DB adapter with different  db instance

Hi,
I need to configure different db instance into the same data base adapter.
I've one instance for publisher schema and another one for subscriber schema .
In the adapter.ini there are parameters only for OAI (publisher schema)
db_bridge_schema1_host=vvvvv
db_bridge_schema1_port=1521
db_bridge_schema1_instance=ora92
It's possible set a db_bridge_schema_instance for the spoke writer (subscriber schema)?
Thanks.
Regards.

Hi,
I don't think you could configured single DB adaptert for wo schemas .
But you can always copy the main adapter and rename it(have two seperate adapters), one adapter for subscriber event and another for the Publisher event.

Larry

I have an iPod mini, 6 GB and want to use it with a Sony CD Boombox but the adapter is different. Can it still work? Don't want to try and break iPod.

Do you mean that the iPod mini won't fit on the "dock" because of shape (of the iPod), or is the docking connection a different type from the "30-pin" dock connector on the iPod mini?

  • Using file receiver adapter with a different user

    Hello.
I have a simple question (at least I think it is)
Can I use a file receiver adapter (where the transport protocol is NFS - not FTP)
so that a different user will access the directory (not the usual SAPServiceSID)?
I don't see any place for using username and password, and using the FTP protocol is not possible
    because of security reasons.
    Any help Appreciated.

    Hello.
    Thanks for the quick answers.
I'm sorry for not being clear enough before.
I have a microsoft network share on a different server then the PI.
    When I use the path:
    server\share
I manage to successfully put a file via the file receiver adapter, with NFS as the transport protocol.
However in order to do this, the owner of the share had to give credentials to the user: SAPServiceSID of my PI system
which is an active directory user.
The owner wants me to use a local user instead.
Can this be done with a local user?

  • JMS Sender Adapter EOIO with different messages in Queue to RFC

    Dear Colleague,
In one of my scenarios i am using JMS Sender Adapter and Websphere MQ series.
In my MQ Series Queue i get different Messages with Different Structures.
for e.g in my MQ Series Queue Q1 i have M1, M2, M3 coming in Order.
Now i need to doa  Mapping of M1 to a Standard BAPI  B1 call through RFC at the reciever side.
Now i need to doa  Mapping of M2 to a Standard BAPI B2 call through RFC at the reciever side.
Now i need to doa  Mapping of M3 to a Standard BAPI B3 call through RFC at the reciever side.
We are aware that on Receiver side we can have multiple Recievr Determinations.so i can send it to 3 different BAPIs.
    Question:
But how do i split the Messges which are coming out of MQ series Q from JMS to 3 different Mapping Structures as we knwo that we do not 'Multiple Sender Interface Determinations' from Determined based on the Message which is coming in.
Hope i have been clear in making myself understand about the problem given above.
I have alos given below the same in a bit Graphical Form.
    MQ Series --> M3, M2, M1(Messages) --> JMS Adapte(EOIO) --> M1(Message) -> RFC -> B1(Bapi)
                                                             --> JMS Adapte(EOIO) --> M2(Message) -> RFC -> B2(Bapi)
                                                             --> JMS Adapte(EOIO) --> M3(Message) -> RFC -> B3(Bapi)
Is it possible to achieve the above result. Answers fo the solution are most welcome. These can be also from the new Netweaver Release Versions. If we have the solution to these in New version we will implment the New Netweaver Releases.
    Thanks & Warm Regards
    Venugopal

    Dear Kai,
if i have 3 MQ series Queues then how are we going to maintain the flow of the Messages in the same order in which has come into MQ series queues.
this mesans to say that all the Message come in Parallel out from JMS or MQ side and will be mapped onto Reciever side.
But in my case i wil need to have M1 first M2 second and M3 third.
This means to say that M1 recived and acknowledged then M2 should come and acknowledged and then M3 should be acknowledged.
How this will be possible with your solution of making 3 MQ series Queues.
    Please do let me know.
    Thanks

  • Unable to copy database with different name in the same instance

I had a huge database and wanted to try some change optimization changes.
So wanted to make a copy of the database along with data in the same instance.
I have tried copy database wizard several times but always see the error as in attachment.
Can someone let me know how to troubleshoot further?
If this is not the correct way please suggest how do i copy a database with different name in the same instance along with data.

    Hi Nandu,
From the screenshot, the error 1813 happens when corrupt database log is attempted to attach to the SQL Server. To work around this issue, please preform the following steps, for more details, please review this
    blog.
    1. Create a new database with same name which you want to recover. Make sure that the MDF file and LDF file have same name with previous database data and log file.
    2. Stop SQL Server. Move original MDF file from old location to new location by replacing just created MDF file. Delete the LDF file of new location just created.
    3. Start SQL Server. At this point, the database is in suspect status.
    4. Make sure that system tables of Master database allows to update the values. Please note that you will be performing this in query window.
    Use Master
    go
    sp_configure 'allow updates',1
    reconfigure with override
    go
    5. Change database mode to emergency mode.
    SELECT *
    FROM sysdatabases
    WHERE name = 'DatabaseName'
    BEGIN
    UPDATE sysdatabases
    SET status = 32768
    WHERE name = ' DatabaseName '
    COMMIT TRAN
    6. Restart SQL Server. Then execute the following DBCC command in query window to create new log file.
    DBCC TRACEON (3604)
    DBCC REBUILD_LOG(databasename,'c:\yourdatabasename_log.ldf')
    GO
    7. Reset the database status using following command.
    sp_RESETSTATUS yourdatabasename
    GO
    8. Turn off the update to system tables of Master database running following script.
    USE MASTER
    GO
    sp_CONFIGURE 'allow updates',0
    RECONFIGURE WITH OVERRIDE
    GO
    9. Reset the database status to previous status.
    BEGIN
    UPDATE sysdatabases
SET status = (value retrieved in first query of step 5)
    WHERE name = 'DatabaseName‘
    COMMIT TRAN
    GO
Make sure that you have done all the steps in order and restarted SQL Server where it is mentioned. Also run SQL Server Management Studio as administrator.(Right click-> Run as Administrator)

  • Csv input adapter - read rows with different # of columns

I have a csv file which includes rows with different number of columns. I want to read all the rows( of different # of cols)  into ONE stream only and then split into separate streams afterwards.
I saw that CSV File Input Adapter does not add missing columns with nulls by default. Is it possible somehow? How can I generate a workaround?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
The CSV Input Adapter expects to find a fixed number of fields.  If you attach the input adapter to a stream/window with 3 fields, it will always try to read three fields.  You can have missing data and this will be read into a column as a NULL value but the delimiters must still be there.  For example:
    1,1,1
    2,2,2
    3,3,3
    4,,4
    5,5,5
    CREATE INPUT WINDOW inWindow SCHEMA (c1 integer, c2 integer, c3 integer) PRIMARY KEY (c1);
ATTACH INPUT ADAPTER File_Hadoop_CSV_Input2 TYPE toolkit_file_csv_input TO inWindow PROPERTIES csvExpectStreamNameOpcode = FALSE ,
      dir = 'c:/temp' ,
      file = 'test.csv' ,
      csvDelimiter = ',' ;
A workaround you might consider is reading an entire line from your file into a stream with a single string column.  The trick is that you have to choose a character for the column delimiter that you are certain will never show up in your data.  Than once you have read that line into a stream, you can use the string functions to parse out the columns as needed:
CREATE INPUT STREAM csv_instream SCHEMA (
      log_line_message string
// Choose a character that is certain to never show up in the data in order to read the entire line
// from the CSV file into a single column
ATTACH INPUT ADAPTER File_Hadoop_CSV_Input1 TYPE toolkit_file_csv_input TO csv_instream PROPERTIES
      csvExpectStreamNameOpcode = FALSE ,
      dir = 'C:/temp' ,
      file = 'error_log' ,
      csvDelimiter = '@' ;
// Parse out the individual columns
CREATE OUTPUT STREAM csv_outstream SCHEMA (
      log_datetime timestamp ,
      debug_level string ,
      host string ,
      message string ) AS SELECT
      to_timestamp(substr(CI.log_line_message, 1, 24), 'DY MON DD HH24:MI:SS YYYY') as log_datetime,
      substr(CI.log_line_message, patindex(CI.log_line_message, '[', 2)+1, (patindex(CI.log_line_message, ']', 2) - patindex(CI.log_line_message, '[', 2))-1) AS debug_level,
      replace(substr(CI.log_line_message, patindex(CI.log_line_message, '[', 3)+1, (patindex(CI.log_line_message, ']', 3) - patindex(CI.log_line_message, '[', 3))-1), 'client ', '') AS host,
      substr(CI.log_line_message, patindex(CI.log_line_message, ']', 3)+1, 500) AS message
      FROM csv_instream CI
      WHERE CI.log_line_message IS NOT NULL;
    Thanks,

