Datasources Execution

Hello everybody,
anyone knows a table or view where I can obtain the execution date and time of datasources, datasources that exist in transactions RSA3, the reason is that I need to generate a report about how many times this datasources are executed in a period of time, the date and time, thanks in advance.
Regards,
Julio

Hi,
Refer to the link below. Am sure it is of great help to you.

  • Datasources execution order

    Hi all.
    I have a problem on hand. I made a series of reports. Each of them use 2 SPs.
    One of them is used for retrieving the information which fills the columns in the report body
    The other SP retrieves information such as the Report Title and other 'tags' such as 'Report's Elaboration Date:', as well as the texts to be displayed in the column headers depending on a LANGUAGE parameter for such SP.
    At design time, I added the SP for filling the report body first. After that, I added the SP which gets the report 'tags'. None of the columns for these 2 DataSource  are linked to each other at all, and both SPs get their result sets from different tables. Both SPs do not share common parameters.
    If I execute the report providing properly parameters for geting information back into the report columns, then everything goes smoothly. However if I execute the report providing parameters for not getting information in the report columns (on purpose) then I get no information into the columns NOR for the Report's Tags.
    I supposed both DataSource  are independently processed on each other, so I would expect to get the Report Tags Information and have it printed in the Report Header and in every section I put them, whether or not the other SP bring back any information.
    So I made kind of an experiment and I created a new report, selecting at design time, first the SP for the tags and then the SP for the columns information. I executed it and it worked just as I expected (I got no information in the report but I have the report tags properly displayed in the Header Reports and all the sections where I put them)
    So I am kind of confused, cause it seems like if there's a "Master DataSource " -the first one created, I suppose-, so if this DataSource  does not get any records, then CR stops retrieving information for the other(s). Which I think should not happen since both datasources are not related at all
    It would be not a problem if it were just because, me and my team have to re-make 20 reports which we already created...unless of course there's a workaround for this. Am I missing a report option or so?
    By the way I am using Crystal Reports 2008.
    As always, any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Gabriel Sánchez

    Hi Gabriel,
    Crystal Reports is a Relational Database Reporting tool. We require all data sources to be linked some how. If they can't then Patrick's suggestion is the solution, use a subreport to format the tags.
    And you likely would have got a warning indicating that some features can not be used when multiple data sources are used.
    The reason why is because we treat NULL's a valid results, you have to test for them using the ISNULL and similar formula functions. If you don't CR will stop processing the report when it gets the first null value. Variations on this logic but generally this is how it works.
    And yes again as to why, the order data sources are added to the report can make a difference how CR generates the SQL required to run the report.
    There is one Report Option that may help, check off the option to Suppress Printing if no Records in the Report Options. It may help when viewing.
    Thank you

  • Datasource execution in background

    Hi
    i want to execute the datasource in the background.
    how can i achieve this

    Hi,
    DataSource: It is Program/Object an dit is used to bring the data from Base Tables (Eg from ECC) to BW system.
    If you want to automate this process, then you can do it by using InfoPackages, keep this InfoPackage in Process Chains and then execute Process Chain, it will run Daily.
    Is there any doubt?.Pls let us know.
    Thanks
    Reddy

  • How to debug extraction  a datasource in ecc starting execution in bw ?

    HI gurus,
    how to debug extraction  a datasource in ecc starting execution in bw ?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    In your issue i thick data source trace in BW is not possible but RFC is the main criteria here if it is correct data will comes to the bw automatically when ever info package triggers.
    If you need to check the data source data in trace mode and it is not coming properly, then we need to check from RSA3 by executing with debug mode check box option.
    Still need any clarification let me know.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Cannot deploy application because of JDBC datasource target misconfigured

    --- environnement ---
    Weblogic 10.3.2
    Windows 2008 R2
    Sun Java 6
    Hello, I'd like to have your advices on my issue.
    I tried to deploy an application in my weblogic domain but it kept on status deploy running
    My domain is configured as follow
    clusterA and clusterB
    JDBC datasource targets on clusterA and clusterB
    Today we had to rename clusterB to clusterC
    and we cannot start the managed servers (they stayed in ADMIN state) so we tried to redeploy the application but the deployment process'status was deploy running
    After investigating for a very long time, we finaly noticed that our JDBC datasource was misconfigured. After correcting this, the deployement was successfull.
    now I'm wondering how a misconfigured JDBC datasource can prevent a deployement of an ear, maybe the code is requesting something during its deployement but I don't know the application and looking at the stacktrace didn't give me any clue except the hibernate message.
    Thanks in advance for your advices.

