Actually I'm not sure which DataGrid I'm using. I'm quite sure it's not MX, Because I can't find any MX-Code. The DataGrid gets created with a function in its own class. (EntityDataGrid.as)
I do not get any error. The other objects just don't get viewed. (There is an exception rule)

And I doubt JavaFX can display SWF files (it is a concurrent technology, after all! :-)), unless using some JNI/JNA technology (via JDIC? a long way...).
Datagrid: it is expected in next version (hopefully), there are some implementations around (look for CRUDfx, for example).

Combobox in Datagrid with different values

Hi All,
I have a datagrid. One of the columns in the datagrid is set
to display a combobox as the ItemRenderer. Now, the data for the
combobox is different for each row. How do I set up the data
provider for the combobox in such a scenario.
For example : I have a collection of Shirt objects.

This should be displayed in the datagrid, with the Color
column rendered as a combobox. The colors will be different for
each shirt.

Yes. Some more detail:
in the function,
override public function set data(value:Object): void {
the "value" parameter will contain a refernce to an entire
"Shirt" instance.
So you can assign the comboBox.dataProvider=value.color;
Now, It is more complicated than this, because you will want
the combobox to show the correct value for each row, right?
For this to happen, you will need a selectedColor property on
Shirt. When the user chooses a color, you will need to update this
property with the selection.
Next, your renderer must read the value of selectedColor and
set the comboBox.selectedIndex.
If selectedColor contains the *index* of the color then you
have it easy. If it contains the color name itself, then you will
have to for-loop over the color array until yom match the
selectedColor. then you will have the index and can set
selectedIndex.
ComboBox does not support setting the value directly. It is
pretty easy to extend combo to do this. There are several examples
out there. I posted a link to one on CFLEX.net

Need for a Datagrid with variableRowHeight="true" and custom Item Renderer to display exact rows

Hi again, developers:
I'm in a search of a datagrid with certain characteristics:
 - variableRowHeight = "true"
 - only one column
 - each row must have a custom item renderer with possibly different heights, and a fixed width
 - the datagrid must show always every item in the data provider with no vertical scroll bars, what means that the datagrid height must have always the exact height sum of all the item renderers it is displaying.
 - and no extra empty rows must appear in the last positions of the datagrid
The last two requirements are something difficult to achieve... for some reason, empty rows appear at the last positions of the datagrid. I post what i've managed to get:

Thanks Harui, but it doesn't help. If the border is set it will help, but the very big problem is the empty rows that appear at the end of the datagrid... I can't find a way of measuring correctly the height of the itemRenderers!
I'll update this thread if I manage to do it.

Can you set textRolloverColor and textSelectedColor for a DataGrid via styleFunction?

Ok so I have a DataGrid with a default row text color set. I use the styleFunction to change the text color of a row if a certain condition is met by returning the new color. However, I would also like the textRolloverColor and textSelectedColor for said rows to change as well based on these same conditions. Is there any way to do this? Any help is much appreciated.

I tried using setStyle but that didn't seem to work. However, I was able to add textSelectedColor to the object being returned to the row and that worked.

Unfortunatly many of the other data grid styles don't seem to work with this method, specifially one of the other ones I need, textRolloverColor. Basically I need the text to be set to the same color on those specific rows as they are when you select them.

DataGrid with Custom Component not showing sub-components

I'm hoping someone can enlighten me on this issue.
I have a datagrid with one column which has an item renderer. It doesn't matter if the "text" data comes from a dataProvider or is static.
If I do the following, only the first label will show up.

Thanks for the reply KomputerMan.com. I've tried changing the dimensions of the VBox and no other labels appeared. Usually, when there is not enough room within the datagrid cell scrollbars will appear - you can experiment with the example below to see what I mean.
As for radiobuttons in a datagrid, here you go. The DataGrid and its dataProvider are constructed in the same way you normally would.

