Date selection and date format in MSSQL

i have to make a select transaction with a microsoft SQL db. I have to select the entry in a given range of time. So i've made my little form with the datepicker of jquery. The datetime field in the database has this output:
Jan 1 2014 12:00:00:000AM
This is the format of the jquery datepicker:
{dateFormat: 'M dd yy'}
WHen i receive the GET call (but i've tested even with a POST and the output is the same)from the form i add the hours to the date (I'm using Zend framework 1.12):
$startdate= $this->getRequest()->getParam('datepicker');
$startdate= $startdate." 12:00:00:000AM";
$enddate= $this->getRequest()->getParam('datepicker1');
$enddate= $enddate." 12:00:00:000AM";
But it probably is not the right one as my select query:
SELECT [Document No_],[Sell-to Customer No_],[Planned Delivery Date],[Description],[Description 2] FROM dbo.SyncroPlanningTable WHERE CAST([Planned Delivery Date] as datetime)>='".$startdate."' AND CAST([Planned Delivery Date] as datetime)<='".$enddate."' ORDER BY [Planned Delivery Date] ASC
doesn't give any output. What am I doing wrong?

>>Jan 1 2014 12:00:00:000AM
I am not sure(I am also not so good in Zend,but still would like to give it a shot), should the format be like this?
Jan 1 2014 12:00:00.000 AM
Also SQL stores the date in the format YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss.fff(2014-02-12 21:41:00.293). So I think, if you pass the date in that format your query would work fine

  • Date selection and search help component in jsp

    Hi all:
        In sap portal jsp development enviorment, is it possible to easily program the date selection and search help ( just look like search help in webdynpro ) ?

    Hello Jianhong,
    the easiest way to set a value help is using HTMLB component in your JSP.
    To do it, use next code:
    <hbj:inputField
               id="DateInputField"
               type="date"
               showHelp="TRUE"
               ... other attributes
    />
    Before using HTMLB components in your JSP, don't forget to add this line to your page:
    <%@ taglib uri= "tagLib" prefix="hbj" %>

  • Hi All, difference btwen data selection and person selection period in ldb

    Hi All, difference btwen data selection and person selection period in ldb -pnp
    If possible provide with an example .Its Urgent pls.

    Hi,
    Difference:--
    Data Selection Period
    The data selection period enables you to specify the period in which employee data records are read. Only records which overlap with the specified period by at least one day are selected. To define an interval, enter the start date in the left column and the end date in the right column
    Person Selection Period
    When you enter a person selection period, the system selects only those employees who are members of the enterprise on at least one day in the specified period. These are persons with a valid Organizational Assignment (0001) record. Entries in the standard selection options fields limit the personnel numbers that are selected. You can specify an interval by entering the start and end dates in the left and right columns respectively.
    Selection criteria in PNP are just used to determine the pernrs which meet them. For these pernrs then all wanted data is selected. This data then is not checked against this criterias.
    An Example:
    Pernr 4711 has benn assigned to costcenter 10 from 01.01.2004 until 31.12.2004. On 01.01.2005 costcenter changes to 20.
    If you now select all employees with costcenter 10 and list their costcenters, you will get both costcenters 10 and 20.
    Most reports which use PNP have to sets of date-ranges:
    - Person selection period that controls selection of pernr.
    - Other period that controls selection of data.
    If you set person selection period in above example to 01.01.2004 and other period to 01.01.2005 and select costcenter 10 you will in fact get employee 4711 with costcenter 20 shown.
    Same effect with org-unit or any other selection criteria.

  • Data selection and Person selection

    Hi all,
    What is the difference between 'Data selection' and 'Person selection' in PNP screen.(PNP logical database)
    I searched so many . But couldn't find appropriate one. Still confusing.
    Can any one explain me with example?
    must use both at a time or any one selection is enough?
    Which situation use 'Data selection' and which situation use  'Person selection' ?
    Thanks in advance.

