Data integrator web administrator fails to pull batch job status

We use DB2 v8.1.17.644 with fixpack 17 database for the repository. With fix pack 10 everything worked properly. After the upgrade to fix pack 17 on database server residing on linux operating system and the data integrator server installed on windows 2003 server, it fails. Does anyone have the similar issues or a solution for this problem.

the issue with ALVW_HISTORY failing for DB2 is fixed in DS XI 3.1
for 11.7 you need to modify the view definition, the problem happens if you are using System configuration to run the Job. the view is failing to convert string to number
search for following in your view definition of ALVW_HISTORY
L.OBJECT_KEY      = CAST ( SC.VALUE as numeric)
and replace it with the following, it should work fine after that
CAST (L.OBJECT_KEY as char) = SC.VALUE

    Hi,
    For the profiler problem : you need to add the profiler repository to the web admin too (you can do this in the tree Management/Repositories). Next you need a webadmin user that is linked to this repo, you could use the admin user for that, just check in Management/Users that for this user the profiler repo is attached.
    Once this is set up in the management console, from within the designer, you can connect to the Profiling services using the web administrator's server name and port (e.g. localhost:28080) and the web admin user and password (e.g. admin/admin).
    For your second problem : please check the connection to the repo (I assume you added the direpo already to the web admin) . Again in the tree Management/Repositories go to the local repository connection you created and check the connection (there is a test button). If the connection is correct, you will see the job history (empty if there are no job executions), in the configuration page you will see a list of all jobs and can execute or schedule a job.
    Hope this helps...

  • Data flow task error failed validation and return validation status "VS_NEEDSNEWMETADATA"

    I have ETL with ~800 tables that I moving from Oracle to SQL Server (Prod Oracle -> Prod SQL)
    Now the Oracle/SQL new version was came from vendor that I need to test, and for that I created new DEV environments for Oracle and SQL , the update includes updated new columns in exists tables and new tables . (DEV Oracle -> DEV SQL)
    So what I tried to do is to take the old ETL(PROD) to change the connection to DEV servers.
    Then I executing the packages from local laptop it's working, and if I trying to execute the packages from job schedule it's giving me errors : "Data flow task error failed validation and return validation status "VS_NEEDSNEWMETADATA"
    I went to each table to check the columns if something different, and I was dropping some of the tables and recreated them in the destination but the error still shows. I also tried to change the package to "DelayValidation" to True but without
    success.

    I do not understand the difference between "... if I going to change the Connection Manager to new connection" and "didn't change the Connection Manager, only changed inside the Server name / user/ pass" 800 tables.
    What I see is some tables your packages sees in Dev (laptop) is not of the same schema once the package is deployed hence the metadata error.

  • Unable to install Data Integrator Job Server

    When attempting to install Business Objects XI (R2) Data Integrator I am unable to check the 'Job Server' component to be installed. I have tried all the different licenses and options we have available but am unable to get around this.
    Has anyone else experienced this before? Is there another forum that I should be looking for this type of thing?
    Thanks,
    Ben

    I was able to resolve this by using the following steps. Hope this helps anyone out there in the same boat...
    PRE-INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
    Data Integrator products are available for download from the ESD site at http://businessobjects.subscribenet.com. The License Authorization Code above gives you access to product license file generation. While your Data Integrator software order is being processed, you can prepare for installation by using the Authorization Code as follows:
    1)     Determine an installation plan.
    The plan should include which Data Integrator components will be installed on what computers. Only the Job Server licenses will require a hostid in order to generate the license files. Administrator, Designer, and Interfaces for Designer such as SAP R/3 ABAP, JD Edwards, or PeopleSoft do not require hostids in v6.5 and higher.
    2)     Download your license files:
    a)     Go to http://webkey.businessobjects.com on the Internet.
    b)     Copy the Authorization Code and paste it into the License Authorization text box.
    c)     Click the 'SUBMIT' button.
    The License Fulfillment page lists products in your order for which you can generate license file(s). This page allows you to generate license files one at a time, at your convenience. Only the Job Server licenses will require a hostid for versions 6.5 and higher.
    Note: if the computer has more than one network card, include all hostids separated by a space to create a nodelocked license file. To determine the hostid on Windows machines, run autorun.exe from the CD or the Data Integrator directory. When autorun.exe brings up the splash screen select the "GET HOSTID" button.
    To determine the hostid on HP machines, run \unix\hpux1100\lmhostid from the mounted CD or the Data Integrator directory. Or use the lmhostid -long command for HP-Itanium.
    To determine the hostid on SUN machines, run \unix\sunos\lmhostid from the mounted CD or the Data Integrator directory.
    To determine the hostid on AIX machines, run \unix\aix430\lmhostid from the mounted CD or the Data Integrator directory.
    Note: For Windows installations, select the "Ethernet" hostid type.
    For UNIX installations, select "Long" hostid type.
    d)     Save each license file in with a *.lic extension in the planned location. For the Data Integrator installation program to complete successfully, you are required to point to the location of the license file(s) associated with the component(s) you are installing.

