yes there is, almost anything is possible in a web application so probably a data grid too.
Might be nice idea to first give information about what you udnerstand under a datagrid before asking information on it.

I just stumbled across this thread as we are developing a stateless BSP application and plan to use model binding in it.
For our application the part of the models state that changes is displayed in the view in form fields, so our idea is to reload the model from the db in the doInitattributes-Method and let the model binding do the rest of the work filling in the values that changed in the view. It seems to work so far - so i guess persisting the state of the object to the db is only necessary when something changed that is not part of the view, right?
My second question is on Brians recommendation to use MVC only at exactly one level. Is using Sub-Controllers a problem when they have got their own model? I guess the extra work Brian mentions is all about telling the subcontrollers which model to load, right?
It would be good to know if there are any serious pitfalls when using a hierarchy of controllers instead of a controller with a collection of views.

Data Grid in JSP

I need to create a Data Grid on a JSP. It has to display data retrieved from database. I should be able to select a row and delete it from database.. I think I can manage the database stuff... But how dow I create the grid?

Let your backend return a list of data.
Put the list on the request (request.setAttribute...).
Use jstl tag like

Data Grid in BSP Application

Can somebody direct me with an example of displaying data in the form of a grid, and allowing users to update that grid, then saving those changes in a table?

A great place to start is by looking at the SAP Sample Application SBSPEXT_TABLE.
The BSP Extension you want is <htmlb:tableView>, probably the most powerful extension elment there is. You might search on documentation and weblogs that cover the table view as well as Table View Iterators. Here are couple of Weblogs that I found right off the bat.

How to click on linkbuttons in the rows of a data grid

I'm trying to write automation test cases for a flex application using Flex Selenium.
The flex selenium API provides only 2 click events: click(String objectId) and click(String objectId, String optionalButtonLabel)
There are no click events for rows or columns for a data grid.
The application has a DataGrid with 2 linkbuttons in a column for each row (besides other columns).
The linkbuttons have an id. But clicking it only clicks the one in the first row.
Now, I have to perform these tasks:
- Click on the link buttons in any row
- Click on any row
- Click on column header to sort
How can I accomplish these?

I am developing a J2EE application where I have the following scenario:
On a JSP Page there's a button 'Fetch' which when clicked fetches some dynamic records based on some criteria from the Oracle DB and displays them on the JSP page.
Now these records, say 50, have to be displayed in a table like format where the first column of every row will be a radio button.
Now as I click any one radio button and click on the submit button below my records table, the next page should read the entire record corresponding to that particularly clicked radio button.
In .NET , I have heard of Data Grids API doing this, but in Java I don't find any solution on how to implement this UI situation.
Any custom tags or API known to you for this, please share.

I think you all aren't able to interpret my problem statement correctly.I don't see any evidence of that. All I see is evidence that you didn't understand any of the responses.
If DataGrids and their action triggering would have been a plain HTML/Javascript thing then perhaps there hadn't been separate APIs in other web languages for this.The conclusion is that you should be using one of those, such as JSF, as you were already advised in all those inadequate responses. Alternatively you can continue to fantasize that such a facility is present in JSP when it isn't.

Can not open data grids or run reports in HFM

We created an application and have been working in it for weeks without any issues. Just recently once we open the app, we can longer open data grids or run financial grids. The system just hangs and we do not get an error message. Has anyone experienced this? We are wondering if it is a space issue on one of the data base tables.

I would start by checking with your DBA to see if you have any issues with table space. Next, i would log onto the HFM servers and see if you have any errors being recorded in the Application Event View. If you do have errors in your Event Viewer, can you please post them?

How to extract Slide data in 3rd part application from clipboard

I need to be able to copy/paste or drag/drop from PowerPoint into another application (C# WPF). In my OnDrop method the DragEventArgs Data has these formats:

What I'd like to do:
Open PowerPoint
In PPT open a presentation
In PPT select a slide
Drag it to my 3rd party WPF application
In the 3rd party WPF application drop handler get the slide data (text, background image, etc...).
When I do this I get the DragEventArgs Data (the clipboard data) and it has the 20 supported formats I listed in the 1st post. From these formats #4 seemed like it could have some useful info.

Hiding Column in Data Grid

Is there is way to hide a column in data grid column?
Is it possiblo to reorder the column like in excel . I know its not possible bcoz it <table> tag ...

Select the column within the table and in the property window uncheck the visible. You can also include visible="false" in the jsp page within the column tag.

User-Defined Type does not display values in Table Data grid

I have a User defined Type that is a collection of one character VARCHAR2 values. In the Table Data grid it does not display the character values. I know on all our other Oracle development applications these values display. Is this a bug or is there a snippet to display these values?

My custom Tool tip on spark data Grid don't work ?

I want to add panel component as my tooltip for each row in my Spark DataGrid. So when mouse rollover the user can see the information for each the ship. I want a panel as my tooltip for dataGrid cause I want to organize my data neatly and also place a image in the panel.

Ok I was getting ready to post the renderer code and then found the problem. I had copied this code from another renderer which had contentBackgroundAlpha=0 in the MXAdvancedDataGridItemRenderer tag. When I removed it, the style of the TextArea worked as intended. Your comment helped me to take a closer look at the renderer code, so thank you.
