  • Date format to DDMMYYYY for leave request web dynpro

    Dear All,
Can someone tell me how to change the date format to ddmmyyy in the leave request dynpro page. I already set in the parameter in SU01 but still it remain as mmddyyyy.
    Thanks
    Regards,

    Hi Brain,
The Java Web Dynpro uses the Portal UME Language, rather than the SU01, if you set the user language to English UK via the Portal Identity Management the date will be displayed correctly.

  • Change Date format to Text for Import

I have used Sql Server Integration Services to extract some data into Excel.  When I load the files it seems that not all the time the dates are formatted with the time.  If I format the field this just changes the display value and not the underlying
field value.  I have tried to copy the field into notepad, add a new field format this as text and then paste the desired format.  But this also does not
always work.  Is there an easy way to change the date/time value so it is always in a consistent format to import into another system?

    Hi SBolton,
If I understand correctly, you want to change a column from Date data type to Text while importing data to Excel.
If in this scenario, we can use Data Conversion Transformation or Derived Column Transformation to convert the original Date data type to Text data type, then use the new column maps to the corresponding Destination column.

  • Date format changed while printing invoice

    Dear All,
Since yestardayin production server the date format of invoice is like 12.02.2010,but form morning it is comming like 2010.02.12.
I have checked in quality and it is still comming like 12.02.2010.
Could you please tell me why is it comming?
    Regards,
    Amar

    Dear Amar,
1 Check the user profile for default type od date value in production system and compare it with quality. If this is not as per the quality system then change it.
2 if both system quality and production both have same date format then  you have to debug and find out the issue.
Hope you need not to go for second point.

  • Date format in Discovere Reports

We have created a workbook with a parameter which is supposed to show up an LOV for a parameter in the MON-RR format. Now this LOV shows up
correctly in the Discoverer Desktop edition as MON-RR format, but when we view
the same in Discoverer Viewer it shows up as DD-MON-RRRR.
Earlier we had got a partial resolution on this issue (TAR 3891425.996), wherein by changing the ICX
profile value in Oracle Applications, we are able to set the date mask to MON-R
    R.
But now the above profile applies to all the reports and all the dates show up as MON-RR, whereas we want to continue showing the date in DD-MON-RRRR forma
t in some of the reports.
How can this be achieved ?

  • DATE format - while defining the table column

    Hi Friends,
I came across a piece of code which was applying a TO_DATE() function on a date type column.
I have two tables t1 and t2 and they have col1 and col2 columns respectively of type DATE
    t1
    col1 DATE
    t2
col2 DATEalso there is a variable var1 and is defined as below:
var1 DATE;now I have conditions as below in the code:
    AND to_date(t1.col1,'dd/mm/yyyy') = to_date(t2.col2,'dd/mm/yyyy')
AND to_date(t1.col1,'dd/mm/yyyy') = to_date(var1,'dd/mm/yyyy')This code failed on Production with an error: ORA-01861 literal does not match format string
I changed the code to remove TO_DATE() and it worked fine. Dev clarified that they used this function so that if the two columns or variable are in diff date format.,..they can be put in sync.
e.g. if col1 is dd/mm/yyyy and col2 is mm/dd/yyyy then there will be an issue.
My doubt is.. in a given environment if we are creating a table and defining a column of type DATE , or defining a variable of type DATE, can their format be different at any time? I think No.?
In what scenario can the date format be different?
    Thanks,

Having said that date format is only for display purposes, if you tend to avoid the error without changing the code then you can modify the NLS_DATE_FORMAT parameter at session level.
    SQL> alter session set nls_date_format = 'dd-mm-yyyy'
      2  /
    Session altered.
    SQL> select to_date(sysdate,'dd/mm/yyyy') from dual
      2  /
    TO_DATE(SY
    29-12-2008
    SQL> alter session set nls_date_format = 'mm-dd-yyyy'
      2  /
    Session altered.
    SQL> select to_date(sysdate,'dd/mm/yyyy') from dual
      2  /
    select to_date(sysdate,'dd/mm/yyyy') from dual
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-01843: not a valid month
    SQL> select to_date(sysdate,'mm/dd/yyyy') from dual
      2  /
    TO_DATE(SY
    12-29-2008Thanks,
    Karthick.

  • Date Format in Leave Request

    Hi All,
We are using ESS on Portal, with EHp3. In leave request we want to change the date format (From Date and To Date) from MMDDYYYY to DDMMYYYY.
In back-end we are maitaining the date format as DDMMYYYY for the R3 User. Dont know where we maintain these settings in portal.
    Please help to solve this

    Hi Sravanthi,
Too late to answer but, i have also faced this issue.
    1) Change the Language at Portal User Administration (Language to UK-English)
    2) Change the language at System Administration --> System Configuration (Language to UK-English)
    3) Change the language at Visual Admin (Language Properties)
    4) Change the Language at IE Explorer Tools -->InternetOptions --> General Data tab --> Languages button --> (Language to UK-English)
    5) In the server there is a property file where the language properties are maintained. You can change that as well.
    6) Write a Java program which collects all the users and  change the language using coding by using API
    7) Change the Language at R/3 SUO1 Screen.
Out of all these techiniques every step has its advantages and disadvantages, I prefer Step1 is a better choice.
Please let me know what solution you have followed so that i too follow the same

  • Date Formats in Oracle Applications Forms and Oracle Self Service

Can someone tell me what determines the Date format that appears on Oracle Applications Forms and Oracle Self Service ?
*1.* In Oracle HRMS,all dates i see on the Forms are of the Format "MM/DD/YYYY" but my NLS Parameters are not in this format .I'm giving the results for the NLS parameters below.I thought the date formats are determined by the NLS format. Is there something else that determines the date format appearing on Oracle Applications Forms ?
    NLS_DATABASE_PARAMETERS
    NLS_DATE_FORMAT     :DD-MON-RR
    NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE     :AMERICAN
    NLS_LANGUAGE     :AMERICAN
    NLS_TERRITORY     :AMERICA
    NLS_INSTANCE_PARAMETERS
    NLS_DATE_FORMAT     :DD-MON-RR
    NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE     :
    NLS_LANGUAGE     :american
    NLS_TERRITORY     :america
    NLS_SESSION_PARAMETERS
    NLS_DATE_FORMAT     :DD-MON-RR
    NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE     :
    NLS_LANGUAGE     :american
    NLS_TERRITORY     :america
*2* What about the profile option : ICX_DATE_FORMAT_MASK ? Does it determine the Date Format for Self Service alone or does it impact the date format appearing on Oracle Applications Forms and the actual database also ?
*3* If I use a to_date function in ,say, a pl/sql function that i code for some custom requirements, what will be the output of the date format ? Does it take the format given in NLS paramaters or is it determined by anything else?
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply ,but I'm still confused ..
Here are the profile options I'm seeing for one of my instance :
ICX: Date format mask - 12/31/1999
ICX: Date language - American English
    ICX: Language - American English
    ICX: NLS Sort - BINARY
    ICX: Territory - United States
    ICX: Numeric characters - NULL
NLS parameters are given in my original email.
In Self Service applications(OAF) ,the date format is appearing in "mm/dd/yyyy" format but when i login to Forms based applications ,I see the date format as "dd-mon-yyyy".What determines this date format ?
How can i make the date format to always return one format everywhere ,be it Self Service (OAF) or Oracle Forms ?
I'm getting date format related errors for my code because of default date formats changing intermittently when i log into Self Service.I want to know if there is anyway to prevent this from happening?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Need help with date format mask

Hi there, right now I'm trying to set a default date format mask constraint for one of the attributes for my table. I want to set the default mask constraint as MM/DD/YY but I don't know how to. it should be something like:
CREATE TABLE work (WorkDate DATE CHECK (WorkDate = 'MM/DD/YY'))
or something like that, but I don't think that's correct. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

What you want (and should have done) is to read the documentation, starting with the concepts:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14220/datatype.htm#CNCPT413
    http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/search?remark=quick_search&word=date&tab_id=&format=ranked
A date is stored as, well, a date, format masks only come into play when you're selecting/retrieving a date or when you want to store a string as a date. Default date formats can be set through NLS_DATE_FORMAT at session and database level.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/initparams122.htm#REFRN10119
Documentation homes (from which you can do a simple quick search):
    http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/homepage
    http://www.oracle.com/pls/db112/homepage
    Bottom line:
Trying to set a default date format mask on a date datatype column makes no sense...

  • Date format mismatch between OIM 11gR2 GTC and backend custom database table (Oracle 11g R2)

    Hi,
We have an OIM 11g R2 version running that has a GTC installed and configured. The GTC is used to provision to a 11g R2 database table via the DBAT 9.1.0.5.0 connector. Now the requirement is that the timestamp be recorded in the backend DB when a new record is provisioned to it using the GTC.
During the setup of the GTC, the target system date format is asked for should be one from among the values allowed by the following predefined formats:
Customizing Formats (The Java™ Tutorials > Internationalization > Formatting)
Now our problem is that the target DB to which the provisioning is supposed to happen, isn't under our control and hence we cannot change its schema, and the date format in that table is of the type "01-JAN-10 12.00.00.000000000 AM", which translates to "dd-MMM-yy hh.mm.ss.fffffffff (AM/PM)".
On the other hand, as you can see from the above link, none of the values that OIM allows to be passed through the GTC allow for that format to be used.
Does anyone know of any way in which we can intercept the GTC provisioning request and convert the date on the fly, after OIM has passed on the control, but before the values are written into the DB table, or does anyone know of any workarounds to this issue?
I'd really appreciate it if someone could provide a solution to this.
    Thanks.

See 26.6 for the plugin.zip directory structure, and as I said, I used the same method on a previous task in the same OIM instance.
