Default the Date Picker to Today

Hi,
I have a date item called Due Date that has a defualt set to
PL/SQL Function Body
return to_char(to_date('31-Dec-2050'), 'dd-Mon-yyyy');
But my user would like the date picker to show today when they open it to change it. Is this possible? Is there no 'Today' button option?

First, and out of sheer curiosity, what is the nature of your application, that you have a due date on 2050?

I don’t think this behavior is possible with the current date picker. The date picker points to the item current date, as it should be, and don’t include a “today” button. What you can do is to add such a button yourself, using the “post element text” field of the date picker item. This button, using a JavaScript code, can set the value of the date picker item to “today” – using a hidden item containing “today” date. If the user still need to look for a closer date, he can open the date picker, and now it should open on the “today” date.
Another option is to use an external date picker, like the one in here - http://www.dynarch.com/projects/calendar/ . This one include a “today” button.

When you mean everything, I am assuming you need all possible dates possible between date1 and date2.

"Date picker" in report - - View source shows no label for the date picker

In one of my reports, I am using multiple types (textarea/text/date picker/select list)
I wanted to use a javascript based on the label, but I do not see "<label>" for Date picker in the view source due to which my Javascript fails.
Snippet of view Source:

Hi,
OK - the headers attribute should also help as these will identify the correct cells. You would need to know the html tags used within each cell for each datatype.
Would using cloneNode help you? It's a method of creating a copy of an entire row in a single instruction

When I select the Date Picker Format Mask or "Number / Date Format" they doen't have YYYYMMDD or others that may be desired...

Bill - From the popup help text:
If you need to create a Date Picker item, but the format you need does not appear in the Display As list, select Date Picker (use application format mask). When an application uses this type of date picker, the Application Express engine derives the date format from an item named PICK_DATE_FORMAT_MASK. You can populate this item in two ways:
- By defining an application substitution string named PICK_DATE_FORMAT_MASK
- By creating an application-level item named PICK_DATE_FORMAT_MASK

How to disable the date picker in manualy Tabular form?

I develope an application with apex 3.2 , I builded a tabular form manualy with APEX API and I have an item 'date picker' , I want that once user want insert the date , he can do it only by clicking on the date picker and not into the item

There are two kinds of metadata involved when you consider jpeg or other image file.
One is the file data. This is what the Finder shows. This tells you nothing about the contents of the file, just the File itself.
The problem with File metadata is that it can easily change as the file is moved from place to place or exported, e-mailed, uploaded etc.
Photographs have also got both Exif and IPTC metadata. The date and time that your camera snapped the Photograph is recorded in the Exif metadata. Regardless if what the file date says, this is the actual time recorded by the camera.
Photo applications like iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom, Picasa, Photoshop etc get their date and time from the Exif metadata.
When you export from iPhoto to the Finder new file is created containing your Photo (and its Exif). The File date is - quite accurately - reported as the date of Export.
However, the Photo Date doesn't change.
The problem is that the Finder doesn't work with Exif.
So, your photo has the correct date, and so does the file, but they are different things. To sort on the Photo date you'll need to use a photo app.

its very simple...
take a input field and map it to the attribute which data type is of "date". thats it at runtime you will see a input filed with date picker.
i.e. Add an inputField and bind the context attribute of Type Date to it
this will show the date picker on screen.

Why is the date picker icon is not showing on the PDF file?

Hi,
I added a date field on a form.
I can see the date picker icon when viewing the form online but when I download and open the PDF to my computer and open it on Adobe Reader that icon doesn't show up.
It's important since my users then need to manually enter the date instead of choosing it on the graphic interface (some of my users are older so need all the help they can get)
Is there an option or something I missing to make the date picker icon show up on the actual PDF file as well?

FM to default the date to SUNDAY

I really don't know a FM to make sunday as default to a selection screen parameter. However, I would make a workaround to achieve that goal. You have your parameter p_date, right? So, in INITIALIZATION event do the following:
PARAMETERS: p_date TYPE dats.
DATA: return TYPE p.
INITIALIZATION.
p_date = sy-datum.
DO.
CLEAR return.
CALL FUNCTION 'DAY_IN_WEEK'
    EXPORTING
      datum = p_date
    IMPORTING
      wotnr = return.
IF return EQ '7'. "sunday
    EXIT.
ELSE.
    ADD 1 TO p_date.
ENDIF.
ENDDO.

Error on Page - when clicking the date picker

Hi Gurus and Experts,
I'm scheduling a report, when i click the date picker in the Report Parameter section, I got an Error on page (the date picker did not pop-out). What is the problem with this? My date parameter is working when not use for scheduling.

I also encounter that error. The error says 'document.forms[...]' is null or not an object. It only occurs in the report parameters sections when scheduling a report. It works fine on viewing the reports and other that has date picker except from scheduling page.

I think there is no method to actually restrict the date picker popup, but you can use the ApexLib Framework (http://apexlib.sourceforge.net/) to define a min/max value for your date field. This will prevent the user from submitting the page when the date value is outside the defined range.

It is an known APEX 3.1 issue metioned in the "Oracle Application Express 3.1 Known Issues & Limitations" Page([http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/3.1_known_issues.html]).
There is a workaround posted in forum, see Re: Date popup problem in APEX 3.1 and this post was also mentioned in the "Oracle Application Express 3.1 Known Issues & Limitations" Page.

I have a customer who want to customize the <af:inputDate>. He want a additional button appear under the calendar box in the date-picker popup.

Hi,
add the af:convertDateTime tag to see the exploded dialog. Note that this doesn't allow you to add custom buttons to the dialog. Its just extends the functionality
