Database space after archiving
Hello
I archived quite a lot workitems in ECC HP-UX/Oracle system. I wander however where I can see gained space. probably I have to reorganize table involved in archiving
Thank you in advance
did you check my last post? There is one SQL which will let you know the table with largest space wastage. Could you please run that ? for tables that do not contain LONG or LONG RAW fiels you can reorganize via brtools. But if a table contains LONG or LONG RAW field then you have to do export /import method.
Please also find the SQL below.
SELECT * FROM
(SELECT
SUBSTR(TABLE_NAME, 1, 21) TABLE_NAME,
NUM_ROWS,
AVG_ROW_LEN ROWLEN,
BLOCKS,
ROUND((AVG_ROW_LEN + 1) * NUM_ROWS / 1000000, 0) NET_MB,
ROUND(BLOCKS * (8000 - 23 * INI_TRANS) *
(1 - PCT_FREE / 100) / 1000000, 0) GROSS_MB,
ROUND((BLOCKS * (8000 - 23 * INI_TRANS) * (1 - PCT_FREE / 100) -
(AVG_ROW_LEN + 1) * NUM_ROWS) / 1000000) "WASTED_MB"
FROM DBA_TABLES
WHERE
NUM_ROWS IS NOT NULL AND
OWNER LIKE 'SAP%' AND
PARTITIONED = 'NO' AND
(IOT_TYPE != 'IOT' OR IOT_TYPE IS NULL)
ORDER BY 7 DESC)
WHERE ROWNUM <=50;
If you need top 50 tables, you can run that, else you can change the number in the last line for top 10, 20 and so on tables.

Space after negating exclamation mark
Hi, is it possible to add a space after a negating exclamation mark in the code formatting rules such as:
if (!true) {} <- I don't want this style
if (! true) {} <- I do want this
I think that the Tools -> Options -> Text Editor settings give me quite limited choices when it gets to customizing your code formats. I want to do this for JavaScript if that matters.The ! means that iPhoto has lost the link to the actual images
i
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Hi all!
I am displaying an html document in a JEditorPane, which has some hyperlinks. Everything is wotking, except that all the hyperlinks have an extra space after the text which is underlined and is a part of the hyperlink.
I saw this problem in the bug database but marked as closed. However I still have this problem using jdk 1.4.1.

we need to show this space in the output file as blank

move wa_sagadr_outtab-country to wa_sagadr_text+223(226).

in this last field ie country i need to display the last 226 as blank as only country key is two char in database so the last space is not shown

After Archive and Install = computer running slowly
I just ran Archive and Install, repaired my Hard Drive with disk utility and ran software update, everything should be gangbusters.
But now, it takes much longer than usual for my computer to boot and when I do basic things like run a web browser, the finder and itunes at the same time, I get a 'pinwheel of doom' consistenly as if the computer needs to stop and process what's going on.
Why is my computer running so slowly? I have enough ram, processing to run very smoothly and my hard drive now has 15% free space.After I started a new user and used some of my old programs in that user, they loaded faster on the admin user I've been having problems with, and it seemed like my computer was starting to go back to normal.
New problems... I ran software update and there were a bunch of security updates, quicktime and other stuff I hadn't updated. It took a while to download and install so I left my house for a few hours. I came back and my computer showed the "restart to take effect" prompt. But then it wouldn't boot to OSX and I'm back to square one. Why would this keep happening? Why would my OS stop functioning after leaving it idle for several hours?
So now I'm re-installing the OS again and we'll see what happens.
Could it be that the climate is too hot? I have a thermometer program that says the inside of my computer is 135 degrees F. Is it too hot? Maybe a fan is broken?
In the past my OS has only stopped working due to lack of HD space but now I have about 15% free space. I'm really out of ideas here. -
hi,
i have ERP6 EHP4 with 60 GB in database , but after running the SGEN T-Code it was increased to 90 GB and the log file also increased to 48 Gb from 3 GB .
my question is , is this normal of this much of space . if yes then it's ok
if not then what to do?
one more question
how to find out that the system is ERP6 EHP4 ?
what i am doing from SAP Easy Access > System > Status , there in SAP SYSTEM DATA > Componenet Version = SAP ECC6 was written , i can't find out that the system is EHP 4.Hi,
Its normal, that SGEN increase the Size of DATABASE.
To know your system is on EHP4 or not, just check the relase of SAP_APPL, it should be 604.
Thanks

