Default domain won't start properly on Redhat Linux ES3.0

I was able to install App Server 8.1 without incident on a Redhat Linux ES3.0 box.
When I try to start the server using:
asadmin start-domain domain1
It will not start properly. My error stack is as follows:

Any assistance would be great.

The error indicates that JMX connector server could not be started on port 8686. It is hard to say why that is happening, here are some suggestions --
- Make sure that there is no firewall blocking port 8686 on server1.wip.com
- It is possible that rmi runtime is using incorrect host name (server1.wip.com). You might want to set java property java.rmi.server.codebase to the IP address of the machine. [To do this, edit DOMAIN_DIR/config/domain.xml and search for java-config element. Add a jvm-option entry similar to -
<jvm-options>-Djava.rmi.server.hostname=xx
</jvm-options>

  • Won't start properly because of too much stuff on desktop - how do I delete stuff if it won't start up now?

I was trying to move photos to an external hard drive because my startup disk was full and I accidentally dropped them onto the desktop. Now my computer won't start properly because of all the stuff on the desktop and I don't know how I can fix that?

Start up in safe mode. Hold the Shift key while your Mac is starting and check that you can start up in safe mode. Then, choose all the items you want to transfer in Desktop by pressing Command and A keys, and move them to the external drive.
If you have any file in Desktop that you don't want to transfer, simply click it while pressing the Command key

Macbook Pro won't start properly... keeps restarting without chime!
Late 2007 Macbook pro.  OS upgrade worked great for me.
I have had this problem on and off for a month or so.  I simply cannot figure out what the issue is.  I have tried poerup with and without AC power and with/without battery installed.
Starting in Safe mode does not help.
Trying to start with a disk does not help.
It sort of seems like it might be an internal power issue or GPU issue.
It also feels sort of like a software compatibility issue since my Macbook Pro gets reallly slugish for no apparent reason sometimes and IU have to restart.
I have three different anti-virus programs so I doubt it is a virus issue.
I noticed all this start after I did a Mountain Lion upgrade and then tried to start up VMware Fusion.  Fusion seemed to just bog down the computer horribly but did not cause a system crash.
I need to edit an important sequence on Final Cut Pro and don't want it to freeze me out!
Anyone who has had this problem and resolved it please let me know
    God bless

If it doesnt chine it doesn't mean much, the mute could be on or you installed a anti-chime software.

  • Safari won't start properly - update related??

Suddenly , when I open Safari, it doesn't start properly - I just get the spinning wheel icon and I cannot browse websites. ( Luckily, I have Chrome which is working.
I don't know if it was related the recent Delta os update so I downloaded the 'Combo' update and applied it but still Safari won't work.
I don't fancy the re-installation of Lion just to get Safari working but if there's something less drastic, perhaps someone can suggest something.
    Thx in advance.
    -d-

That's not good news.  Creating a new user account should be a trivial exercise, unless there is something wrong with your system. The fact that Chrome is working doesn't reassure me... it could be a system problem that doesn't affect Chrome because it isn't deeply embedded into the system.
    I suggest two steps:
    1) Boot into your recovery partion by holding COMMAND-R when you reboot your computer.  Then open disk utility and do a verify disk on your main partition.
    If that is ok:
    2) If you have a good quality internet connection, it could be worth downloading the 10.7.3 Install Mac OS X app from the Mac App Store and reinstalling (after making an appropriate backup of course).  If all goes well, your data and user accounts will be preserved, but it will work better.
    Cheers,
    Rodney

  • Updated OS to 10.5.7, now computer won't start properly...

Updated to OS 10.5.7 three days ago. After installation, system prompted restart (as usual). I clicked "restart", system properly shut down, then began to restart, then was stuck in restart mode for 3 hours! Gray screen with apple icon appeared, along with circling lines indicating it was "thinking" (I guess), then finally it just shut off. Now, it won't restart at all, just goes to gray screen for a few minutes, then goes black. Tried restarting from the system disk (10.5) which came with the computer, but I then get an alert saying it can't restore software because it can't find 10.4 or newer on the system. It shows my computer, with 10.5.7 on the startup disk menu, but selecting it and restarting throws me back into the gray screen/shut down loop.

Try starting in a different account or Safe Mode. Other issues have been related to font problems. You can test for this if things work in Safe Mode. A different account will check if it is something specific to your account.

Safe boot mode runs a directory check command similar to that used by Disk Utility's repair. In Tiger it ignores some stored information (cache) that is normally read that speeds up the boot process, and it moves some other caches to the trash. It also uses only System fonts and disables all Startup Items, third party items, and any Login Items.
By the way, did you repair permissions with Disk Utility before and after doing hte update?

  • Acer Aspire E5-571-53HX won't start properly

I was using my laptop and had the usual blue screen pop up to staten that the computer ran into am error and needed to update. Upon restarting the computer it stopped at the acer start up screen but it was disoriented and the picture was skipping. After I turned my laptop off again it only boots the fan up for a few seconds then beeps like it would when shutting g down normally. Sometimes after it shuts itself off it turns back on again but it never shows anything on the screen. I've only had the laptop for just over a week and recently installed windows 10. Is there anything that can be done?

    Onixzepher,
If you can't get into the advanced options to possibly refresh/reset the system to repair itself, you can attempt to restore it to factory defaults using the ALT-F10 method.

