Date comparison behaves differently in deployment

Hi All
I needed to compare dates entered by the user when selected thru an lov or inputed. So I went about converting the string dates in its screen related format(dd/MM/yyyy) to comparable oracl date format(yyyy-MM-dd). I'm not sure why I went for yyyy-MM-dd, but thats how I guess it expected it when comparing.
- The lov provides the items in String format
- I convert string date to oracle.jbo.domain.date with the required format
- and then do the comparison
Now the problem I'm having is the comparison works fine in IWLS, but it does not compare when I deploy the app.
The IWLS is 11.1.1.3 and the deployment server is 11.1.1.6.
Also the IWLS is in a windows box and the server is in linux.
I'm not sure that the server or OS would be an issue which I suspect it wouldnt be.
The reason I pointed out the OS and server versions is because the logs that I print out shows different date formats when run in both servers.
for instance, in IWLS/Win, my log shows
rowDateSTRING= 01/09/2012, convertedRowDateDATE=Sat Sep 01 00:00:00 GMT 2012, finalEndDateDATE=2012-09-01
in my deployed app on WLS/linx 11.1.1.6 it shows
rowDateSTRING= 01/09/2012, convertedRowDateDATE=Sat Sep 01 00:00:00 WST 2012, finalEndDateDATE=2012-09-01
Notice the WST vs GMT.

Also the date forma displayed on the screen is different to that when I entered it.
I entered in dd/MM/yyyy format and on reslecting the row in the view page the entered row is displayed as mm/dd/yyyy.
But in IWLS, its the same when I enter and when I view

  • Idoc data  comparison between different R/3 clients.

    Hi ppl ,
Is there a way idoc comparison can be done between different clients without going
by Segment by Segment comparison ?
I have a requirement wherein i have thousands of idocs in QA system and i need to
compare those with the ones in PROD system. The segments in the idocs may vary
depending on the data that flows from the third party system which will post idocs in R/3.
So, the segment wise comparison of data is also ruled out .
Do we have any standard reports which will help in achieving this purpose ?
Please let me know how the idoc data comparison can be carried out .
    Regards,
    Nick.

    Hi Nick,
There is no standared tools available for comparing the data of two idocs.
By using beyond compare s/w you can check the data, but the thing is you have to download the idoc data to file format.
By using Idoc_xml_transform function module you can download idoc data to xml format, after you can compare.
    Check this

  • Fonts behave different in Photoshop in comparison with Illustrator

I have a problem: it seems that some fonts behave different in Photoshop CS than in Illustrator CS on my Windows XP. Where Illustrator opens a vector (Ill) EPS file correct Photoshop shows me wrong characters sometimes: for example: an é becomes a wrong character: Capital O with a stroke through it. Frutiger was used.
My question is: where does Photoshop behave different reading fonts in comparison with Illustrator?

Perhaps you forgot to embed the font?
Here comes an example, using characters  with accents.
The font is GillSans-Schoolbook. The font or subset is embedded.
The file extension TXT should be replaced by EPS after downloading.
The EPS doesn't contain a preview image.
The file is correctly handled by
    Photoshop CS2 (opened)
    InDesign CS2 (placed)
    Illustrator CS2 (opened)
    PSAlter (PostScript interpreter by Quite)
All characters with accents are missing in

Can you please help me finish up my program.

  • Question on How to Use LI and NP Data Comparison Report

    Hi,
We are trying to figure out how to make the Transaction Code PC00_M42_LLPD (LI and NP Data Comparison Report) work. What file type (.xls, .txt, etc) should be used?  Anyone who is familiar with the transaction, please help.
    Best Regards,
    Bry

Somewhere in the Oracle 8.0 documentation it is stated that one
enviroment per each thread is required if I want to ensure
complete concurrency of different threads accessing databases.
But isn't this a waste of resources since only Handle Alloc &
Free functions use Enviroment handle, hence they should be
mutexed for access from concurrent threads.
But the most time-consuming functions are ServerAttach &
SessionBegin which shouldn't be mutexed since they have each
    their own Server/Session handle.
So my question is if a single OCI Enviroment is enough for the
most demanding tasks or should I create one enviroment per
    thread?
Most folks are happy with a single environment. The mutex on the
env handle is only taken when the OCI library is allocating some
    memory for internal operations.

