Default selection of link bar control

Hi All,
I have a problem in my application.
I have a link bar control in my app for navigation. And i
want to make it selected without clicking an indiviual item.
I dispetched a item click event of link bar manually, it
works properly and it navigates also. But at the same time i have
to change the color property of an item, that not working. I have
to click on item for that.
I hope any one can have solution for the same.

You may need to set a style for the "enabled" color, or is it
the disabled color. The "selected" item uses this style.

SharePoint 2013 Foundation Top Link Bar wrong selected page when no navigation match

Hello,
I've got the following issue.
At one of my clients we are working on a public web site based on SharePoint 2013 Foundation (yes I know... Foundation...). I've branded the Top Nav Bar and ran into a problem.
When I navigate to one of the pages in the Top Link Bar the selected item is marked as "Selected", great! But when I navigate to one of the pages that is not added in the Top Link Bar the first item is marked as "Selected", not so great.
For example when I navigate to /Pages/About.aspx the first item /Pages/Home.aspx is selected.
Can you help me out?

I would select a link from the drop down on the address bar but the page would not open. I would select it again but the page does not open. I could only reach website by selecting google on most visited list.

After updating AVG anti-virus, I encountered a problem on Firefox. I would select a link from the drop down on the address bar but the page would not open after clicking on it. I would select it again, even double click, but the page does not open. I could only reach website by selecting google or yahoo from my dropdown on the most visited list and then click the website that I want to visit. I would like to do this in one step by just selecting a link from my history on the address bar and select a link instead of going to google and then writing the page I want to visit. What could be the problem? When going to the address bar to select a link to open, why does the site not open? Any help would be appreciated.

Whenever I try to edit the top link bar of my SharePoint site, I get a page that just says "New Navigation Link." That's fine, the link bar is empty, but when I click on that, IIS crashes:

According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when editing the top link bar in SharePoint 2013.
As the error message is very common, I recommend to check the ULS log for detailed error message for further research.
For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log is at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS.

I had a quick links bar with several sites that I use on a daily basis, it is now missing and I need to find where it went?

I had a quick links bar that contained several of my daily sites. Today I opened Firefox and that bar is no longer there. I have tried to find it under the "View" tab but nothing exists. Where did it go and how do I bring it back?

If it was the Bookmarks toolbar and it's no longer visible, you can make it visible by going into ''View > Toolbars > Bookmarks Toolbar''.
If the Bookmarks toolbar is visible but no bookmarks are displayed, go into ''Bookmarks > Bookmarks Toolbar'' and see if there's anything inside it. If there is, go into ''View > Toolbars > Customize... > Restore default set'', to restore your interface buttons to their default postion. If there is nothing inside ''Bookmarks > Bookmarks Toolbar'', something deleted what was inside it. You should be able to restore your bookmarks by going into ''Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks... > Import and Backup > Restore''.
If none of this helps, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. I Can't pass copy link to the link bar

I tried to simulate the error by using the same version of windows and Firefox, but it worked.
Try using safe mode:

When I right click and select open link in new tab, it leaves the page I am on and takes me to the first tab to the right

I usually have many tabs open when I read the news, and it is nice to select open links in new tabs while scrolling through a news' home page. Lately, however, Mozilla has been opening the new tab, but switches the page I am viewing to the first tab to the right of the home page. For example, I had ESPN.com open, and then a few Facebook tabs after that to the right. Whenever I would select open link in new tab, the tab I was viewing would switch from ESPN.com to the first Facebook tab to the right, and the new tab would open a little further down the line. Any chance anyone knows how to fix this?

When I select a link to open in new tab or even just to open the page that opens is not what I choose. Istead I get random sites

How to get the default selection color from JTable

Hi, there,
I have a question for how to get the default selection color from JTable. I am currently implementing the customized table cell renderer, but I do want to set the selection color in the table exactly the same of default table cell renderer. The JTable.getSelectionBackgroup() did not works for me, it returned dark blue which made the text in the table unreadable. Anyone know how to get the window's default selection color?

The windows default selection color is dark blue. Try selecting any text on this page. The difference is that the text gets changed to a white font so you can actually see the text.
If you don't like the default colors that Java uses then use the UIManager to change the defaults. The following program shows all the properties controlled by the UIManager:

Any of the properties can be changed for the entire application by using:

No it won't help.
You can't set a value into an <input type="file"> control at all. The user has to put values in themselves.
The reason behind this is security. If the programmer could put any value they liked in there, you could upload any file at all from a users computer without their intervention. eg C:\windows\system32\passwords.txt
Bottom line: you can't put a default value into the input type="file" control.
And a good thing too ;-)

PDF as default selection for Select printing cotrol (for Web)

Can someone point me to righ direction? What we are trying to do is, in Infoview, set PDF as default selection for "Select printing Control (for Web)", so that each user does not have to do this in preferences in infoview.
Is it possible to do so? If yes, how?

Take a look for a .vbs sample that synchs the ADMINISTRATOR preferences to all users on the BOE platform.
You can schedule this as a PROGRAM OBJECT in InfoView so that it runs on a regular schedule to apply the change to new users.

How to use a link bar or navigation bar for display only?

My app has a link bar in an Application Control bar that is bound to the view stack of the steps in my application.
I would like to use this as a mechanism to show the user which step he is on and how many are left, but NOT to click on it to navigate between steps. I have provided wizard-like buttons to step navigation.
How can I have the link bar not respond to clicks, or, if not, programmatically disable certain steps in it (e.g. "step 2" not available until I say so)?

OK, I have decided it might be easier to use a repeater with buttons in it, such as:

So now I'd like to progressively change the buttons in the repeater to "enabled" as I am ready.
However, toolbar.getChildAt(0).enabled = true fails with:

Radio Button Group By Key will get the values from domain of the data element used in attribute which is binded to Radio Button Group By Key property 'selectedKey' .
That is why we don't have any code in wd_do_init method.
So you need to go to the domain and check the domain value of the data element used, and then set the default value of your interest in existing standard program using WDDOINIT---> Post Exit method as said by Naveen and Abhijeet.
You have to set the attribute binded to Radio Button Group By Key property 'selectedKey' with same domain value you want to set as default.

Will I be able to select the URL bar by pressing F6 with tabs on top again?

In previous versions of FF (lo, with tabs on bottom) I could select the URL bar's text simply by pressing F6. With tabs on top I press F6 and select the tab itself, not the URL bar.
Is there a setting I can change where the functionality will be returned to what it once was?

There is an open bug report concerning this behaviour, it is not blocking the release of Firefox 4 so it may not get fixed prior to the release of Firefox 4. An alternative keyboard shortcut is Control+L
