Database Refresh error

Hi John,
I have multiple queries now
1. I pushed the account hierarchy using ODI. Capex and Wrkforce have been initialised on my application before pushing the hierarchy. In the log it show that member 'buildings' already exist. When i checked the hierarchy there are other members with 'buildings' as part of them like AFE-Buildings.
2. Also, when the database refresh is run the capex default account members are not visible in the hiearchy. They are seen in the planning applcn but not in the EAS console
3. Can we de-initialise workforce and capex?

Hi,
I am not sure what you mean in question 1, if there is a member in any of the dimension called "buildings" then it will fail as it is a duplicate.
If you see the members in planning and refresh from planning with no errors then it is more than likely they in exist in one of the cubes, make sure you have the plan types correctly set up in planning and are checking the cube that relates to the plan type.

I checked the error code *1042006* in esb_err_msgs PDF, it showing the errors as "*Network Error message: Unable To*
*Connect To serverName. The client*
*timed out waiting to connect to the*
*Essbase Agent using TCP/IP. Check*
*your network connections.*"
But, i am getting different errors in planning. As you suggested, i checked all the member formula. Its validating fine.
I confused here, which i have to follow John...

Database Connector Error : when refreshing the crystal report in Infoview

Hi,
I've created a crystal report on SAP R/3 tables and the report is refreshing fine in my local system. But however when I publish the report to the BOE, and when I try to refresh the report it gives the error:
Error in File <file name>: Database Connector Error. I'm using Crystal reports 2008 and the BOE is XI 3.1.
How can I solve this?

i suppose we are facing the same error. But where do i check if the key for the server-side integration kit has expired? There is no explicit key in our CMC.

Database Connection error in Crystal Reports using SAP BW system

Hi,
While using Crystal Reports in trying to build a report on the SAP Query in SAP/BW System using the MDX driver, I am able to get the structure of the query fields into the report but on the other hand while trying to refresh the report for data I am getting the error message u201C Failed to connect to the databaseu201D . This database connection error occurs despite the fact that the SAP server authentication details being entered on Refreshing the report is correct.
What could be the possible reason? Any guess...

EVDRE Refresh error in BPC 7M

Getting a evdre error when trying to refresh data. When tried to process the application or optimize the application, getting the error
Error message:: CreateOLAPCubeForApplication:CreateCube:Internal error: The operation terminated unsuccessfully.
Errors in the OLAP storage engine: The attribute key cannot be found: Table: dbo_tblFactBVP, Column: TIMEID, Value: 10000003.
Errors in the OLAP storage engine: The process operation ended because the number of errors encountered during processing reached the defined limit of allowable errors for the operation.
Errors in the OLAP storage engine: An error occurred while processing the 'BVP' partition of the 'BVP' measure group for the 'BVP' cube from the SOPM database.

I have already run the select statetmeent that matches the above table with member table, and there are not anomolies
Any quick clues to resolve would be much appreciated

This question is answered. The issue is that there was a mismatch between the facttable and the member table
By running this query, for each dimension was able to figure out if there was differences. There were some members created in keyfigure that were not accurate, probably created due to some script logic.
Select * from tblfactBVP where KEYFIGURE not in (select ID from mbrKEYFIGURE)
Posted for the benefit of anyone else coming across the same issue

What is the Oracle database version? ORA - 04052 means error occurred when looking up remote object. SO check the db links and the objects on the remote database.

CR XI Database Connector Error 220 Out of Range with Remedy AR System

We just upgraded to CR XI and I'm now attempting to refresh a report based on our Action Request System. I received the database connector error 220 out of range and cannot refresh the report. Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, how did you fix it?

If it failed then you would of got an error generated in the essbase application log and the planning log.

Database refresh from standby database

All,
OS : Sun version : 11.1.0.7
I'm doing database refresh using stand by database datafiles in different server.
1)Disabled Data guard broker in standby database .
2)Copied all datafiles in mount stage to target server (different server)
3)created controlfile and started the database in mount stage in different server
4)Applied all archive log files .
5)But still the database not recovered .

When you copy files of standby server to another target server ? - Yesterday.
Is standby is SYNC with primary? or MRP is still running? - ---------yes, standby db is running fine .
Even you can open database with resetlogs after recreating controlfile, no need of recovery too -- >I was unable to open . So went to apply arch files.

