Dear All, I have currently buy a WRT54G router and would like to set it up remote desktop so that i can access the office system from my home.But after looking at the Port Forwarding in the Linksys,i do not know how to set as Linksys can only accept IP address start from 192.168.xxx.xxx while my house Prolink router is configure with IP address 10.0.xxx.xxx. The difference in IP address has make me confuse on to how should i go ahead with the settings. Hopefully anyone can help. Thanks a lot JQ
The WRT54G is connected to subnets: one on the internet port and one on the LAN side with the numbered ports and the wireless.
The LAN side uses 192.168.1.* by default. The router uses 192.168.1.1 on this side. This side is where you connect your computers. The connected computers can get addresses by the DHCP server on the WRT. The default address pool of the DHCP server is 192.168.1.100-149.
The internet/WAN port subnet is whatever the next router or your ISP has defined. The router gets a IP address assigned on this side, usually it is the public IP address provided by your ISP if the router is connected directly to the internet. If there is another router then the address of the WRT on the internet/WAN port is usually assigned by this router.
Port forwarding forwards a specific port number on the WAN IP address to a specific computer inside your LAN. Therefore the destination IP address of the router is always the LAN subnet 192.168.1.* as that is the subnet which is used on the LAN side.
If the internet/WAN port IP address of the router is not a public IP address, i.e. if there is another router which uses private addresses 10.0.*.* then you have to configure additional port forwarding on that router.
Remember that the destination of the port forwarding should always be a static IP address and not a DHCP assigned. The latter can change over time. Therefore the computer to which you forward the port should have a fixed static IP address configured on the computer.

Dear all, I have a MacBook Pro bought in April 2011. Last April, it got stuck while the wheel was spinning and I had to force it shut. That cost me my hard drive. Now, it's stuck again. I tried esc, cmd+tab, moving the trackpad on the apple, but no. HELP!

thank you for your prompt reply. After I sent the email, I left the wheel spinning to see if it would eventually stop. It didn't, but after a while the screen turned blue, so I decided to switch everything off with a forced shut-down. I could not restart with the OS DVDs because I am currently away from home, but fortunately everything was more or less fine after restarting. It then got stuck again, I forced it shut again, restarted again, and now it seem to work but I won't overdo it and will switch off smoothly after writing this (unless it gets stuck again). Last April I have replaced the HD, so it's now just under 6 months old. And, of course, since the crash occurred when I was abroad and had backed up just before I left, I have lost only a few days' work. Still, and I know this will make me hugely unpopular here, with my 5 previous laptops running on MS Windows I never had a problem. Which does not mean I loved the OS, or I would not have switched to Mac.
Anyway, and this is the main reason for this message, thank you very much again for your speedy intervention.

i have configured my office mail on MAC Outlook. I have some queries.
1) I have to restart my Outlook after every 5 minutes to receive new mails. They are not pop up automatically.
2) Every time i start outlook the bar (left side of my outlook in bottom) of sent and receive starts e.g: Retrieving (4/16000).How can i stop this to retrieving again and again.Even i can see my all 16000 mails in my outlook.
3) The process of retrieving mails is very slow for example 4/16000 mails took almost 3 minutes.

When i see the FS10N g/l balances ,there is a figure appearing as 5411289/- in the period December and when i double click on the above said figure to see the line items whose total comes to 5412544/- with doc.type: Y7, Fiscal Year 2011.
Can please tell me ,what could be reason for the difference between Balance appearing on the initial screen and line items total.

First, update iTunes, then connect the phone to the computer and do a restore. This will also get your iOS up to date. Your phone should operate correctly after doing this, if not, you will most likely need to have the phone serviced or replaced.

I currently have a WPN824 v3 Netgear router and I’m trying to set up my Apple TV. I am able to connect it to my wireless network but my airplay feature is currently not working. The icon does not appear on any of my devices. My ipad and ipones all are currently up to date and are all joined to the same network. Is it the way that my router is configured. ok i need lots of help here... i have a WRT54G router and trying to hard wire a computer to it and wirelessly connect to a laptop... i have dsl internet connection... the power light is blinking constintly and when i try to setup the router the default password doesnt work already tried to reset the router and that didnt help... any thoughts> thanks
the power led blinking all the time can be caused by a corrupt firmware, or a defective power adapter, try doing a hard reset, you may need to do it a couple of times, and then power down both the modem and router.
after a couple minutes, power up the modem, wait for the link led lights up, then power up the router and look for it to link up with the modem, at this time the power led on the router should be on solid if all is ok.
if it still don't light solid, you may need to do a firmware update, or the router is defective.
