Database Patch Information

Hi everyone,
I just applied my first patch on my 10.2.0.1.0 Oracle Database, and I would like to know how can I find the latest patch applied on my DB ?
Cause I have some more databases to apply and I do know if some patch has been applied before. Are there any view to look at ? I've tried v$version but even apllying the patch it hasn't changed.
Cheers.
Fernando

  • CSA MC Install error: Unable to load patch information

When we try to install CSA MC 5.2.0.263 (and 5.2.0.203) on Windows Server 2003 Ent Ed (or R2) we receive error:
"Unable to load patch information into the database"
How to solve the given error?

Just a couple things to check. If running the CSA agent on the MC make sure its disabled during the upgrade
You have enough free space in the installation directory

  • CSA 6.0 will not install. Crashes on Patch Information.

I have tried to install CSA 6.0 a few times and it crashes on "Unable to load patch information into database. setup will now abort". can anyone tell me why this keeps happening. I have installed 5.2 just fine but I want to use 6.

If you encounter problems with installing or uninstalling the CSA, perform the following tasks:
    • Verify that you rebooted the server.
    • Verify that the Cisco Security Agent service is not disabled and that its Startup Type value is
    Automatic.
    • Obtain the installation logs from :\Program Files\Cisco\CSAgent\log. Review the
Cisco Security AgentInstallInfo.txt and driver_install.log files.
    • For installations, verify that you installed the Network Shim. The driver_install.log file should state
that csanet2k.inf installed. If the Network Shim is not installed, uninstall the Agent and then install
    the Agent again.
    • Verify that you did not use Terminal Services.

  • Database/Password Information not being saved in CMC

Product:  CR Server XI R2.  Server is Windows Server 2003 operating system
An issue just popped up today where the database info for a report in the CMC is not being saved.   I'm in the Process tab (database link) of the Report properties of the CMC and trying to enter Custom Database login information.
The Driver is Oracle and the Server and Username fields are set correctly.  However, when setting the Password field, regardlesws of what length of a password I use, it defaults to 7 characters when showing on the screen and none of the reports run.  Even when I set the password to blank and set the password on the InfoView, the reportsw still error out.
The error message when running the report is always
Error Message:  The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect.
We've been running these reports for weeks without any issue until today.  Are there any known issues with any recent MS patches or anything that could be causing this?  The only thing I noticed was a MS Patch (KB960714) that was installed on Friday night.  Uninstalled and rebooted and still no resolution.

    Hi Eric,
I'm experiencing a similar problem.  Did you ever get this problem solved?

  • OAM Patch information

We have a production system, single node. On looking at the patch information through OAM it showed teh APPL_TOP name as that single-node, which is what I'd expect to see.
I have just gone through the process of adding in 2 extra nodes for external DMZ usage. I did not need to apply any patches to these new, or the old node in order to configure the setup as we were already pretty much up-to-date with ATG, TXK, AD etc.
Now when I look at the patches information in OAM the APPL_TOP name is that of one of the new DMZ nodes.
I can't understand where OAM is getting this information from... as I say, no patches have ever been applied to this new node!
Any thoughts on what OAM may be doing in the bacjground?
    Thanks
    Des

    Des,
Did you check the creation and update date of these patches?
I believe this is an expected behavior even though no patches have been applied to this clean/new instance. Oracle Application installation comes with patches/fixes already applied and are stored in the database tables. If you review the creation/update date of these patches (from OAM or ad_bugs table), you will find that the date is old. Since the first release of 11i, Oracle keeps introducing a new release with fewer bugs (i.e. more patches applied). Apart from the new features of the latest 11i release (11.5.10.2), it contains all the fixes/patches which were released for (11.5.1 to 11.5.10.1).

