Declared Web Dynpro method's javadoc not updating

Hello all,
I declared a method in a custom controller, and changed the Javadoc to something more meaningful than the usual "declared method.". Now I'm trying to call this method from another controller. That in itself works fine, but when using NWDS' auto-complete feature, I still see the old, initial Javadoc.
I've tried building the project, reloading+rebuilding it, I even tried restarting the entire NWDS, all without success. Am I missing something? What does it take to get the NWDS to use the updated javadoc?

Hi,
if i am not wrong the JDK need to support the new java doc, mean to say are you using right jdk version for that. Coz javadoc.exe need to support.
plz give a try to this setting:-
Go to window-> preferences->jav->javadoc->javadoc command in that set the path for the javadoc.exe.

Calling Batch input from Web Dynpro - any alternatives for table updates?

Hi!
I am asked to create a screen in Web Dynpro for the GJ30 transaction (JV Cutback mapping of WBS' elements). I created a remote enabled function module which call batch input for GJ30 . Testing the Function modules direclty goes fine, but not calling the function module from WD. then I get the same error message as when I once tried to call SAP GUI from Web Dynpro ( Call transaction /submit program).
My next step is to try to create a batch input session (instead of call transaction) and run it using rsbdcsub, and then check the result of the run. But maybe this will fail of the same reason as well, and I suppose this will make the user waiting longer for the response .
I read somewhere that Web Dynpro does not support batch Input. But what can you do when there are no standard BAPI's for the update you want to do in SAP ? We are not supposed to do direct table updates.
Anyone who have struggled with the same issues and found a solution??

as BDC is calling screens and in Webdynpro ABAP you cannot use SAP GUI sceeen, you are getting short dump.

Web Dynpro ABAP, Interctive Form not opening

I have a simple Web Dynpro with a context node with two attributes (char10).
There's a view with an Interactive Form UI element and an input field with the corresponding label.
I've created a form through the Interactive Form UI element property templateSource exporting the context of the view to the form.
In the form I have a texfield bound to one of the context's attributes and a Web Dynpro Active X Submit Button.
The form displays fine without the enabled property of the Interactive Form UI element.
The problem is that I want this form to be interactive, so I have to set the enabled property to TRUE. When I do that the following error displays in the Internet Explorer:

WDY_CTRL_COMPO - although you should be cautious with such access as direct interaction with the Web Dynpro Metadata is not supported by SAP.

Web Dynpros stopped working after software update

Hi. Please forgive me if this thread is not in the good forum, I was not exactly sure where to post.
Yesterday we updated several "packages" in our portal using the Software Deployment Manager (SDM). Today, all our Web Dynpro applications won't work. It is almost clear to me that some jar files must be missing on the portal, but I can't say which ones and where to get them.
Here's the error I get on the portal when an iVew contains a WebDynpro:

Looking at SDM's log viewer, I found that an error occured during "SAP J2EE Engine Deployment", whcih seams to be related to my problem.
What should I do? I guess I could try reinstalling some "packages", but which ones? I am no expert with this so any help / clue would be greatly appreciated.

The problem has finally been fixed. I wasn't aware that some SCA downloads had to be "approved" so many were missing (this is why some jar files were missing in my upgrade). Amoung those SCAs was J2EE-Core. So we reinstalled many previously installed SCAs with the "new" ones and everything's working fine this morning.

If you want provide the interaction between two Web Dynpro applications then you must develop those projects as Development Components as DCs provides the reusability of the components created.

Web dynpro Flash Island will not load in portal

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know what could be the cause why our FlashIsland wont load into the portal.
We do get the blue Flash-background and if we right-click on it,
the right-clickMenu has an item "Movie not loaded".
The server supports FlashIsland because we are using Netweaver 7 EH 1.
Also we haven't got any problem to run normal web dynpro's with FlashIsland.
Is there something you need to configure to use FlashIslands in the Portal.

I also added a new workset and some pages with iviews..
If i include my Islands here it works.. Only if i alter a webdynpro app that is already added to the portal
the .swf won't load...
Does anyone has an idea?

I'd be checking how those original iViews were defined - quite possibly they aren't built in the same way. The island needs to load some libraries and will be relying on a relative path to find these libs - if the path to the app is not defined in a "normal" way then this link may not resolve correctly.
Worst case - rebuild your iViews if that is working for you.

