Hi,
During the PREPARE phase normally it creates a script which you can run for the creation of these Tablespaces,this script can be found in the Upgrade directory(eg:/usr/sap/put/log/DB6TBSXT.CLP - this script will have the command to create the tablespaces).Just run this script,it will create all the tablespaces based on the requirement.
Regards,
Sam

  • Command for Creating LDT

    Hi All,
    We have a requirement to create a new document category for a attachment. For this we have created a new function from "ARXTWMAI" form. Then we created a new document function with this function from Attachment-> Document attachment
    After creating this custom function i have attached it to our custom created document category from Attachment->documet categories.
    We want to migrate this to our another instance. Is this possible that we can download ldt for this so that we can simply migrate this setup to another instance without doing any setup over there,
    Thanks in advance
    Aryan

    Hi Aryan,
    You can use the FNDLOAD command to download the form in desired ltd format,
    FNDLOAD apps/<apps_password> O Y DOWNLOAD $FND_TOP/patch/115/import/affrmcus.lct <file_name>.ldt FND_FORM_CUSTOM_RULES FORM_NAME=<form_name>Thanks,
    Anchorage :)

  • Create tablespace in Oracle 11g

    Windows 2008 R2 (64-bit OS)
    Oracle 11g R2 Standard Edition ONE(64-bit database)
    I use the following Oracle command to create tablespace in 11g.
    CREATE TABLESPACE TEST_TBS
    DATAFILE
    'C:\ORACLE\ORADATA\TEST_TBS01.DBF' SIZE 5M
    AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 5M
    MAXSIZE 50000M;
    - The above command works fine.
    Is there any better commands i need to be using in creating a tablespace w.r.t. performance and management.

    it is recommended to have small sized blocks for OLTP, and big sized for DSS. The reasons:
    You can try different block sizes in tablespaces...
    On OLTP, a smaller block size reduces contention:
    1. Reduces the possibility of concurrent transaction and locks on the same block.
    2. Provides a better locking mechanism
    3. Less transacction locks possibilities at the block header.
    DSS benefit from big blocks mainly because of IO:
    1. Retrieves in less IO operations more data, which is critical for FTS and index scans.
    2. A higher row density means less IO
    3. Indexes retrieve information on a block per block basis, with big blocks indexes are retrieved with less IO
    4. Reduces the chances of chained rows.
    Check the following link for examples and details information.If johnpau needs a 50G file he has no choice: 16K blocks is the only option.
    But that advice about different blocksizes is very twentieth century. Nowadays, it doesn't matter.

  • CREATE TABLESPACE PROBLEM

    I'm unable to get sqlplus to recognize predefined Windows environment variables. For example:
    CREATE TABLESPACE PRODUCT DATAFILE '%ORACLE_DIR%\oradata\xxx\PRODUCT.DAT' SIZE 1M AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 1M;
    %ORACLE_DIR% = C:\bas\db\oracle
    After trying to execute this statement the following error gets returned:
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-01119: error in creating database file
    'BAS_ORACLE_HOME\oradata\bas\PRODUCT.DAT'
    ORA-27040: skgfrcre: create error, unable to create file
    OSD-04002: unable to open file
    O/S-Error: (OS 3) The system cannot find the path specified.
    However, when I enter the command as:
    CREATE TABLESPACE PRODUCT DATAFILE 'C:\bas\db\oracle\oradata\xxx\PRODUCT.DAT' SIZE 1M AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 1M;
    The tablespace gets completed successfully.
    Therefore, how do I get the CREATE TABLESPACE statement to recognize ORACLE_DIR?
    Thank you in advance for your help!

    I sometimes pass in filenames as parameters to SQL*Plus
    and then use the argument substitution variables.
    For example:
    sqlplus system/manager @myscript.sql c:\mydir\myfile
    Where myscript.sql contains
    create .... datafile '&1' ...
    Another common solution is to construct the script
    in a shell environment that does the the OS variable
    expansion before the script is passed to SQL*Plus.
    Typically this is with a "here document". In Perl
    it would be something like:
    sqlplus -s <<EOF;
    system/manager
    create ... datafile $ENV{'ORACLE_DIR'} ...
    exit
    EOF
    -- C

  • Acrobat 7 - is there a menu entry somewhere for "Create Link" (other than in the context menu)?

