Data Manager jobs not running
All
Does anyone know whether data manager jobs that don't appear in your schedule status still run behind the scenes?
The majority of times, our DM jobs don't start the first time you run them (known problem with out version 5.1 SP3 I believe?) however looking at the SQL box, there is an entry in the DTSLog table with a status of running, and there are files created in the webfolders of the user running the job.
Does this mean that the job is still running?
If it is still running, is there are way of identifying it and stopping it?
Thanks
Hi Miheala
I can see the 2 TMP files and 1 LOG file relating to the job in the private publications, but none have been updated since the job was attempted. The LOG file is empty.
As far as we are concerned from the user point of view, the job never even started, however I am concerned that on the SQL server the job is still trying to run.
Any other ideas?
Thanks

Data manager jobs taking too long or hanging
Hoping someone here can provide some assistance with regard to the 4.2 version. We are specifically using BPC/OutlookSoft 4.2SP4 (and in process of upgrading to BPC7.5). Three server environment - SQL, OLAP and Web.
Problem: Data manager jobs in each application of production appset with five applications are either taking too long to complete for very small jobs (single entity/single period data copy/clear, under 1000 records) or completely hanging for larger jobs. This has been an issue for the last 7 days. During normal operation, small DM jobs ran in under a minute and large ones taking only a few minutes.
Failed attempts at resolution thus far:
1. Processed all applications from the OLAP server
2. Confirmed issue is specific to our appset and is not present in ApShell
3. Copied packages from ApShell to application to eliminate package corruption
4. Windows security updates were applied to all three servers but I assume this would also impact ApShell.
5. Cleared tblDTSLog history
6. Rebooted all three servers
7. Suspected antivirus however, problem persists with antivirus disabled on all three servers.
Other Observations
There are several tables in the SQL database named k2import# and several stored procedures named DMU_k2import#. My guess is these did not get removed because I killed the hung up jobs. I'm not sure if their existence is causing any issues.
To make the long story short, how can I narrow down at which point the jobs are hanging up or what is taking the longest time? I have turned on Debug Script but I don't' have documentation to make sense of all this info. What exactly is happening when I run a Clear package? At this point, my next step is to run SQL Profiler to get a look into what is going on behind the scenes on the sql server. I also want to rule out the COM+ objects on the web server but not sure where to start.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Thank you,
HiteshHi ,
The problem seems to be related to database. Do you have any maintenance plan for database?
It is specific for your appset because each appset has own database.
I suspect you have to run an sp_updatestats (Update Statistics) for your database and I think the issue with your jobs hang will be solved.
DMU_K2_importXXX table are coming from hang imports ...you can delete these tables because it is just growing the size of database and for sure are not used anymore.

I have already solved the problem , I have done the following actions:
1. Stop J2EE engine
2. rename folder
/usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/j2ee/os_libs/adssap
Please rename this adssap folder to adssap.old
3. Start J2EE engine
During starting J2EE engine, folder adssap will be re-generated.
4. Also make sure XMLform.exe is extracted under
/usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/j2ee/os_libs/adssap/XMLFormService/bin
I restarted the entire instance (ABAP and JAVA) and now all is running fine. -
Convert Spool to PDF and mail for the jobs not run in background.
Dear All,
I need to convert the spool job into pdf and mail as attachment for job not run in background.
I am printing the bills using the program SD70AV3A to print the bills in a batch using the SUBMIT.
But i am not using the spool options since its going to into waiting state in spool...and i need to change the printer properties to G
to get the printer to print the reports as these jobs run in backgroud....but this solution is not acceptable solution.
SUBMIT SD70AV3A
WITH RG_KSCHL-LOW = 'ZRR'
WITH RG_NACHA-LOW = '1'
WITH PM_VERMO = '2'
WITH PM_NSORT = '1'
WITH RG_VBELN IN range.
* TO SAP-SPOOL
* SPOOL PARAMETERS print_parameters
* WITHOUT SPOOL DYNPRO
* VIA JOB name NUMBER number
* AND RETURN.
so how do i get the spool number from the above after the job is submitted....and then convert into pdf and mail
please suggest some solution. I have searched on net but most the solutions are say to run the job as background job...
i have also looked into the program RSTXPDFT4 but it asks for the spool id ....how can i get spool id for the job that has been completed.
please suggest some solution.
Thanks
Bhargava.Hi,
Spool to PDF : FM 'CONVERT_ABAPSOOLJOB_2_PDF'
Table TSP01 to get spool number
You ,may need to convert OTF to PDF: FM CONVERT_OTF
and the to binary : FM 'SMCS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY'
To send mail use class: cl_document _bcs.