    Hello,
    Here is the solution...
    Solution 1:
    Undeploy sap.com/cafUIservicebrowser from SP06 or SP07 before starting upgrade to SP11.
    Solution 2:
    Upgrade to SP08 first and than to SP11.
    The Solution was discussed on NW04s STAB and accepted due to following reasons:
    - There will be not much customers upgrading from SP06 or SP07 to SP11. The most of customers have already upgraded to SP08 and will not be affected by this issue.
    - Unchecking the Web Dynpro check before upgrades from from SP06 or SP07 to SP11 is unacceptable.

  • Why does it take over 2 minutes to get a database connection from the DataSource?

    Hello,
    It is taking over 2 minutes for my application to get a connection from a registered DataSource in iAS 6.0 sp4 on Solaris. The proper results are returned it just takes 2 minutes to establish the connection. The DataSource is an Oracle 9i database. I have the 9i drivers in the classpath. I also have a registered datasource that is an Oracle 8 database and have no problems establishing a connection quickly to that database. As an aside I have setup this application on JBOSS and both datasource's return a connection very quickly. If anyone has any ideas about what might be going on please respond. This issue is holding up a production release.
    Here is the code:
    try {
    log.debug("getting a new initial context");
    ctx = new InitialContext();
    ds = (DataSource) ctx.lookup(bundle.getString("IW_DATASOURCE"));
    log.debug("after looking up datasource from initial context");
    } catch (NamingException e) {
    log.error(e);
    throw new FinstarException
    (bundle.getString("E-0001"));
    try {
    log.debug("about to get connection");
    conn = ds.getConnection();
    log.debug("after getting connection");
    Produces this in the logs:
    2002-05-29 08:55:12,859 DEBUG org.mitre.mii.project.finstar.FinancialSummary - about to get connection
    2002-05-29 08:57:24,963 DEBUG org.mitre.mii.project.finstar.FinancialSummary - after getting connection
    Here is the datasource registration file:
    <ias-resource>
    <resource>
    <jndi-name>jdbc/pdc/IWDataSource</jndi-name>
    <jdbc>
    <database-url>jdbc:oracle:thin:@xxx.xxx.org:1521:acisdb</database-url>
    <datasource>jdbc/pdc/IWDataSource</datasource>
    <username>XXXXX</username>
    <password>XXXXX</password>
    <driver-type>OracleThinDriver</driver-type>
    </jdbc>
    </resource>
    </ias-resource>

    Have you tried to eliminate everything extraneous. In other words, do you experience the same delays with a simple Java program (no lookups, JNDI) that loads the drivermanager and creates a connection.
    Do you have access to a traciong JVM or some program that captures run-time execution timing information? Even without the source, this will tell you the specific class::methos where time is spent so you can better determine where the delay is ocurring.

  • CatchAll block not catching JTA timeout with XA datasource

    Hi,
    We have a synchronous BPEL process with DB Adapters calling XA datasource. We configured a CatchAll block to catch any exception that may arise during the execution. JTA timeout is 5 min (300s). DB Adapter calls a procedure in which we have introduced delay using DBMS Lock API.

    You can use the SOA Fault Management Framework to capture this error and handle it accordingly.  Use a <test> condition in the fault policy file to test for the specific $fault values you're getting in this error and then link to what you need to execute to handle the error in the corresponding <action> element. In the fault binding file bind this aforementioned fault policy to the DB Adapter reference component via the <reference> element. Alternatively you could bind it to the composite if the test condition is sufficiently detailed enough.
    Hope it helps.

