  • Function Module to get Date and Time out of Timestamp

    Hi,
    Source system timestamp field CREATED_TS of Type DEC-15
    BW PSA data in format 20.140.707.105.948
    In DSO, I have created two target InfoObjects; one for Date and one for Time.
    In transformation from PSA to DSO, in field level routine, I want to split timestamp into Date and Time.
    There is a function module CACS_TIMESTAMP_GET_DATE in source system but it is not available in BW. Another function module ADDR_CONVERT_TIMESTAMP_TO_DATE which is available in BW but returns only Date.
    Does anyone know a function module in BW which takes Timestamp (PSA data in format 20.140.707.105.948) and returns Date and Time.
    Much better would be a FM which take timestamp and also Timezone  and returns Date and Time.
    Thanks
    Ahmad

    Timestamp to date time conversion (with time zone) is built into ABAP. Why use a function module?

  • Date and Time convertion in iChart

    Hi,
    My question is: The date and time field displayed in ichart is in a number format rather than a date and time format. Why?
    1. A query is created first to extract data from an oracle database. The date and time is converted to a string by using to_char(x, ‘yyyy-MM-dd, hh24:mi:ss) function.
    2. An Axcute transaction is then used to convert date and time from the first query to XML date format: As suggested by Martin Auer on Aug 22, 2006 in his answer to Sudha, I create an output document in Business Logic Editor and define a column in DateTime format. The output from xAcute is in XML date format as ‘2006-12-14T13:21:00’.
    3. The second query is created to display data for the Axcute transaction. The output from the second query in Text/xml type is shown as: <TIME>2006-12-14T13:21:00</TIME>
    4. However, when the date and time is displayed in iChart, the date and time on X-axis is presented as a number like 1.166.098.860.000,00. The data source for the chart is shown as: 2006-12-14 13:21:00
    5. The display template is derived from a template used on the training course and date format in template is set to yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss. The template is tested on the data from PlasticResin database (training course), the date and time is presented in a correct format.
    Could someone please answer my question?
    Thanks,
    Xin

    Xin,
    If you test your query (I assume it is an Xacute query) and choose text/xml - what is the SQL data type for the date/time column?
    It sound like the chart is not recognizing the query as a time-sensitive query.
    Let me know what you find,

  • Merging seperate date and time fields into a unique text field.

    I have a dropdown Calendar Date field and a dropdown Time Field in a form and I want to create an additional Text Field that displays the combination of these two fields as a unique form field that would look like this...
    Arrival Date: 1/27/2009 Arrival Time: 11:30 AM
    Record Number: This would be calculated from the two fields as (012720091130)
    Also when you press the submit button the XML file name would be the Record Number (this would be a coded filename to correspond to the time of arrival).
    Any Ideas?

    Creating the Arrival time string should be easy. Its a case of adding a number of strings together. Assuming the date is held ina field called dateField and the time is in a field called timeField the javascript expression woudl look like this:
    TargetField.rawValue = "Arrival Date: " + dateField.rawValue + " Arrival Time: " + timeField.rawValue;
    To get the recordNumber you will have to parse the unwanted chars out of the strings then add the two together just like above.
    The data file name will be the same as the PDF file that it came from. You cannot change the name of it easily without certifying the document (and that brings in its on set of problems).

  • Insert current date and time into Oracle date type field

    I have a JDBC current date and time insert into Oracle 9i that almost works. It submits the current date and a fixed time into the Oracle date type field. I am using Tomcat 6.0.20.
    For example if I insert the data at 7:24:04 PM on Feb 16, 2010 it will insert as: 16-Feb-2010 12:00:00 AM
    The date part works but the time always shows 12:00:00 AM no matter what date or time the data is inserted.
    Here is what I have for my JDBC inserts and I also tried something with DateFormat:
    PreparedStatement ps; Date mydate = new Date(new java.util.Date().getTime()); //insert statement here.... stmt.setDate(1,mydate);
    I also tried:
    PreparedStatement ps; java.sql.Timestamp mydate = new java.sql.Timestamp(new java.util.Date().getTime()); SimpleDateFormat fmt = new SimpleDateFormat(.... //insert statement here.... ps.setTimestamp(1,fmt.format(mydate));
    Both keep submitting the date into Oracle as 16-Feb-2010 12:00:00 AM
    Anyway to get the current date and time? For example if I insert the data at 7:24.04 pm today it should show as 16-Feb-2010 07:24.04 PM in Oracle.

    If you want a date and time then use java.sql.Timestamp.

  • How to make a date and time

    Hi all
    Would you mind tell me about that how to add
    date and time in to GridBagLayout?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    For Date and Time, look into java.util.Date or java.util.calender.
    For displaying use a label, set text with the Date and time , add into the GridBagLayout.
    Thats it..

    connection with the database is perfect
    but we have a very estrange problem we store date and time
    information into the database
    when we query the database we get the right information
    however when the coldfusion script
    show the result in the web the information is 1 day behind,
    I've been looking around in the CF8 administration to see if I can
    change some settings without any success.
    Example:

    I don't think the problem with with CF. In addition to the
    server's timezone, which JVM are you using? You need to at least
    1.4.2_11 to account for the recent change in daylight savings time.

