Emctl status dbconsole error
Hi all, When i run this command i.e. emctl status dbconsole
i get this error message.
Environment variable ORACLE_UNQNAME not defined. Please set ORACLE_UNQNAME to database unique name.
I'm using oracle 11g on windows. Please help me.
sry, im a beginner. can you please right my specific solution in reply's.
I cannot understand linux commands, its making me confuse.

Try this:
1.Update the /etc/hosts file with the host details:
<IP> <hostname.domain> <alias>
Now check the status with 'emctl status dbconsole'
2.If the above doesnt help:
set the ORACLE_UNQNAME env PARAMETER and then retry the operation:
set ORACLE_UNQNAME=<value>
Now check the status with 'emctl status dbconsole'

Question about EMCTL status dbconsole
Good morning,
I am using Windows XP SP2 and 11gR1. I have an installation with 2 homes, db_1 is home to DBCASID and OCP11GSID, db_2 is home to ORCLSID. All are the same Oracle version, namely, 11gR1.
I have set the EM services to start manually. I initially started the service for ORCLSID then stopped it and, started the service for DBCASID which started uneventfully. The services were started and stopped using EMCTL by setting the ORACLE_SID to the proper values, in addition, since those instances are in different homes, I switched the PATH as necessary to point to their respective homes.
When I issue the commands:
E:\Oracle\app\Private\product\11.1.0\db_1\BIN>set oracle_sid=dbcasid
E:\Oracle\app\Private\product\11.1.0\db_1\BIN>emctl status dbconsole

Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g is not running.It reports the service as not running. Windows shows the service is running and in addition to that I have successfully started EM for the instance and used it to browse the state of various elements that make up the database.
As I type this, the address in IE that I am currently looking at is:

The question is: Why is emctl reporting the service as not running when it is most definitely running ? Any ideas ?

I had the same problem and the enterprise manager is running. The agent is not running on your situation but the enterprise manager itself is running.
When you type emctl start dbconsole it keeps printing dots (.) and saying the dbconsole can not be started. Actually the dbconsole is started but the agent is not.
Please type;
emctl status dbconsoleHere is my output (enterprise manager is running);

Emctl status dbconsole does not reflect correct status of dbcontrol

Emctl status dbconsole command shows that the Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g is not running. But in fact that I can access the Enterprise Manager and it is running.It seems that the emctl status dbconsole command show incorrect status about the dbconsole.
Why and how to solve this problem?

I did try to check that log but i m not able to solve this.

Hi all,
I'm a newb to Oracle 11. Just recently upgraded from Oracle 9 to 11. Before with 9i, I used to run the Java standalone tool dba studio to administer my database. With the new 11g database, I have successfully been using the web-based OEM Database Control. I access that page at https://server.mycompany.com:1158/em.
The only issue I have is when I run - $ORACLE_HOME/bin/emctl status dbconsole - I get the following message:
[oracle@myserver bin]$ ./emctl status dbconsole
OC4J Configuration issue. /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/oc4j/j2ee/OC4J_DBConsole_myserver.mycompany.com_MYDB not found.
Any ideas?

Does anyone know what can be the problem? We just migrated to a 10g envrionement and I don't have much experience troubleshooting the OEM dbconsole functionality. Using the browser and migrating to the agent port (3938) - shows working. The upload url shows the XML file receiver is active.

Error while creating DBConsole -- Error configuring central management
Dear All,
MY DB Oracle 11gR1 on Linux is running fine, however there is a problem in Oracle Enterprise Manager Console.
I dropped and re-create dbconsole using:
emca -config all db -repos create
These are the messages I got after creating it.

