Should I cancel my MBP order placed on the 11th Jan?

I need some opinions. I ordered my MBP through an authorised reseller on 11th Jan because Apple stopped shipping to the Channel Islands in the UK late last year. When the MBPs were upgraded by Apple all orders were cancelled and the resellers were forced to replace them. There was no automatic replacing of orders. Although my reseller replaced the order immediately the order date was effectively 20th February.
I have frequently chased this order up and am told that as of today (13th March) I am looking at atleast another 2 weeks according to my reseller's supplier, but probably 4-5 weeks as mine is a CTO.
To put this into context, my reseller orders through the largest Apple distributor in the UK and this distributor has yet to take receipt of any MBPs. The only place in the UK that has delivered MBPs to customers are the Apple retail stores and the online stores.
I have been told by my reseller that I cannot cancel my order and that I would have been told that when I placed my order. That is not true.
I am seriously considering cancelling my order and letting the reseller try and prove that they told me as I swear that they did not. By the time I get the damned thing it will be April and we may be looking at a speed bump to 2.16GHz not long after as well as an upgrade to the X1800 Mobility if the rumours are true that the 17" will be launched with that card - the 17" and top end 15" PBs tended to have the same specs.
Has anyone else in the UK experienced this frustration and how are you handling it.

Although I am not from the UK, I ordered 1.83 on 1.10.06 - upgraded to 2.16 on 2.14.06. I am in the US and currently (as of this moment) my MBPro is over Canada on its way to me.

You may also be able to place your name on a wait list for the model you want with no obligation. Then you can see which one comes in first.

    Well thats not the easy way to check 90 machines. Besides I'd have to look up FRU numbers , as the information is not clearly laid out.

    In order to get the App Store you must be running OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8
    To get there you must upgrade to Snow Leopard 10.6 which requires an install DVD
    You can call Apple and ask them for the install DVD. It will cost $19.95 plus shipping
    Once you have upgraded your Mac to Snow Leopard then you need to update it to 10.6.8
    Then you will have the App Store you need
    Backup first before you start any of the upgrade

    Hey guys,
    Last week I ordered a Mac Pro (got already) and a MacBook. The MacBook is supposed to ship sometime next week I assume. But after reading so many threads about all the issues like Peekaboo shutdowns, peeling paint, etc, etc I am asking myself if I should simply cancel the MacBook and wait until Jesus comes back to earth and in another miracle fixes all the MacBook issues.
    What do you guys think?
    So far every single electronics item I have ever purchased in my life always worked perfectly and NEVER gave me any issues. From TVs to Projectors and PCs/Macs.
    I got a Mini Mac back in 2004 the same day they were announced. Never had one single issue.
    Got the Mac Pro. No issues so far (well to be honest it is still sitting in the box, with no use).
    But the MacScaryBook is kind of scaring me and may change the natural order of my parallel universe where everything simply works for me.
    Should I wait???

  • Delivery Date changed after order placed, iphone 4S

    Hi all, 
    I just noticed that the order I placed on the 12th, with a delivery date of the 21st , is now stating a delivery date of the 28th!! I called CS and of course they are saying there is nothing they can do. Has anyone else had this happen? Any suggestions? 
    It is quite disappointing, Verizon should of never promised delivery dates if they could not meet them.  Thanks!

    Check your local stores and see if they have any in stock. If so, cancel your order and go pick  one  up in store. If you look at the Apple site to order you'll notice that (at last check) the shipping is 1-2 weeks out so that's a pretty good indicator that demand was high. This would explain why your order date was pushed back. It happens all of the time. It sucks but it's bound to happen when something is selling very well.

  • Cancelling my laptop order: Sales agent tricked me by forcing the dates for delivery

    Nov. 29 2013: Friday
    On black friday - I placed an order for a lenovo product. The sales rep. lady told me because of the high volume of sales, my laptop may take from 1 to 2 weeks to be delivered to me. I said ok, no problem. 
    Dec. 1 2013: Sunday
    Then on Sunday I called the sales service to only inquire if it is possible of me to cancel my order. The sales agent said yes; and upon asking further if I have to pay for any restocking fees, she answered saying restocking fees is applicable to only refurbished laptops, not the new ones. Meaning, whether I cancel my order before it is shipped to me or even after it is shipped - I have nothing to pay to cancel/return my order - Everything about cancellation/return package was free and/or full refund.
    She checked my order status to me and told me that my laptop is scheduled for shipping on Thursday Dec. 5. And delivery should be around Friday or some other day. So if I wish to cancel it, I have till Tuesday Dec. 3 to call them about it because by Wednesday the laptop will be in transit for shipping.
    Dec. 2 2013: Monday
    I checked my order status again.  Like before, it said my laptop is scheduled for shipping on Thursday Dec. 5 and it will be on transit from the warehouse to the shipping by wednesday as per what the sales agent told me last time I spoke to her.  So I still have till Tuesday Dec. 3 to decide whether I want to go ahead or cancel the order.
    After checking the status order, I immediately called Lenovo's sales service to cancel my order on Dec. 2, Monday. Upon talking to that sales lady representative about the cancellation of my order, she was surprised about it and it would seem like she wanted me to go for it.  So she tricked me into it saying my order can't be cancelled as there's no guaranty that my order is still in the warehourse. She said it could be it's going to be shipped tomorrow.  I was shocked. What she did was she forced the order to be shipped immediately so that this sale takes place. She modified the transit & shipping date for my order so that I have no choice other than to accept it. And she told me I'll have to accept it and then ship it back instead of refusing it to avoid any problematic situation.
    ASAP the phone call ended - I went onto checking the order again, and I realised that sales representative lady modified all the dates so as to force the order to be shipped to me as an attempt so that the sales takes place. She thought I might change my mind after receiving the laptop, but I am firm at my decisions.
    The present day: Tuesday
    I want my laptop to be cancelled and I was told on Dec. 1, 2013 by the agent that I was eligible for a full refund without having to pay for any restocking fee (in case I decide to cancel it). Can someone reading this help me with that cancellation.
    Lenovo was going to be my first Lenovo laptop. I love the lenovo machines. Great build quality. But my only problem is that...why I am cancelling my order is that that lenovo y510p model comes with SLI card and this doesn't work well with the softwares I work with. I choose to cancel that order and prefer to save that money and wait till perhaps next year for another lenovo's quality machine (I'm a great lenovo fan) which I am hoping to come with a single GPU GTX 780 @3GB GDDR5 (base model) and some 256gb SSD. That's the only reason why I am cancelling my order and that's what I told to the sales ‌agent lady too when she asked me about the reason behind my cancellation.

  • Second order cancelled, 3 failed orders

    Hello,
    I placed an order for 2X Canon EOS 5D Mark III 24-105mm Lens Kits and the order was cancelled within minutes. The reason stated in the email was that "[they] were unable to verify information," which after reading some posts here, it seems "normal." This was my 3rd attempt to place the order. The 1st attempt, I canceled due to having items in my shopping cart I couldn't remove. The 2nd was canceled by Best Buy because of the same reason, but that was my fault. I used my wife's debit card and put my name on the billing and shipping address by mistake, all other information was the same (phone number, address, email). I asked my wife to double check that the information was the same as her bank records, and it was. I've placed numerous electronic orders with Sears, Walmart, and Target, and I've never had a problem "verifying my information." I just want the cameras before the 21st of this month(gift for wife and sister) for a trip out of the country. Thank you and I apologize for the inconvenience.

    I can certainly understand your disappointment that these orders did not go through.  The camera that you are looking to purchase looks incredible and should be great for taking pictures anywhere!
    Generally when we say that “we are unable to verify your information” it means that some part of your order is not matching up correctly.  This can be something as simple as a misspelling or it can mean that your billing information on your BestBuy.com account is not matching up with the billing information showing on the card you are using to make your purchase. 
    I would recommend that you double check all this information to make sure that everything is correct and if so, place a new order through BestBuy.com.  However, I cannot guarantee that if we do fulfill your order, it would be shipped to you in time for the trip.  My recommendation would be to visit your local Best Buy store to see if they can help obtain it for you in time or to place an order for in-store pickup.

    Cancellation means you do not want to receive the material from that Vendor, that means no GR & No IR should happen.
    for that You need to Select the Line Item & put Block / deletion indicator.
    & how can i check document flow of purchase order.how can i checked for particular PO good receipt happend or not if its happen how can we cancell whole document.
    If you do any GR/IR then there will be Purchase order History tab at PO Line Item level, you can find the Mat Doc number & Invoice Number .and if you want to cancel the Material Document , you can do it through MIGO or MBST.

    The costs remain as it is in the Service order.There is no changes in the costing.Cost can be viewed in Costing Tab in Service order (IW33--> cost tab) or thru t-code KOB1
    2.What all areas will get effected after TECO of a Service order?
    After TECO, the following transactions cannot be done : Material Reservation, scheduling,goods movement, confirmation,Requisition,Quotation, RRB, etc etc.
    Once TECO is done, the goods movemnent,confirmation, etc cannot be reversed.
    3.Is it possible to cancel/delete a Service Order?
    A Deletion Flag can be set at the service order header level.
    4.If so what all areas has to be looked in before canceling a service order and canceling a TECO?
    Service order should be open ( status = CRTD) for it to be deleted. All confirmations and goods movement etc should be reversed before deleting a service order.
    TECO cancellation cannot be done for settled orders.