    I need to create internal PDF hyperlinks with the link tool on selected text -- however I need the links to be created via the normal application menu, and not from the context menu (i.e. not via "right-click --> "create link").
    However, I can't find a menu command for "create link" anywhere.
    Help is greatly appreciated.
    David.P

    Thanks -- however, context menu items do tend to be duplicates of application menu items as you can see from any application of your choice.
    The link tool does not help since it is not capable to
    > create internal PDF hyperlinks on selected text
    Therefore I really am looking for an application menu item for creating a hyperlink (similar like with the highlighting of selected text via "Comments" --> "Edit Text" --> "Highlight Selected Text", to be found a second time under "Tools" --> "Commenting" --> "Edit Text" --> "Highlight Selected Text").

  • CREATE TABLESPACES

    i need your advise:
    is advisable to create tablespaces on folder where it is database file as (redo, system, controlfiles) or is better to create a folder on other disk for creating tablespaces.
    thanks..

    The whole concept of dealing with datafiles, controlfiles & logfiles on the disk layer is a little outdated, in my view.
    On a very small system - you have just 2 drives - then yes: It is important to use a separate drive to store your backups & archivelogs and to put your mirrored controlfiles & logfile members on. In other words: one drive for the Recovery Area. The other drive is for the Database Area.
    For a database of significant size and/or with I/O Performance critical, you will use as many drives as you can get and Stripe And Mirror Everything (SAME) upon those drives - with 2 ASM diskgroups (One Database Area, one Recovery Area) preferrable. ASM is the technical Implementation of the SAME concept.
    Kind regards

    Hello,
    We are in the middle of an Upgrade proyect from R/3 4.6C (kernet 4.6D EXT) to ECC 6.0.

  • How Can i Use /db2/ DBSID /saptemp* tablespace in DB2 9.5

    Hi Guys,
    I have installed a new system DB2 and at the time of installation i defined 1 mount point as /db2/SID/saptemp1 but it is not being used. I have two queries ?
    1. How can i use /db2/SID/saptemp1 tablespace in DB2 at the time of installation ?
    2. How can i use /db2/SID/saptemp1 tablespace in DB2 after the installation?
    Please mention the note number if available for same solution.
    Thanks in Advance....!!!
    Regards,

    Hello,
    with newer SAPINST versions, tempoary tablespaces are created in the /db2/SID/sapdata(n) filesystems.
    To answer your questions:
    1) This depends on the SAPINST version, but usually there is an option that lets you create the tablespaces manually. Check if there is an Option in the SAPINST dialog "Create Tablespaces with SAPinst.". If you deselect it, you can create them manually.
    2) The procedure would be to create a new temparay tablespace in your preferred filesystem(s), to drop the old one and optionally to rename the new one to the old name.

  • Db2 commands

    hi ,
    I am new to db2 database
    I have the following query
    1.) How can we check the scheme owner of the db2 database .
    2.) I wanted to reset the DDIC passsword from the database command prompt , can anybody give me the syntax of the command.
    3.) How to connect to db2 database from command prompt.
    Regards

    Hi Anthony,
    I would like to complement the answer of Anil Lella by providing other information related to your questions:
    1.) How can we check the schema owner of the db2 database .
    DB2 UDB for Unix and Windows (let's call it up to now DB6) uses different authorizations and privileges. One of them is the DBADM authorization, which is granted by default to the creator of the database.
    You can execute the following query to get a list of users, who have the DBADM authorization:
    SELECT DISTINCT GRANTEE, GRANTEETYPE FROM SYSCAT.DBAUTH WHERE DBADMAUTH = 'Y'
    Besides whenever you create a table in DB6, a default schema is associated with it; therefore, if you are connected with the user db2bn7 and you create a table, i.e.: mytable, then the table will be fully referenced by other users using the name db2bn7.mytable.
    Therefore, it might be possible you get more than one schema, that by running the query against syscat.schemata.
    2.) I wanted to reset the DDIC password from the database command prompt , can anybody give me the syntax of the command.
    I am not pretty sure, whether it is possible to perform such a reset from the database command prompt. As far as I know the DDIC user is a user from you SAP system, there is no correlation of this user to an operating system user or something like that. Therefore I would suspect, there is no way to do it.
    Besides, there is no such utility from DB6, which can interact with users created inside an SAP system.
    3.) How to connect to db2 database from command prompt.
    The answer of Anil is right. It depends on the kind of client you are, either local or remote. Just to complement the answer, I would mention as additional step, that you first must catalog the host holding the database as a TCP/IP node in your remote client. After that, you can catalog the database at the remote machine stating that the database at that node.
    When connecting from a local client, you do not need to catalog any database, because as part of the database creation process it is cataloged automatically.
    As general information source about DB6, I would suggest you to read the IBM documentation. In the following websites you have access to each DB2 UDB version documentation (listed from DB2 9.5, 9 and 8):
    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v9r5/index.jsp
    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v9/index.jsp
    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v8/index.jsp
    For question 1.) you will get further information by reading the entry for the CREATE DATABASE command.
    For question 2.) you will get further information by reading the entry for the CONNECT statement and/or the CATALOG DATABASE/CATALOG TCPIP NODE.
    Another interesting source of information is the preparation documentation for the DB2 Family Fundamentals Certification. You get access to this documentation in this site:
    http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/offers/lp/db2cert/db2-cert730.html
    Part 2 and Part 3 have further information about your questions.
    Best Regards, Edgardo

