How to remember login permanently

Hi,
I don't know what I have done wrong. Each time I close the browser, I need to login again. In other forums, there is a checkbox "Remember login info" (or something like that). What should I do to make Firefox 3.01 (on WinXP SP3) to remember my login info on forums.oracle.com?

Of course I allow cookies, and my browser works OK with other forums. This forum remember my login status but forget it a little while after.
Thanks "SomeoneElse" for pointing me to the right thread discussing this issue. Although I make the question as answered but I am NOT satisfied. I would still prefer to have a checkbox to give me the choice of remembering the login info.
To the designer of the forum: so I assume the decision to force the login periodically is to enforce the security? If you ask people all the time the login, what would they do? I bet you most of them will use weak password.

This isn't hack safe. If one would hijack another user login, one could just change the username in the cookie value.
Better create a cookie with a long and autogenerated key or hash and store the key in a DB along the User ID. This makes the guessing for keys of another users hard. You can find here an example: [http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/03/user-session-filter.html].

How to Auto Login after registeration

I have the following requirement and I've spent some time trying to experiment and looking for solutions but have failed to come up with anything that works.
Requirement:
> Register the user in CQ
> Automatically login the user once he registers
> The user should stay logged in (remember me forever)
I've am able to succesfully register the user using the OOTB examples. I created my own register form action based off the libs/foundation/components/actions/update/post.POST.jsp file.
I've looked into several api's to figure out how to auto login once the
am.getOrCreateAccount() call finishes successfully
I tried

ITunes still not remembering login details

Hello all,
Is anyone experiencing the fact that iTunes "STILL" does not remember login details for premium Podcasts? I put in the username and password, click the little "Remember Password" box, log out as a test and then, nothing. No remember jack. I was hoping that Apple would listen and fix this but alas they only care about what they care about.
Did anyone find a work around to this problem. Thanks in advance.

How hard is it for Apple to fix this problem? I am sure the mods will come by and delete my post because I did not speak highly of Apple and the wonder and joy that they bring the world but how about simply making iTunes work as it is advertised? You need to change the parameter on RZ10 select the Default profile add the parameter and change the value and save & activate the profile. Restart the SAP Server and you would be able to login.
This process is widely available if you will search on google you will find out.

How to 'remember' a field value inside a BAdI?

Hi all,
We need to implement some code in a BAdI for Healthcare. The BAdI is active in the PBO of transaction NV2000. We need to read the value of one field and, if this field has a certain value, default another field with a certain value.
The problem is - this BAdI reads each time another structure which you can change, but the two fields in question are in two different structures. So it's like:
CASE i_structure_name.
    WHEN 'RNBADI_ADM'.
      MOVE c_data TO ls_rnbadi_adm.
*here I could read the value of my controle field which can be found in ls_rnbadi_adm
    WHEN 'RNBADI_EXTDOC_ADM'.
      MOVE c_data TO ls_rnbadi_extdoc_adm.
here I could change my other field which can be found in ls_rnbadi_extdoc_adm
give changed data back
      c_data = ls_rnbadi_extdoc_adm.
The problem is, in the step where structure ls_rnbadi_extdoc_adm is filled, structure ls_rnbadi_adm is empty so the value of the control field is not accessible any more. The control field is also not an interface parameter so I don't really know its value at runtime... it can be changed so selecting it from the database is not a good idea...
I thought to declare a 'static' variable and give it the value of the control field in the step where ls_rnbadi_adm was filled, so the program would remember it in the step where ls_rnbadi_extdoc_adm was filled. But the ABAP Editor gives a syntax error 'you can't declare statics inside an instance method'.
So any idea how to 'remember' the value of that control field?

You should not change the standard SAP interface but your implementation of the interface (the BADI). Use transaction SE19, enter the name of your implementation, Hit change and go to the tab Interface. Then double click on the name of the implementing class and go to the tab Attributes.

when you are using the struts 2.0 the web.xml has a welcome-file-list. I have put index.html in that list so it pulls up first.
It has the following tag

        </ul>so this maps to struts.xml which contains the showLoginClientSideValidation.action tag

            <result name="input">/pages/loginClientSideValidation.jsp</result>

          this displays the jsp "loginClientSideValidation.jsp"
once you enter the details in the jsp and click submit the control goes to Login.java file as per the mapping in struts.xml given above
This is just a simple java file which contains the execute() method. This method returns success or error.
If success is returned then the Loginsuccess.jsp is invoked
If error is returned then the loginClientSideValidation.jsp is invoked

I have also understood that to use client side validation you use validate = "true" in loginClientSideValidation.jsp
However what I am not able to understand is how the Login-validation.xml file is being invoked

i found something interesting that I want to share
Validation rules are handled by validators, which must be registered with the ValidatorFactory (using the registerValidator method). The simplest way to do so is to add a file name validators.xml in the root of the classpath (/WEB-INF/classes) that declares all the validators you intend to use.
validators.xml if being defined should be available in the classpath. However this is not necessary, if no custom validator is needed. Webwork will automatically picked up a predefined sets of validators defined in com/opensymphony/xwork/validator/validators/default.xml packaged together in xwork jar file that comes with webwork distribution.
So this is clear that the validators are defined in validators.xml or default.xml
What is still not clear is how is the Login-validation.xml being called by jsp page to do verification and then linking to validators.xml to apply the rules.
However people have been telling me that ----" Struts 2.0 have inbuilt functionalities to validate the Parameters" and that i need to
"Define configuration file *-validation.xml or use annotations
i) className-validation.xml
ii) place this file in the directory where .class file is placed example.Login should have Login-validation.xml
Do you all think is this sufficient for an answer or should my search go on?

I have a h:dataTable storing header information, there is a column "refno" which is a h:commandlink (or h:outputlink) so user can select that column and jump to the detail page.
My problem is how to remember the refno so I can use it in the detail page?

If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password. In OS X 10.10 and later, this option also works with FileVault, but only if you enabled it when you activated FileVault. It's not retroactive.
Otherwise*, start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities window appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar at the top of the screen—not from any of the items in the OS X Utilities window.
In the window that opens, type this:
resetp
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window opens. Close the Terminal window to get it out of the way.
Select the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected. You won't be able to do this if FileVault is active.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
Select
 ▹ Restart
from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but the Keychain will be reset (empty.) If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as the login password), there's no way to recover it.

How to auto login and pass data (parameter) to ApEx at the same time

Does anybody know how to automatically login to apex (e.g. from JSP page) and pass a parameter value at the same time? I can use wwv_flow_custom_auth_std to login, I can even choose a page but I cannot pass any data (at least I do not know how). If I use f?p URL syntax I can pass data but there is no way to pass login/password information.

You could copy your login page and make the new page "public". On the new page, add a process before the login process that sets the value of application item FSP_AFTER_LOGIN_URL to the report page URL (with the arguments), e.g., :FSP_AFTER_LOGIN_URL := 'f?p=&APP_ID.:100:&SESSION.::NO::P100_X,P100_Y:&RPT_VALUE1.,&RPT_VALUE2.';Create application-level items RPT_VALUE1 and RPT_VALUE2 in the application.
From your external page, POST to this new "login" page, passing values for the username, password, rpt_value1, and rpt_value2 items.
Let us know if it works.