Database Refresh with (data + metadata including views, functions etc)

PROBLEM:
I want to refresh data + metadata (tables, views, function, procedures, packages, triggers, package body etc) from one database to another database.
Now if objects already exists in the TARGET database, then we have option as TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION=REPLACE for TABLE.
But, do we have any other such option for OBJECTS OTHER THAN TABLE (LIKE VIEWS, PROCEDURES, FUNCTION, TRIGGER, PACKAGE, PACKAGE BODY).?
Because I dont see any such option. Currently if the Object is already there in the TARGET Database, it errors out without importing as OBJECT ALREADY EXISTS statement.
As we have lots of migration, number of objects changes & new objects coming up in Production very frequently.
And due to this, we cannot put big list of INCLUDE and also even keeping that we have to prepare that list very often as number of objects changes very frequently.
Please help me with some better solution.

I understand that you are Newbie , let give me simple steps.
Follow the steps on testing envi.
1. Drop only Application users that you want to refresh from Prod(Do NOT drop users system,sysaux.. or tablespaces)
2. Create the users that you dropped.
3. using import or import data pump import the data.
In case you want to import user"A" data to "B" use REMAP_SCHEMA option.

Please note that any query that generates multiple SQL statements is not supported in the Query Panel in Crystal Reports.
I guess this Universe is generating multiple SQLs and hence the error.
I found this option while I was searching for something else: Could you try turning off the "Multiple SQL statement for each measure" in the Universe parameters and see if it works?

dear all, this has finally got the better of me.
i have been successfully scheduling a set of reports each month, until now. they all come back with the following error, each with a different ~tmp.rpt file

each report communicates with an SAP ECC system. the user is fine, i have even tried my username to connect to sap, and same error occurs.
no runtime errors in sap.
the actual reports can be opened with crystal reports, and refreshed to show data without any problem.
could this be an integration issue. i checked by removing the sap role, and adding it back without any issues.
i have also cloned the CrystalReportsJobServer and tried to schedule with this one, same thing happens

all servers up and running without any problems
ODBC database connection works fine
here a list i have made, so i can remember what i have done
the issue is on the production box, and the dev box works fine.
1. checked sap user, ok
2. checked individual reports, ok
3. checked dev environment, ok
4. checked production IFRS & OFRS, ok
5. checked production report on dev environment, ok
6. checked working dev report on production environment, failed
7. u201Crepairu201D of installation kit
8. CRYSTALREPORTJBBSERVER failing
9. cloned server, server failed
10. tried rogue sap user/password on dev environment, returned different error
11. bounced production, same problem, failed
12. checked OBDC connection
13. checked new SIA with new Job Server, still same thing, failed
14. No Windows Events
15. SAP note raised (0000724225 2011)
16. BOBI Server Trace files nothing obvious
17. tried with report sample to different backend, and CrystalReportsJobServer, ok
18. brand new crystal reports with different user, failed
19. noticed in trace file error 707 with JobScheduleChild process

I am using BO Edge Series XI 3.0, Crystal report 2008, Live Office XI 3.0 and Xcelsius 2008. I have connected ERP (R/3) system with crystal report and created report. This report are stored in BOE. Using Live Office XI 3.0, created live office document from this crystal report. In Xcelsius, i have imported live office document and created dashboard and generated PDF.swf file. When i open the swf file with SAP user info, its showing error like this

Make sure you cross check:
1. The database connector used by the report is installed on all machines from which the report can be run.
2. The necessary database client software required by the database connector is installed and in the PATH environment system variable on all machines from which the report can be run.

Cannot add Portlets: Portal Repository - Refresh Errors

I cannot add portlets in Portal 3.0.8.
When I click the "Refresh Error" link in the Portal Repository, I get the following error:
PROVIDER[527954]: Oracle Portal Pages PORTLET[886]: TN_ORGAN LANGUAGE: s ERROR: User-Defined Exception

The way the Refresh works is that for each provider, Oracle9i AS Portal contacts the provider for its list of portlets. It will request the list in each of the installed languages. For database providers, this call is the get_portlet_list API. For web providers, this call is the oracle.portal.provider.v1.Provider.getPortlets java API.
The error you are seeing in the refresh log is being caused by an exception raised in provider=527954,portlet=886,language=s in either the get portlets or get portlet methods. You should check these two methods with Swedish.