  • Multiple oracle database instances with different characterset on  the same server

    Hello,
Is it possible to have 2 database instances running with different charactersets, one with AL32UTF8 and the other with WE8MSWIN1252.?
Are there any setup requirements to be performed prior to setting up the database instances?
The 3rd party utility that we want to use does not support AL32UTF8 and insists on using a database with character set WE8MSWIN1252.
    Kindly help.
    Thanks,
    Ram.

    Hello Zhe,
I guess I posted my question in a wrong forum.  I tried my best to find a suitable forum and thought this was the best and closest I found.  Apparently not.  Can you please let me know the right forum for my question?
The below is the breif of what we are currently facing:
We are in the process of finalizing plans to install Automic for our Retail applications to schedule jobs.  In the process came to know that Automic does not support AL32UTF8.
Right now we have RMS and UC4 (now called Automic) run on the database server as UC4 supports AL32UTF8 and schema for UC4 is inside the RMS database.
Going forward it is recommended to have a separate database instance on the same server as that of RMS database and with a different characterset which is WE8MSWIN1252.
Please let me know what forum to post in, I will repost the question.
    Thanks,
    Ram.

  • Testing g4 powerbook barrel style ac adapter with multi-meter

I have an old G4 powerbook with a dead battery but it doesn't have an ac adapter.
I bought a cheap replacement one on Amazon. When I plugged it into the G4 nothing happens. It doesn't charge the battery and I can't power on the powerbook.
I wanted to make sure that the adapter I bought was providing the 24v that it should.
The problem is I can't figure out how to test it. It has the barrel style connector with the outside sleeve and a pin on the inside that looks like a male headphone jack.
Does anyone know what is the positive and what is the negative?
I tried testing with the probes on the outside sleeve and the tip of the pin but I get no reading. The pin in the center looks like it's a tip, ring, sleeve type of connector. I tried to test the tip and the ring but also got no reading. If I bridge the ring and the sleeve (that's the sleeve of the tip, ring, sleeve center pin, not the outside sleeve) there is a spark.
I've never seen a power adapter with this type of connector before. I'd like to find out if it is working or if I should return it. If it doesn't work then there may still be a chance that the powerbook is salvageable with a good adapter.
    Thanks.

There were several adapters made for the PowerBook G4 and iBook G3/G4 series
and they varied in power output per the devices they were intended to function with.
You could use a higher power output (a 65W for a 45W replacement) though, and
those cheaper clones that have no illuminated DC-out plug provide adequate power.
OWC macsales & others offer generic replacement that did not look like the original.
(Also, they usually have exact replacements for the newer magsafe design, only.)
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Newer+Technology/APLPBI65W/  - 65W output
For the correct utilitarian purpose, the larger display model computer would need
to have the higher output AC Adapter, so it can power the Mac & charge it too.
An internal optical drive and other items, in addition to a 14" display, use more.