  • Hashtable behaves differently in 32 bit vs 64 bit application

    Hi,
I have an application that I am porting from 32-bit to 64-bit deployment. Its a three-tier application with its business logic residing on 2003 servers (currently), and we are moving this logic to 2008 servers. We are going to leverage the 64-bit deployment
of this business logic, which will be called by clients via IIS 7.5. But when I am executing same code in 2003 env. vs 2008 env., the Hashtables are behaving differently. The issue here is very weird. Let's consider an arbitrary scenario:
I create a new hashtable, and add three keys to it as below:
    Key1 - Val1
    Key2 - Val2
    Key3 - Val3
Now when I traverse this Hashtable, I see different behaviors on 2003 and 2008 servers (i.e. 32-bit vs 64-bit processor architecture). When pointing to 2003 servers, the Hashtable traversal gives me keys as
    Key1
    Key2
    Key3.
However, when I traverse this same Hashtable by pointing to 2008 servers, the traversal happens as
    Key3
    Key1
    Key2
This difference in ordering is causing multiple issues in the application. The values for these keys are lists of a custom object, and the order in which the Hashtable gets traversed results in different behavior across two environments. Any help on this
issue ASAP will be highly appreciated.

How do the keys compare?  If the hashcodes come from the object, does the calculated hash differ between environments?
Why code the app so that it cares about the order of the hashtable?  If you care about order, then a hashtable is the wrong thing to be using.

  • Date Comparison

    Hello All,
    UCCX 9
Scenario: I would like the script to do a date comparison so that if Today's date is before xx/xx/xx or after xx/xx/xx I can direct it to different steps in the scripts.
    I have 3 string variables
Current_Date  - Changes depending on the day
    Begin_Date    - 2/1/2014
    End_Date      - 2/10/2014
    Step 1
    I have an IF statement
    If Current_Date < Begin_Date
    -True Goes to Time_of_Day_check
    -False Goes to End_Date_check
    Step 2
If the above outcome is False it checks the End_Date
    IF Current_Date >End_Date
    -True   Goes to Time_of_Day_check
    -False Goes to Alternative Time_Of_Day_check
The issues I'm having is with Step 2
When the End_Date is less than 2/6/2014 it works fine.
For example if End_date is 2/3/2014 it goes to True, which is correct.
    However,
When the date is 2/10/2014, it still goes to True.., which is incorrect
When I change the End_Date to 3/1/2014, then it starts going to False
Am I unable to compare dates like this?  Is there a better way to compare dates?
    Thank you,

I'm not sure I understand what you're doing, in order to give you an answer, however, I can tell you that Date objects, not Strings, are what you're going to want to work with when performing comparisons.
Date object values are also just a Long value for the number of milliseconds since Jan 1, 1970 at 00:00:00.000 AM.
It's key that you understand that it's the number of millisecond that it's holding.  Which explains why this is true today:  D[now] > D[2/6/2014].  Today being 2/6/2014 of course.  That because D[now] holds the current time the step is executed, whereas D[2/6/2014] is left to hold the time 00:00:00.000.  And no matter what time it is when the script executes, there's only a 1/86400000th of the day's time that they will be equal, which will make the conditional false.  Therefore, you would enter D[now] >= D[2/6/2014], which would be true for all 86400000 milliseconds of the day.  I, like you, would have expected that original condition to be false, because today is not after 2/6/2014; today is 2/6/2014.
The easiest way, in my opinion, to compare two dates, without consideration for their time values, is to reset the time values of both objects to the same value.
    E.g.,
    Set today = new Date()Set today = new Date(today.getYear(), today.getMonth(), today.getDate())Set start_date = new Date(2014 - 1900, 2, 6)Set end_date = new Date(2014 - 1900, 2, 14)If (today >= start_date && today <= end_date)     True          Goto Alt ToD     False          Goto ToD