Running 10g 10.2.0.2.0 on Solaris platform(this is my development environment, so I was trying to do some testing and
get OEM to work).
I try to configure OEM, this database is UPGRADE from oracle 8.1.7

The agentTZRegion in:

is not in agreement with what the agent thinks it should be.
Fix your environment.
Pick a TZ value that corresponds to time zone settings listed in:
/local1/app/oracle/product/10.2.0.2/sysman/admin/supportedtzs.lst
I check the
/local1/app/oracle/product/10.2.0.2/devdb3_QADB1/sysman/config/emd.properties
It has
TZ=US/Eastern
and then I check whether it exist in :
/local1/app/oracle/product/10.2.0.2/sysman/admin/supportedtzs.lst
It does, so I don't know what do to next?

Hi,
I renamed hostname on AIX server.
i followed the following steps for configuring the agent after hostname change.
1) stop agent and remove the following files
rm -rf $AGENT_HOME/sysman/log/*
rm -rf $AGENT_HOME/sysman/emd/state/*
rm -rf $AGENT_HOME/sysman/emd/collection/*
rm -rf $AGENT_HOME/sysman/emd/upload/*
rm -f $AGENT_HOME/sysman/emd/lastupld.xml
rm -f $AGENT_HOME/sysman/emd/agntstmp.txt
rm -f $AGENT_HOME/sysman/emd/blackouts.xml
rm -f $AGENT_HOME/sysman/emd/protocol.ini
2) Open file, $AGENT_HOME/sysman/config/emd.properties
3) Modify parameter
EMD_URL=http://<new_hostname>:%EM_SERVLET_PORT%/emd/main/
Ensure hostname entry references new hostname; %EM_SERVLET_PORT%
usually defaults to 3872
4) export ORACLE_HOSTNAME=<new_hostname>
/u01/app/oracle/product/agent10g/bin/agentca -f
5) Re-discover targets - $AGENT_HOME/bin/agentca -d
6) Check targets registered - $AGENT_HOME/bin/emctl config agent listtargets
7) Check status of agent - $AGENT_HOME/bin/emctl status agent
8) Start agent, if necessary - $AGENT_HOME/bin/emctl start agent
9) Execute $AGENT_HOME/bin/emctl reload
10) $AGENT_HOME/bin/emctl upload
but after all these steps when i run the following, this is what i get

I am trying to start the dbconsole service but i got an error:

How can i check if i did something wrong during the installing affetct the dbcosnole.
Thanksenterprise manager service won't start if you are working on a dhcp based host. As soon as you get unplugged enterprise manager stops working, as it first was configured with a real ip. It could be the other way around, if you installed being unplugged it was configured to use the localhost.localdomain as its configuration parameters.
The way to solve this, if this is the scenario, is to configure a loopback adapter, rebuild enterprise manager repository and reconfigure enterprise manager.

If I'm trying to change <deploy_dir> from C:\OracleHomes\agent10g to whatever it fails with the "Unable to read C:\OracleHomes\db10g/sysman/config/emoms.properties.7388: No such file or directory" message.

i cannot figure out what is this enterprise-manager user? i don't remember myself implicitly creating the enterprise-manager user.. neither sys, nor system or windows admin users are excepted.
the http://dighome:4889/ link gives me the welcome screen to the Oracle Application Server

i cannot understand what i'm doing wrong and where to find the correct port of repository (i thought the deploying the dbconsole will help me to get the same page as OEM gave, with only exception that it will reflect all my targets. )

What does processing status code "Error" indicate in rcv_headers_interface.There is no error message in po_interface_errors.There is nothing available in the log of Receiving Transaction Processor.Can someone guide me what exactly this means?

I have set up a simple custom HCM process and Form regarding Infotype TO CREATE AND CHANGE POSITION. I have checked the process and form consistency and it seems fine. Now when I run the process from HRASR_DT it generates a process number but it also gives an error workflow could not start.I get following error (SWIA log - Step history)

Points to be noted:
1) I have searched few SAP notes such as 1384961(Notes for 6.0.4) but our system is in higher level patch 6.0.5
2) WF-BATCH have SAP_NEW and SAP_ALL authorization.

did you try to debug this? maybe something is missing in config of P&F?
Since you are on 605, the following note would be there in your system....use it to debug:
