Data copy between blocks

Can you please let me know calc script command to perform datacopy between blocks?

Hello,
As Glenn Sir suggested, we can copy the data either by using a DATACOPY command or by using "=" operator.
Note - If you are copying a data from one set to another set on the basis of "IF" condition then you are not able to use DATACOPY command, so the other option was the only way i.e. go for the “=” operator.
One thing should always be kept in mind; choosing the limiting member, appropriately choose the limiting member when using the IF condition and then perform the copying of data.
For more details on DATACOPY command refer the below link
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12032_01/doc/epm.921/html_techref/calc/datacopy.htm
Hope this helps

  • Data Copy between entities

    Hi all,
I have an issue in data copy between entities and scenarios.
I have the raw data in entities 1,2,3 etc and Scenario A. I need to copy this data to entities 4,5,6 and Scenario B.
    S#A.E#1 = S#B.E#4
    S#A.E#2 = S#B.E#5
    S#A.E#3 = S#B.E#6
When i do this using HS.EXP..I get and error message saying that "Invalid destination specified"
But it is invalid to use Entity on the LHS of HS.EXP...How do i go about solving this problem?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

You would need to do something like the following to get around this as you can specify items outside of the current subcube on the left side of the rules
    If HS.Scenario.Member = "A" Then
    If HS.Entity.Member ="2" Then
    hs.exp = "A#ALL = S#B.E#4"
    End if
    End If

  • Is it feasible to do System copy between SAP r/3 4.7 and ECC 6.0?

    Hello Everyone,
Please let me know is it possible to do a system copy between two different SAP versions( SAP R/3 and ECC6.0 ABAP stack)
    Background:
    OS: Windows 2003
    DB: MSSQL 2005
    Appreciate your response
    Thanks,

    Hi,
We have done the system copy from production(till dec data) to sandbox and  then  upgarded from R/3 4.7 to ECC 6.0.
Now the upgraded server has a data till december and our functional team wants to have all data from current production(r/3 4.7) to Sandox (test upgarde m/c) for testing since some of new applications have gone live after dec.
Please suggest me how to we bring those data to test upgarde machine.
Will client copy help in this case?
    Please let me know

  • Data sync between exchange 2003 and exchange 2013

Need assistance on a general direction.
There is a 2003 domain with exchange 2003 currently in use. On this domain there is also a contact management application that is heavily integrated and cannot be update at this time.  I would like to bring up a new 2013 exchange server.
Is there a method that I could have user data synchronized between the 2013 exchange data and the 2003 exchange? In this manner users could use the 2013 exchange as primary and the Contact manage application could use the sync copy of exchange 2003. For
now I am only concerned about he the calendar however I am sure the other information will need to be sync as well.
Please let me know.  Thank you.

    Hi There,
Once you install Exchange 2013 it will use the same data your Exchange 2003 is using \ seeing because both of them use Active directory for Directory information.
Exchange 2013 will see all the users that are 2003 without you needing to sync \ move data.
If you need to users to be on Exchange 2013 and keep Exchange 2003 all you need to do is move the mailboxes to Exchange 2013.

  • Data copy B/W Essbase Applications using script

How to Data copy from one app to another app.
    Server Name: Server1
    Version: 9.3
    Essbase App: App1
    Data Bases: Db1, Db2,Db3
    Server Name: Server1
    Version: 9.3
    Essbase App: App2
    Data Bases: Db1, Db2,Db3
Note: App1 & App2 Applications are having similar outlines
Requirement: Copy Year 2012 Data from App1 to App2
I have come to know this is possible using Xref calc script.
Could some one please suggest the script.
    Thanks in advance!

Partitioning should be the best one as Glenn said, but see if you have licenses for that, as partitioning is licensed separately from essbase.
    The alternatives could be:
    * Data Export / Import: for exporting you could use DATAEXPORT command within a calcscript (see technical reference for details). Then importing the data with a rule file.
    * XREF: this approach could give some headaches with block creation (see https://cn.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=1010153). In general terms, try this one if the portion of data to copy is relatively small and well delimited.