    http://pinoutsguide.com/Power/apple_tibookpower_pinout.shtml
    http://repair4laptop.org/wiki/Mac_iBook_G4_Power_Adapter_DC_Plug_Repair_Howto_Gu ide
You may note from reading these pages where someone took apart the power
supply DC-Out end to replace the jack, there is something odd about it. The
larger outer metal part is more of a guide to keep the item in the socket, to
illuminate the plug, and protect the small actual power contacts inside... A
third-party AC adapter without illuminated plug has one less active contact.
    {And may not need as complex a chip inside the plug, either.}
How to repair (& understand how it works) a portable Mac G4 power cord:
    http://www.instructables.com/id/EYVY1AXU2FEQZJIQHC/
A good multi-meter can tell you if you have Negative or Positive (reversed
power leads to meter) so that in itself should not be a problem...
In the pictured images within the linked sites, see how in concept of using a
replacement 2.5mm jack instead of failed OEM AC Adapter plug; the small
metal pin carries main current, not necessarily the outer barrel. So any voltage
(negative or positive) of the rated output that registers on a good multimeter
should be a clue, if anything is getting past a micro-chipped DC-out end...
In the original Apple AC adapter for PowerBook/iBook G4 this is so, not so
certain that any generic one not looking like the original would have this chip.
But the plug connectors you see, inside the barrel, would be the same power.
And the DC-in board is a minor chore into itself, a guide at iFixit.com shows methods
based on which PowerPC PowerBook model you have (iBook is also troublesome)
    https://www.ifixit.com/Device/PowerBook_G4_Aluminum_Series
So, it looks like the two main connections are further down the center plug-pin
and the outer barrel is not a connection, so much, as it is a guide or protector.
Usually the three things that can be in need of replacement in the PPC portable
as well as the newer intel-based portable, are the DC-in board (magsafe board)
the battery, and the power adapter. To have known-good items including another
similar model Mac portable, on hand, helps immensely to troubleshoot these.
Not sure if what appears here will help all that much; the power adapter would
work on any 24v PowerPC iBook (dual-usb white) or PowerBook G4, so that
may be something if you know someone who has a working model of either.
Some of the older site URLs for information no longer work, so I looked online
in hopes of finding similar; but to no avail. So this is a patchwork from that effort.
One of the diagrams of how someone repaired the original dc- out plug by
replacement with a 2.5mm stereo jack, may yield which one(s) have power
and what amount. A generic without an illuminated plug, should be easier.
    In any event...
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Install many executable on the same PC with different names

    Hello,
I'm trying to install several executables with different names in the same computer but at the end of install process the message is : "an higher  or existing version is already installed in this computer"
I create the Executable and Setup with LabVIEW Application Builder and install the executable in the same Program Files root directory with a different sub-directory for each executable as this : Program Files-->MyProject-->SubProjet1 with exe1/SubProject2 with exe2 etc...
My OS is WinXP pro SP2 and I work with LabVIEW 8.5.
    Thanks and regards,
    Armindo PINTO

    Hi Armindo,
Thank you for using the NI forums!
From what I understand, you are trying to create multiple executables of a vi project to co-exist on the same PC. Any time you re-use the LabView 8.x project file, it will generate
install package with the same product ID number. That means, if the
deployed PC has the previous version installed, which had been
generated from the same project file, the new install package will
remove the previous version and overwrite it with the new version. Or as in your case, not allow you to install lower versions of the executable. That
means, the previous version will be no longer available on the deployed
PC. If you are creating an upgraded version to the product this is
    fine.
However, if you need to re-use the LabView 8.x project
file and generate a new product, which can potentially co-exist with
the previous on the end user PC, you need to generate a new installer
with a different product ID number. One of the way to do it:
    Copy existing project file (e.g. "name1.lvproj") under a different name (e.g. "name2.lvproj")
Open the new instance of the project
     Expand the "Build Specifications"
Right click on the installer specification, e.g. "name1 Installer"
    Select "Duplicate" from the menu
You can now delete the instance "name1 Installer" and rename the "Copy of name1 Installer" to a suitable name, e.g. "name2 Installer"
Make changes that are needed between the two versions, for example:
    Select a new source VI
    Build a new exe file
Reflect the new exe file in the "name2 Installer"
    Make
any other changes needed in "name2 Installer", for example different
documentation files included in install, change in the target install
directories, changes in the start menu shortcuts. etc.
    Build the install.
Please let me know if this solves the issue, and let me know how you get on.