Remote manager is not running but it is running as per DC
I have installed remote manager on windows 2008 R2 server recently to create exchange mail boxes. And I followed the instructions given in oracle documentation while installing this remote manager.
Windows 2008 server R2 is a 64 bit OS so installed 64 bit java version in it. OIM version is 9.1.0.
As we are trying to SSL connection to the remote machince, imported certificates on both OIM server and also on remote machine.
But when I try to provision exchange account for a user, the creation of mail box is getting failed at the task "CheckRemoteManager Connection" saying "Remote manager is not running". But in design console it says that the remote manager is running.
Here is the response from the task:
Response: Exchange remote manager not running
Response Description: Check if Remote Manager parameters are entered correctly
When I bypass the task "checkRemoterManager Connection" in the adatper "Create mail box" then I am getting the below error.
Response: error during JRMP connection establishment; nested exception is: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeExcept
Response Description: Unknown response received
Error Details:
Setting task status... "error during JRMP connection establishment; nested exception is: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeExcept" does not correspond to a known Response Code. Using "UNKNOWN".
Can you please let me know what might be the problem?
Here is the log.

I just upgraded to mountain lion osx and now my applications are crossed out and out of date. they will not run. how do i fix this?
Here is a recent post I assembled for a similar question:
Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta. Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion). While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
Workarounds:
1. If your Mac will support it, restore OS X Snow Leopard;
2. If your Mac will support it, partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it and use the "dual-boot" method to choose between your PowerPC software or Lion/Mt. Lion;
3. Upgrade your software to Intel compatible versions if they are available, or find alternative software that will open, modify and save your data files;
3. Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels:

i am getting the following error wen tryin to open the console The Data access service not running or not yet initialized. on scom 2012 R2 before it was working fine but once i closed the console and open got the error
OS : Windows 2012r2 patched and scom 2012 r2
sql : 2012 r2 enuff database size

Basit Siddiqui
AIGCheck that following:
Verify permission of SCOM Account on sysadmin and OM DB.
Check firewall that is disable
Check antivirus that didn't block scom folders or services.
Check SQL services is running
Check Space of database at 5 GB as you configured. It is best practice to set the db size at a reasonable size and not to set to autogrowth.
Also you can check below link

DPM 2012 R2 Upgrade - Scheduled jobs not running
Hi,
We're having an issue after upgrading to DPM 2012 R2 where the scheduled jobs are not running.
We're running Server 2012 R2 with SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2.
Looking at SQL jobs, if we run the job step we get an error.
Message
[136] Job 18822c3e-8fe 7-47a2-bb6e-0feccecc2952 reported: The process could not be created for step 1 of job 0xA746B176EAD99943A14A57DAF684829F (reason: %1 is not a valid Win32 application)
However, if we place quotes around the triggerjob.exe path in the SQL default job step:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\DPM\DPM\bin\TriggerJob.exe" 9b30d213-b836-4b9e-97c2-db03c3eb39d7 18822c3e-8fe7-47a2-bb6e-0feccecc2952 server.domainname.com
It is successful.
We've already uninstalled DPM 2012 R2 and re-installed, restored the database and run dpmsync -sync with the same result. We've checked the DCOM Config Launch and Activation Permissions for Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 Data Protection Manager Service
and has full access.
Has anyone else had this issue and been able to resolve it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.Hi,

JIs your crontask not running at all or is the scheduled task failing?
Hey Tommy I sent you some replies yesterday; don't know what happened to them. Yes I can see that crond runs every ten minutes. Also when I created the crontab file using the command you sent here I could see that it was running every minute by looking at root mail in /var/log.
Do you have execute permission set on the scripts?
Yes
Any info in /var/log/messages or e-mail?

ArunThings that you'll need.
1. JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES to be non-zero
2. A commit after submitting the job
3. The job not to be broken.
4. don't schedule very frequently (say <5s) if the os is Linux :( ).
I'd check in the above order.

