Dbconsole error

Hello,
I am trying to start the dbconsole service but i got an error:
vta-1000
windows xp.
How can i check if i did something wrong during the installing affetct the dbcosnole.

enterprise manager service won't start if you are working on a dhcp based host. As soon as you get unplugged enterprise manager stops working, as it first was configured with a real ip. It could be the other way around, if you installed being unplugged it was configured to use the localhost.localdomain as its configuration parameters.
The way to solve this, if this is the scenario, is to configure a loopback adapter, rebuild enterprise manager repository and reconfigure enterprise manager.

Dear All,
MY DB Oracle 11gR1 on Linux is running fine, however there is a problem in Oracle Enterprise Manager Console.
I dropped and re-create dbconsole using:
emca -config all db -repos create

Java.lang.Exception: No such metric - dbconsole error (RAC DB)

I'm running the database console (10.2.0.1) from one RAC node (2-node cluster), and the agent is running on the second node. WHen I try to load the cluster home page, I receive the following error "java.lang.Exception: No such metric" at the top of the page. The rest of the page looks correct.

Does anyone know what can be the problem? We just migrated to a 10g envrionement and I don't have much experience troubleshooting the OEM dbconsole functionality. Using the browser and migrating to the agent port (3938) - shows working. The upload url shows the XML file receiver is active.

Hi all, When i run this command i.e. emctl status dbconsole
i get this error message.
Environment variable ORACLE_UNQNAME not defined. Please set ORACLE_UNQNAME to database unique name.
I'm using oracle 11g on windows. Please help me.

1.Update the /etc/hosts file with the host details:

Now check the status with 'emctl status dbconsole'
2.If the above doesnt help:

Hi!!
I need help in start dbconsole on linux. I try this command:

So i have a error message:
TZ set to Brazil/East
OC4J Configuration issue. /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0.1/db_1/oc4j/j2ee/OC4J_DBConsole_localhost.localdomain_orcl not found.
What I do wrong??

Error while trying to start Enterprise manager(Data Base Control)

We are getting error while trying to start the EM Database Control in database 11g (11.1.0.6).The error is given below.
#emctl start dbconsole
OC4J Configuration issue. /user1/oracledb/app/testdb/product/11.1.0/db_1/oc4j/j2ee/OC4J_DBConsole_appvserver.rssoftware.com_ORCL not found.
How to resolve this issue?

Error starting EM

Although I know there are many threads about similar issues, I've tried possible solutions found in other threads but no success. My case might
be different, so that's why I feel justified in posting my specific case about this common problem.
Running Winodws 7, Oracle Database 11.2.01.0
I'm running the emca setup right after installing oracle with the "software only" option, I've created the instance manually, created the windows service manually, the database manually,
ran catalog.sql, catprod.sql and pupbld.sql, created a password file and set "exclusive" on the pfile. All these tasks have been completed successfully. But when running the emca command
to configure dbconsole and repository, something went wrong. But in my browser I could get to the EM login page and it is displayed correctly. When trying to log in,
it displays "An internal error has occured, see error log".
I've tried several things which have not solved the problem yet.
1- I've copied a directory in OC4J with the "localhost" name as other threads advise.
2- I've set my IP as static.
3- I've unlocked sysman, DBSNMP accounts (before running the "emca" command in the begining).
The following is the last things I've done and the display output (abbreviated):
The last errors below which I named "ERROR#1" and "ERROR#2" listed are the ones that I think cause the problems.

Thanks Helios, I was thinking about that since no one dared to try to answer :-)
I visited your blog right now, looks very interesting and neat, I will go there some other time to
check it more in detail. I'm actually thinking about creating a blog too, I don't know much about
that yet, but I've heard wordpress is a good site to do it, don't know if the cost is high.

10g R2 on Linux x86

Can someone tell me if the current DB 10g R2 on Linux x86 download
has a <emctl dbconsole error> when installing it ?
The copy of 10g DB R2 that I have has this error and it is from JAN 2008.
Could I down load another copy from the web site with out this error ?

Console not working

OK I've installed 10g on my WindowsXP based laptop and set up a basic database which I can connect to from sqlplus. I'm trying to use the the http based console, in the absence of the old java console, but it can't connect to the database. It says there is a problem with the database, doesn't appear to be, and that the password is incorrect when I attempt to connect to it for startup, it isn't. When I go into the recovery options I get the following message after typing in the sys password.
Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
Any clues? Anyway to install the old java console without all the rest of the EM 10g gubbins?

Maybe, this could help, but I didn't try it. Here they talk about changed hostname and/or domainname, but we have a similar situation, when the IP adress has been changed.

Changing the hostname or domain the dbconsole can not find the file that it needs to start.
It looks in the old file location with the path of the old hostname.
Fix
In the enviroment set the ORACLE_HOME
In the enviroment set the ORACLE_SID
From the command line run the command
emca -r
This will recreate the file structure with the new hostname.domain Please read Using "emca -r" will not work as the DBConsole will continue to look for the old hostname/domain. The command "emca -r" will only work if you keep the same domain and name used from the original install.

Error in starting dbconsole

Hi,
Actually I have gone through many posts based on this thread. but no one really have a proper solution for it ...I have a situation like this,
I have a 2 node cluster on 10RAC. I was able to access respective oem url's from both the nodes before. But now somehow I am not able to access the OEM url from the first node. I can still access the OEM url from other node. When I tried to troubleshoot, I noticed that it is dbconsole problem. I am getting error while starting the dbconsole as follows,

I am getting a similar error in iAS 10g R2 on Windows 2003 64-bit. Did you solve your problem? Am I better off using Windows 2003 32-bit instead?

Help with starting the EM dbconsole please - emctl error.

Hi there - i've spent half my life trying to sort this and it's in vain. There's only 9 hits in google for the below error message and half of those are in Japanese. Not much help therefore. So any advice to be gratefully received!
I've installed enterprise manager with the option for Oracle to create a new repository. All seems to have installed ok. I've issued the set oracle_sid and the usual "emctl status dbconsole" command and i always get the "unable to locate web application configuration from ." error.
I can't see any oracle dbconsole service in the services window either. Should there be one or does this get created when you run a successful "emctl start dbconsole" command?
I've tinkered with the Oracle homes (as per previous discussions) but to no avail.
Appreciated if someone could point me in the right direction - I'm a newby to Enterprise Manager.

Nope. Still exactly the same.
Error as per previous server before i started hacking it (emctl status dbconsole): "Unable to locate web application configuration from ." I'm completely losing my mind with this install. This same error has happened on 3 different servers now. Always falls over on this agent configuration. Don't Oracle test their installation procedures? Anyway, here's a not so useful snippet of the logs. If anyone knows anything, would be good to let me know - otherwise change of career for me :-(

11.2.0.3 Windows DB install of dbconsole , repos and service creation error

Hello all,
I am stumped at this error when recreating the repository on a windows 2008 server install of the dbconsole for a active database. It seems that it's not able to create or delete the service even after deconfiguring it. any ideas ? the install account is part of the windows admin group locally.

I am trying to launch the db console and it denie access saying 'System Error 5 has occured"
Do anyone know what this means?

that is the point at which I got the error message.Please copy and paste your entire session .. your actual commands and the FULL actual response. There should be a lot more returned to you than simply "error 5".
And what edition of Vista? No oracle product is certified on any "home" version.