    thanks for all reply.
    I have one pernr 700098
    Hiring date : 01.01.2008 - 16.08.2008
    firing date : 17.08.2008 - 31.12.9999
    I developed a customized report using PNP LDB.
    If , I entered 01.01.2008 - 31.12.2008 in 'Data selection'
                  3 in employee status( active)
    or
    I entered 01.01.2008 - 31.12.2008 in 'Person selection'
                  3 in employee status( active)
    If , I entered 01.01.2008 - 31.12.2008 in 'Data selection'
                  0 in employee status( active)
    or
    I entered 01.01.2008 - 31.12.2008 in 'Person selection'
                  0 in employee status( active).
    In above all cases picking the same record. what is the use of PNP screen?
    after 'GET PERNR' pernr structure get the value of latest record from infotype P0000.ie firing record. Because it doesn't bother the status.
    For below case picking the proper one.
    If , I entered 01.01.2008 - 16.08.2008 in 'Data selection'
                  3 in employee status( active)
    or
    I entered 01.01.2008 - 16.08.2008 in 'Person selection'
                  3 in employee status( active)
    If , I entered 17.08.2008 - 31.12.2008in 'Data selection'
                  0 in employee status( active)
    or
    I entered 17.08.2008 - 31.12.2008 in 'Person selection'
                  0 in employee status( active).
    Plz any one clear me.

  • Difference b/w DATA TYPE and DATA OBJECT & differences b/w TYPE and LIKE

    hai
    can any one say the differences between Data type and Data Object.
    And also differences between TYPE and LIKE
    thanks
    Gani

    hi,
    _Data Types and Data Objects_
          Programs work with local program data – that is, with byte sequences in the working memory. Byte sequences that belong together are called fields and are characterized by a length, an identity (name), and – as a further attribute – by a data type. All programming languages have a concept that describes how the contents of a field are interpreted according to the data type.
          In the ABAP type concept, fields are called data objects. Each data object is thus an instance of an abstract data type. There are separate name spaces for data objects and data types. This means that a name can be the name of a data object as well as the name of a data type simultaneously.
    Data Types
       As well as occurring as attributes of a data object, data types can also be defined independently. You can then use them later on in conjunction with a data object. The definition of a user-defined data type is based on a set of predefined elementary data types. You can define data types either locally in the declaration part of a program using the TYPESstatement) or globally in the ABAP Dictionary. You can use your own data types to declare data objects or to check the types of parameters in generic operations.
         All programming languages distinguish between various types of data with various uses, such as ….. type data for storing or displaying values and numerical data for calculations. The attributes in question are described using data types. You can define, for example, how data is stored in the repository, and how the ABAP statements work with the data.
    Data types can be divided into elementary, reference, and complex types.
    a. Elementary Types
    These are data types of fixed or variable length that are not made up of other types.
    The difference between variable length data types and fixed length data types is that the length and the memory space required by data objects of variable length data types can change dynamically during runtime, and that these data types cannot be defined irreversibly while the data object is being declared.
    Predefined and User-Defined Elementary Data Types
    You can also define your own elementary data types in ABAP using the TYPES statement. You base these on the predefined data types. This determines all of the technical attributes of the new data type. For example, you could define a data type P_2 with two decimal places, based on the predefined data type P. You could then use this new type in your data declarations.
    b.  Reference Types
    Reference types are deep data types that describe reference variables, that is, data objects that contain references. A reference variable can be defined as a component of a complex data object such as a structure or internal table as well as a single field.
    c. Complex Data Types
    Complex data types are made up of other data types. A distinction is made here between structured types and table types.
    Data Objects
          Data objects are the physical units with which ABAP statements work at runtime. The contents of a data object occupy memory space in the program. ABAP statements access these contents by addressing the name of the data object and interpret them according to the data type.. For example, statements can write the contents of data objects in lists or in the database, they can pass them to and receive them from routines, they can change them by assigning new values, and they can compare them in logical expressions.
           Each ABAP data object has a set of technical attributes, which are fully defined at all times when an ABAP program is running (field length, number of decimal places, and data type). You declare data objects either statically in the declaration part of an ABAP program (the most important statement for this is DATA), or dynamically at runtime (for example, when you call procedures). As well as fields in the memory area of the program, the program also treats literals like data objects.
            A data object is a part of the repository whose content can be addressed and interpreted by the program. All data objects must be declared in the ABAP program and are not persistent, meaning that they only exist while the program is being executed. Before you can process persistent data (such as data from a database table or from a sequential file), you must read it into data objects first. Conversely, if you want to retain the contents of a data object beyond the end of the program, you must save it in a persistent form.
    Declaring Data Objects
          Apart from the interface parameters of procedures, you declare all of the data objects in an ABAP program or procedure in its declaration part. These declarative statements establish the data type of the object, along with any missing technical attributes. This takes place before the program is actually executed. The technical attributes can then be queried while the program is running.
         The interface parameters of procedures are generated as local data objects, but only when the procedure is actually called. You can define the technical attributes of the interface parameters in the procedure itself. If you do not, they adopt the attributes of the parameters from which they receive their values.
    ABAP contains the following kinds of data objects:
    a.  Literals
    Literals are not created by declarative statements. Instead, they exist in the program source code. Like all data objects, they have fixed technical attributes (field length, number of decimal places, data type), but no name. They are therefore referred to as unnamed data objects.
    b.  Named Data Objects
    Data objects that have a name that you can use to address the ABAP program are known as named objects. These can be objects of various types, including text symbols, variables and constants.
    Text symbols are pointers to texts in the text pool of the ABAP program. When the program starts, the corresponding data objects are generated from the texts stored in the text pool. They can be addressed using the name of the text symbol.
    Variables are data objects whose contents can be changed using ABAP statements. You declare variables using the DATA, CLASS-DATA, STATICS, PARAMETERS, SELECT-OPTIONS, and RANGESstatements.
    Constants are data objects whose contents cannot be changed. You declare constants using the CONSTANTSstatement.
    c.  Anonymous Data  Objects
    Data objects that cannot be addressed using a name are known as anonymous data objects. They are created using the CREATE DATAstatement and can be addressed using reference variables.
    d.  System-Defined Data Objects
    System-defined data objects do not have to be declared explicitly - they are always available at runtime.
    e.  Interface Work Areas
    Interface work areas are special variables that serve as interfaces between programs, screens, and logical databases. You declare interface work areas using the TABLES and NODESstatements.
    What is the difference between Type and Like?
    Answer1:
    TYPE, you assign datatype directly to the data object while declaring.
    LIKE,you assign the datatype of another object to the declaring data object. The datatype is referenced indirectly.
    Answer2:
    Type is a keyword used to refer to a data type whereas Like is a keyword used to copy the existing properties of already existing data object.
    Answer3:
    type refers the existing data type
    like refers the existing data object

    How to create metabase for Oracle Data Profiling and Data Quality.Is metabase and repository are same.

    Hi,
    You can create a metabase in the Metabase Manager:
    - Expand Control Admin
    - Click on Metabases
    - in the Metabases window, right-click on the white area and select Add...
    - go through the wizard to create your metabase
    This is documented in the ODQ/ODP tutorial (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/oracle-data-quality/pdf/oracledq_tutorial.pdf) and in the Documentation (in Metabase Manager or Oracle Data Quality go to Help and then Manuals).

  • Populate select list when a date selected from date picker in tabular form

    Hi Guys,
    I have a situation where user picks a date from a date picker in tabular form.
    So as soon as he picks a date say 05/31/2011 from the date picker I want to populate a select list with 2 values : Tuesday AM , Tuesday PM.
    I have gone through the forums a lot and figured we can write a Dynamic Action using JQuery Selector. But I am not sure how to figure out the day from a date picker.
    I appreciate if some one can give your thoughts on how to proceed. It seems to be simple but looks like a tricky one. I am not familiar with writing Java Script.
    Thanks ,
    Raj

    I was thinking your date selected from CALENDAR ended in a list_item.
    I don't know I thinking that
    well,
    :master_block.itemdate is your text_item where calendar return date selected.
    and then , following Gerd's step
    Create a WHEN-MOUSE-DOUBLECLICK on the date-item of CALENDAR and write :
    begin
    :master_block.itemdate := calendar (.........);
    go_block ('master-block');
    execute_query;
    end;
    or set a global or parameter variable date selected from calendar :parameter. xxxxxx
    in a PRE-QUERY
    :master_block.itemdate := :parameter. xxxxxx
    and
    Create a WHEN-MOUSE-DOUBLECLICK on the date-item of CALENDAR and write :
    begin
    :parameter. xxxxxx := calendar( ....);
    go_block ('master-block');
    execute_query;
    end;

  • No data selected in data source 2LIS_04_PECOMP

    Hi SAP BI Experts,
    We are facing issues while extracting data from infopackage u201CFULL /
    2LIS_04_PECOMP InfoCube 0PP_C08u201DData source u201C2LIS_04_PECOMPu201D.
    We have deleted the erroneous data from cube 0PP_C08 date range
    26.02.2009 to 2.03.2009. Now while extracting the data (Full load
    infopackage) from data source no record selected message displayed.
    In PSA no data selected. We have checked in RSA3 as well no data
    selected from 26.02.2009 to 03.03.2009.
    Please note that Delta Infopackage for same data source is working fine.
    Full Infopackage & RSA3 extracting data till Dec 2008 but 2009 no data available.
    Note : Action Taken
    DELTA is enabled on this data source, since the day we went LIVE. And because of the RECENT erroneous data deletion,
    We want to repair the data by running the FULL upload for the week.  But when we run the full repair upload info package,
    we get no result.   We tried running RSA3 for the same week, that also returned no records.
    RSA7 still shows the record ; since the DELTA is active. Hence the data is available in the queue.
    2.     Not sure of this but I tried to setup the statistical data using OLIFBW u2013 Reorg REP manufacturing ,  it gives the message,
    DataSource 2LIS_04_PECOMP contains data still to be transferred Message no. MCEX024.
    My log in NPRT does not show any records. I checked the setup table MC04P_0COMSETUP, there is no data.
    Kindly suggest the next step to get this data from 2LIS_04_PECOMP.
    Please help us on this.

  • Dsiplay data values and data lables in a stacked column chart

    Hi All
    Is there a way to display data values and data labels in a stacked column chart. Mouse over or display of labels in legends wont help. It has to be in the chart .
    Regards,
    anshul

    Hi Anshul,
    You can display either data value or data label in a stacked column chart by checking the Data Label Displaying Mode option under Format Chart->Data Values.
    You can also do the same by checking the same option under Format chart->Area Display->Data Values.
    I dont think you would be able to display both in a column chart whereas you would be able to do it in a pie chart.
    Hope this helps.

  • SQL DM - Data Transformation and Data Movement option ?

    SQL DM - Data Transformation and Data Movement option ?
    I am using SQL DM 3.0.0.665. I need your thoughts on following.
    We find that Erwin introduced Data Transformation and Data Movement functionality to support ETL need. We were able to generate ETL spec using this feature.
    Does SQL DM have any plan to introduce such features?
    How do we use the current SQL DM to build ETL spec ?
    Thanks in helping us out.

    Hello,
    I am currently experimenting with SQL Data Modeler to produce high level solution designs and ETL specifications.
    Have not completed what I am doing but so far have come up with the following:
    Current assumption I am working on:
    All objects specified within the SQL Data Modeler will export to the Reporting Schema tables set up in an Oracle database. Once the data is within these tables then it will be a simple task to develop a SQL report to extract the data in any format required.
    1) There is nothing in the physical (Relational) Model section that supports this
    - though I have yet to fully use the Dimensional Modelling functionality which may have the mapping functionality required to specify an ETL
    2) We need diagrams of the processes as well as the ETL mapping
    - Process modelling is available in the Logical
    - Reverse Engineer all Physical objects to become Logical object i.e. one Table to one Entity
    - For each Entity set up an Information Structure
    (Currently this can only be done in a convoluted method via creating a diagram, creating a Flow and editing the Flow then drilling down)
    MESSAGE to SQL Data Modeler Support: Can things be set up so that Information Structures can be set up directly from the Browser, current method is a bit nonsensical
    - You are now set up to use the Logical Process Modeling functionality to capture the ETL requirements
    - Advise that you reference the training to understand what primitive, composite and transformation processes objects are
    - Also, take the time to understand what an external agent object is
    - Will assume you know what a Data Store is
    Here is the standard I am heading towards that seems feasible, will need to run a proof of concept within the larger team to ensure it works though:
    - A Logical is kept that is a one for one with the Physical
    (The only reason for this is that there is no process modeling functionality for the Physical objects
    MESSAGE to SQL Data Modeler Support: Can you duplicate the Process Modeling for the Logical to be available for the Physical objects too, would be a great help to specify ETL jobs.
    - An External Agent is used to represent an external source e.g. Billing application
    - A primitive process is used to represent the high Level design
    - A composite process is used to specify processes which can be further broken down to ETL jobs
    - A transformation process is used to represent an ETL job
    Within a Transformation process you can specify the mapping from multiple sources to a target table
    There are some negatives to this approach:
    - You lose the physical schemas the tables are part of, though a naming convention will get round this
    - You need to maintain a logical that is one for one with the physical, this is not a big overhead
    However, as I have stated in my message to the SQL Data Modeler support team, would all be resolved if the Process Modeling functionality were also made available within the Physical objects environment.
    Please note that we have not as yet adopted the above approach and are still assessing is SQL Data Modeler will meet this requirement to our satisfaction. The critical bit will be if the data exports to the Reporting Schema, if it does then we have plenty of SQL resource that can produce the reports required procided the data can be captured.
    Hope that all helps.
    Also, hope I have not missed the point of your email.
    Kind regards,
    Yusef

  • Difference between Data Grid and Data Forms

    Hi all,
    What is the difference between data grid and data forms.

    Data entry forms are pre defined and are generally used to manually input data into reporting (financial statement) schedules.
    They can also be used for reviewing purposes and it gives users a presentable / and consistent format to view data in Hyperion.
    Data grids are the equivalent of pivot tables in excel. It should be used for ad hoc purposes to view / analyse data in whatever form you choose. The user has the flexibility to choose what they see in the rows, columns and page dimensions.
    One of the main differences between data entry forms and data grids is that you can’t export data grids to excel whereas you can with data entry forms. Other differences are:
    1. Run consolidation, translation, promotion from data grids but not in data entry forms.
    2. You can link other data entry forms to a data entry form
    3. Data entry forms offer greater formatting options than in data grids i.e. colours, fonts, bold, italics.
    At the end of the day, they are similar and there is no reason why you can’t have (use) both. It all depends on your local needs on how best you use both.
    I hope above information helps.

  • Differences between DATA TYPE and DATA OBJECTS

    I am new to ABAP,I want to know the differences between DATA TYPE and DATA OBJECTS with some examples.
    please help me regarding this.

    Hi Ashish,
    Data Types:       Are pure descriptions.
                   No memory is associated with data types.
                   Describes the technical properties of data objects.
    EX.
    1.     C-CHARACTER
    2.     D-DATE
    3.     F-FLOAT
    4.     I-INTEGER
    5.     N-NUMERIC TEXT
    6.     T-TIME
    7.     P-PACKED NUMBER
    8.     X-HEXADECIMAL
    9.     STRING-Variable length string.
    10.     XSTRING-Variable length byte string.
    Data Objects: Are created during runtime.
                    They cannot exist without the data Types.
                    Occupies memory space.
    EX:
    1.     INTERNAL DATA OBJECT- Internal Data objects
         LITEERAL- A literal has a fixed value.Ex: WRITE:u201DWORK HARDu201D.
         VARIABLES: Data statement is used to create variables.
    EX.DATA: NUM TYPE I.
    NUM: VARIABLE defined by data statement.
    EX: DATA: PRICE LIKE NUM.
         CONSTANT-It is a data object, which contains a constant value throughout the program.
    Can be declared in program by using CONSTANT statement.
    EX:CONSTANT: INT TYPE I VALUE 15.
    2.     EXTERNAL DATA OBJECT: Are defined in tables i.e In ABAP/4 dictionary you can access this data from table.
             EX: TABLES: SFLIGHT
              DATA: SEATS LIKE SFLIGHT-SEATSMAX.
    3.     SYSTEM DEFINED DATA OBJECTS:Space & system variables like SY-UNAME,SY-DATUM, SY-REPID.
    4.     SPECIAL DATA  OBJECTS:
         PARAMETERS: Are Variables ,which can accept value from user.
          SELECTION SCREEN : Are special internal tables to accept value ranges from user.
    3 APPROACHES TO DEFINE DATA OBJECTS.
    1.     ELEMENTARY TYPES
    DATA: Customer _Name (25) TYPE C,
                   Vendor_Name (25) TYPE C.
    2.     REFRENCE TO AN EXISTING FIELD:
    DATA: Customer _Name2 (25) TYPE C,
                  Vendor_Name2 (25) LIKE Customer_Name2
    3.     REFRENCE TO NON-ELEMENTARY TYPE:
    TYPES: T_NAME (25) TYPE C
    DATA: CUSTOMER_NAME TYPE T_NAME
                   VENDOR_NAME  TYPE T_NAME
    4.     RECORD-Information in rows & columns.
    DATA: BEGIN OF BOOKING,
                                    ID (4) TYPE C,
                                    FLIGHT_DATE TYPE D,
                                    NAME LIKE CUSTOMER_NAME,
                                    END OF BOOKING.

  • Data Integrator and Data Quality

    Hi,
    I worked on BI 7.0 and now exploring Business objects. I wanted to know how Data Integrator and Data Quality products relate to SAP BI 7. What is the purpose of using them. Is this integration and quality features not embedded in SAP BI 7.

    BI and Data Services share many integration features, but Data Service provides better connectivity to third party data sources.  The data quality features of Data Services are not available in BI.