SRM 7.13 Web-Dynpro custom configuration is not getting delegated

please help to solve my issue:
SRM 7.13 I created a new configuration of a Wed-dynpro view to replace the original one.
But for some unknown reason it is not getting delegated on the SRM web. Technical Help shows the original WDCONFIGURATIONID.
My WD configuration properties show that the new config should be delegated to replace the one which is still visible on SRM web.
I even tried to add my WD configuration to the table WDY_CONF_DELC, but no luck.
I have no info yet on this from my client, so I am triyng to get some hint even this way.

I am on SRM 7.13 and I also have problems to make my new WD configurations visible on SRM web.
Component: /SAPSRM/WDC_DODC_ORG_ATTR
View: V_DODC_ATTR_PLANT
It is actually the table for Plants in Personalization --> SRM User Settings (Personal Settings) - Attributes (Plant)
I configured the part above.
How to make my WD config work?
I tried to add the config info into table WDY_CONF_DELC, but it makes dumps in User Settings.

In your case say the user clicks on a button on the same view:
wdDoInit() will NOT be executed as that was already executed when the view first came to the user
onPlugFromSearchViewToPage1: will NOT be executed unless you are redirecting your control from SearchView to Page1. Well - if this button click actually fires a navigation from Search View to Page 1 then this method will be executed otherwise not.
supplyResources: might be executed if you change any data of the context node with which this supply function is attached.
wdDoModifyVIew: will be executed after the button hit - just before the view is getting re-thrown back to the user.
Do one thing - if you want to understand which methods are getting executed and in which order - please put a message in each of them saying "Now executing <this> method". Replace the <this> with method name. Then on screen you will see when which one executing and their order of execution.
You can print this message by
wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportSuccess("your message");
Put this code into all the four methods you are concerned with and then run the application.... you should understand yourself.

         I think you are suffering from the problem below.
Problem Statement:
No Webdynpro Perspective is Visible
only perspectives available are
    Debug
    Resource(default)
    Team Synchronizing
How to Solve:
There are many ways that this kind of error can occur.
1.   It may occur due to "improper installation of NWDS"
How to Check and Resolve :    Is NWDS is displayed in intalled list in Control panel? If 'yes' then it is properly installed. If 'No' then reinstallation is needed.
2. It may occur due to "installation of Skeleton alone"
How to Check:
                                  you can check if your installation includes Web Dynpro by selecting
Help->Software Updates->Manage Configurations.
When installing Developer studio 7.1 you only get the bare eclipse installation (Skeleton). You have to add web dynpro and all, after the initial install is complete.
The installer installs the kernel of the Developer Studio. The kernel contains Eclipse and a few SAP additions, but is not equipped with the SAP features necessary for the Composition Environment. In order to install the required SAP features you have to install the SAP features.
           How to Resolve:
Updating the NWDS software will resolve the problem.
Go to Help->Software Updates->Find and Install. This will install the default SAP plugins that came with your NWDS CE 7.1 setup source and also the additional updates that are needed.

What to when my browser/program is not supported by Web dynpro

Did this start when you installed Firefox 4?? Many web applications use browser version numbers for compatibility checks. Even if they actually would run just fine in a newer version. I suggest checking with your internal IT on whether this is a known issue for that application.
If the site previously worked with Firefox 4, maybe they changed something, or maybe you installed a new add-on that is causing a conflict?

Changes to BI web templates are not updated

Hello BI Experts,
I need to find a way to advise my portal resource on how to resolve a problem we are experiencing.
When we make a change to a web template, the changes are not updated and it appears that the old version is cached. The only way we can get the new template to show is to bounce EP.
Does anyone have suggestions where we can find the appropriate global settings to set the cache so that EP will retrieve new BI content as it is modified?

Hi Tom,
If there is some incorrect setting in the portal, the WAD templates does not get saved after the first Save action.
I am not sure of the setting which needs to be done. But I can provide you an alternate solution. If there is no other issue than the templates not getting saved, you can use this.
You can save your changed template using 'Save As' in a different name and then you can delete the original template. Afterwards, you can save this template with the actual name.
