Debug webdynpro from portal

Hello,
I would like to debug webdynpro application in ABAP which we are using via portal (IBM WebSeal). If I try debug application without portal, then everything is OK. We are using SSO for logon.
Any idea, please?

Hi,
SE38 - program editor . You started posting Webdynpro ABAP.
However if you type in for example WD_THEMES or your program and press the debugger button should bring you to the debugger. IS this happening?
Normal debugging with out portal.

Can anyone who was earlier working in ECC 4.0 tell me how to add an external debugger or debug Smartform from Portal.
External debugger is an easy option when it comes to ECC 6.0 but there is an issue for which i need to debug ECC 4.0 and i can't find Ext. debugger icon in the Function tool bar.

Calling Webdynpro from a Portal service

Hi,
I am new to EP. I have a task where i have to write a Portal service which has to call a prewritten Webdynpro. Can someone guide me as to how I can call WebDynpros from Portal services.

Hi Sudhir,
That makes no sense. Portal Services are "faceless components", i.e. they have no user interface. WD is just all about UI. How should that kind of integration work / make sense?!?!

Debugging the webdynpro abap application from portal.

I developed a WebDynpro application and integrated in portal. I have to catch some portal events.For that i have written some code in my application. I tried to debug the application from portal by using all the available break-point types.but we could not .
Anybody have an idea how to debug a WebDynpro application from portal.

a) Check on number of R/3 sessions opened at a time.
b) Check that user ID configured in portal using System Mapping Under 'Delegate User Administration' is the same user for which you are setting external breakpoint in backend system.

Null entry (from portal webdynpro) is not getting updated in R/3?

Hi Gurus,
I have a webdynpro application which has user input field where in which user can pass the data and it will get updated once user hit the update button in the view.
But in some case if user don't enter any value in the above said input box it has to update the r/3 with the blank entry.
But in my case r/3 system refers the value (which is passed from portal last time) instead of blank entry?
How to overcome this problem.
More detailed way:
If user don't enter any value in the input box then R/3 record has to be updated with the blank entry
else
whatever the data user enters in the particular input it has to be updated the r/3 with that value.
Right now If i pass some value in the input box it properly getting updated in r/3 but next time if I pass the blank entry in the input box it has to update the r/3 with this blank entry (as per the requirement)
But its not happening like that it referring previously entered data.

Hi,
Suppose you are using a function Module X which takes input "empno" ..., and exports name, city , rcode
Go to se37 , check the code ....it can be like this ...
if empno = .... then
update .......
// updated
else
// not updated ........
end if .
if updated ... u will observer 0 else some other number say 4.
Now when u do modelling in your webdynpro application , u can find export parameters know..
now u can check ...if rcoe = 0 ..updated else ...not updated ...
by that u can know...

Push MDM search results from webdynpro to portal's standard ResultSet iView

Hi,
I have gone thru a lot of SDN information, blogs and PDFs
regarding the usage of EPCF, EPCM for communication between
Webdynpro and Portal utlizing portal eventing phenomenon.
My requirement a.k.a. predicament and grief::
I get back mdm search results in webdynpro app, using a
specialized search strategy to MDM repository. I need to
ship these resuls off to the standard out-of-box
portal's MDM ResultSet iView (which is a part of portal's
MDM business package).
I haven't had much success getting crisp resolution to
satisfy my requirements. In my WD code, I know, I need
to put some sort of ?event-generating-2-liner-code? that
sends my results to portal's standard iView.
Surely, I can send just recordIDs or I can send the actual
results. I get 5 fields per record of Material's table.
Once the ResultSet-iView displays the search results,
my responsibility is over. Now onwards, portal's standard
business package will take over from there for further user
interacitons, like accessing item details etc..etc..
Any and all help is highly appreciated.

Retrieve already deployed webdynpro for java source code from portal server

HI ,
We have webdynpro for java apllication already deployed on the J2EE server. We found the ear file related to this application. But I am not able to make any changes to the ear file in NWDS as it cannot be directly imported into NWDS. We do not have NWDI for software logistics and the resource who built the WDJ application has left the company. Is there any way that I can retrieve the complete source code of the application from the portal. I need to make some changes to Webdynpro component and its view. I have worked with basis team to retrieve the ear file from portal server. But I could not make any progress just with the ear file. Thank you for your help in advance

You are probably breaking some license agreement by de-compiling the content of the 'war' files. Why not ask the people who provided the 'war' file if you could have the source and build system.

WebDynpro ABAP application issue from Portal after ECC 6 upgrade to SP14

Hi,
We have recently upgraded the Kernel, ABAP and Java stack of ECC 6.0 system to SP14. After the upgrade most of the WebDynpro ABAP applications doesn't load and just flickers when run from Portal as a WebDynpro iView, but they run perfectly fine when accessed directly using URL. These were running fine prior to the upgrade. Can someone suggest what can be going wrong.

Hi Mukesh,
As Gajendra said, restarting the service in SICF sometimes works for us, but not always. We have also had to deactivate the entire Webdynpro node, and then reactivate it and all of the services below it.
Obviously something changed in the SP, given that we now have to do this every time we create a new WDA application.

Need to open an ABAP WebDynpro application from Portal UWL work item

Hi All
I need some suggessions on how to navigate to an ABAP WebDynpo application iview from a mail(Work Item) in portal UWL.
Requirement in detail:
Agreements will be created from portal( Agreement Creation Application is developed in ABAP webDynpro and iview has been created with in the portal for this WD application). as and when the agreement is created a mail (ECC Workitem) should trigger to the approver, who has access to portal and check the mail(Work Item) from the portal UWL.
The mail body should consist the link to the Agreement created in portal ( Link to navigate to the Agreement Creation ivew).
So, the main requirement is user should navigate to the Agreement creation iview when he open the mail from UWL.
Mail can be sent from ECC by using ABAP Function modules or by creating a workflow
Please advice me on how can we achieve this requirement.

You can call the iView directly by using NavigationTarget..

NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content/myFolder/myRole/myIview
Plz note that the iView you are calling should be part of a Role.
And the PCD location of the iView in the Role must be given for Navigation Target.

SAP SRM error when debugging from Portal

Hi,
I have put an external debugging point in the backend SRM system and trying to process the Shopping cart from portal. It is giving an error message at the statement where I have put the debug point.
The error message which I get in st22 is:
The ITS service "bbpsc02" failed since not template could be found for
the screen with the number 131 in the program "SAPMSSY3".
The template was searched in the following ITS services:
"BBPSC01"
Note that for language-dependent templates the language is included
in the search.
Could you please tell me what should I do for enabling teh debugging from the portal.

There is an error in the publishing of template
Template :"bbpsc02" is not publised in ITS.
Go to T.code: SE80
Publish all the templates again and check
Check with your SAP BASIS team for the help

Debugging from Portal

Hi,
We access SRM screens via portal in QA system. We have one issue in contract form. Can I debug the smartform function module from Portal? I kept a cursor in function module and tried. But the portal didnt reach the break-point. But in development system, I could debug.
Can anyone tell me is it possible to debug from Portal content to SRM gui?

debugging for SAP gui of SRM can be done from ITS templetes of diff services.
not sure from portal.

The attribute name in iView configuration is 'Supply Portal Stylesheet'. It should be marked as 'No' to not to use the Portal Style Sheet.
