DATAFILES tobe shipped automatically in Phy. Stndby DB (Ver 92010 later)

Dear All,
I am having the strange problem. My case-study :
Am having AIX and SAN (for Datafiles) and database is in RAC with 2 instances.
As per the phy. stndby db concept, I learnt that if I create any tablespace then it will be shipped to DR automatically...
To see this thing,
I created one tablespace and temp tablepsace in primary site, now it is not automatically coming to remote site (DR).
Interestingly, it updates the controlfile (In DR) and if we view the v$datafile, it will show the name of that tablespace but physically it is not there. Can you tell me wht to do in that situation ?

I m trying to setup oracle dataguard for 10G ; both primary and standby databases are in 10GR2(10.2.0.4).
Archivelogs are not shipping automatically.tnsping to PROD_STBY working fine. Neither Bandwidth issue nor firewall issue.
pfile has following entry :log_archive_dest_2='SERVICE=PROD_STBY reopen=60'
When we do following command on Primary

You bought a used iPhone. Amazon is not an authorized supplier of iPhones, nor are any of the 3rd parties that sell iPhones there.
You can make an appointment at the genius bar and have it looked at.
If you are very very lucky, it is still under warranty and it wasn't opened or otherwise tampered with before you bought it. In which case, Apple will replace it under warranty.
If it's not under warranty, they will replace it for $199.
If it has been opened or tampered with, they won't touch it.

Having bought CS5 after the official announcement of CS6 under the special offer, I'm now entitled to receive CS6 for free.

Hi,
As Franz said, there is no standard functionality in RE, but you could use the Adjustment program to achieve that result.
You can customize an index based rule with your interest rate and default that adjustment rule for the condition that needs to be accounted for interest.
The problem is that if you choose to follow this approach, you will have no intergration with FI-AP and the adjustment program will not check which contracts are overdue and which not.

Link between loss of datafiles and shutdown of the database

I'm new to Oracle and I'm trying to understand how Oracle works.
I'm actuaally learning Oracle Backup and Recovery Advanced User's Guide 10g Release2, and at chapter19 of this guide, it's written that if either a permanent or temporary media failure affects any datafiles of a database operating in NOARCHIVELOG mode, then the database automatically shuts down, but that a database operating in archivelog mode doesn't shut down in the case of media failure if its datafiles affected by the media failure are not in the SYSTEM tablespace or do not contain active rollback or undo segments.
I don't understand why the database in archivelog mode doesn't shut down in the case of a media failure affecting datafiles not in the SYSTEM tablespace or not containing rollback or undo segments, whereas the database in noarchivelog mode shuts down in the case of a media failure causing loss of datafiles.
Please, can I have some explanations on it?

The guide supposes (and this is very important) that you have consistent backup of the database and all archived logs since that backup if it's in ARCHIVELOG mode.
If the database is in ARCHIVELOG mode and you have backup, any normal lost datafile can be recovered with the database staying online, lost datafiles are just automatically taken offline and then you take the tablespace they belong to offline with temporary option, restore lost datafiles, recover the tablespace (using archived logs as needed) and put it back online. However, if media failure affects critical database structures like active undo or SYSTEM tablespace, Oracle instance can't stay online because you can't take SYSTEM tablespace or a tablespace with active undo segments offline, thus it automatically aborts. You then perform offline database recovery.
In NOARCHIVELOG mode your only recovery option after any media failure is to restore the last consistent backup and lose all changes performed since then. There's no point for the instance to continue running in this case, so it aborts.

Drop datafile in dataguard

I have dataguard configuration with standby file management auto.
When I add a datafile, it is automatically added to standby database.
However,when I drop a datafile, it is dropped from primary database but it is not dropped from the standby database..
What is the reason for this?

"DROP Clause
Specify DROP to drop from the tablespace an empty datafile or tempfile specified by filename or file_number. This clause causes the datafile or tempfile to be removed from the data dictionary and deleted from the operating system. The database must be open at the time this clause is specified.
The ALTER TABLESPACE ... DROP TEMPFILE statement is equivalent to specifying the ALTER DATABASE TEMPFILE ... DROP INCLUDING DATAFILES.