Extra white-space after page proccess
I am trying to suppress white-spaces after the page is
processed.
Usually it doesn't bother me, but it does bother javascript.
Explanation:
1. I am sending an xmlhttp request to coldfusion to process.
2. Coldfusion runs a stored procedure on an oracle database
that returns the results as XML.
3. Coldfusion returns the XML back to the client:
<cfoutput>#XmlParse(ajaxXML)#</cfoutput>.
4. The client (Javascript) runs the function that handle the
data and returns an error because: "
xml declaration not at start of external entity".
I have tried using cfsetting with the attribute:
enablecfoutputonly="yes", but still the result is the same.
Any idea or lead in the right direction would be greatly
appreciated.The XML that the DB returns, looks like this:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<rowset>
<row>
<column_name>value</column_name>
<column_name>value</column_name>
</row>
</rowset>
After playing with code for a while now, I believe that the
problem is not with the returned XML.
The page that runs the SP is the page that call the SP. What
means that the white-spaces are the code that the Coldfusion engine
has already processed (although, the condition that checks whether
the form variable that Ajax request, exist. Is the first thing on
the page). to my understanding, the returned XML should be at the
top of the page.
I hope that I was clear enough.
Thank you. -
Reclaim disk space after delete an index
Hi ,
I have deleted unused indexes from a history table to reclaim the disk space was allocated for these indexes , yet the size on the disk is the same , any steps I can follow to achieve this would be greatly appreciated..
indexes size is 70 GB
table size is 45 GB , # of rows is above 200 Million
Thanks in advancein order to reclaim space after your big delete. Don't shrink your data files unless you have no other choice.
The space will automatically go back to SQL server. You don't have to do anything.
The database size will be the same plus the growth of your log file due to logging the transactions. However, internally, SQL server knows that it still has that space to play with.
Other wise you can go for update the statistics and rebuild indexes . but I think it would be the part of your normal weekend nightly maintenance plan

How do I reclaim the unused space after a huge data delete- very urgent
Hello all,
How do I reclaim the unused space after a huge data delete?
alter table "ODB"."BLOB_TABLE" shrink space; This couldn't execute with ora 10662 error. Could you please help'Shrink space' has requirements:
shrink_clause
The shrink clause lets you manually shrink space in a table, index-organized table or its overflow segment, index, partition, subpartition, LOB segment, materialized view, or materialized view log. This clause is valid only for segments in tablespaces with automatic segment management. By default, Oracle Database compacts the segment, adjusts the high water mark, and releases the recuperated space immediately.
Compacting the segment requires row movement. Therefore, you must enable row movement for the object you want to shrink before specifying this clause. Further, if your application has any rowid-based triggers, you should disable them before issuing this clause.

How to improve BW database space
Hi, all
I have encountered an issue about BW database space in BW development instance, when I extract data from R3, there is no enough space for uploading the data.
however, I need check BW report with R3 immediately, I'll be very appreciated if anyone can help me.
Furthermore, I have deleted many PSA data loads.
thanks in advance!
CarinaHere are some other things that you can do, or have done, to help:
1) Delete Change Logs that are more than 21 days old (or some other aging).
2) Have your Basis DBAs do a reorg on the underlying tables for larger DSOs.
3) Run compression on larger InfoCubes.
4) Archive data that is older than two years (or some other aging).
There are other things you can look at, but will take more time to complete. For example, if you're using the 0EC_PCA_3 DataSource for extracting PCA details, it extracts 3 records (one per currency type - transaction, local and operating concern) for each row of data that's in R3/ECC. Instead of using that DataSource, one could create a generic DataSource based on Function Module to pull 1 record for each record in the table, significantly reducing the amount of data (requires some other actions on the reporting end though so that users can choose which currency they want to report in). -
Applications not working after archive reinstall
After a new optical drive, the tech at the mac store suggested that I clear up some space and archive reinstall. I did, and now all applications are seriously crashing - For ie iPhoto's icon just bounces then notifies that it has 'Quit Unexpectedly', and is now constantly failing to open. iTunes says the file cannot be read because it was created by a newer version. I don't know why. I do have Time machine backup's. Any suggestions on a next step....
I had upgraded to Leopard 10.5.6 last year and it was those new Leopard Install disc that I used for the archive reinstall because the option to preserve user data was greyed out when I tried my original discs that came with the iMac.
Message was edited by: circularlogikHave you run Software Update yet?
There are frequent updates to the OS after the disc is released. The last release of Leopard is 10.5.8.
I just did an archive and reinstall from 10.5.1, and the Mac OS X Combined update for me is 768Mb! -

Where does one set space after paragraph in the new Pages 5.0? It used to be under text in the Inspector in the previous version, but I just can't find it in this new version. Paragraphs seem to only be dealt with in styles, and the Formatting window for text doesn't seem to have the space after paragraph contrtol that the older Inspector had. What am I missing?
Sorry I did this without looking:
Side panel >Text > Style > Spacing > Turn the triangle > Before Paragraph/After Paragraph/
This is the trouble with the Peeky Boo Contextual Interface that so many wiser heads than mine love to love.
