DBACOCKPIT saptools

Dear Experts,
In our organization there is no Database Administrator.I only the BASIS administrator.
Now i am facing one issue. In DBACOCKPIT when we going to configure any thing it is showing "Repair Data Collector".
Instructions from SAP support team, saptools size is 2 GB ,Now we need extend it to 10 GB.So please tell me how to
perform this action.
Thanks&Regards,
Patan Thavaheer.

Hello,
to increase the size for the data part of saptools you can use isql might be that you need to change the size of the saptools data device.
isql  -Usapsa -S<SID> -X
Password:
-> Check if there is enough space to expand the data device, to see what path saptools_data_001 is using you can use DBACockpit -> Space -> Devices -> saptools_data_001 or in isql just run:
sp_helpdevice saptools_data_001
go
The default size of saptools_data_001 is 2G you need 10G in total, so we add 8G to the device and we will expand the database also:
use maseter
go
disk resize name='saptools_data_001', size='8G'
go
alter database saptools on saptools_data_001 = '8G'
go
DBA Cockpit should now show that saptools is using 10 GB for data (DBACockpit -> Space -> Databases -> saptools) or you can use again ISQL:
sp_helpdb saptools
go
I hope this will help.
With kind regards
Stefan

  • Can not select from SAPTOOLS.DB6PMCF

We use third-party tool to monitor our SAP systems. We receive an error
    Can not select from SAPTOOLS.DB6PMCF
    when we monitor DB2 database.
Function DB6PMCF is registered in SAPSID schema. Can I register it also in SAPTOOLS schema? What is a correct procedure for this?

    Hi Milan,
I think you have to issue the following command for the affected user.
db2 "grant execute on function saptools.db6pmcf to <user>"

  • DBACockpit Configuration - Remote Database backup of Java Stack.

    Hi All,
I am configuring remote database backup of my SAP Java stack system.
I have successfully connected the system in dbacockpit. I have gateway installed also on the remote host system. but Database scheduling on DB13 failed.
On the OS of CEN system, I can connect to the host system of the remote using the OPS$ logon and i.e

    Hi Niyi,
This is a TNS error. The system is not able to connect TNS by using br*tools.
Firstly, check your environment variables. They should be as same as java system environmnt variables.
    Secondly, check the link below;
    [BR0301W SQL error -1017;
You need to create a synonym and SAPUSER table for the gateway installation <sid>adm user on Java database. By doing so, br*tools will be able to connect to the java database.

  • SAP SOLMAN 7.1 error in ATM for DBACOCKPIT

    Hi Experts,
My client's SAP Solution Manager 7.1 has been displaying the error message - "Error in RDI back-end setup occured!", since last one week. I am unable to analyze this to resolution, as there is nothing I couldn't find closely relative in the standard database SAP Sybase 15.7. ASE server configuration guides or in the SCN itself for that matter, which would help me resolve this bugging error.
I have also checked in system logs but have always found different types/varieties of database errors everyday. I am attaching the error screenshots for your kind reference and consideration. Kindly note that I have worked on most databases previously in an efficient manner except for Sybase ASE, which is relatively new to me.
When I click on repair, I am getting the following error, which my SAP Basis PM/lead has told me its a generic error.
Upon clicking on yes, I am getting the unavoidable error shown below -
The error is - "Error in RDI back-end setup occured!", as i have stated above.
I have checked the ATM logs and history and they are fine. I am getting error only in the ATM queue as shown below -
I am also getting the same database errors in event viewer as to those in the system logs for SAP SOLMAN 7.1 server.
I would appreciate it very much if one of the Sybase experts would help me out here. Speaking of technical configuration for any database in conceptual terms, I perceive this error to be a space issue as mentioned in the ATM queue. I believe I have provided sufficient details. The OS here is the Windows server 2008 R2 version.
Kindly mention if you need more details for a speedy and possible error analysis and resolution
This is an emergency task for me as I need to resolve it on ASAP basis. Rest assured, points for all right answers will be awarded generously.
    Thanks and regards,
    M. Nizam

  • Missing Tables and Indexes greyed out in DBACOCKPIT

    Hi All,
I use Solution Manager 7.01 with MS SQL Server 2008 DB.
I want to monitor with DBACOCKPIT a MS SQL Server 2005 DataBase of a SAP BPC 5.1.
I connected the DB but in DBACOCKPIT some functionality are greyed out.
I want to use in Diagnostics section the "MISSING TABLES AND INDEXES" function but this command is greyed out.
Is it possible to use this function?
    Please, help me!
    Regards,
    Alessandro

    Hi,
Gray color means that screen is disabled for any reason (authorization, SQL Server release, monitoring remote, etc).
I believe, those items cannot be monitored unless these limitations are sorted out.
Please refer to the Document "The SAP DBA Cockpit for Microsoft SQL Server" in SDN.
You can get the status about the restriction in the bottom of dbacockpit screen.
    Thanks,
    Jagan

  • No size history for SQL Database in dbacockpit for new system

    Hello,
we have installed a new ERP 6.0 System on Windows with SQL Server 2005 (3 month ago)
Now we haven´t any data in datbase size historie in the dbacockpit.
The message is: No size history.  Check the DB Collector status.
We checked already the state of Collector. It is running every 20 minutes and collect data for performance. But not for the growth of the database.
We also deleted the job at the SQL Agent and planned it new with the report MSSPROCS.
Does anyone have an idea whats the problem?
    Best regards
    Petra Wöritz

    Hello all together,
we are facing the same problem until now.
I checked all the points you suggested:
    - the performance collector job runs in client 000
    - time zone is set to CET
    - the SAPOSCOL is running
    - no errors by executing the SQL statement EXECUTE sap_dbcoll
    - no errors in SQL Job SAP_sid_SID_MSSQL_COLLECTOR
We don't have any data in size history.
But we found a error message in dev_w0:
C  dbdsmss: DBSL26 SQL3621C  Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK__#perfinfo_________0C5BC11B'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.#perfinfo'.The statement has been terminated
It occurs, when we try get the data of history in db02 (or dbacockpit).
    The note 1171828 doen't fit.
    We have already SAP_BASIS     701     0007
    We've got a system with SAP_BASIS     702     0006
There the error is displayed in dbacockpit directly:
    SQL-Fehler 2627: [Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]Violatio n of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK__#perfinfo________ _5A303401'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object
    Any ideas?
    Best regards

If star transformation was not the cause of the slowness, of course it won't make it faster.
I bet you any number of other different hints will result in no change in performance.
This is like replacing gas tank on your car with a LARGER tank & filling it with more gasoline to make the car go faster.
The amount of gasoline is not a factor that limits the speed of your car.

  • Use of activating SAP default ATM window in DBACOCKPIT

Hi Friends, As part of Glive implementation SAP asking us The SAP default ATM window is not configured/active. What is the use of ATM Configuration and Diagnostics. What are advantages of we activating SAP default ATM window using DBACOCKPIT. Please suggest. Regards, Karthik.

    Hi Karthik,
Refer to this doc, ATM stands for Automatic table maintenance and as per below is explained a bit better. The attachment is the scn doc desbribing it in much more detail and should address all your queries.
DBA Cockpit: Automatic Table Maintenance for Sybase ASE
1835880 SYB: How to diagnose issues with Sybase ASE Job Scheduler, ATM, or Scheduled Jobs
The advantages as stated by document is automatic maintenance of objects as required to reduce workload of DBA and improve performance /DB of stability as well. It does lightweight scheduled maintenance activities. My wording to describe it may not be entirely correct you should read the DOC it is very helpful.
    Kind Regards,
    Johan

  • DBACOCKPIT There are different versions of ODBC32.dll in use

    Hi all,
In dbacockpit if you go to Configuration and SQL Server Setup Check.
Got this error u201CThere are different versions of ODBC32.dll in useu201D
    How do I fix this?

    Hi Gareth Bosman,
For exact information about ODBC32.dll versions used, go to ST04 --> Diagnostics --> DISP+WORK DLLs
Here you can find the exact hostnames and all different versions of ODBC32.dll used.
Check and take the corrective steps either by updating MDAC or applying microsoft's recommended patches for that particular host only.
By the way, as per my observations, even continuing with multiple versions of ODBC32.dll will not affect smooth working of your application.  you can update it at later times also.
    Regards

  • Nw 7.4 Java No DBACOCKPIT

I just installed a brand new NW 7.4 PO installation. Of course its Java only.
This is running on Sybase ASE.
So I wanted to run DBACOCKPIT, I cannot seem to find it. All the documentation I see leads me to believe its only an ABAP/Webdynpro program.
Meaning I need an ABAP engine to call it.
My problem is, the only sybase in my landscape is for my PO install.
And as of NW 7.4, SAP no longer supports dual stack.
Can anyone help me with this?

    Hi
Could you refer the SAP Note for Remote admin

  • "BW Analysis" in the dbacockpit for a BW 3.5 System

I have set up dbacockpit to connect to my BW 3.5 System. When I look in BW Analysis I do not see as much data as I do when I connect to a BI 7.0 system. Notably the size of the PSA. Am I missing configuration or is this just not possible for BW 3.5. I do see the BW and ODS sizes. I thought that the table naming convention had not really changed fundamentally.

    Hi
SAP BW 3.5 is only available for version 8 of IBM DB2 Universal Database for UNIX
    and Windows.
u2022 Most of the recommendations in this documentation are also valid for earlier SAP BW
releases, for example, SAP BW 3.1 or lower.
There are differences in the database layout between the different SAP BW releases,
which are not explicitly described in this documentation. Make sure that you adapt the
given recommendation of this documentation to the requirements of your SAP BW
    release, for example:
ODS and PSA tablespaces are not distributed across multiple partitions with
    SAP BW 2.x.
For SAP BW 3.5, a page size of 16 KB is used for fact tablespace. For SAP BW
release 2.x, a page size of 8 KB is used.

    No dumps in ST22.
    Any idea ?

    Hello Desmond,
check the system log (SM21) as adviced:
05.05.2009 01:03:46 External communication error at program start (see system log)
Additionally check the trace of the according workprocess (ST11), ABAP dumps (ST22) and the brarchive log (DB12) too.
