Date selection in query
Hi All,
I am getting error while executing one query in Bex.
the error message is SYST:Date 11.00.2008 not expected(after that I was thrown out of the system)
Date selection is handled by a variable on Fiscal Year / Period called Bespoke Fiscal Period . Not really sure how that variable works - and as far as I'm aware, selects the period by referencing the system date ie: if the system date is within January it will select December as the period (so the user always sees data for the previous completed month).
Made a couple of crude tests with pretty basic queries and I found that those using that variable fail, whereas typing in 012.2007, 001.2008 at run time will work. Any thoughts on why the variable stopped working ? Conflicts with the 2008 calendar maybe ?

Hi Supriya,
Logically thinking ur requirement is to select the previous month as per the current system date. For that they may be hard coded like taking the current month number and subtracting one from that value. I mean to say as the current month is 01 and might be hard code says 01 minus 1 which will result in 00. This might be the reason for this. Find out the code and check it . if it is so change the code.

Hi,
we have one calendar day depending on which the query result is displayed!
Now the requirement is such that when user enters one date the query has to generate the result for the multiple date ranges including the one which he has entered.
example: if user has entered 15/9/2007 then query should not only display the result of the date 15/9/2007 but also the results of -5 to +2 ( means 10/9,11/9,12/9,13/9 and 14/9 plus 16/9 and 17/9 )
simlarly other ranges like -8 to + 7 and so on
How to define this in query?

I need to make a graph conveying the information of the deliveries by comparing the goods issue date and promised date !
report also requires how many deliveries were on time, how many were late and how many were early!
for this requirement, i had thought of making a date selection field which is promised date and make furthur more date ranges selections by query it self so that late deliveries and early deliveries also covered in these date ranges.
-5 to + 2 is that one range which is on time delivery range
if the delivery is more eally than the -5 days then it is early delivery. even in ealry delivery i want to make how early it is.
and suppose the delivery has crossed the promised date 2 days more then it is late delivery.
all has to be acheived by single date selection and there after the logic which takes care of all the date ranges i had explained.
i am looking for that logic which i am not finding

Can we have a if condition during data selection in Query Report (SQ02)
Hi all,
I have a required where in need to create a query report , where in which there are two types of condition exists.
first i input either functional location into View V_EQUI , when there is a equipment BOM exists(or when there is any entry for Equipment feild exists ) then the selected euipment should be passed to EQST else if equipment doesnot exist then the Functional location should be passed to TPST.
Now that I created a query report with base table as V_EQUI and joined it with EQST and whenever the equipment feild has a entry , it passes the equipment to EQST and works fine.
Now for some Functional location there is no equipment feild that exists for these base table is V_EQUI now when there is no entry for equipment , the functional location should be passed to TPST.
Now I would I achieve that.
Can I put a if condition to check on if equipment is initial then select X Y Z from tpst where fl = v_equi-fl.

Date Data Selection in Query Builder using Hyperion JDBC Driver
Hi,
I am trying to filter out data prior to a specific request date on Query Builder. I have tried :
and SALES_ORDER_FACT.REQ_DT < sysdate()
I have also tried {$SYSDATE()-1$} , {$SYSDATE()$}, SYSDATE and SYSDATE()
Any assistance will be appreciated.Is this related to Oracle BI Publisher?
You should be able just to edit the query correctly in the text - you ddon't need to use the SQL query builder.
The query is passed through so in general you should use the syntax of HJyperion.
{} has a special (I think undocumented) meaning in BI Publisher so {} could potnetially cause problems.

I am trying to create a query that will show me the most recent cost estimate in BW infocubes 0COPC_C08 or 0COPC_C09, without making any changes to the standard functionality or available characteristics in these cubes. One of the cubes has available Calendar Day (0CALDAY) as a time characteristic, and the other has Fiscal Year (0FISCYEAR), Fiscal Year/Period (0FISCPER), and Posting Period (0FISCPER3).
Any of these would be fine to use, if I could tell it to pull the most recent cost estimate for each material. For example, material A was costed on 1/1/08, 4/1/08, and 5/1/08. Material B was costed on 1/1/08. If I run the query today, I want it to show me the most recent cost estimate for each material u2013 5/1/08 for material A, and 1/1/08 for material B.
Does anyone know if there is a way to limit the date selection in this manner?

Hi Muzammil,
In data range section you can have multiple options like setting start datetime and end datetime.. And you can set the shift (or) time period and also the format of the time periods.
Primarily we use the start date and end date querying to fetch data between two time labels. I can explain this one with example..
You have batch production table with columns Production Time, Batch Id, Production Qty. Then you want all the details between the 02/02/2007 to 05/02/2007.
Solution :
1.Map 02/02/2007 with Start date.
2.Map 05/02/2007 with end dare.
Now these two become the variables [SD] and [ED].
Now you have mentioned the date range, but you need to mention for which column these things to be applied. For that
3.In Query tab enter Production Time column name in Date column at the bottom.
Now you have written query like Select * from batch prodcution where production time > 02/02/2007 and production time < 05/02/2007.
4. Even those values you mapped (SD and ED) you can change from the front page through Java script.
Like wise you have so many other advantages also.

Error when selecting date range in query designer
hi all,
when iam trying to select date range in query designer like 01.04.2009 to 10.04.2009 it has to select only that dates where as it is selecting all the dates in between those like 010.04.2009,01.03.2009,01.02.2009.why this is happening ,iam unable to understand.plzz help me in this issue.

Dynamic selection of query in data-model
I have a report which has 3 disjoint queries in its data model. I have a lexical parameter (:p_where) for all the queries. In the afterform trigger, based on another parameter (:p_type) i am having the where clause built and assigned to the "where lexical parameter". In my layout, i have one repeating frame for each group(query) and displaying the appropriate frame based on the (:p_type).
What i have acheived here is, based on the :p_type, my where caluse is built and the appropriate frame is displayed. But one problem here is since i am using the same ":p_where" for all the 3 queries, all of them will be executed but since only one frame is visible at a time, user doesnt see the results of the other 2 query though it is executed and fetched.
Now my question is, is there a way to dynamically select the query to be executed in my datamodel. If so, i can avoid the execution of the all 3 queries always and the report will only execute the required one query based on the :p_type parameter.Hi,
It is better to use Additional layouts if you have disjointed queries which gets the same parameter. This way the user is able to see all the results at a time.

How to get resultset from procedure having dynamic select sql query ?

I have created a customer exit variable on key date of a query.
With this input variable i am first asking user to input one particular date say he enters 31.12.2010 then i am trying to add 1 more day to it and making it 01.01.2011.
I have put a break point in the code but it does not stop the processing there.. report executes directly taking the first user input.
I want to add 1 more day to the user entered date and this modifiied date should be the input date for key date field.
Below is my code.

Basically I_STEP = 1 is used for populating the default value which will be shown on selection screen and I_STEP = 2 is the step in which you does the processing on variable values which are entered on selection screen.
I am surprised that your internal table is empty, actually it is supposed to contain all the variable values which are entered in I_STEP = 1.
Can you try to add some more variables along with the current variable and check whether their value is coming in the internal table or not?
Finally what you can try is get the user input date in one variable and then create another customer exit variable in which you will calculate the new value and use this variable in Key date, the problem might be that we are trying to modify the same variable, actually it should not be the problem but I have no clue what is happening and you can just try this alternative.

"Source not found" Error creating URL Data control with query parameters
Hi,
I have a restful service for which i want to create a URL data control. I am able to create the URL data control successfully when i am not passing any parameters in the Source field. But if i am specifying the parameters in the source field like this Department=##ParamName##, something weird is happening. After giving the param string in the Source field, it asks for default param value to test the url. It tests the url successfully. After that i select XML as the data format in which i am mentioning the xsd like this . "file:///C:/..../something.xsd" . And this is when i am getting the error. "Invalid Connection. The source is not found". I am giving exactly same path for xsd which i gave while creating URL data control without query parameters. Infact i was able to create the URL data control with query parameters successfully till afternoon. after that it started giving me this error all of a sudden. Infact as soon as i was able to create a URL data contol with query parameter successfully, i took a backup of the application before moving further. But even that backup is not working now.
As far as i understand, i dont think there will be any change in xsd if query params are passed to a web service. Please correct me if i am wrong.
Just dont know what could be the issue. Please help

Problem with different resultset with same data and same query in Oracle 8.1.7 and 9i

I have been using this query in oracle 8.1.7

In the above query I want to see rows from MANAGER_AREA table depending upon date criteria in the table MANAGER_WORK and also upon the parameter :value i.e if I pass a value as 0 I get to see records for which their is atleast 1 record in MANAGER_WORK with the date criteria and if I pass -1 then I get all the records because minimum value that count(*) would give is 0. The resultset was as expected in 8.1.7.
A couple of days back I installed PERSONAL 9i to test for testing the basic functionality of our program with the same data. This query fails and irrespective whether I pass -1 or 0 it returns me same dataset which I would have got in case if I pass 0.
I do not know whether this is a bug that has got introduced in 9i. Can anybody help me with this problem. It would be difficult for me to change the parameter send to this query as the Query is called from many different places.

Amol.I cannot use a Group by and a having statement over here. The problem with 'Group by' and 'having' clause is If I have to make a join between the two tables. When I use join then I get only rows that are linked to each other in the table.
If I use outer join to solve that problem then I have to take in consideration the other date condition. My previous query use to virtually discard the corelated query result by using -1 as the value. This will not happen in the join query.

Select List (query based LOV) in a wizard created report form
I have created an updatable report form with 3 columns:
app_id
user_id
group_id
Each app_id has multiple group_id's associated with it, and I want to show the group_id field as a Select List (query based LOV) that contains the groups associated with the app_id.
My query for the select list needs to be similar to the following:
SELECT DISPLAY_NAME, GROUP_ID
FROM APPLICATION_GROUPS
WHERE APP_ID = ?????
ORDER BY 1
The problem is, I don't know how to reference the app_id from the main report to replace the ?????.
In other words, if my report returns 2 rows of data like this:
app_id----------user_id----------group_id
1-----------------24------------------3
2-----------------24------------------15
Then how do I get the group_id column to be a select list of possible groups for each application? If app_id 1 has 3 groups associated with it, 3, 4, & 5 and app_id 2 has 2 groups associated with it, 15 & 16, then those each of the select lists should be based on the app_id.

Thanks for the response, but I don't think you quite understand my problem. If I go to the Column Attributes screen for the group_id field, I have the "Display As" drop down set to "Select List (query based LOV)", not "Select List (named LOV)". This requires that the sql query be written in the "List of values definition" text area below. Within that text area I have the following query:
SELECT DISPLAY_NAME, GROUP_ID
FROM APPLICATION_GROUPS
WHERE APP_ID = ?????
ORDER BY 1
The APP_ID that I need to reference is for the current row of data that is being processed. Therefore, I can't use a :PNNN_APP_ID variable, because that field does not exist on the page.