  • Two adf components sharing same VO with different params on same screen

    Hello everybody,
My current problem is that I need to create a screen with multiple graphs sharing the same VO but with different parameters for each one.
Lets suppose that I want to use EmployeesVO to show 2 graphs on the same jspx page.
One graph will show all employee salaries for department "Marketing" and another will show all employee salaries for department "IT".
Remember that I want both on the same screen.
The read-only VO will look like this:
    SELECT First_Name
    , Salary
    FROM employees
    WHERE department_id = :p_dept
To do this I did the following:
For each graph I created one Iterator.
For each Iterator I created one ExecuteWithParams. (one receiving "Marketing Depto" and anther receiving "IT Depto")
For each ExecuteWithParams I created one InvokeAction .
While running the application all graphs show the same information. All of them show only one department (the last InvokeAction in the Executables List).
The question is: How to keep each graph with their own parameter on the same screen?
    I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.2.1 on Windows 7 x64 SP1.
    Thanks in advance!

Why dont you add 2 instances of the same Vo in the AM. For each instance set the different VC.

  • How to specify custom SQL in polling db adapter with logical delete option

    Hi all,
I am writing a SOA composite app using JDeveloper SOA Suite 11.1.1.4 connecting to a SQL Server db using a polling DB Adapter with the logical delete option to send data to a BPEL process.
I have requirements which go beyond what is supported in the JDeveloper UI for DB Adapter polling options, namely:
    * update more than one column to mark each row read, and
    * specify different SQL for the logical delete operation based on whether bpel processing of the data polled was successful or not.
A complicating factor is that the polling involves two tables. Here is my full use-case:
    1) Polling will select data derived from two tables: e.g. 'headers' and 'details' simplified for this example:
    table: headers
    hid - primary key
    name - data label
status - 'unprocessed', 'processed', or 'error'
processedDate - null when data is loaded, set to current datetime when row is processed
    table: details
hid - foreign key pointed at header.hid
    attr - data attribute name
value - value of data attribute
    2) There is a many:1 relationship between detail and header rows through the hid columns. The db adapter polling SELECT shall return results from an outer join consisting of one header row and the associated detail rows where header.status = 'unprocessed' and header.hid = details.hid. (This is supported by the Jdeveloper UI)
    3) The polled data will be sent to be processed by a bpel process:
3.1) If the bpel processing succeeds, the logical delete (UPDATE) operation shall set header.status = 'processed', and header.processedDate = 'getdate()'.
3.2) If bpel processing fails (e.g. hits a data error while processing the selected data) the logical delete (UPDATE) operation shall set header.status = 'failed', header.processedDate = 'getdate()', and header.errorMsg = '{some text returned from bpel}'.
Several parts of #3 are not supported by the JDeveloper UI: updating multiple columns to mark the row processed, using getdate() to populate a value of one of those column updates, doing different update operations based on the results of the BPEL processing of the data (success or error), and using data obtained from BPEL processing as a value of those column updates (error message).
I have found examples which describe specifying custom SQL using the polling delete option to create a template then modifying the toplink file(s) to specify custom select and update SQL to implement a logical delete. (e.g. http://dlimiter.wordpress.com/2009/11/05/advanced-logic-in-oracle-bpel-polling-database-adapter/ and http://myexperienceswithsoa.blogspot.com/2010/06/db-adapter-polling-tricks.html). But none of them match what I've got in my project, in the first case because maybe because I'm using a higher version of JDeveloper, and in the second I think because in my case two tables are involved.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, John

    Hi John,
    You've raised a good scenario.
First of all let me say that the purpose of the DB polling transaction, is to have an option to initiate a process from a DB table/view and not to update multiple fields in a table (or have other complex manipulation on the table).
So, when choose to update a field in a record, after reading it, you are "telling" the engine not to poll this record again. Sure, i guess you can find a solution/workaround for it, but I don't think this is the way....
The question now is what to do?
You can have another DB adapter where you can update the data after finishing the process. In that case, after reading the data (on polling transaction) - update the header.status = 'processed' for example, and after processing the selected data update the rest of the fields.
Hope it make some sense to you.