  • Convert XML string into an abap format date and time

    Hi,
    Does anyone know of a method or a function module in ABAP which converts XML string into an abap format date and time.
    Here is a part of the xml that I want to convert.
    <ns2:EventDateTime>2009-07-02T10:13:45+10:00</ns2:EventDateTime>
    <ns2:EventMessageTransmissionDateTime>2009-07-02T10:13:45.987+10:00</ns2:EventMessageTransmissionDateTime>
    Currently EventDateTime and EventMessageTransmissionDateTime are type XSDDATETIME_Z and these are converted to proper dates and times. We will be changing these fields to a STRING instead of XSDDATETIME_Z. The reason for this is to make the field more versatile. The customer would be receiving dates with Zulu (2009-09-23T12:00:00Z), with offsets (2009-09-23T12:00:00+10:00/-10:00) and just local timestamp (2009-09-23T12:00:00). With this, we need to make the date fields as string
    to be able to accept the various date formats (esp. the local timestamp).
    I am looking for a standard function module or method that will convert the xml string to a proper date and time abap format.
    Would appreciate anyone's help!
    Thanks.

    Any ideas, I can't wire the timestamp or date/time string right into the create array
    Thanks

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Ok
    the basic problem that I see is the the LabVIEW TimeStamp type is a cluster.  Converting it to a dbl gives you a value in seconds elapsed since 1904 Jan 1 12:00AM GMT and, your spreadsheet cannot interprate that (or display that) as a "TIME."   So, you want to convert it to a string (easy TS->String check the help for format options) BUT, you might want to pass all of your data as numbers into your spreadsheet so you can post-calculate or graph other outputs vs. TIME!  This little chunk of code .....
     converts a LV Timestamp to a number that Excel interperates as "the amount of days elapsed since 0 Jan 1900 @ 12:00AM LOCAL."  You will need to format the cell in Excel to display it as a date-time But it can be operated on and graphed against with only Excel's limitations (Excel followed the Lotus bug of erroneously assuming 1900 was a leap year, and Leap seconds are unrecognized)
    Enjoy!

  • Date and time embedded in DV movie: how to get it into iMovie?

    Hi,
    I've been trying to find an answer to this question using Google, but was not succesful, so here goes.
    I am a fairly new Mac user (yup, I moved over from The Dark Side, at least when at home). Last year, I made a family movie using Ulead VideoStudio. For my workflow, I depended heavily on the date & time stamps that are embedded in the DV movies captured into Ulead from my Sony Handycam.
    Now, with iMovie, in the imports that I moved over from my Windows machine all get the date and timestamp from the files.
    Is there a way to get the embedded date & timestamps from the DV movies? If iMovie can't do it, can Final Cut Express?
    Best regards,
    Donald.

    Hi,
    After some heavy Googling and fiddling, I've solved my problem:
    - Downloaded and ran DVdate (http://paul.glagla.free.fr/dvdate_en.htm) on my Windows PC to rename files based on the timecode in the DV .avi files. (I used filename template "clip-yyyy-mm-dd+hh;mm;ss.avi" where yyyy-mm-dd is the year/month/date and hh:mm:ss is the time retreived from the actual DV timestamp).
    - Moved the files over to my iMac using an external USB drive
    - Used Automator to rename the files on the iMac (DVdate does not support a space character in filenames) to the format "clip-yyyy-mm-dd<space>hh;mm;ss.avi".
    - Now iMovie uses the real date and time of the recording of the movies, instead of the date/time from the files themselves.
    It took some time, but now I'm a happy camper
    Best regards,
    Donald.

  • Convert XMP Date and Time

    Hi, in my script I am trying to read the Date and Time using the XMP functions of a selected file in bridge.  Then, I want to convert that date and time into a format that looks like: "01/12/10 | 01:23 PM" and write that to another metadata field like the description.  Im stuck on trying to convert the date and time into what I want it to look like?  Can anyone help, thanks!
    Here is the part of the code I'm having trouble with:
    When I read the dateTimeOriginal property of the file, it is in an unfriendly format.  It looks odd and shows the time zone.  The commented lines is code that I have tried, but didn't work.  I was trying to convert the XMPDateTime object into a Date object so I can adjust the format, but I haven't been successful.
    var myXmpFile = new XMPFile( selectedFile.fsName, XMPConst.UNKNOWN, XMPConst.OPEN_FOR_UPDATE);
          var myXmp = myXmpFile.getXMP();
          var Name = myXmp.getProperty(XMPConst.NS_EXIF, "DateTimeOriginal");
          var date = new XMPDateTime(new Date(Name));
          var date2 = new Date(date);
          //dateFormat.masks.portfolioDate = 'mm/dd/yy "|" hh:MM TT';
    //date.format("portfolioDate");
    //date2.format("mm/dd/yy");
    alert(date2.toString());
    Name.convertToLocalTime();
    Name.toString();
    alert(Name);

    Thanks for helping me out Paul.  I just have one more small problem.  I am trying to access the Headline XMP property, and I know i need to use the IPTC Core property, but it doesn't seem to work.  Here is my current code, can you help me out?
