i am posting fico document using bapi BAPI_ACC_GL_POSTING_POST.
after that i am updating the document number to my custom table.
but in some cases while updating the document in my custom table i am getting the fallowing dump..
in ST22
How to correct the error:
Database error text........: "[1205] Transaction (Process ID 66) was deadlocked
on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock
victim. Rerun the transaction."

Please check the entries in the system log (Transaction SM21).
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to

You will face this issue if your oracle data base is lack of work processes. try to check the work processes and increase them if possible with the helps basis guys.

    modify yitab from itab_update.

1. You have to Declare the Itab with the same structure as DB table.
2. Use the statement
    Modify <DBtable> from TABLE <itab>.
or
   Update <DBtable> from TABLE <itab>.

Field value is getting double while updating the database table

Hi Experts,
A simple doubt :
there is a standard program through which a zfunction module is getting triggered, through this zfunction module i am updating the database table.
Now what happening is one of the field(KCQTY) value in database is getting double at a time when i am executing the Program with same variant only.
I have also done the CLEAR & REFRESH internal tables starting of the Function module.
Can you please help me out.

Update the custom table by using Custom Function module.

Hi Experts,
        My requirement is ,
1) To create the Custom Z table with fields
           vbak-vbeln
           likp-vbeln
           vbuk-vbeln
After creating this Z table.
2) I have to create one custom function module.
    Based on this function module i have to update that Z table.
3) Before these steps i have to write down an ALV report based on the tables vbak and vbeln, in that table i have to print vbak-vbeln. and also in report i generated check box and one custom button in application toolbar. after the report will displayed , when ever i click the button in application tollbar , this function module will executed and the table will be updated.
    But I developed the ALV report with custom button and check box successfully.
My doubt is how to write the function module and based on that function module how to update the table.
      Please suggest me on this requirement.

Hi all, i need to create a one method in assistance class for updating the custom table.

Req as follows :
1. i need to create one method in a assistance calss for updating custom table .
2. now i have to pass the multiple entries to that table then inside the method based need to update the Ztable. based on this entries
3. My internal table is having 2 fields ( Customernumber (key field) , Shiftloc ).(Multiple entries ex : 500)
   based on customernumber need to update the new shiftloc in my custom table.
Can any one give some inputs please. i have doubt can we pass mupltiple entries (internal) as a importing parameter to the method?

Error Handling while updating the DB table

I have a scenario where in I need to update/insert records into the Database Table, here I want to capture as much as information I can in case of any error during insertion/updating of the rows in to the table.
Ex: If we are trying to update/insert 10 records into the table then think 5th and 7th records failed then,
---> Is there any procedure by which we can collect all the records which were failed during update/insert?

Error while releasing the custom table

Modified the User defined include files of a particular table for one of our requirements ( In the function group of the table maintenance generator ) and encountered an error while releasing the request to Quality server, the error disappeared after regenerating the table, this seem to be happening only when the user includes of a table maintenance is introduced/modified, why the release doesnt work when there is any change in the maintenance generator?,

After modifying, you need to re-generate everything so that, the changes come in effect.
Trying to release without re-generating will surely result in error.

Performance issue while updating the custom infotype records

i have the info type with 80,000 records my requirement is to change the infotype wage type value to the certain hard coded values .
after populating the final internal table , in loop i am passing the records and updating the info type by using the hr_infotype_operation function module
i have done the coding like bellow .
loop at lt_infotype assigning < x>
at new pernr.
bapi_employee_enquee
endat.
hr_infotype_operation
at end of pernr .
bapi_employee_dequee.
endat.
end loop.
but it is taking nearly 15 hours to update all the records .please suggest me better solution for reducing the execution time .

The delay problem can be solved with HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION by using it with another FM i.e. HR_PSBUFFER_INITIALIZE the delay happens because of buffer problem. Use HR_PSBUFFER_INITIALIZE inside the loop just before you call HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION and you wont see that much delay.

Including transport request while modifying the custom table

I have a scnerio like, I have to insert/modify some records in my custom table. Now we want that these records should come under a transport request, so that we can track which records are for which user.
I am developing a report and including a parameter for transport request in the selection screen. So the report will take TR number directly from selection screen, but how to include it for the records inserted.

I think you did'nt understood my issue. I am not using and transaction. I am creating a report program which inserts new entries into my custom table based on the flat file on my presentation server.
Now I want these entries to be inside a transport request which is there in the selection screen.

Get Error while update the User defined row table through DSK Code

I have got an error while updating the user row defined table.
Error is - "Invalid row"
I have created one master table "@CBF_FARM " and Child table "@CBF_FAR1"
First i inserted 5 record in the child table so in my my child table there are 5 Line id (1,2,3,4,5 one for each row).
after that i delete 2 rows (3rd & 4th row) from child table now in my child table there are 3 rows( Line id 1, 2, 5). Please See attachment.
Now i am updating the last record of child table through Code (Line id is 5) from other form, then i got error invalid row.

What i understood is you have 5 lines and you are going to be update 5th line
am i correct..
while u are updating the line in child table
you have to consider like this..
line number         u have to update like
1                                        0
2                                        1
3                                        2
4                                        3
5                                        4
which means in child table treat
line 1 as 0
line 2 as 1
line 5 as 4
If you want to update the line 5 u have to mention 4 th line

How to find out the volume of the data updated in the custom table

I need to find out the the volume of the data inserted or updated in the the custom table(Y tables).I have tried by the sm37.the job running in to update the table but i didnot get thde amount of the data.and if get the volume of the data which being updated in the custom table is there any option to control that amount to being updated?

I have calculated that one but how to update it after calculation. Can any body give a user exit or BADI with implementation which will update the VETVG table while creating the PO.

thanks for reply, I am using same BADI(ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST) and implementation(FIELDSELECTION_ITEM_REFKEYS). In this implementation i am setting the shipping data with SET_SHIPPINGDATA method . but after that the values are not updating the EKPV and VETVG tables but it is only showing in the screen. Can you give a idea where to pass these values so it will update the tables.

How to update standard table based on the custom table

I have requirement , I have custom table whatever changes done to the custom table must be updated in the standard table
i have tried the table maintenance events but unable to handle delimit , what is the base solution for this.
1) create
2) change
3) delimit
4) delete
6)copy

the table im updating is t710
the custom table is same as the standard table except for one field . whatever the user maintains the values in custom table except for the one field everything should update back to the standard table. Im able to update when we create delele but the problem is delimition. when im delimiting the record in custom table its just changing the startdate and it is not actually delimiting the record itself .I want both records the latest one and previous one and should be update back into the standard table same as the custom table

Hi,
dont go the table again and again . the table is updated at intial stage only for stock update but not when SAP is running.
In day to day bussiness the flow is as follows:
Production - MB31 - to Unres stock
Sales - VL02n - PGI - to customer - i.e out of unres stock
Every day u can run TC J1i5 once in a day as decided and update the register so all transactions which have happend in that day gets updated i.e both input and output.
and this will happen every day.
hence dont use table as it is only for intial data upload i.e just before golive.
