Database Jobs Notifications do now work

I created a new rule in Grid Control 10.2 to notify me when my RDBMS jobs fail.
I set the rule to notify me if the status meets any of the following conditions:
Scheduled, Started, Suspended, Succeeded, Problem.
My e-mail notifications seem to work fine on any of the canned OS alerts but not on this custom notification rule I set up. I want to be nofified by e-mail when any of my database jobs change status or specifically fail.
EM Test e-mail message tests sucessfully.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

No replies from the field as of yet. I am finding there is a difference on how Oracle handles Scheduler Jobs and Jobs in the Jobs Activity page in Grid. My custom notification rule is working for the Jobs listed in the Jobs Activity Page. I am now trying to figure out how to make the rule work against the jobs listed in the scheduler jobs table under jobs under database administration in Grid Control.

SQL Agent Job Notification - Database Mail problem

I'm a little stumped. Have setup database mail on SQL Server 2008 (SP1 x64) and its working fine except when its supposed to send out a SQL Agent job notification.
I've enabled database mail on SQL Agent and have specified a profile, but when it tries to send an email on agent job completion it errors with "NOTE: Failed to notify '<operator>' via email."
Can anybody help?

As suggested above, try these steps.
1. Try test email first, this can be by done (right click on database mail under mangement folder). prior to that you should already have a profile configured to send the emails and make sure you got the right SMTP server and do not block
port 25.
2.If test is succeeds, enable mail option under sql server agent properties and select 'database mail' and corresponding profile.Add the reciepents email to the operators under sql server agent(check the enabled option here). Restart the SQL sever
here.
3. Create your sql job and in the notifcations section you should see email option and should have the operator email you configured above.
Try it out. let us know. Hope it helps.
If the test succeeds and still you did not get the email from sql job, check the database mail log and check whether it is being queued. let us know.

Generate New Database Job Not Working

I am trying to synchronize my web client with the server database and when I run the Generate New Database job (Administration - Server Management > Jobs), the job fails with the error SBL-GDB-00004: Error in Main Function.

Hi,
Make sure to set the ODBCINI environment variable. The variable must point to the path from the root directory to the system information file where your data source resides. The system information file can have any name, but the product is installed with a default file called odbc.ini in the product installation directory.
For example, if you use an installation directory of /opt/odbc and the default system information file, from the Korn or Borne shell, you would enter:
ODBCINI=/opt/odbc/odbc.ini; export ODBCINI
From the C shell, you would enter:
setenv ODBCINI /opt/odbc/odbc.ini

PL/SQL notification is not working

We are using PL/SQL notification procedure to de-queue AQ in our application. Now the notification is not working in development instance whereas it is working in Live. The database parameter job_queue_processes was having value 0 in development database and it is now reset to 10. Still the problem exists. Please let us know what could be other reasons for failure of PL/SQL notification in AQ.

Sometimes could not view Database job icon in Jobs page

In dev Tidal with admin access, sometimes the 'Database job' is missing on the main 'Jobs' page. Like the one below is missing the icon:
So the job details are not appearing.
This is happening in Windows 7 and in Windows XP no issues. The version of Tidal client is 5.3.1.
Could some one let me know what needs to be done to fix this issue?

Copied the client folder contents to a new folder(DEV) inside of Client and changed the properties of the Tidal client to reflect it:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\TIDAL\Scheduler\Client\DEV"
This seems to be working now.

Database job- load/cost for database

How much database gets slower when new Jobs are created in database?
I understand that Job is a kind of Timer that database engine needs to run and it is a kind of loop which check weather the schedule time has arrived now or not to run some code. So this loop may make database slower i think. But not much i guess?
I have very busy/loaded database and i don't want to make database more slower. I thought maybe i should to cron-job on the operating system level, so that database wont get mor load/work with bothering Job' handling.