It just forks a process or a thread, and that's it.And the listener is a single point of failure. Listener goes down, you can't connect to the db. That's why you need two listeners. If listener one goes down, then listener two goes down for exact same reason since it is a single executable file.I'm not playing tit-for-tat with you. Fact is, there are situations where people who are not you might want to use more than one listener. Some folks might want to jab a sharp pencil into their eye, too.
Just because you can do something, it does not necessarily mean it should be done.

and I run Firefox with the following command (Properties/Target)
    "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Nightly\firefox.exe" -P "David-Nightly"
    "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Nightly\firefox.exe" -P "David-Aurora"
    "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Nightly\firefox.exe" -P "David-Beta"
    "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Nightly\firefox.exe" -P "David-Release Candidate"
Can anyone help me so that I can Sync all the accounts (basically, just the bookmarks), so I will have access to all my bookmarks, instead of going to the firefox version I saved it in? I would appreciate any and all assistance concerning this matter.
    Thank You.

Use the -no-remote command line switch to open another Firefox instance with its own profile and to run different Firefox instances simultaneously, but do not use -no-remote with the default browser and the default profile.

Enter all details like the account name (email address) and password and the 26-character Sync key manually to connect to an existing sync account instead of using the 12-character code to pair a device if pairing isn't possible.
    # open "Tools > Options > Sync" or "Firefox > Set Up Sync"
    # click "Set Up Firefox Sync" to go to "Firefox Sync Setup"
    # click "I Have an Account" : Connect
    # click "I don't have the device with me" at the bottom to enter the account settings (email, password, sync key)
    # click the "Sync Options" button at the bottom to select what to sync (Sync Options only affect the first sync)

  • Cant do a file get from external server using file sender adapter with ftp

    Hi all,
Up until now our company has only used the file sender adapter with ftp protocol to get a file from our XI server for processing and input the file into an integration process
I have a requirement to do an ftp file get from an external server
From our XI development server I can ftp directly to the external server and view the required directory using the command window via a DOS prompt (FTP open ...).  So all firewall issues and communications are fine
Unfortunately I cannot currently pull files from the external server using the XI file adapter with ftp protocol from the XI development server AWB017
FTP Connection Parameters: External server name using port 21, Data Connection is Passive, No security, I supply a userid and password
Processing Parameters: Processing Mode is Archive (I tried test but this did not work either)
No messages appear in the RWB
Is there something else that I need to set up in order for the external ftp get to work via the XI file adapter?
    Regards,
    Mike

    Thanks for your responses.
I have found the error messages in the File Adapter Monitor
    Scenario 1
When I prefix the source directory with a forward slash, eg <b>/Folder/Subfolder</b> the error message is as follows
<b>EST: Error: Error connecting to ftp server 'ip address': FTPEx: /Folder/Subfolder: The system cannot find the path specified</b>
    Scenario 2
When I DO NOT prefix the source directory with a forward slash, eg <b>Folder/Subfolder</b> a different error message is returned
<b>Error: Retrieving file 'FILENAME.XML' failed unexpectedly: FTPEx: Folder/Subfolder: The system cannot find the path specified</b>
At least in this scenario the adapter has been able to identify the file on the external FTP site but cannot retrieve it
    Questions
I thought that the backslash prefix for the source directory was mandatory but I am receiving an error in each scenario
I receive the same error message whether the Processing Mode is 'Archive' or 'Test'
The logs on the external ftp server seem to indicate that I am simply connecting, sending username and password then quiting straight away. I am not issuing any commands that they can see
I thought that being a Sender adapter it would inherently execute a Pull or Get command
To recap, from our XI development server I can ftp directly to the external server and view the required directory using the command window via a DOS prompt (FTP open ...). So all firewall issues, communications, userid and password are fine
    Has anyone experienced these issues?
Please advise on next course of action?
    Regards,
    Mike
