Debugging Tips for Mapping and Validation modules

Hi,
I am new to CRM, anybody can send the dubuging tips for  Mapping and Validation modules and the list of tables which I have to check before loading.
(Intilal load & delta load)
Regards
KHM

KHM,
The first thing you need to make sure is that all queues are deregistered on both systems.  Check the settings in SMQR and SMQS on your systems.  The next step is that your middleware connection user must be a dialog user in order to debug the middleware properly.
If you have those two steps done, then for an initial load you can actually go into to the queues and debug the entries from each queue.  For a delta load you will need to put a break point in the transaction before the middleware trigger, and then turn on update debugging(if you want to go through the full process).
The only other key is looking up the correct function modules for the adapter objects to determine what is being called.  Once you know these and have done the steps above you can in general debug.
Validate the information above in your system and then let me know where you are getting stopped in your debug process.  We can then try to figure out why the debugger is not being called.
Good luck,
Stephen

I see a question mark in the sql statement, instead of the Oracle-style bind parameter notation which would be ":1". Can you change your VO to use Oracle-Style bind params and see whether it works?

  • How to Use the language function for assignment and validation

    Hi All,
If anyone can explain me in details with example ,how to use the language function for assignments and validations?
    Thanks
    Arnab

    Hi Arnab,
The expression is checked only for the current MDM session.
If u login with the ABC language it will always show the ABC language no matter how many times u execute it.
Try connecting to the DM with the XYZ language.
It should go to the if part rather than else.
    Hope it helps.

  • Combination for Assignment and Validation

    Hello Experts
I am looking for some insights on particular assignment-
Condition: In my MDM box if I have a field calles S field (source field)  and a look up field L field - here both represent for the same master data object .
suppose from some front end if user putting "valid" data for S field then respective "valid" data should be assign to L .
Here can I make a combo for validation as in the "Valid" Data for S.  I think for that separate Validation needed. and directly I cannot call this validation into Assigment.
Can somebody put more light..as in how the formula should be.
    TIA
    Deep

    Hi Deepak,
if my source system ID is "X" then it should assign MDM id "Y" . here both are legal set of values and I dont want them to hardcode. See, i don't see any harm in writing values as hardcode if this solves your concern, Like i suggested in above workflow branch step (Condition). You can write following expression in Validation
    Status ID = "X"
So when this validation pass, it will go to Assign step where assign step have expression as Y and then move to step stop1. If status ID is different than "X" it will not pass (means fail) thus should move to step stop2 without Assign step.
as in future it may change. Ideally it should not change even if it changes then before reaching this file in MDM, you can also handle this thing in PI/XI (Msg Mapping) So as such it will not impact your MDM system.
Also, if you don't want to handle this thing in PI, changing Expression in MDM does not take more than 1 minute to rectify it.

  • My firefox won't work; It says "unable to connect" and I have tried all of the tips for troubleshooting and it still wont' work.

Firefox opens up with an "unable to connect" message; it also says it cannot establish a connection to the server with these three bullets: 1) The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
    2) If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
    3) If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
I have tried to do all of the tips that you have on your website for troubleshooting and nothing seems to work. I know it is not my Internet connection because my roommates can get on Firefox without a problem and my Internet Explorer opens just fine.

If your iPad is defective and is still under warranty, you can take it to an Apple Authorized Repair Center and get it fixed.  If you are worried about a defective replacement, then a repair may be a better way to go.  <Apple Authorized Repair Centers>
Personally, I would prefer getting a replacement.  You read about many defects here in this forum, but they only represent a tiny percentage of all iPads sold.

  • Request Tips for Setting up Test Modules (HRMS, AR, AP) in R12

    Hi
I am fairly new to Oracle Financials and recently installed R12 on my linux box for trying and testing. My question may sound silly to many but please bear with me. After Installation I could login with SYSADMIN account and I can see Oracle E Business Suite, Oracle Applications Home Page.
On the lefthand side I can see the following options.
    Application Developer
    Application Diagnostics
    Auditing Manager
    CRM HTML Administration
    CRM HTML Developer
    Integrated SOA Gateway
    Preferences SSWA
    System Administration
    System Administrator
    User Management
    Workflow Administrator Web Applications
    Workflow User Web Applications
Now my question is how can I goto the screens of HRMS or Account Receivables etc from where I can customize the module. For example, if I want to define the chart of accounts, form where shall I start since the options listed above dont mention anything related to Accounts or HR or Inventory etc.
    Any help will be appreciated.
Please note that I chose almost all the options during the installation time therefore I am 100% sure that these modules must have been installed.
    Thank you all in advance.