  • Difference between blocked ALV and Hierarchical ALV

    Hi All,
Can some body tell me what's the difference between hierarchical and blocked ALV Report Please telle me some body what's the type of ALV it's displaying for the standard Report V/LD this is pricing report I want to develop custom report exactly looks as V/LD but the problem is I am not able to identify what's the ALV format it's displaying either Hierarchical or blocked?
    Thanks&Regards
    Mahesh

    Hi Mahesh,
Blocked ALV displays the data in blocks together in output. e.g. suppose you want to dsplay the data of header & item level. Then you candisplay the data of header records in first block & Item level data in another block on same output screen.
For hierarchical ALV  check the below link

  • Copy between applications

I am currently using the 30 day free trial of iWork. I use Excel in a specific way that is crucial to my business. I don't do much of anything fancy, but need the following functionality:
I use spreadsheets in Excel which I then I copy (using either the Copy command or the Camera tool), switch applications to VectorWorks, and paste into my main project document. Excel copies all of the elements of my selection, and the resulting paste into VectorWorks consists of lines and text complete with formatting (font, size, bold, italic, etc). When I attempt the same action in Numbers, the resulting paste into VectorWorks is a Bitmap image. Is there any way to copy and paste between Numbers and VectorWorks in the same manner as I currently work with Excel and VectorWorks? I would love to be able to get away from Microsoft, but if I can't copy between applications, Numbers is of no use to me.

    Hello
I met this kind of problem.
My workaround is to paste in TextEdit then copy and Paste into the final destination.
It's a bit cumbersome but it works.
Perhaps Apple guys will edit the way they treat the clipboard.
They don't normalize it when pasting from Numbers to Pages or Keynote, so we get formulas or some other odd results.
Your problem with VectorWorks let me think that the way they "normalize" the clipboard when leaving iWork apps is not perfectly correct.
It seems that a range of cells must be passed as a TAB delimited block of values which may be pasted in a tool like VectorWorks.

  • How to pass set 'Relation' between blocks dynamically..Pls help

    Dear all,
    Best wishes,
Please help me to find solution for this..
I have two forms A and B. Form A will pass 4 parameter to form B so that B will fetch the details. till this everry thing is fine..
    Form A -- > Uses Table A --> col1,col2,col3,col4
    Form b ----> Uses Table B ---> col1,col2,col3
    table a col1 = table b col1
    a col2 = b col2
    a col3 = b col3
a col4(already exist) = b.col4(newly added) (no data exist for col4 table B for current records but will have future records)
Form A passes all these 4 col as parameter to form B.
But actual problem is for all new records (will have all the relation records i.e. Table A col1,col2,col3,col4= Table B col1,col2,col3,col4) so existing relation works fine Form B while fetching the data ( I manully edited relation between these two tables by adding Table A.col4=TableB.col4)
How ever this relation is giving problems for EXISTING RECORDS in Table B which does not which is not having corresponding equal value to Col4 in Table A.
so now scenario is if i remove that addition I made , THEN IT ONLY WORKS FOR EXISTING RECORDS
    and
if i keep update relation between block (updated one including col4) then IT ONLY WORKS FOR NEW RECORDS since col4 parameter passes as null to form B then since no records in Form B.
what my idea is to pass 'relation' dynamically creating relation for old and new records.
like "telling form B to check -- if Table B.col4 is null where TableA.col1 = TableB.col then -- opt for relation which DOES NOT INCLUDE a.col4=b.col4 in relation statement
    or
if Table B.col4 is notnull (Table having correspoiding records) where TableA.col1 = TableB.col then -- opt for relation which INCLUDE a.col4=b.col4 in relation statement
Sorry for long post..hope i am clear on my requirements..
    Any suggestions are welcome...
    thanks in advance
    Prasanth

    Prasanth,
Were I in your situation, I would push back on the author of the requirement and inform them that the data in Table 1 must be updated to conform with new requirement. This eliminates any DDL change to the tables and it is not unreasable to require a DML change to the data to support a "New" requirement. If the author of the requirement still will not see reason and wants you to make it work as is, then it could be made to work as is, but it will require a complete redesign of the Form and a complete regression test of the form to ensure the new Form process doesn't break functionality or have unexpected side-affects. Provide development time and cost estimates so the "author" can determine the cost effectiveness of the options.
As to the options, you could make this work using a From Clause Query based block or a Procedure based block. Both options will allow you to use NVL or DECODE, but will require you to handle any Forms DML manually using the On-Ins, On-Upd and On-Del triggers. Both options will also allow you to use the Relationship feature of data blocks.
If you have access to My Oracle Support, take a look at the following documents:

If you don't have My Oracle Support access, take a look at this URL for some examples:

  • Dblink data copy

    Hi,
    I have 3 instances (instance1, instance2, instance3). DB links exists between instance1 and instance2, instance1 and instance3.
    instance1 <-> instance2
    instance1 <-> instance3
I want to copy data (some records from a table) from instance2 to instance 3.
What is the best and optimal way to do this data copy. Can I use some stored procedure in instance1?
    Please suggest.

I am assuming when you say instance1, instance2 & instance3 they are different database instances. I would like to call it db1 db2 & db3
If you are referring to multiple instances of same DB (RAC) then all the data is accessible across all instances.
    A simplest way
    - if the number of records are not very high
    - provided table structures are the same across db2 & db3 and
    - you have privileges to write into db3 from db1.
insert into table@instance3 as select from table@instance2

    Murphy's law confirmed :(
According to data available and not having DBA privileges logged on instance1 I'd be forced to try
    insert into t@instance3
    select * from t@instance2Regards

or generate (a reasonable number of) insert statements on instance2 and apply them on instance3
or using export/import as offered by SQLDeveloper

    Many thanks for any advice.
    David

You don't need conversion programs, iTunes can copy most of your content over to the iPad via the file sharing section, and some apps also support Dropbox, email attachments, transfer via your wifi network. There are a number of apps that you can get that support Microsoft office file (microsoft don't make an app versions of their software) e.g. from Apple there are Pages (word support), Numbers (excel) and Keynote (powerpoint), and from third-parties there are apps such as Documents To Go and QuickOffice HD

  • Data in detailed block is not getting populated

    I have created 3 blocks-: block1, block2 and block3
    I have created two relations
    1st - between block1 and block2 (block1 is master and block2 is detailed)
    2nd - between block1 and block3 (block1 is master and block3 is detailed)
Now, on the canvas I place a text item block1.text_item1 (involved in relation) from block1,
and a text item block3.text_item3 from block3 (this too involved in relation) block3
when I execute the form and I query on master block that is on block1.text_item1, data in detail block that is in block3.text_item3 do not get populated.
Now I place a text item block2.text_item2(involved in the relation) from block2 on the same canvas
Now I again execute the form and query on the master block that is on block1.text_item1, this time data in all three blocks got populated.
I want to place items only from block1 and block3 at present. Could you please tell me how can I do this?
    Regards

No, I am not getting such error. Only data is not getting populated.
If I remove item from block3 and place item from block2, then also the data is getting populated.
Item from block1+ Item from block2 -> Data is getting populated
Item from block1+ Item from block3 -> Data is not getting populated
Item from block1+ Item from block2+Item from block3 -> Data is getting populated

  • Diff between Block/unblock & mark for deletion of GL accounts

Can any one let me know the difference between Block/unblock & mark for deletion of GL accounts

    Hi,
If you block a GL Account using transaction code FS00, the account is blocked for posting. No financial transactions can be posted to that account. We can unblock the GL Account at any time by clicking on unblock icon. Blocking can be done at Company Code level or at Chart of Accounts level.
For deleting or archiving the GL Master data it needs to be first marked for deletion and then delete it. This can also be done at Company Code level or at Chart of Accounts level.

  • Re:How to Improve Data Copy Performance

Is there a way to tell a data copy to ignore any #Missing values and only copy values that re non #Missing. Looking towards improving my DataCopy script besides just utlizing fix statements.
Please provide any suggestions in optimizing a data copy script.
    Thanks for your Help!!!!

I'd suggest having a look at the documentation for the configuration file setting COPYMISSINGBLOCK. This prevents the creation of #Missing blocks in the destination set when copying from a dense dimension.
Obviously, within an entire block (e.g. when copying from a sparse dimension) a #Missing value is just a #Missing value - you can't do anything about that.
As a side issue, you may need to consider that different calculation results can be produced by some calculations depending on whether or not blocks exist.

    Hi,
I have create an application for a PDA and PC. The aim of the programm is, that I can send and receive data files between the two devices over TCP/IP. When I run the two programms on two PC's, it run without problems. When I run one Programm on a PDA and the second on a PC it don't work. I can send the file but it don't arrive the PC/PDA.
I have create the Programm with LabVIEW PDA.
    What can I do?
    Thanks for your answer.

I suppose the reason is that some function blocks don't work on a PDA. The blocks where I used are "Read from Binary File", "Write to Binary File" and "Open/Create/Replace  File".
    Anybody knows this problem?