Drag-n-Drop problem in DataGrid with custom ItemRenderer

I am trying to use a DataGrid to set the ordering of a group
of images.
I want to do this with a DataGrid which will show me some
properties of
the images in different columns including a thumbnail of the
image. The
problem is when I use any custom renderer for any column, the
draging is
not working. It works fine when I don't use any ItemRenderer.
My code looks something like this:

I tried out as your source code from the previous reply,,,
Instead of getting it clearly, I got another Confusion... (pardon me)
Let me clarify this with the examples given,
I try to adopt previous source code
and it was this detail;
1) Taking the X and Y coordinate (from the mouseEvent) Plus jLabel1 coordinate (both X and Y).
2) Positioning a Coordinate taken to JLabel1
3) Passing the Coordinate taken to jLabelX, and jLabelY.
The problem found was;
if we make 3rd become comments, now the jLabel1
could works!
I mean, jLabel1 could be dragged to another Coordinate (by dragging it to another location)
But,
if we un-comments the 3rd source code,
The effect would be no movement of the jLabel1.
BinaryDigit, is this related to the layout you mentioned before?

but setLocation() give me another Confusion....
the coordinate seems taking its basement as a reference.
I mean, the jLabel Coordinate's is referenced
from the panel where the jLabel is attached to,
rather than the Coordinate's of the base jFrame (main base -what should I call this?)

Dynamic DataGrid with Preferred columns

Hi all,
I want to populate a dynamic DataGrid with User Preferred
columns (ex : EmpId,First Name and Phone). Each time columns may
change based on User Selection in Preferences Page so columns
should not hard code. I'm able to see data for EmpId, First Name
but I want to see the Inner tag data of "Phone" as a Field.

To display nested data, you must use a labelFunction. I have
several labelFunction examples on cflex.net.
You can assign a function reference to the column's
labelFunction property in the column generation code.

Sort DataGrid with ComboBox

I have a DataGrid with several columns and I would like to be
able to sort it with a ComboBox. So if option a in the comboBox is
selected then column A in the DataGrid will be used to sort. I
option B is selected then a different column wil sort the DataGrid.
How would I go about this?

Datagrid with graphics ?

hello, I want to make a datagrid (without column headers),
that holds clickable bitmap images.
Can anyone direct me to a tutorial that will help understand

I have re read the Cell Render documentation and looked at
all the examples I can find of which there are only 3
all of them receive the data to populate the combo box from
hard coded arrays with in the actionscript itself, I could not find
a single example that receives the data for the datagrid and the
combo box from a remote source like a php script or text file.
I have been trying for days to get this datagrid combo box to
work properly.
I can get it to work if I put the data array in the
CellRenderComboBox.as file as follows.
this is what the examples show.

I need to find a way to get parked items moved into a cleared status with out actually posting the item for payment. I do not have a PO or goods receipt to post them to. There are some invoicese which we are not paying but we want to keep those items in the history of the vendor. I need to be able to run a parked report of open items and not have these pull into that report. I have a some parked invoices for various vendors that I need to get moved into the cleared status.

Problems with the examples in NWDS

Hi All,
Running the Welcome example project in NWDS i have the included error.
I have problems with other examples too.
I did all the step by step tutorials.
I have NWDS 2.0.3
 J2EE 6.40 SP15
 EP 2004
I am new in NWDS and i have not still successed to run any application.
What is wrong with my systems?
I did all the configurations start J2EE /sdm etc.
Do i have to install other versions? I read that maybe i have to install the same SP 15.
Please if anybody can help me .

I have NWDS 2.0.3 and Web AS 6.40 SP15 and EP 04.
How can i be sure if are compatible? Maybe i have to install NWDS SP15?
I did "Rebuild" and then "Deploy new archive and run" Deploying i was asking for the sdm password , then the application opened in a new browser and we can see this message below.
The Deploy Output View is empty. There is no eny successful deploy message.