SQL Server Agent Jobs- Not running
Team,
We have a production database hosted on SQL Server 2008R2 SP2(10.50.4000). We have application jobs which are scheduled and basically have packages called from this job. These jobs were running all good till yesterday and it has stopped working since yesterday
even though its enabled. Manual runs are successful. Other jobs are running fine.
Checked the Owner of these jobs and the account is SQL Server account which is a proxy account. It had enforce password policy. I have removed that and reset the password to original. However it didnt work.
The last change on this server was windows patching which was performed last week. Apart from that the SQL Server agent service was changed. This is a clustered environment.
The last resort is restart the agent, however would like to get some inputs before I perform this action.
Please let me know your valuable inputs.
Regards,
SharathIf job is not executed at all, that is, there are no entries in the job history, check:
1) The job is enabled.
2) The schedule(s) is enabled.
3) The scdedule does not have an end date has has passed.
4) And that all other conditions on the schedule says that the job should run.

I just installed two databases on the same server. The one's EM is running fime no prob. The other, the EM doesn't want to open completely it says: Enterprise Manager is not able to connect to the database instance. The state of the components are listed below.
And the database is open, I can run sql queries against the DB, but EM says it's down, the listener is up and the Agent connectio to database is down?
Have anyone ever encounterd this?This is wierd there is nothing in the logs and when I status the agent in sqlplus:

Job not running in DBA_Jobs
Hi,
We have a job set in dba_jobs.
Suddenly after 31st mar-2011 the job is not running
The job of 31st mar 2011 is still in active state and exists in the database
The details of the job are as follows:
SELECT r.sid, r.job, r.this_date, r.this_sec, SUBSTR(what,1,40) what
FROM dba_jobs_running r,dba_jobs j
WHERE r.job = j.job;
SID JOB THIS_DATE THIS_SEC
439 65709 31-MAR-11 06:31:54
A OS process also exists
oracle 11130 1 0 Mar 31 ? 1:51 ora_j000_GAT
SQL> select status, to_char(logon_time,'dd-mm-yyyy:hh24:mi:ss') from v$session where sid=439;
STATUS TO_CHAR(LOGON_TIME,
ACTIVE 31-03-2011:06:31:29
SQL> select THIS_DATE,NEXT_DATE from dba_jobs where job=65709;
THIS_DATE NEXT_DATE
31-MAR-11 31-MAR-11
In long running SQL
439 SELECT TO_CHAR(HPEOP_EIN) EMPLID, NVL(HP GAT_OWNER 31-03-11:06:31:29 ACTIVE
EOP_GRADE,' ') JOBCODE, NVL(HPEOP_PREFER
RED_PHONE,' ') BT_PREFERRED_COMMS, NVL(H
The jobs usually take 1-5 mins
Can you please advice what needs to be done
What could have happened.Can you kill the job from the OS?
Then stop the job from running : set it to broken
Find out why it doesn't stop this time: look in code and data.
If you are confident it will not happen again schedule the job again. -
Jobs not running anymore since midnight
All my jobs that run minutely, half minutely, 10 minutely, hourly are all last run tonight before midnight.
Next run date was set to the correct time after midnight but they did not start.
Its a rac database under 64bit windows, 10.2.0.3.
Its acutally two databases and on one stopping and starting instances one by one helped.
On the other one the jobs (at least did run, or at least the next run data got updated) by the starting and stopping instances, but they still do not run at there regular intervals.
Currently i am trying with one job, disabling, enabling, changing the schedule, it runs occassionaly but not ever half minute as it should.
I did all the checks, no jobs running, there are not too many sessions, the job_queue parameters are correct....
There is nothing in the alert log, only thing i can find is:
jsksGetCurWindowId:1 got error 27468
in the cjq0 logfile.
Any further ideas or sugestions ?Do you use Oracle Scheduler (DBMS_SCHEDULER)?
If yes...
select * from DBA_SCHEDULER_GLOBAL_ATTRIBUTE where attribute_name='CURRENT_OPEN_WINDOW';
What do you find "Window group"?
If you find and then close it...
Example:
SQL> select * from DBA_SCHEDULER_GLOBAL_ATTRIBUTE where attribute_name='CURRENT_OPEN_WINDOW';
ATTRIBUTE_NAME VALUE
CURRENT_OPEN_WINDOW WEEKNIGHT_WINDOW
SQL> exec DBMS_SCHEDULER.close_window ('WEEKNIGHT_WINDOW');
If you use dbms_job, then try
SQL> show parameter job_queue_processes
NAME TYPE VALUE
job_queue_processes integer 50
SQL> alter system set job_queue_processes=0;
SQL> alter system set job_queue_processes=50;