  • Firefox won't start properly. The process begins in task manager, but the program doesn't start.I have restarted the computor, and updated my plug-ins. Don't know what to do next. It will open in safe mode, but not regularly.

When we click on the icon to start firefox even though the process opens in task manager, the program screen doesn't open

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

I get a messagebox telling me that OS X has rebooted improperly, and do I want to report or Ignore. Neither of these works.
What can I do now, I can start applications from the dock, but these also hang after loading.
    HEEELPP!

Thanks for your answer, but I managed to get this sorted in this way :
    Reset Pmemory.
Started the machine holding the left-shift button down, I guess I entered single user mode.
Reinstalled the complete update from a USB mem-stick, containing the complete update, and not the small, that came with system-update.
    After this, all is well.
Thanks for your answer anyway, they migth save my bacon the next time..

  • Computer won't start properly after Leopard installation attempt

Yesterday I tried to install Leopard 10.5.6 on my G5 (currently running Tiger 10.4.11) and ran into a ton of problems. First, a message came up preventing me from upgrading without erasing my hard drive. I decided to quit the installer and back up my drive before erasing it, but after trying to start up again on my main disk, the computer will no longer get past the Apple logo screen. It stays that way for several minutes, and the computer revs and revs until it's at max RPM, then the computer just shuts off. I can't access my data to back it up.
I did some internet research and tried started up from the install DVD again (which still works) and tried to repair my disk using Disk Utility. This didn't work and an error message came up: "Attempted to Repair Disk, attempt failed. Invalid Node Structure, Volume Check Failed. Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit."
If anyone has any advice I would be VERY grateful, I am hoping to not have to have the computer repaired as I already have my other Mac out of service as well and the cost of repair has been high. I need to back up some important files before I update to Leopard, is there any way to do this while starting up from the DVD since my Startup disk doesn't work now? What happened??!!!

Is it possible that the piece stuck in the audio jack has resulted in turning off the internal speakers?
I would say that the Leopard installation is not 100%. Sometimes this happens. Or you may have a piece of software installed that mutes the speakers, and it needs to disable that. If it's not the latter, then I would erase the hard drive and reinstall from scratch. If that's not feasible then you can do the following:
How to Perform an Archive and Install
An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
    1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer.
    2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
    3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
    4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
    5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
    6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.

  • [SOLVED] GNOME won't start properly

    Hello,
I have just started with Arch and already encountered a newbie problem I installed Arch ok using the beginner's guide, the base system is ok, I got up to the point of installing desktop environment (GNOME3 is my choice). I installed mesa, drivers, X etc and Gnome ofc. I added "... dbus gdm..." into DAEMONS array and rebooted. The blue Gnome wallpaper shows normally but the login window is not the usual black Shell one, but grey old-looking instead (fallback mode?). I've got only the ugly X's clock cursor but I can click on my user's name and login. However, nothing appears, just the same blue background and the clock cursor
Anyone has an idea what I might be doing wrong? Thanks

  • Hp dv6t 6b00 won't start properly. Led's flash

    My laptop:
HP Pavillion dv6t 6b00. I did pay like 750$ for it and I've had it for about 2-3 years.
    Here is the story:
I spilled a bit of apple juice on my keyboard and about 5 of the keys got sticky. The next day it wouldn't turn on. I few times before, my laptop wouldn't turn on and I had to reinsert the battery for it to work. This time when I pressed the power button it the mouse pad light, power button light, and wifi light lit up for about a second then went out. This happened every 5-6 seconds until I removed the battery and disconnected the power source again. I did the hard reset procedure: disconnect the power cord, remove battery, hold power button for 30+ seconds. It didn't work. Opened the computer and cleaned up some residue, but I didn't see any on the motherboard. After a few days of Googleling someone suggested to try pressing f4 and the power button at the same time. By doing this, my laptop powered up and is running again. However, sometimes it faces the same problem again and won't turn on, but flashes those three lights. The f4 + power button will turn it on, but something is obviously still wrong.

Do they just flash once and turn off or flash a few times? If they flash a few times, how many before they turn off?
Also, could you please give me the exact product number for your computer?

  • Computer won't start properly

I have a windows 7 PC that has been working just fine for almost 3 years now. All of a sudden without warning, all the programs I had open were "not responding" so I tried "ctrl-alt-delete" to start task manager, but nothing came up. Finally I had to just unplug the power to shut it down. I tried starting again, clicked "start windows normally" and it started to start normally and the welcome scene came up but right when it would normally go to the user list, the screen went black. Again the only way I could turn it off was by unplugging it. I went on HP's site and tried all their suggestions, recovery manager, hard resets, and four or five other options and nothing worked. I restored the computer to it's condition from a few days ago while on safe mode, and although it said the restoration was successful, the problem remained. Is there any other possible way to resolve the problem, or will I have to return to factory settings? I have a lot of stuff saved on the computer in 3 years, so I would really rather not return to factory settings.

    Hello,
FIrst thing to test is your Hard Drive
Hit F10 when the PC is first powered on and go into F10 setup - then choose diagnostics and run the HDD test. This will rule out the DD as being the problem. After that you may try a system restore from safe mode.
    I am an HP employee.
