Data Format - Hypertext link

Is it possible to format a column as a hypertext link but pull the url from a different column? for example I have a 2 column table, column 1 is the name of an XLS file I have saved on the file system of the server column 2 is a URL link to the spreadsheet. I would rather not render the URL link column in the Answers Report. I would like to be able to render the spreadsheet column that has a hypertext link to the address in column 2. If that is not possible I would like to be able to change column 2 from showing the URL to static text like "Click Here". I tried using the Custom Text Format option using the html that you see(grayed out) when you choose Hypertext Link @[html]"<a href=""@H"">"@"</a>" then changing it to @[html]"<a href=""@H"">"Click Here"</a>" but the link doesn't work. Is there a way to do this either with what I have described or with some other approach?

replace aa by a

  • What is data format "Hypertext Link" in column properties??

    Hi,
What is data format "Hypertext Link" in column properties? How to use it?
Can I use column value to navigate to other report without using "Value Interaction" in column properties.

By changing the data format to say HTML, or Hypertext link, you can add HTML content/HTML tags within the column formula.
You can create a column formula that would resolve into a dynamic hyperlink and pass parameters by using Go Url. Check out Chapter 11 in the Oracle® Business Intelligence Presentation Services Administration Guide

  • Hypertext Link Data Format

I want to be able, from a request's column to access a certain URL, for example, suppose I have a column in the database that has URL data in it, and I want the user to be able to access the URL from the report. I know i can use the 'Hypertext Link' data format, but I don’t want the URL to appear in that column, I want for example the value of ‘Visit our website’ to appear and when the user clicks on that link, the underlying URL would be opened in a separate window.

    Hi mma,
I think his requirement is something like he has 2 columns "URL" & "URL-Description"
    like... htttp://www.google.com & Google sight...
but he don't want to show the url directly instead he will show description column and when he click on the description of google i.e. "Google Sight" it should navigate to the google sight... :-)
Hope i am correct... but no on-fly answer.. ;)

  • Hypertext link from a Result

Can part of a Result be configured as a hypertext link? For example, could a click on a column of a table go to cnn.com?
As far as I can tell, the closest general support for this navigates from a Result to a Dashboard, which contains a hypertext link. This isn't satisfactory because it requires two clicks and an intermediate page load to reach the destination.
(Curiously, the Oracle Business Intelligence Answers, Delivers, and Interactive
Dashboards User Guide claims that Gauges support navigation to web sites: "To allow navigation to multiple saved requests, dashboards or Web sites ...".)
    What workarounds are recommended?
One possibility occurs to me: Include a hypertext link in a text field in the data; this would support a link from the text box of the data, but not elsewhere, and it would require mangling the data.
    BR
    A

    Try this:
    1) Create a "dummy" column. In the Edit Formula button, enter this: CASE WHEN 1=0 THEN TableName.ColumnName ELSE 'www.cnn.com' END
    2) Override the data format with "Hypertext Link (prepend http://)" option.
    3) Go to Results. Now the column displays www.cnn.com and when clicked, takes you to the site.
OR, if you wish your data to be a link to the site (not data dependent), do this:
    1) Override the data format to "Hypertext Link (prepend http://)" option.
    2) Switch to Custom Text Format. (The reason for this an the previous step is to make the text in the Hypertext Link (prepend http://) editable.
    3) Edit what you see to this: "http://"@[html]"(a href="http://"www.cnn.com"")"@"(/a)" (Changed the angle brackets so it displays...)
    4) Go to Results. Now the data in the column displays but they become hyperlinks to the cnn site.

  • Date format is not working properly for Calender value help

    Hi Experts,
    We have two problems.
    1. We want to change the format of date displayed. We want format of dd-MMM-yy. For that we have created one Simple
Type Dictionary Object with Displaying format dd-MMM-yy. It is working
fine for the non editable UI. But once I apply the dictionary type
object as data type for an input field, probem happens. Once the user
choose a date from calender value help the value in the input field is
coming like 01-011-12 not like 01-Jan-12.
The date format is not changing from the calender. But if we set the
display format of the dictionary object to MM-dd-yy or MM/dd/yy or
dd/MM/yy or dd-MM-yy the format conversion from calender to input field
    is happening properly.
The only problem once we put MMM in place of MM for the input field
where user is selecting from a calender value help.
    2. We want to restrict users from entering the value manually for date input field. The user
should be able only to enter value by selecting from calender value
    help.
Please give suitable solution for these problems

  • OAF changes Date Format

    Hi
I need to store a date into a flexfield. We have enabled the Flexfield and there is NO value set attached to it.
This attribute is already in the VO as a varchar, so we have just added a new column into the page as data type Date and link it to the flexfield column.
In this page we have a table layout so the user can enter 10 rows before saving them. And this page it just used to punch data into a table, which means, once the user press apply the page saves and clears. The user can not query on that page.
When entering the first row, we can open the Date picker and we can choose the date and then it populates the column as “DD-MON-YYYY”.
    The problem is:
When we entering the second row after entering one column the pages changes the format of my date from the previous record to “YYYY-MM-DD”, then after entering any second column the pages clear the date from the previous row.
Running the page from JDev it shows the following message before clears the flexfield:
    java.text.ParseException: 2011-01-28
Note we have not extended the VO and not extended the controller.
    My questions are:
    1) Why the Self-Service is change the date format to YYYY-MM-DD even if the profile ICX: Date Format Mask (31-DEC-1999) and my preference is set to DD-MON-YYYY?
    2) How can I avoid this to happen? Is there any way to keep my date as DD-MON-YYYY?
    Thanks,
    Alex

  • Date format doesn't follow my International settings

In System Preferences > International > Formats, I have set up my date format to be yyyy/mm/dd but the date format options available in Numbers don't include this. Numbers only gives the American mm/dd/yyyy option for an 8-digit date format.
Surely this is a bug? Is there any way to set the formats in Numbers to obey System Preferences?

    Hello
    Two problems in fact.
    - 1 - from what does Numbers grab it's default date format?
I set the International prefPanes to "Long date" with years on four digits but Numbers defaults to 1 déc.07. Here I'm afraid that this is a bug. Maybe one linked to localization.
    - 2 - Numbers offers a menu giving us the ability to change the used format but alas, the ISO format is not available. Here it's not a bug. It seems that they simply ignored this format.
*Go to "Provide Numbers Feedback" in the "Numbers" menu* and describe what you wish.
I already asked Apple about that because it's really surprising that the ISO format (which is the international rule) is not reachable in Numbers.

    Hi,
Check if the data is there in the data target on which your report is based.
Check to see if this data is available for reporting.
Check to see if you have auth to view this data.
Check if there are any filters or restrictions in the query that would prevent the data from being displayed.
Check the data through LISTCUBE transaction.
    Hope this helps...

  • How do I set a custom time & date format in the top bar?

    Hello guys,
Very embarassing question, because I've had Apple's for all of my life (starting with the original Apple Macintosh) but I still haven't figured out one thing
How do I set a custom time & date format in the top bar?
When I go to System Preferences > Language & Text > Formats I can set different formats. I have no idea where you will see these, but I know that it's not the top bar where the time and date is being displayed. Because no matter what I enter, the format in the top bar will stay the same. I can only choose things like 24-Hour clock or not, blinking dots and so on in the Time & Date settings from the System Preferences.
Can anyone here point me in the right direction? I see you can even choose to display the week of the year - I'd love to do that!
    All help appreciated!
    Greetings

Language & Text system preferences, Formats tab, customize dates.
There are also many third party menu item utilities that can.  Search Macupdate.com for some.
One search yielded iClock Pro.  Although I never used it I would think it allows customization.  The link I gave you is to the Macupdate download page for that app.  On that same page is a Similar Software section which has other apps that can do the same thing.
One listed is iStat Menus.  The primary use for iStat Menus is not for displaying date/time but it does do that.  And I know it can do what you want because I use iStat Menus to track temperature sensors n my machine and, like you, I want to customize the menu time/date.  So I use it instead of the apple clock.  It does have the customization features I think you are looking for.

  • Inconsistent date formats between Rich Client and HTML client

    Hey All,
Just wondering if anyone has come across an issue with inconsistent date formats from a universe based on an MS SSAS 2012 database connection in 4.x?
The value of the date is returned as a string from the query but the object data type has been changed to a Date object meaning BusinessObjects should convert the string into a date if the format is correct.
The problem in this is that the date being returned in Rich Client is in dd/MM/yyyy format whereas on the Web Client is in MM/dd/yyyy.
From the Web Client business objects will return a date, however, it is a mix of MDY and DMY format.
i.e. 15th of March will be displayed as 15/03/2014
whereas 12th of March will be displayed as 03/12/2014
All our application servers are configured for English (Australian) regional settings meaning all dates should be in DMY format.
The date in the database is stored as a non-ambiguous yyyy-mm-dd format so it appears the variation is occurring somewhere between the database and BusinessObjects for the Web Client based reports only.
I have also checked the sqlsrv.prm file based format and changed this to DMY but this has also not made a difference.
The same universe in 3.1 and MS SSAS 2008 works correctly but not this one.

    Hi
The date in the database is stored as yyyy-mm-dd format.
As per user request.... Set the date format @ the Business layer level. so it will refelct same as in the WebI.
Please find the below link. how to use custom Display option.

  • Date format in IDT

    Hi,
I have an universe based on Teradata. I created a filter in IDT and it's like this :
    @Select(Sales\Calendar Day) =  @Prompt('Date:','D',,Mono,)
When I use this filter and execute a test query in IDT, the date format is shown different in these 2:
    Enter a value : 10.Feb.2015
    Date : 10.Feb .2015 00:00:00
I formatted the Calendar Day dimension and I can see it as 'mm/dd/yyyy' in the report result. That's fine.
However, I want to do the same for the prompt screen in IDT too. How can I do this?
The requirement is, I use the same filter for SAP Lumira and it does not provide a calendar component for date selection.
So, the format of date to pass to universe is not clear.
    Thank you!

    Hi
Try to change the format Cal day using below options, and then check the filter date format is showing as per your requirement
    predefined function TO_CHAR
Use the custom display format option.

    Hi,
Use DSTR method to change date format. Check the below link for details.

  • Hw can I generate XY graphs directly in a vector data format for printing ie pdf

A further question re. Printing of Graphs
There are many similar questions but none where the answers are acceptably adiquite or two or three were the link was broken,
"Developer exchange forums have been moved" and a pointer to the new
site, unfort it was hard to find or guess the rest of the link.
    So here is my angle on this problem;
    So far I have tried;
Using property node: "App.  Printing.Default Printer" to select the printer to use, then
    Using Report Functions to print controls;
New Report, to generate a new report reference
    Set Report Orientation
    Set Report Margins
    Set Report Font
    Set Report Header Text
    Set Report Font
    Set Report Footer Text
    loop for each page
Set Report Footer Text,     With page number
Append Control Image to Report,      several times
    New Report Page
Until the end of the last page
    Print Report
    Dispose Report
Initially using existing XY-Graph controls from the front panel.  These
are on a page of a Tab control to hide these controls while not in use
and allow them to be hidden while generating the printout.
Unfortunately when this page is hidden any graph scales set to
autoscale don't, (normally don't need to and would otherwise be a waste
of processor time), resulting in graph plots going off scale or
becoming a line along the axis.
An issue is that what is printed appears to be read from the screen, so resolution is much
lower than required for for printing, resulting in rather pixellated
printed versions. These prints will usually be emailed, so tried the
pdf995 "printer driver" but the resulting pdf file size is rather large.
Currently trying Plot-XY on a much larger picture so as to get
adequate resolution for printing, however suspect this will result in
much larger pdf files and probably cause other problems.
The preferred solution in this case will probably be to generate print
output, instead of based on raster images (ie jpg or png), but on a
vector format, maybe via postscript or directly in pdf format.
Similar graphs currently printed from Excel via pdf995
(or OpenOffice) result in files around 20 kb per page. these can be printed at any size
(at least upto 64 times) without becoming pixellated, so assume these
    are vector based.
Currently a page with 4 XY Graph controls uses around 40 to 45 kb per
page but resolution is poor and overcoming that may push file size up
to 150 to 200 kb per page, and the whole job can be 50 to 100 pages.
Are there any functions to generate XY graphs directly in a vector data format preferably in pdf or via PostScript format.
    Cheers
    Darryl

    Hi Darryl,
I was able to reproduce the issue you were seeing, in which a report generation was taking up a large amount of space per page in a PDF utility. I found; however, using my attached VI (notice that it is set to *.png) and the CutePDF utility (free download at http://www.cutepdf.com/) I was able to get a per page size of about 10 KB. Also using the png I found that the image quality seemed to be quite high.
Please try incorporating this solution into your application and see if it reduces your file sizes.
Thanks and have a good evening!

  • Date format in flat file is MM/DD/YYYY

I want to to change date format in flat file from MM/DD/YYYY to in info cube YYYYMMDD.
What is the step by step procedure to do this.

    Hi,
The date format should be YYYYMMDD in flat file.
IF the date format is not the above mentioned way, then you can change setting.
    Going to System in Menu
    System->User Profile->Own data.
Under Owndata you can change the date format to your requirement.
Check the below link also for detain info of coding:
