DateValidator, Configuration error: Incorrect formatting string

Hi guys,
I am struggling with a DateValidator issue, I hope someone can help me
Here is the parts of code needed to check what's wrong:
public const DATE_FORMAT:String = "DD/MMMM/YYYY";
<mx:DateFormatter id="dateFormatter" formatString="{DATE_FORMAT}" />
<mx:DateValidator
id="firstDateValidator" inputFormat="{DATE_FORMAT}" required="true"
source="{firstDate}" property="text" />
<mx:DateFiel id="firstDate" labelFunction="doLabel" />
private function doLabel(item:Date):String
     return dateFormatter.format(item);
I need to format and validate the following example: 13/January/2011
When I use DATE_FORMAT = "DD/MM/YYYY", I have no problem to format and validate the Datefield, I have 13/01/2011.
But when I use DATE_FORMAT = "DD/MMMM/YYYY", I have the following error message with the validator (the formatter is working well):
Configuration error: Incorrect formatting string.
Thank you very much for your help.

Standard Flex validator out of the box is very fragile when it comes to validate "non-standard" date formats. You should extend this DateValidator with your own version like I do, that re-implements "format" function call and rewrites private function "validateFormatString" from the the scratch.
Here is the my implementation of this function:
private static function validateFormatString(validator : DateRangeValidator,
                                                     separatorSign : String,
                                                     formatPartsArray : Array,
                                                     baseField : String) : ValidationResult {
            var formatPartsValidationObject : Object = {dayValid : false,
                monthValid : false,
                yearValid : false};
            var formatsLength : int = formatPartsArray.length;
            var mask:String;
            for (var i : int  = 0; i < formatsLength; i++) {
                mask = formatPartsArray[i];
                switch (mask) {
                    case "M" :
                    case "MM" :
                    case "MMM" :
                    case "MMMM" :
                        formatPartsValidationObject.monthValid = true;
                        break;
                    case "YY" :
                    case "YYYY" :
                        formatPartsValidationObject.yearValid = true;
                        break;
                    case "D" :
                    case "DD" :
                        formatPartsValidationObject.dayValid = true;
                        break;
            if (formatPartsValidationObject.monthValid &&
                formatPartsValidationObject.dayValid &&
                formatPartsValidationObject.yearValid) {
                return null; // Passes format validation
            } else {
                return new ValidationResult(
                    true, baseField, "format",
                    validator.formatError);
formatPartsArray is calculated as follows:
var formatPartsArray : Array = inputFormat.split("/");

  • I just installed LV2011 and one dll from my vi won't load with the error "application configuration is incorrect"

    I just installed LV2011 and one dll from my vi won't load with the error "application configuration is incorrect", which is Windows lingo for "missing package dependencies".  All the computers at my company with 2010 loaded seem to do OK.  When I do a Dependencies Walk I get missing Visual C debug dll's missing plus IEshims and wer which both have a whole tree of dependencies missing on my machine.  The Windows install is the same "Windows XP version 2002 Service Pack 3" on my PC and the working PC's. So I'm thinking I have to uninstall 2011 and go back to 2010.  Is this correct?  Those VC debug dll's were installed on the machines with 2010 in them but were not installed in mine.
    I've heard the advice to recompile the dll with debug turned off but I don't have access to the source code.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the reply.  This at least tells me that going back to LV2010 is not likely to solve the problem.  The missing dll's are:
    MFC90D.dll
    MSVCR90D.dll
    IESHMS.dll
    WER.dll
    And, once again, IESHMS and WER have other dependencies.  So perhaps i need to install the Visual C++ development environment.
    IESHIMS.dll is an Internet Explorer DLL that gets usually delay loaded by shdocvw.dll. As delay load it can not cause DLL load errors but only runtime errors. Maybe your DLL has it as direct dependency but that is unlikely since it does not have a documented interface.
    WER.dll is Windows error reporting for Vista/Win7.
    MFC90D.dll is the Microsoft Foundation classes and MSVCR90D.dll is the MS C runtime library, both as debug variant.
    So all the DLLs you mention are actually MS DLLs! You haven't identified the DLL that you try to access in LabVIEW that causes these error messages. IESHIMS and WER are usually delay loaded by any component that needs it and should not likely be used by non MS code.
    What is the DLL you try to load into LabVIEW and by whom? Get the provider of that DLL to provide you a non Debug build of the DLL. Installing Visual C on all the machines just to make the DLL load is not a solution, besides that it is likely not legal since I doubt you have that many licenses.

  • SQL Error: ORA-01861: literal does not match format string

    Hello,
    I'm trying to do data mining on a web log which recorded one day web access information from a busy web server. I imported the data into Oracle Data miner, and created a table (WEBLOG). The idea is to create a new field, i.e. session, for the users so that each session could be thought as a representative of a user-intent (aka topic). Now based on this, data mining models would be used to cluster(group) the users based on their similarity. The first step is to prepare the data which involves using SQL queries. So first, all I did was to create a function for date and time. This is the following code I used,
    create or replace function ssndate(p_date in varchar2 default '03-01-18',
    p_time in varchar2)
    return number
    $if dbms_db_version.ver_le_10 $then
    deterministic
    $elsif dbms_db_version.ver_le_11 $then
    result_cache
    $end
    as
    begin
    return trunc((to_date(p_date||' '||p_time, 'dd-mm-yy hh24:mi:ss')
    - to_date('01-01-90','dd-mm-yy')) * (86400/2400));
    end ssndate;
    The function ssndate compiled successfully.
    The next step I took was to create a view through the following query,
    create or replace view WEBLOG_VIEWS
    as
    select (select ssndate(LOG_DATE, LOG_TIME) from dual) as "SESSION_DT",
    C_IP,
    CS_USER_AGENT,
    (CS_URI_STEM||'?'||CS_URI_QUERY) as WEB_LINK
    from WEBLOG;
    This was successful as well. The problem is in the next step where I try to do data grouping.
    create table FINAL_WEBLOG as
    select SESSION_DT, C_IP, CS_USER_AGENT,
    listagg(WEB_LINK, ' ')
    within group(order by C_IP, CS_USER_AGENT) "WEB_LINKS"
    from WEBLOG_VIEWS
    group by C_IP, CS_USER_AGENT, SESSION_DT
    order by SESSION_DT
    For this, I got the error,
    Error starting at line 1 in command:
    create table FINAL_LOG as
    select SESSION_DT, C_IP, CS_USER_AGENT,
    listagg(WEB_LINK, ' ')
    within group(order by C_IP, CS_USER_AGENT) "WEB_LINKS"
    from WEBLOG_VIEWS
    group by C_IP, CS_USER_AGENT, SESSION_DT
    order by SESSION_DT

    01861. 00000 - "literal does not match format string"
    *Cause:    Literals in the input must be the same length as literals in
    the format string (with the exception of leading whitespace).
    If the "FX" modifier has been toggled on, the literal must
    match exactly, with no extra whitespace.
    *Action:   Correct the format string to match the literal.
    I don't know where I'm going wrong with this.. the to_date function should be fine. In the data that I possess, the date and time are in no format. Example: 30118 and 0:00:09 respectively. If anyone has any clue about this I would be sincerely grateful for any help that I can get!! It's quite urgent..
    The Oracle version is 11.2.0.1.0

    Ok.. Looks like I touched a nerve there. I apologize. I'm still a student, and this is the first time that I've tried something at this level. I'm still in the learning process, so I was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction in order to "fix" the data.Not so much touching a nerve as simply trying to implement a very very poor, but all too common, practice. Since you are a student (which we didn't know until this post) most people will cut you some slack. However, this little exchange should now be burned into your brain as you move forward. One of the very first rules of programming is to ALWAYS use the correct data types for your data. And along with that, never ever depend on implicit type conversions - always use the proper explicit conversion functions.
    And as a slight follow-on, when considering the appropriate data type, don't assume that just because we refer to a given element as a 'something number' that it is indeed a number. Telephone "numbers" are NOT numbers. U.S. Social Security "numbers" are NOT numbers. U.S. Postal Zip codes are NOT numbers. All are just character strings which, by convention, we limit to the same characters we use to represent numbers.
    And since this entire discussion came up around the representation of dates, you might want to take a look at http://edstevensdba.wordpress.com/2011/04/07/nls_date_format/
    Now, go forth and be a smarter programmer than your peers.

  • The report server has encountered a configuration error. Logon failed for the unattended execution account. (rsServerConfigurationError) Log on failed. Ensure the user name and password are correct. (rsLogonFailed) The user name or password is incorrect

    I am able to run the report fine in BIDS in the preview window, and it deployes fine.  When it goes to view the report in the browser, I get the following error.  There is no domain, I am using a standalone computer with SQL Server and SSRS on
    this one machine.
    Can anyone point to where I might configure the permission it is looking for?  thanks!  Steven

    Steven DeSalvo

    Hi StevenDE2012,
    Based on the error message "The report server has encountered a configuration error. Logon failed for the unattended execution account. (rsServerConfigurationError)", it seems that the Unattended Execution Account settings in Reporting Services
    Configuration is not correct.
    Reporting Services provides a special account that is used for unattended report processing and for sending connection requests across the network. Unattended report processing refers to any report execution process that is triggered by an event rather than
    a user request. The report server uses the unattended report processing account to log on to the computer that hosts the external data source. This account is necessary because the credentials of the Report Server service account are never used to connect
    to other computers. To configure the account, please refer to the following steps:
    Start the Reporting Services Configuration tool and connect to the report server instance you want to configure.
    On the Execution Account page, select Specify an execution account.
    Type the account and password, retype the password, and then click Apply.
    In addition, please verify you have access to the Report Server database by following steps:
    Go to SQL Server Reporting Services Configuration Manager, make sure the configuration is correct.
    Go to Database, Verify that you can connect to the database.
    Make sure you are granted public and RSExecRole roles.
    Reference:
    Configure the Unattended Execution Account
    Configure a Report Server Database Connection
    If the problem is unresolved, i would appreciate it if you could give us detailed error log, it will help us move more quickly toward a solution.

  • Netsh export error "An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format"

    Got an error("An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format") when trying to export from DHCP running in Enterprise Server 2008 R2.
    Here is the command line: netsh dhcp server export c:\dhcp.txt all
    This server had been migrated years ago(Server 2003 to Server 2008) and old DHCP server was decommissioned already. I know this error has a fix for Windows Server 2003 using hotfix from Microsoft but I was not able to find any hotfix from Windows Server
    2008. Need your help guys as I'm seeing "X" on leases from DHCP and I need to resolve it! :(

    Hi,
    As a workaround, we may try to use netsh DHCP server dump >c:\DHCPdump.txt.

    It is flexfield segment so it can contain anything. For my query it is returning date.....Oh dear. Two really bad design decisions in one, there - storing dates as varchar2 and storing more than one type of data in one column. I suggest you read this: http://www.simple-talk.com/opinion/opinion-pieces/bad-carma/ in order to see just why that might be a bad design.
    If you have any influence at all over the way your tables/app is designed, then I would highly recommend changing the design, as it will save you countless headaches like the one you've currently got.
    If you are absolutely stuck with that design, then a) poor you and b) you'll have to add in some filters onto your queryto make sure you're only selecting rows with dates in that column.

  • Error: Literal does not match format string

    Can anyone help me with the query below. I am trying to insert CMPGN_ID, PGM_KEY, CMPGN_BEGIN_DT into TEMP.

    CMPGN_BEGIN_DT has a data type of DATE.
    INSERT INTO TEMP (CMPGN_ID, PGM_KEY, CMPGN_BEGIN_DT)

    (SELECT PGM_KEY FROM PROGRAM WHERE PGM_NAME = 'NCR'),

    Thanks

    INSERT INTO TEMP (CMPGN_ID, PGM_KEY, CMPGN_BEGIN_DT)
    SELECT 'NCR_'|| to_char(add_months(SYSDATE,-1),'YYYYMM'),
         PGM_KEY,

    FROM PROGRAM
    WHERE PGM_NAME = 'NCR';Datatypes are unclear, may need datatype casting with date column, but otherwise the above should work.
