    Hello Friends,
         1.  How to Debug WebDynpro-ABAP application.
         2.  What is modal dialog
         3.  If Component contains more than one view, how to make one view is the default. Is that any way I can hide a view.
        4. Is that Component is the highest in the design structure, or any other types available like development components in WebDynpro-Java.
    Thanx for Ur time.
    Cheers,
    Sam

    Hi,
As i explained LIMU are subobjects like views as they dont have the seperate identity in repository so they have to be linked thru there parent component.
So when you transport whole component u can see there would be some entries in your transport list as LIMU types ( for views , windows).
OTR are text elements which u create for the elements of your view so u dont require to hardcode the text to be displayed as they need to be displayed in different languages so what you do is you create say button and for text to be displayed you create on OTR element under some package. now you give this package to your translation team to do all needed translations.
Yes DDIC types are from dictionary only but when you transport them so all newly created DDIC should also be transported.
P.S -> Pleas close this thread if satisfied with all questions.
    Thanks

  • RE: (forte-users) Debugging 'fixes' problem!!!

    Duncan
This is often indicative of a race condition, especially when
    multi-threading is involved.
What can happen is that task A is using something created or initialized by
    task B,
and task B hasn't gotten around to doing its thing before task A asks for
    it.
When running in debug mode, you give everything a lot more time to get
    things
done while it's waiting for you to click the next button. So, when task A
    starts task B,
you click Run on task B, watch it happen, go back to task A and click,
    watch, click, etc.,
and by the time you get to the trouble spot, task B has long since done what
    it had to do.
    HTH.

    Hi folks,
I've got a weird one here.
I'm trying to find out why my code to highlight a particular outline field
    row does not work.
However, when I run it in debug, it works perfectly! (The correct row is
highlighted). Anybody got any idea how I can get debug to behave
    consistently with "The running man"?
I have tried using "<OutlineField>.UpdateFieldFromData()" as well as
using the same method on the specific DisplayNode involved.
I must point out that the outline field is in a window running as a
separate asynchronous task. Would that make any difference when
running in debug? When the second debug window appears for this
task I just click on the "Go" button and there are no breakpoints.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Dhiraj,
This is step wise procedure to enable dubugging.
    1) Go to se80.
      From Menu choose <b>Utilities</b> . >> <b>Setting</b>  .
Choose <b>ABAP Editor tab</b> in that and then choose <b>Debugging</b> Tab.
In Debugging tab you will find <b>username and IP matching checkbox</b>. Please make that <b>checkbox checked</b>.
<i> It will enable you to debug at your ip address.</i>

Just take case in Wd_init() you add break point .When control come there automatically debugging screen come.
Hope I have served your purpose.
    If yes reward points.

    Hi,
SE38 - program editor . You started posting Webdynpro ABAP.
However if you type in for example WD_THEMES  or your program and press the debugger button should bring you to the debugger. IS this happening?
    Normal debugging with out portal.

  • WebDynpro: Problem with opening the generated xls file

    Hi,
I am new to the WebDynpro for Java world.
I am trying to learn by referring to the sample tutorials on SDN.
I tried executing the sample project for the exporting to excel.
After I down load the generated xls file to my computer and try opening it I get an error message from excel : "Microsoft Excel Viewer cannot open files of this type".
I get the same error message if I try opening the file directly instead of first downloading it.
Please help me out with possible reasons for this.
    Thnx in anticipation,
    Pravesh Puria.

    Hi,
Is the content type : application/vnd.ms-excel.
I guess the problem is with identification of the content type.

    Hi all ,
I have configured an Purchase Order UWL link to launch webdynpro application which was newly developed.
In which we are passing workitem id with that , so it will open the particular PO in WDA Application , The problem we are facing is that whenever we click the UWL Link from Portal It is not launching the WDA Application , instead it is remaining blank and trying to connect again and again like refreshing (i,e it is refreshing the URL again and again and not showing anything on the screen) , can anyone help me with this . And provide me with some documents to configure.
    Thanks & Regards ,

    Hi VInay,
Pl follow the following steps for UWL configuration to Launch webdynpro.
Step 1: Download existing configuration and keep as backup
Step 2: Copy the same configuration and add new Task
Step 3: Upload the new configuration file
    Step 4: Clear Cache
Step 5: Register item type for all systems ( I think you have done this step )