  • Understanding Datasources

    Hi gurus,
    I have an issue in seecting the DS in DS expert, I am refering to a report in building a new report with slight modifications on same DB.
    Firstly, I am in satandard report creation wizard - what is the diffrence of Datasources's - Dataroot/Variance_Xtab and Variance_Xtab (XML Webservices) (probably a naming convetion query)
    And; I assumed both are same and ran the report with formatting with some sample objects and at execution it gave me some formula error as the data has to be same if DS's are same.
    Please assit me in understanding the DS basing on the tech name and formula issues diagnising
    Thanks in advance,
    Bhanu

    No idea what you are asking or talking about so I assume you are using Classic SAP data sources?
    Is this Crystal Reports Designer you are using?
    What is a DS in DS Expert?
    I suggest you post your question to the SAP Integration Kit forum or possible the B1 forum.

  • Very Urgent: UDC Error in BI datasource preview

    Hi All,
        My requirement is to extract the data from the legacy system i.e. Sybase 12.5 using UDC to SAP BI 7.0. We have established UDC connection, created view and BI 7.0 datasource. The user has all the access i.e. select, dbo access for the view. While datasource creation I have selected UDC source object from the Sybase, used default system proposed fields and activated the datasource. When I try to check the data in the preview, I am getting following message in the status bar:
    S:RSSDK:300 Query execution failed: "DB name"."dbo"."VIEW1" not found. Specify owner.objectname or use sp help to check whether the object exists (sphelp may produce lots of output). I have checked in the URL http://<hostname>:port/TestJDBC_Web/TestJDBCPage.jsp before preview, it worked fine and showed all the table names and data in tables.
    By same username I have logged in Sybase and ran created view, which extracted data without any problems.
    We have followed same procedure for creation of connections, views and datasources for SQL server, it is working fine without any issues. We have problem only with Sybase system. Would anyone help me in resolving this issue. ******Gurantee of award points********
    Regards
    Eric.

    Hi All,
        Any ideas or thoughts on this issue, I greatly apprecaite your time and help.
    Thanks,
    Eric.

  • Creating BADI for datasource enhancement in CRM system

    Hi,
    I am working on SAP BI/BW. This is the first time I am working in CRM system with CRM datasources. Facing some problem for datasource enhancement as never done it before in the CRM system. Is there anyone who can help in in creating BADI for datasource enhancement in CRM.
    Thanks in advance
    Moumita

    Hi Kushal,
    You can find the BADI name by,
    Go to Transaction SE24
    Enter the Object Type CL_EXITHANDLER and click on Display.
    Double Click on method "GET_INSTANCE".
    Put a Break-point on Call method cl_exithandler=>get_class_name_by_interface
    Run RSA3 transaction and execute the DataSource.
    The execution will stop at the break point.
    Check the values of variable 'exit_name', it will give you the BADI name called at that time.
    Thanks,
    Kokila

    How to fine the exact badi:
    1) Goto se24 (Display class cl_exithandler)
    2) Double click on the method GET_INSTANCE.
    3) Put a break point at Line no.25 (CASE sy-subrc).
    Now
    4) Execute SAP standard transaction
    5) Press the required button for which you need to write an exit logic, the execution will stop at the break point.
    6) Check the values of variable 'exit_name', it will give you the BADI name called at that time.
    7) This way you will find all the BADIs called on click of any button in any
    transaction

    P.Naganjana Reddy
    if you follow this 7 steps, you will find a suitable BADI.

  • APD timeout issue in execution

    Good afternoon,
    Please anybody knows about this issue? the problem description is the following:
    We have an APD in a Process Chain, this chain was running well in previous dates, but when we run it yesterday and a issue happened.
    The message that appears in common in the 3 APD's that failed when double-click is the following:
    And the process monitor shows the following log:
    As we can see the duration of the Job was 20.787 Seconds and that is not normal because when
    we run the query using RSRT or BEX the result of the query appears in 15
    seconds, so the problem is in Data Source of each APD because the time out
    problem is in execution of the Query that is the data source.  in the next 3 screens we can see it:
    When we check in the TX ST22 The list of Runtime Errors shows that is an TIME_OUT error:
    As we can see the APD is composed by the datasource in this case is a Query and there is
    an aggregation and then the data of the selected fields are written in a DSO.
    When right click and select the option "Display Data" in the APD the execution
    begins but never ends, there is the Time_Out Error.
    The properties of the Data Source in the APD about Extended Settings Tab is the following:
    When we check the TX SM50 In the following screen we can see that is a CL_SQL_RESULT_SET
    Thank you very much if anyone can help or advice to discover the cause of this problem
    and how to solve it.
    Kind regards,
    Luis Jorge

    Hi, I see you have an object aggregation. My recommendation is to redefine the query you delete this object and subtract rows to the query.
    I hope help. Regards.