  • XPATH query behaves differently depending on presence of default namespace

Next, I use the following two queries to get attribute values from the xml messages:
    First query using xmlns:
    select extractvalue(value(v),'/Product/@Ind' ) ind
    , extractvalue(value(v),'/*/@Ind' ) ind2
    from xml_messages f
    , TABLE(XMLSequence( extract(f.message
         ,'/Bereken/Reglementen/Reglement/Producten/Product'
                                  ,'xmlns="http://schemas.myco.nl/services/IPP"'
                                  ))) v
where f.id = 1; -- Selects from the xmltype message that does have xmlns specified
This returns (as the first row)
    IND IND2
    ____ 1002
    ^
    |------ Nothing is returned by the XPATH /Product/@Ind
    Second without using xmlns
    select extractvalue(value(v),'/Product/@Ind' ) ind
    , extractvalue(value(v),'/*/@Ind' ) ind2
    from xml_messages f
    , TABLE(XMLSequence( extract(f.message
         ,'/Bereken/Reglementen/Reglement/Producten/Product'
                                  ))) v
where f.id = 2; -- Selects from the xmltype message that has no xmlns
This returns (as the first row)
    IND IND2
    1002 1002
According to XMLSpy, the correct XPATH to get the "Ind" attribute is "/Product/@Ind" so what I dont understand is why query one doesnt return any data when using a default namespace.
The XPATH "/*/@Ind" works in both cases and can be used as a workaround, but it seems less elegant than using the proper XPATH.
I've tried this test case in 9i and 10g, in sqlplus and TOAD, with the same results in all cases.
Can anyone provide some insight as to why this behavior occurs?

    Thanks, A_Non,
adding the third parm to the extractvalue part of the query works.
    ie:
    select extractvalue(value(v),'/Product/@Ind', 'xmlns="http://schemas.myco.nl/services/IPP"' ) ind
    , extractvalue(value(v),'/*/@Ind' ) ind2
    from xml_messages f
    , TABLE(XMLSequence( extract(f.message
         ,'/Bereken/Reglementen/Reglement/Producten/Product'
                                  ,'xmlns="http://schemas.myco.nl/services/IPP"'
                                  ))) v
    where f.id = 1;
I had not expected this because I thought the xml fragment returned by the extract didnt include the default namespace.
However, when looking at the query in more detail, its clear Oracle automatically includes the xmlns part in the returned xml fragment.

  • APEX Application accessing data from two different databases

    Hi All,
Currently as we all know that APEX Application resides in database and is connected to the schema of that database.
I want APEX Application to be running and accessing data from two different databases. Elaborating my question,
Currently, my APEX Production Application is connected with XXXX Schema of DB1 Database(Where APEX Resides). Now I want to add some pages into this APEX Application for REPORT Purpose, But I want to connect this REPORT APEX Pages to get data from Different Schema YYYY for Database DB2.
Is it possible to configure this scenario?
The reason for doing this is to avoid the REPORT related (adhoc queries) resource utilization effect on Production DB1 Database.
    Thanks
    Nil

    1. If you do the joining of two or more tables in DB1 then all data is pulled over to DB1 and then the join is executed: so more data over the databaselink and more work for DB1. Better keep the joining stuff where the data resides and just pull exactly that data over that you need.
    2. Don't know about your different block sizes. Seems a nice question for one of the other forums (DBA or SQL).
    3. I mean create synonyms on DB1 for reports VIEWS in DB2.
    Hope all is clear!

  • Can I populate a text field in one PDF with the modification date of a different file ?

Rather convoluted problem here but I'm trying to place a text field on a PDF document that serves as the main menu page for a library of interlinked PDF documents
The complete library contains over 7,000 files and additions are added and documents changed almost daily.
We currently use batch files to open the main menu from it's shortcut and this runs a check on a sync log file (.txt) to ascertain when the last time the user synchronised with the server to get the latest copy of the files.
Between a certain time range they are told how long it has been since they sync'ed and are offered the option to sync before opening, after a prescribed timeframe they cannot enter without synchronising. We use Allways Sync to conduct the file synchronisation with our mother files on our server.
What I'd like to do is take advantage of Allways Syncs automatic synchronisation options to synchronise on log on and at prescribed idle periods there after.
This works fine but I'd like the text field on the main menu PDF to say when the last synchronisation took place - easy if the main menu is the last file modified .. just use info.modDate.
However, the main menu is rarely modified therefore I wish to import the text to populate the text field from a different file.. either by interrogating the other files modifictaion data (though I doubt Acrobat can do this) or by simply importing some text stored in another file (a .txt file?) which has previously been created by batch file commands.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Nifty Styles
    (Norfolk, England)
P.S.  I'm using Acrobat 8.3.1. Professional on Windows XP (SP3).

