defined
in the ABAP Dictionary are displayed. These objects are displayed for
information only, since they generally do not belong to the SAP System.
These objects normally do not cause problems.
The objects are generally created directly with database means. If the
author is unknown, the purpose of the table can sometimes be determined
using the display function. Any data can only be displayed with database
means since the SAP tools for displaying data are based on the
    definition in the ABAP Dictionary.
In some cases, such objects were already overlooked by SAP at delivery
or occurred during upgrading. To check this, search in OSS using the
keyword DB02 and the Release level for a corresponding Note.
Customer tables, views and indexes should always be created with the
ABAP Dictionary. This is the only way to ensure that the objects are
recognized by the SAP System and that for example collisions can be
    avoided during an upgrade."
    Regards,
    Sharath