    My integrated GPU just failed. Using GFX card status I have my AMD permanently selected and the macbook pro is running fine.

  • Data Integrator treating VARCHAR like LONG

    Data Integerator 11.7 If I map two or more fields from a source table to a target Oracle table, I get the ORA-01461 error, where it thinks I am dealing with LONG columns, when they are VARCHAR2(1200). It works for just one VARCHAR2(1200).

    I found the solution after hours of testing.
    In order for Data Integrator to recognize the proper INPUT and OUTPUT status of stored procedures on Sybase, the procedures must be defined with no brackets ( ) around the parameters
    Example:
    CREATE PROCEDURE pPublDWHProceedExtract
    @tablenamevc      varchar(30) = 'all',
    @action      varchar(30),
    @schedule      int,
    @offset int = 0,
    @valid      int output
    instead of
    CREATE PROCEDURE pPublDWHProceedExtract (
    @tablenamevc      varchar(30) = 'all',
    @action      varchar(30),
    @schedule      int,
    @offset int = 0,
    @valid      int output)

  • How to upload data into CRM using batch job

    Hello,
    I got some problem and need some hints.
    I am uploading data from a flat text file (product data) into CRM using thefunction module GUI_UPLOAD. My program starts with a selection screen whereI enter the path and the filename of the program, then I click start, and
    the data is transferred in CRM. This works perfect, and I can automaticallycreate service products in CRM.
    Here comes the PROB:
    But now I want to automize this procedure using a batch job that automatically picks up the file from the server and processes it automatically without any user interaction. BUT I always get an error saying that my function module GUI_UPLOAD can't run in batch mode. So
    anyone has an idea how to do this? Any other function modules that can run in batch mode? Any other ideas?
    Thx very much for ur help on this.

    Hi Bill,
    GUI_UPLOAD, like the name says, uses the SAPGUI to upload the data to theserver.. and in a batch job, you don't have the connection to a SAPGUI.
    So you should use following kind of coding:
    DATA MSG(100).
    OPEN DATASET "FILENAM" FOR INPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT MESSAGE
    MSG.
    IF sy-subrc = 0.
    DO.
    READ DATASET "FILENAM" INTO [Your internal table].
    IF sy-subrc <> 0.
    EXIT.
    ENDIF.
    APPEND [Your internal table]P_DATA.
    ENDDO.
    ENDIF.
    The file should then be available on the server.

  • Batch job creation

    Hi,
    I have a couple of invoice documents which seems to be created by batch job. The created by field in the invoice shows batchuser.
    Now when i see in SM37 for that particular date, i am unable to see any batch jobs for billing.
    Hence i am wondering what event could possibly have triggered these billing docs.
    These are rebate related billing.
    Could anyone suggest any pointers as to how to identify how these docs were created.
    Regards,
    Ramesh

    Generally Bach jobs list is archived after few days. If the log is archived you can see the list in SM37.
    You can check with your BASIS consultant for setting Archiving dates for the Background jobs.

  • Batch jobs getting delayed

    Dear all
    We are running batch job for autamatic invoice after Post goods issue..
    It was working till y'day and suddenly it is not getting executed .It shows a huge delay..
    Batch job program was SDBILLDL
    Can u please tell us what could be problem for delay in batch job execution...
    Batch job status is released...But not getting executed every 15mts
    How to find out which has caused delay...for batch job running...
    Regards
    Sudha

    There can be two reasons.
    1. If the data or the number of documents being processed is huge.
    2. If there is an error or wrong data being picked up in any one of the document can lead to batch job being slow.

  • JDev Integrated Web Logic Server fails

    I'm a newbie with WLS. I've installed JDEV 11.1.1.3 in Windows XP SP3, and installed extensions for Webcenter.
    Now trying to go through webcenter tutorial, I arrived at point where I'm trying to run a small application,
    but nothing works. I've searched and searched the internet for clues, help, and tried multiple things, but nothing helps.
    First, I get the warning message
    Warning> <Server> <BEA-002611> <Hostname "XXX", maps to multiple IP addresses: 10.10.10.10, 169.254.25.129, 192.168.2.6
    and then when I disable all the network connections for these IPs, just to see if this would help,
    then the server appears to start successfully, but the tutorial app that compiled successfully does not start to run in any brower.
    I go through the properties of the Application Server for the Integrated Web Logic Server to test the connection and I get

    I have no clue, and trying different configurations does not help.