  • Tips for learning SAP SD module needed

    Hello SD gurus,
I am a technical guy and would like to learn more about SD module. I would appreciate if some one can let me know if there are any online tutorials to learn the fundamentals of SD.
    Thanks
    Ram

    Dear Ram Prasad,
    SD FLOW/ OVERVIEW:
    Sales
Inquiry - A customer’s request to a company that they provide a quotation or sales information without obligation. An inquiry can relate to materials or services, conditions and if necessary delivery dates. The sales area that accepts the inquiry becomes responsible for further processing.
Quotation - A quotation presents the customer with a legally binding offer for delivering a product or providing a service within certain fixed conditions. This offer is legally binding for the company within a specified time period. A sales area can reply to a customer inquiry with a customer quotation or use it to refer to a business partner contact.
Sales Order - Request from a customer to a company to deliver a defined quantity of products or provide a service at a certain time.
The sales area that accepts the inquiry is responsible for completing the agreement.
Create Delivery:a. Picking - The picking process involves taking goods from a storage location and staging the right quantity in a picking area where the goods will be prepared for shipping.
    b. Packing - Packing is part of delivery- and shipment processing. When you process a delivery, you can select delivery items for packing and assign them to handling units (HUs).
    c. Goods Issue - As soon as the goods leave the company, the shipping business activity is finished. This is illustrated using goods issue for outbound deliveries.
Billing - Billing represents the final processing stage for a business transaction in Sales and Distribution. Information on billing is available at every stage of order processing and delivery processing.

    12. Defining Common Divisions for Master DataUse
The purpose of this activity is to define distribution channels which have common master data..
    Procedure
Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:
IMG Menu -> Sales and Distribution -> Master Data -> Define Common Division

