Hi guys,
whats the datatype mapping for xsd:anytype in Apache axis? Im posting data to a WebService but its giving me error at one of the parameters as it expects Array.

By using array shoud be no problem, It' more better, you use the tools in Axis to create the *.wsdl, then generate java server and client code. If it doesn't work, don't change *.wsdl, you need change the stub code to add the correct type mapping serializing method. In my case, I can translate any complix java object(selbst defined) array by using RPC call. For attachement, you can still translate DataHandler array by using RPC

vsAfter you create the partner link and the invoke (to create the variables), change the element type of the response message to the complex type definition of your collection that appears in the XSD. You can do the same thing if you want to change the element type of the payload of the request message as well.

Schema Data Type in SOAP Web Service while using Integration Gateway in SMP 3.0
Hi Experts,
I was working on Integration gateway component of SMP 3.0.3 where we can have oData services which connect to different data source from SMP and finally we have to consume from SMP. Here I have an SOAP Web service where there is Schema Data type which is an xml structure and because of that while doing the data modelling with Design time tools I am not able to map the properties as there aren't any as only the parent level Schema type is available in the SOAP Web Services. Please see the below image for reference :
So now I have 2 inputs no problems for design as such then I have the schema for that which comes as a output response which is where I am facing the issue as we don't have that Data Structure itself so how are we going to map that. I have seen some thin possibilities with Custom Scripts with SMP SP06 where this will help us to process the request and response at runtime with JS/Groovy. So needed some lights on this schema data type on Integration Gateway component of SMP 3.0.3 which we are planning to upgrade to SP06 as well so it will be a good starting point for this as well
Also have concerned my good friend Rakshit Doshi for this as well.

AppleScript Call Soap Data types
I am using AppleScript to issue SOAP requests via built-in the 'call soap' function. The server to which I am connecting uses both simple and complex data types. It's pretty straight forward issuing the basic parameters for simple data types, but if the remote method requires a complex data type, such as a double set of parameters, I can't see how to get it done.
Anyone have any experience sending SOAP requests with AppleScript that involved complex data types, which include multiple parameters, rather than just simple flat parameter lists?Hi,

Surely it would be better to evaluate off a sample employee/departments or predefined database schema if you want to see what the UI / design process is like?
The design process is very smooth and elegant in JDev 11g if you use the business components from tables wizard in the model and then design pages.

Linking x-axis of two graphs (with seperate data types)
Hi all,
I am plotting a sine wave and a resulting waveform generated after driving a component with that sine wave.
I have 2 data types:
i) One is a waveform - of the sine wave
ii) The other is a cluster - resulting from two arrays (DBL)
Ideally I would like to display both of these on a single plot. But I can't seem to do that. If you know how to do this, then please let me know.
So, the next solution was to display them on a waveform chart and XY-plot, respectively.
Is there some way of linking the x axis, such that when I zoom into one plot, I simultaneously zoom into the other?

Then you can have a separate scale for each plot. All plots on one graph with separate scales... you've got your cake and you can eat it too!

We have built a webservice and deployed it on WLS. We accessed this from a swing
client it works fine.The webservice methods uses non-built in JAVA data types
as parameters.These are Value Objects and the JAVA Serializer and Deserializer
classes are generated using Ant task itself.The client coding uses Value objects
given by the Client_jar (generated using <Clientgen> ant task) to pass to the
webservice. We dont want to go by this way.Is there anyway were in we can pass

will be able to exceute my webservice (i.e., passing the required Object which

Well first off, your web service doesn't send or receive "objects". It only sends
and recieves XML, which is in turn converted to/from Java objects at invocation
time. Second, a .NET (or Perl, or Python, or C++) client will be able to call
your web service, because the wsdl.exe tool (for .NET) will generate "programming
language specific" objects from the <types><schema> elements, in the WSDL of your
web service :-) The wsdl.exe tool will create C# objects from the WSDL, that will
convert XML to/from C# when your web service is called. That's the beauty of XML
schema - it's a "universal typing system", so it's not tied to a particular programming
language. The only issue is whether or not the web services platform vendor's
XML Schema/WSDL processor, can successfully process the WSDL. Some vendors have
more complete implementations of the WSDL and XML Schema specs than others, so
expect varying success here. The one in WLS 7.0 is pretty good, so you shouldn't
have too many problems consuming WSDL generated by .NET tools (or any other tool
for that matter).

Cuurently i am working on Synchronous scenario.
My scenario is ABAP Client Proxy> PI>AXIS SOAP ADAPTER(Webservice).
My client requirement is to use UsernameToken security with PasswordDigest.
I have deployed all the relevant .jar files and add the modules related to usernameToken security as per *SAP Note 1039369 FAQ XI Axis Adapter* in Receiver SOAP adapter.
Now when i am pushing the data from R/3 to PI, data is successfully coming to PI however when the data is going outside PI through Receiver AXIS SOAP Adapter in RWB is showing

In the above wsdl the collection of fintObjInst if of type xs:anytype. From the wsdl, I do not see the xsd mapping for AccountIC which includes Name and Desc. Due to which, when invoking the web service from a different client like c#(by creating proxy business service), I am unable to set the parameters for AccountIC. I am using JAX-WS stack and WLS 10.3. I have already looked at blog http://weblogs.java.net/blog/kohlert/archive/2006/10/jaxws_and_type.html but unable to solve this issue. However, at run time using a tool like SoapUI, when this wsdl is imported, I am able to see all the params related to AccountIC class.
Can some one help me with this.

Sudha.Did you try adding the the XmlSeeAlso annotation to the webservice
@XmlSeeAlso({<package.name>.AccountIC.class})
This will add the schema for the data type (AccountIC) to the WSDL.

Type mismatch on SOAP Web Service method invocation
When I run the generated client for a web service, I get the following error, which I can get rid of by using a primitive type (e.g. String) as the parameter to doSomething instead of wstest.test2.APIClass3, i.e. the SOAP server seems happy handling wstest.test2.APIClass1 as a return type, but not a similar class as a parameter type:

I am using JDeveloper9i 9.0.3 Preview and the standalone OC4J 9.0.3 that came with it. I followed the Oracle9i JDeveloper 9.0.3 Web Services Quickstart Install (http://otn.oracle.com/tech/webservices/htdocs/quickstart/quickstart903.html) to get OC4J running standalone. I had to register the stateless EJB provider, and the WEB services wizard didn't manage to include APIClass2 (an instance of which is contained in APIClass1) in the .dd so I added it manually which works fine with APIClass1 as the method return type.

JDBC insert with XMLTYPE data type
Hi,
SOAP to JDBC scenario. Oracle 11G as a receiver.
Requirement is to insert whole xml payload message in one of Oracle table fields as a xml string. Target oracle DB table column is defined with XMLTYPE data type, it has capacity to hold xml data more than 4GB. I am using graphical mapping with direct INSERT statement.
When I try to insert xml payload with smaller size transaction goes through. However when the xml payload size increases it is giving following error in JDBC receiver communication channel monitoring.
Could not execute statement for table/stored proc. "TABLE_NAME" (structure "StructName") due to java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01704: string literal too long
Here is insert statement as in communication channel monitoring. (Note: XML payload with bold characters is truncated)
INSERT INTO TABLE_NAME (REQ_ID, OUTAGE_OBJ, TIMESTAMP, PROCESSED_FLAG) VALUES (VAL1, <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>............</>, TO_DATE(2010-11-15 10:21:52,YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS), N)
Any suggestions to handle this requirement?

The problem here is definitely the length of the SQL query. i.e "INSERT INTO ......... VALUES......."
This is what i got when i searched for this ORACLE error code:
ORA-01704: string literal too long
Cause: The string literal is longer than 4000 characters.
Action: Use a string literal of at most 4000 characters. Longer values may only be entered using bind variables.
Please ask a ORACLE DB expert on how to handle this Also i am not sure how can we handle Bind Varibales in SAP PI.

Problem with datetime data type in Web Service
Hi,
I created local ABAP proxy based on a WSDL and some of the fields for the SOAP methods has data type datetime:

name="MsgStatus" type="s:string"/>
Since ABAP stack doesnt support dataTime data type it has created the proxy method with data type STRING. Now when I call the proxy method (consuming the service) I get an error:
<CODE>SoapFaultCode:4</CODE>
<ERRORTEXT>Server was unable to read request. --> There is an error in XML document (1, 626). --> String was not recognized as a valid DateTime.</ERRORTEXT>
I am sure others have faced the same issue. Can someone help?
ThanksThanks but I dont think that link is much relevant to the problems I am facing, because I cannot change the web service definition as it is used by many others. Also the target application runs on oracle so thats why some of the fields are datetime and I dont want to change that, even if I could.
I am just stuck in creating the wrapper program to call the service since the SAP converts datetime data type to string and when the messages gets to the application it cannot convert string -> datetime.

My scenario is SOAP-XI-SOAP. After doing configuration, I was alble to send the message to server. However, I was not able retrieve data at return.
The following are two xml message that I got from server response and from XI.

I believe there is something wrong with my data type definition at XI design. I followed the example "How To Use the XI 3.0 SOAP Adapter".
Would anyone please tell me how to define Data Type at XI for data response? Besides, does it have anything to do with Mapping Template.

I agree with you. I saw the difference between the response message at the Message Mapping and Message response :
At Message Mapping, the xml message is displayed as :