  • Missing DataBase Login information for deployed VS2008 w/Crystal Report

I'm creating a Windows Form application using VS2008 Pro and the basic Crystal Reports (included).</br></br>
I've successfully added a crystalreportviewer control and a crystal report (.rpt) to my form. I've written the following code in the code behind to programmatically load/bind the report to the viewer. Everything works fine on my development machine (or any machine that has Visual Studio installed). Where I'm encountering problems is when I deploy the application to a machine that does not have VS installed (I have downloaded and installed the "Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 Redistributable Package" for the appropriate processor type on this non development machine) that I'm getting an error . It prompts for "DataBase Login". The ServerName, LoginID and Password are all there, but the "DataBase" field is empty and disable for user input.</br></br>
Why is the DataBase information missing? How can I solve this problem?</br></br>
(On a side note, I vaguely remember a property for enabling/disabling the prompting of the database login. I can't remember where this was again to double check if that is the culprit. HI. Ludek,
Thanks for the tips. I tried both, but the problem presists.
On a side note, I did get my hands on yet another "non-development machine". This one ran with Window's Vista appeared to work (even with my original code).
The "non-development machines" that I've tested on are Windows 7 and Window XP machines. On these machines, when I commented out the reportDocument.SetDatabaseLogon line, when I try to load the report, it still prompts for the Database Logon information, however, it also has the "Database name" empty and disabled.
Since it worked on a non-development machine with Win Vista. I don't think there is a problem with references or the Crystal runtime packages.
As far as permission for the report to contact the database, I'm guessing there isn't a problem there either because the application does successfully connect to the database.
I'm connecting to a SQL2005 database and using the SQL Native connection.
On a side note: as for the enabling prompting, I just remembered that it was an option available when using Crystal Reports with a web project. Thus I couldn't find it here with a Window's Form project.

    Hi Experts,
We developed a Crystal reports fetching data from a BI Query. When we run the report from Crystal Report Desginer it runs perfectly.
When I schedule the report in the CMC / Infoview, I am getting a error message saying:
"<REPORT NAME> Failed to load database logon Information."
We have checked the database configuration in CMC for this report. BI system hostname and the other necessary credentials are fine.
Please suggest us on how we go about understanding the cause of the error.

How did you set up NT auth on the report? With CR Designer I'd assume you are using a trusted connection? Which option did you choose in the CMC for DB credentials? Prompt, same login, or SSO (I don't have the CMC screen in front of me right now so I'm abbreviating the options)?

  • The database logon information for this report is either incomplete

    Hello All
I have installed a full licensed version of crystal reports server 2008 onto a windows server 2003 virtual server.
I am getting the following error message when trying to run some reports when i am logged in as the adminstrator
'The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect.'
Some reports work and some dont, I use the same login information for all reports, same username and same password, same machine datasource and all the reports  run fine in crystal designer 2008
The only difference i can see is that the error mainly occurs with reports that use stored procedures, the ones that dont work fine.
I not sure how to resolve this problem as i have tested the login and the datasoure and it works fine, just not through crystal reports server

Further to this i've realized that this only happens with reports which have been updated to use a stored procedure from a query file. And the reports dont use any repository objects

We have published a crystal report (XI) to InfoView (XI R2 SP2) and we are getting the following error for the database login.
"The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect."
The report is working fine in Crystal Reports XI.
The report is using the OLE DB connection to ORACLE.
The same server is running WebI reports against the same ORACLE DB. Thanks

    Hi,
We configure DSN with windows authentication and report in CMC has the configuration information like this
    Server Name: Populated
    Database: populated
    User: Empty
    Password: Empty
For the report to run, do we have 6400 to 6490 ports open?
we have port 1433 open between database and CR server but not the 6400 - 6490 ports open?
    Thanks in advance

  • 10.1.2.0.2 OID not listening after database patch 10.0.5

    Hi
I've installed database patch 10.0.5 to an Oracle Infrastructure 10.1.2.0.2. The software and scripts installed with no problems. I started the OID server using:
    opmnctl start process-type=OID
Which always worked before and it returns with no errors. But OID is not listening on port 389. dcmctl start will throw an error trying to connect to OID.
    Any ideas?

The readme for the patch has very detailed instructions !
OID needs to be up as you say plus the other components. But there is a good prereq checker before you run it.
If worried do a backup of $OH , the inventory and the IASDB then give it a try, if it fails just restore.

now when I am calling the updateProfile method of Business logic class from Action class it is giving error as all the connection variables which I set in jsp for my business logic class has become null again.