Thank you for all your help above.
Just to confirm your advice, am I right with the following conclusions? :
    1. The script (function) to fill the text field with the modification date of a different PDF file needs to be stored in a folder level .js file.
    2. The document containing the text field needs to call the .js function either within the document script or within the custom script property of the text field itself.
Further to that can you just advise on the syntax for accessing the modification date of the other document.
Do I need to assign a variable to the address of the file to be used, and then use this variable in the text form filling script (as below) or can I use a direct file reference at the .modDate command.
    var LastSync = "C:\sync\bin\lastsync.pdf";
    var strMsg = util.printd("h:MM tt",LastSync.modDate) + " on ";
    strMsg += util.printd("dddd, d mmmm, yyyy",LastSync.modDate);
    this.getField("LastSyncDate").value = strMsg;
If the syntax is totally different to the above I would be very grateful for some guidance in the right direction.
I much appreciate your time to help me ... I'm almost there.
    Kind Regards,
    Nifty

can i load this source data into two staging tables by using single standard interface(some business logic is there)
If i can then give me some suggestion how to do that

  • MapViewer metadata problem - accessing spatial data in a different schema.

I have a MapViewer application that uses data from three different schemas.
    1. Dynamic Themes come from schema A.
    2. Static Themes come from schema B.
    3. A newly added static theme in B whose data comes from schema C.
The mapviewer datasource points to schema B where the static themes, data and metadata are defined while the dynamic themes have their own datasource specified as part of addJDBCTheme(...).
To get the newly added map to work I've had to add a view in schema B that points to C instead of referencing directly the table and I've had to add the metadata twice, once for schema B and once for schema C.
If I put the metadata in just one of the two schemas I get the following errors.
08/11/21 13:58:57 ERROR [oracle.sdovis.ThemeTable] cannot find entry in ALL_SDO_GEOM_METADATA table for theme: AMBITOS_REST
    08/11/21 13:58:57 ERROR [oracle.sdovis.ThemeTable] java.sql.SQLException: Invalid column index
    OR
    08/11/21 13:53:39 ERROR [oracle.sdovis.theme.pgtp] java.sql.SQLException: ORA-29902: error in executing ODCIIndexStart() routine
ORA-13203: failed to read USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA view
It's not a big deal but I'd like to know if anyone else has has similar problems.
    Saludos,
    Lew.

    Hi Lew,
if you are using a recent version (10.1.3.1 or later) there is no need to use a view and to create the metadata in both schemas.
You need to grant selection on tables between the schemas.
You can try the following. Assume you have the MVDEMO schema (from MapViewer kit) and SCOTT schema.
    1) grant select on MVDEMO Counties table to SCOTT
    SQL> grant select on counties to scott;
    2) Now you are ready to create a predefined theme in schema SCOTT using the MVDEMO Counties table.
    - Open MapBuilder and loads the SCOTT schema.
    - On the Data navigator (bottom left tree), go to Geometry tables and you should see the MVDEMO node and the COUNTIES node inside it.
    - Start a wizard to create a geometry theme based on this Counties table.
    - At the end you should see that the base table name is MVDEMO.COUNTIES. Therefore MapViewer will use the metadata in MVDEMO schema and there is no need to replicate it in SCOTT schema.

  • Reading Data From a Different Planning Package in a Exit Function

    Hi,
Is it possible to read data from a planning level / package other than the package that the exit function was executed with?  I want to read data into an internal table from another package and use that data in combination with the data in the current package to create new records.  If this is possible sample code for how to read data from a different package would be appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Mel Waldner

    Hi,
As an example lets say you have restricted 0calmonth in your package to 6.2007. In the planning layout to fetch values for 5.2007 (read only), you can take 0calmonth in data columns, and for this column restrict it as 5.2007.
Similarly in Planning functions, you can mark 0calmonth as field to be changed and fetch data for 5.2007.
    Hope this helps.