Using Database Change Notification instead of After Insert Trigger

Hello guys! I have an after insert trigger that calls a procedure, which in turn is doing an update or insert on another table. Due to mutating table errors I declared the trigger and procedure as autonomously transactional. The problem is, that old values of my main tables are inserted into the subtable since the after insert/update trigger is fired before the commit.
My question is how can I solve that and how could I use the change notification package to call my procedure? I now that this notification is only started after a DML/DDL action has been commited on a table.
If you could show me how to carry out the following code with a Database Change Notification I'd be delighted. Furthermore I need to know if it suffices to set up this notification only once or for each client seperately?

It looks like you have an error in line 37 of your code. Once you fix that the problem should be resolved.

Out of nowhere my iMessage,FaceTime,YouTube and push notifications will not work!! I get an activation error saying that there is a problem with my network. I've tried everything I have read, but still no success. My iPad and all of its apps have worked perfectly since Christmas, and without doing anything differently this happened one morning!! I have tried changing the DNS, I have turned wifi off and on, I've tried connecting elsewhere, restarting my whole iPad, soft reset and hard reset. Resettled my wifi. And still NOTHING!!! Notification center not working (iOS 5.0.1)

     Hello Guys, the notification center was working okay on my iPod from 4th Gen. but these days it stopped working and I just get notifications from e-mail (when I get in the app), weather, stock, reminders. It happened some time after using iOS 5.0.1.
     I know the configs for notifications are all right and I already tried to restore it without backup 3 times, it's just driving me crazy. All the others apps such as eBuddy, Facebook, Twitter doesn't send me notifications and at least Facebook and eBuddy used to.
     Can someone please help me? I also have the battery issue and I'm waiting for an update.
PS: I already used another iPod on the same network and it received the notifications normally, I even compared the settings.

P.S. (Sorry, new to the forum): I already looked a million times in google and in this forum and I couldn't find any answers to this problem (the reason why I came here). I could set Facetime and iMessage to work before but after the restore I can't do it anymore, Viber also ask me to enable Push Notifications when it's already enabled. No notifications appears to me, for example when you are using eBuddy and you exit and use app, a notification to a new conversation appears to you or when you receive a Mention on twitter.

In background job how commit & rollback work works?

My requirement is, to fetch all sales order items based on some condition and load them into one table say OCC1 in job J1. Now the second requirement is to upload the job information J1 with job name, user name, end date in second table say OCC2 in job J2.
My question is if there is some error I found while processing job 2 I have to rollback entire work which means I have to remove all records those I have inserted in to table OCC1. Can any one suggest me how to handle such problem? Some how I am able to create two job and update the tables. However, what about rollback work? Whether there is an implicit commit work after every background job? I am working on SAP 4.6C version.

I think by using just ROLL BACK work it will not rollback your first job's data.
You need to make some mechanism which can delete the data from OCC1 if the J2 got error.

There is no rows returned.

How to use the database change notification event with an AppModule Child ?

This example works fine, but I want an Application Module Root which contains the Application Module which contains the VO where there is the method processDatabaseChangeNotification.
I have trying all the configuration possible of AppModuleRoot and AppModuleChild: Shared/Local, Local/Shared and even Local/Local ... but nothing works ...

Job notification - Invoking a procedure

We are trying to get job notification email for success/fail. If it is failed we want to get the error details. The default mechanism is not allowing to get the error details.
1.I heared that by using job notifications/notification rules we could invoke a custom procedure. Oracle is giving a object from which we can get all details about the job.
Is it true?
2. Can we able to do this for job?
3. If yes, can we able to get full details in this object? like divided by zero error happend in the called procedure of the job.

And for each step of the script i check the result and send a mail with the OK or with the ERROR.
The problem is that i dont know if this is possible in WINDOWS. You need a program that send mails and this must be runing in cmd.
A friend of my company, say me that exist a shell enviroment that his functionality is very similar to linux. His name is cigwin.
Other option more complex is to use the DBMS_ALERTpackage, but only for SQL SCRIPTS jobs