    I'm not sure that it is actually possible to parameterize the DYNR. Anyway, it would still leave you the problem that the field descriptors in the command interface would all be wrong.
    My suggestion for getting around this is to make several recordings using the SAPGUI command, creating a new command for each screen change. You can then edit the script so that the different cases between which you want to differentiate are separated by IF...ELSEIF...ENDIF  commands.
    You might then have something that looks like this (pseudocode):
    * SAPGUI command for common "opening part" of transaction
    IF (subtype = 'LA').
    *SAPGUI covering screen 2001
    ELSEIF (subtype = 'LW').
    * SAGPGUI covering screen 2000
    ENDIF.
    * SAPGUI for common "closing part" of transaction - if relevant.

  • Problem creating dataset using db2 stored procedure in Eclipse BIRT

    Hi,
    I am using DB2 9.7 Express Edition in Eclipse BIRT(version 2.5.1) for generating reports. I have used Type4 driver for jdbc connection.
    For that, I have established jdbc connection using db2jcc.jar and db2jcc_license_cu.jar files.
    I have successfully created data source, say DB2BIRT having following requisites-
    Driver Class - com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver ( v3.50)
    Driver URL - jdbc:db2://localhost:50000/database_name
    User name - user_name
    Password - Password
    I have written some stored procedures and trying to use resultsets from those stored procedures into my report..
    The stored procedures having involvement of only single resultset are working absolutely fine for new dataset using above DB2BIRT.
    But, I am unable to create new dataset using stored procedures those having involvement of multiple resultsets.
    I am getting following error as -
    org.eclipse.birt.data.engine.odaconsumer.PreparedStatement$SequentialResultSetHandler getMoreResults
    SEVERE: Cannot get more result sets from the statement.
    Cannot get the result set.
    SQL error #1: [jcc][10120][10943][3.50.152] Invalid operation: statement is closed. ERRORCODE=-4470, SQLSTATE=null

    Can anybody address my this issue for successful implementation of stored procedure(with involvement of multiple resultsets) for creating Data set in Eclipse BIRT ?
    I will be really thankful.
    Thanks in advance,
    Manasi

    Well, in my stored procedure I have used 2 to3 cursors(as per my business logic) and all cursors except one are holding result sets. That exceptional cursor is intended for holding as well as returning result set after call to the procedure. And its perfectly running on db2 and returning the desired output. The problem is with Eclipse. The same procedure is not working in Eclipse BIRT.

  • How to run db2 command by using Runtime exec

    Hello
    I am using java. When i am runing db2 command by using Runtime.exec( String cmd, String[] env ). I gave the environment path
    DB2CLP=6259901
    DB2DRIVER=D:\ibm\db2\java\db2java.zip
    DB2HOME=D:\ibm\db2
    DB2INSTANCE=DB2
    DB2MMTOP=D:\CMBISS
    but still I am getting error message
    "DB21061E Command line environment not initialized"
    after setting the above path in the cmd It is working fine. When i am trying thro java programm i am getting the above error. Can I get answer for this.
    bhaski.

    Before you can execute DB2 commands you have to open a DB2 CLP. The following code will do so:
    import java.io.IOException;
    public class Db2 {
         public static void main(String args[]) {
              try {
                   Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
                   Process child = rt.exec("db2cmd");
                   child.waitFor();
              catch (IOException io) {
                   io.printStackTrace();
              catch (InterruptedException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