    Pricing Procedure
In SD, Pricing Procedure is determined based on Sales Area (Sales Organization + Distribution Centre + Division) + Customer Pricing Procedure + Document Pricing Procedure. Sales Area is determined in Sales Order Header Level. Customer Pricing Procedure is determined from Customer Master. Document Pricing Procedure is determined from Sales Document Type / Billing Type (if configured). Once the pricing procedure is determined, Condition records are fetched. If appropriate condition records are found, the price is determined. If Mandatory pricing condition is missing, system will through an error message.
In SD, the steps to configure Pricing procedure are as under:
    Step 1:
Condition table: If existing condition table meets the requirement, we need not create a new condition table. Considering the requirement for new condition table, the configuration will be done in spro as follows: IMG --> Sales & Distribution --> Basic Function --> Pricing Control --> Condition Table (select the required fields combination, which will store condition record).
    Step 2:
Access Sequence: If existing access sequence meets the requirement, we need not create a new access sequence. Considering the requirement for new sequence, the configuration will be done in spro as follows: IMG --> Sales & Distribution --> Basic Function --> Pricing Control --> Access Sequence (Access sequence is made up of Accesses (Tables) & the order of priority in which it is to be accessed. Here we assign the condition table to access sequence.
    Step 3:
Condition Type: If existing condition type meets the requirement, we need not create a new condition type. Considering the requirement for new condition type, the configuration will be done in spro as follows: IMG --> Sales & Distribution --> Basic Function --> Pricing Control --> Condition Type. It is always recommended to copy an existing similar condition type & make the neccessary changes. Here we assign Access sequence to Condition type.
    Step 4:
    a. Pricing Procedure: It is recommended to copy a similar pricing procedure & make the neccesary changes in new pricing procedure. Pricing Procedure is a set of condition type & arranged in the sequence in which it has to perform the calculation. Considering the requirement for new Pricing Procedure, the configuration will be done in spro as follows: IMG --> Sales & Distribution --> Basic Function --> Pricing Control --> Pricing Procedure --> Maintain Pricing Procedure.
    b. Pricing Procedure: After maintaining the pricing procedure the next step will be determination of pricing procedure. Configuration for determining pricing procedure in SPRO is as follows: IMG --> Sales & Distribution --> Basic Function --> Pricing Control --> Pricing Procedure --> Determine Pricing Procedure.
    5. Condition record: Condition record is a master data, which is required to be maintained by Core team / person responsible from the client. During new implementation, the condition records can be uploaded using tools like SCAT, LSMW, etc.
    Normal Sales Order Cycle:-
    Step 1: Sales Document Type
IMG > Sales and Distribution > Sales > Sales Documents >
    Sales Document Header:
    1. Sales Document Type:The sales document types represent the different business transactions, such as Inquiry, Quotation, Sales Order, etc. To create new sales order type, always copy as with reference to similar sales order. If possible use standard sales order.
    2. Define Number Ranges For Sales Documents: Maintain number range with discussion with core team.
    3. Assign Sales Area To Sales Document Types:
    A. Combine sales organizations / Combine distribution channels / Combine divisions: Ensure to maintain these, else Sales Order creation will give error.
    B. Assign sales order types permitted for sales areas: Assign only required Sales Order Types to required Sales Area. This will minimize selection of Sales Order Type as per sales area.
    Sales Document Item:
    1. Define Item Categories: If possible use Standard Item Category. Incase if required to create new, copy as from standard & maintain New.
    2. Assign Item Categories: If possible, use standard. Formula for deriving item category: Sales Document Type + Item Category Group + Usage + Higher Level Item Category = Item Category
    Schedule Line:
    1. Define Schedule Line Categories: If possible use Standard Schedule Lines. Incase if required to create new, copy as from standard & maintain New.
    2. Assign Schedule Line Categories: If possible, use standard. Formula for deriving Schedule Line: Item Category + MRP Type / No MRP Type.
    Step 2:
    IMG > Logistic Execution > Shipping > Deliveries >
    1. Define Delivery Types: If possible use Standard Delivery Type. Incase if required to create new, copy as from standard & maintain New.
    2. Define Item Categories for Deliveries: If possible use Standard Item Categories for Delivery Type. Incase if required to create new, copy as from standard & maintain New.
    3. Define Number Ranges for Deliveries: Ensure to maintain number range.
    Step 3:
IMG > Sales and Distribution > Billing >
    1. Define Billing Types: If possible use Standard Billing Type. Incase if required to create new, copy as from standard & maintain New.
    2. Define Number Range For Billing Documents: Ensure to maintain number range.
    3. Maintain Copying Control For Billing Documents: Maintain relevant copy controls such as Sales Order to Billing, Deliver to Billing, etc.
he configuration differs from scenario to scenario & requirement of the client.

  • Syntax check for tables and function modules

    Hi,
I am writing a program that perform syntax check on object such as executable programs , function modules and tables.
Syntax check works fine for programs, but not for tables.
How can I perform syntax check on my tables or structures?
I get my data from the table TADIR. But I don't get my function modules from there. What is the table for this.
    Thanks 4 ur replies.

  • When we go for Views and Function Modules for Generic Extraction

    Hi Experts,
Can you please explain when we go for extracting the data using Views and when we got using Function Modules using Generic Extraction from R/3 system to BW with examples. And also can you explain when we go for delta for the above both scenarios.
Thanks for you help in advance

    Hi,
    Scenario for Extarction using FM
Imagine the scenario where you need to extract data from
tables having no common field between them and thereby preventing you from creating a view on top of those tables..
Or simply consider tables that are highly unrelatd in terms of fields, but you have a requiremnt to extract data from them.

I have been working on a set of images from a recent vacation and created a web gallery to display them.  I am using a Retina MacBook Pro and I noticed that when loaded in the browser (Safari), the gallery images look slightly blurry - similar to "non-retina" prepared images.  I also created a slideshow in the slideshow module and they look the same.
Can someone tell me if this is due to the fact that Lightroom is not rendering the preview images to be compatible with retina (HiDPI) support?
I'm very disappointed that I have invested in such an expensive piece of hardware and I'm getting such blurry looking images.
    Thanks for the help.

Retina-display compatible image is just a fancy term for high resolution image. It looks blurry because of the upscaling. If you want it to look good, export it at higher resolution, for example 2048×1536px for the ipad screen size.