What is the use of more datafiles in the tablespace..
my question is if we have autoextend on in the datafile it will automatically extend the size of the datafiles... then what is the use of two or more datafiles...

as per my experiance
We should have each 2 gb of datafile if db size is small about 100Gb.. or 4GB of datafile if db is more than 100Gb.

The datafile is almost full. The question is: given that AUTOEXTEND is ON, will a new datafile be created automatically when the original datafile reaches the limit? (datafile is SMALLFILE)

2. This webservice will be called by ABAP whenever a new user is Created in Backend.

Windows update keeps updating automatically

We currently have a windows server 2012 in our office and I've set automatic updates to 'download but let me install them'. Reason for this is that Windows automatically would restart the server when everyone is working in the office, and every time I've
changed the settings to 'download but let me install them' - windows changes the settings back to automatically install updates a few sign ins later. This is becoming a problem. Do you know how to change this?

Ipad 2 shipping experience with apple?

I ordered my black 32GB 3G+wi-fi iPad 2 through apple on April 25th and instantly recieved a comfirmation email that stated it would ship on May 9th and estimated delivery is May 12th. Now its only 2 1/2 weeks but I was wondering if anybody recieved their iPad 2 before the estimated delivery date? Anyone willing to share their iPad 2 delivery experience through apple? Did it arrive early/on time/late? Thanks

I forgot to say that my accessories were shipped Apr 20th and came a couple days later by Fed Ex, I figures my IPad 2 32GB WIFI only would come the same way when shipped. The email saying it was shipped today(a day ahead of 1st notice) via UPS, the store had a link to go in and "pre sign", print the form and leave it on the door for the UPS person in case no one was home. I did have to sign for the accessories that came via Fed Ex.

Does best buy care about their promises made on delivery date?

i've placed an order LAST thursday, and as an elite plus member i get expedite shipping automatically (accroading to bestbuy definitaion, it's a two day delivery). plus, on the confirmation emial, it says 'get it by: tuesday, jan 13th.
and only until noon today (monday), i received an email containing an tracking number from bestbuy. since best buy shipped my item out one day late, i was expecting a overnight shipping so that they can delivery my item ontime, like all other online retialers would do. but it is not. it is only ups ground, by which i will be lucky to get it in another two days.
what is worse is, until 10:00pm, ups doesnt seem to have received the package yet.
so best buy, why dont you use overnight to cover your mistake, instead, you are asking me to pay for your delay? i've been a long time constomer for both amazon and bestbuy. and amazon sometime do ship out items late, and honestly it happened a lot. but whenever they are behind the schedule, they use the fastest shipping to try to catch up the time.

Should I cancel my MBP order placed on the 11th Jan?

I need some opinions. I ordered my MBP through an authorised reseller on 11th Jan because Apple stopped shipping to the Channel Islands in the UK late last year. When the MBPs were upgraded by Apple all orders were cancelled and the resellers were forced to replace them. There was no automatic replacing of orders. Although my reseller replaced the order immediately the order date was effectively 20th February.
I have frequently chased this order up and am told that as of today (13th March) I am looking at atleast another 2 weeks according to my reseller's supplier, but probably 4-5 weeks as mine is a CTO.
To put this into context, my reseller orders through the largest Apple distributor in the UK and this distributor has yet to take receipt of any MBPs. The only place in the UK that has delivered MBPs to customers are the Apple retail stores and the online stores.
I have been told by my reseller that I cannot cancel my order and that I would have been told that when I placed my order. That is not true.
I am seriously considering cancelling my order and letting the reseller try and prove that they told me as I swear that they did not. By the time I get the damned thing it will be April and we may be looking at a speed bump to 2.16GHz not long after as well as an upgrade to the X1800 Mobility if the rumours are true that the 17" will be launched with that card - the 17" and top end 15" PBs tended to have the same specs.
Has anyone else in the UK experienced this frustration and how are you handling it.

Although I am not from the UK, I ordered 1.83 on 1.10.06 - upgraded to 2.16 on 2.14.06. I am in the US and currently (as of this moment) my MBPro is over Canada on its way to me.