  • Problem in functional extension of standard datasource 0CO_OM_CCA_9

    Hello SAP BI Gurus,
    I would like to submit a question here regarding an annoying problem I'm facing with the functional extension of the datasource 0CO_OM_CCA_9 on our SAP/R3 system.
    The extension was required to fill the Vendor column (LIFNR) in some cases where the standard extractor was leaving the field empty.
    To fulfil such a requirement I put some custom code in the customer exit modules relating to the transactional datasources (function module EXIT_SAPLRSAP_001, include module ZXRSAU01), as shown below:
    In include module ZXRSAU01:
    CASE i_datasource.
    when ...
      when '0CO_OM_CCA_9'.
        CALL FUNCTION 'ZZ0CO_OM_CCA_9'
          TABLES
            c_t_data = c_t_data.
    ENDCASE.
    The function module ZZ0CO_OM_CCA_9 finally contains the actual logic that fills the LIFNR field when it is empty and the other fields in the extracted structure enable the search of LIFNR in table MSEG:
    data: begin of mov_cdc.
            include structure ICCTRCSTA1.
    data: end of mov_cdc.
    If field LIFNR is empty its value is searched for in
    table MSEG:
      loop at c_t_data into mov_cdc.
        if ( mov_cdc-lifnr is initial ).
          select single lifnr into mov_cdc-lifnr from mseg
            where MBLNR = mov_cdc-REFBN
            and MJAHR = mov_cdc-REFGJ
            and ZEILE = mov_cdc-REFBZ
            and MATNR = mov_cdc-MATNR
            and WERKS = mov_cdc-werks.
          if ( sy-subrc = 0 ).
              modify c_t_data from mov_cdc INDEX sy-tabix.
          endif.
        endif.
      endloop.
    ENDFUNCTION.
    With this customer exit saved and activated, the datasource extractor works fine when launched locally on the R/3 system with the execution test utility for datasources (transaction RSA6).
    The weird behaviour that I really can't explain arises when the extractor is activated remotely by our BW system.
    In this case, differently from the local execution case, when the custom code is executed we see that the fields REFBN, REFGJ and REFBZ of the extracted structure are always empty and therefore the query select always fails.
    Of course, we have replicated the datasource in the BW system more than once to be sure to make the datasource changes visible.
    Since the R/3 user launching the extractor remotely (BWREMOTE) was different from the user that launched it successfully in local tests, as a first trial we tried to assign the SAP_ALL profile to BWREMOTE, but nothing has changed.
    To summarize, the datasource extractor 0CO_OM_CCA_9 seems not to be extracting the fields
    REFBN,
    REFGJ ,
    REFBZ
    when started remotely, whereas it fills those fields when it is run locally.
    Could anyone please give me an explanation of that?
    Thank you in advance for your support.

    Hello Simon,
    here you are my answers:
    1. Yes, I've run both ipak and RSA3 in the same mode (full), with the same selection parameters.
    2. I find this suggestion about debugging background processes very useful. I've been wondering several times about how to debug pieces of code in similar situations but could never find a good solution: now I know how to do in these cases. Thank you!
    In this specific case, to see what was going on in the extraction process in R/3, as an alternative to debugging I have put some logging messages in the cmod code with the WRITE statement, and then inspected the spool output of the ipak execution.
    The result of this test was that the query for selecting the LIFNR value
    select single lifnr into mov_cdc-lifnr from mseg
           where MBLNR = mov_cdc-REFBN
           and MJAHR = mov_cdc-REFGJ
           and ZEILE = mov_cdc-REFBZ
           and MATNR = mov_cdc-MATNR
           and WERKS = mov_cdc-werks.
    fails (sy-subrc = 4) because the fields REFBN, REFGJ and REFBZ are not filled (initial) in the extract structure passed to the custom function module.
    When the extraction is executed with RSA3, instead, the above mentioned fields are filled and the query works correctly.
    Thank you so much for your suggestions.
    Regards,
