Default value for selection screen field

I am using LDB PNPCE. I want to give default value for field Personnel area on selection screen.
How can I do it?

Hi Rahul,
In the INITIALIZATION event we can set the default values for selection screen fields.
INITIALIZATION.
loop at screen.
if screen-name = 'S_MATNR-LOW'.
CLEAR S_MATNR.
s_matnr-low = '1234'.
s_matnr-option = 'EQ'.
s_matnr-sign = 'I'.
append s_matnr.
CLEAR S_MATNR.
s_matnr-high = '5678'.
s_matnr-option = 'EQ'.
s_matnr-sign = 'I'.
append s_matnr
clear s_matnr.
endif.
endloop.

Set of default values for Select-Options

Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement where I need to set default values for select options
ex: SELECT-OPTIONS: S_MTART FOR MARA-MTART
default values must be ERSA - HIBE- FHMI - DIEN - GEST

Hi,
For each SELECT-OPTION, you can only specify one DEFAULT.
You must specify the default value g in its internal format, e.g. "SELECT-OPTIONS DATE FOR SY-DATUM DEFAULT '19931224'", not "... DEFAULT '24.12.1993'".
The default value g should normally be a literal because, at runtime when you use SUBMIT, it is transferred to the selection options table sel so early that no value can be assigned to the field g. System fields like SY-DATUM are an exception here because the system usually assigns values to them as soon as the report processing starts.
When you use user-defined selection screens in your programs that you do not call using SUBMIT, the DEFAULT value is transfered when the selection screen is first called. In this case, therefore, you can use other fields g.

HI,
You can set default values on to screen fields using SET and GET PARAMETER command, You need to assign a PARAMETER ID for that screen field and then use SET PARAMETER before the screen is called or in the PBO of the screen, you can set default values direcly in PBO of the screen but then you have hard code those value or read the data from database.
You need to have a TABLES statement to create a strucutre that you used to create your screen fields, then when you set value to these strucutre fields these values will get tranported to the screen fields automatically.

Go to SE36 (logical database Builder).First enter PNPCE in Logical Database and press documentation,here you will get the details of exactly what is PNPCE and how it works.After that select selections in subojects in se36 only and enter display ,there you have the include from where you acn get the idea.

In this case no need to have one more extra variable. U can directly assign to ur parameter.
In data declaration u can only default hard coded values. But not calculated values. This is because first selection screen will be triggered and later ur calculations. So at the time of selection screen is triggered ur variable dont have any value. Thats why it was not working. Change ur code to like above. It will work fine.

Xavier Reddy Penta sent me this question via email and I answered it directly yesterday. Here is the solution that I provided to him, so that it is stored with the original question:
I believe your problem is that you are not setting the value into the range correctly. You are setting it directly into the field symbol of the range like such:
<FS> = L_STRING2.
But ranges are deep objects. They have four fields: Sign, Option, High, and Low. This is from the online help:
1.     sign of type c and length 1. The content of sign determines for every row whether the result of the condition formulated in the column is included or excluded in the entire resulting set for all rows. Evaluable values are "I" for include and "E" for exclude.
2.     option of type c and length 2. option contains the selection option for the condition of the row in form of logical operators. Analyzable operators are "EQ", "NE", "GE", "GT", "LE", "LT", "CP" and "NP" if column high is initial, and "BT", "NB" if column high is not initial. With the options "CP" and "NP", the data type of the columns low and high must be of the data type c, and special rules apply for entries on the selection screen.
3.     low of the data type defined after FOR. This column is designated for the comparison value or the lower interval limitation.
4.     high of the data type defined after FOR. This column is designated for the upper interval limitation.
So when you are moving the value into the field symbol you are setting it into the sign column.
Here is an example of how you can access the components of the range:

How to get values of selection screen fields in the POV event

I have two radio buttons r1,r2 and a field file_name on selection screen.
I have written At selection screen on value-request for the field file_name. Based on the selection of radio buttons I have to display different screens when f4 for field_name is pressed.
Unfortunately the values of r1 or r2 are not populated in the AT selection screen on value-request event.
Can any one tell me if there is a way to obtain the values of r1 or r2 in the AT selection screen on value-request event.

i want to know how to maintain default ranges in selection screen...like 2000 to 3000 and 7000 to 8000 and 11000 to 15000
all the above ranges must get by default how to provide those to selection screen by default...please give me idea...with example...

You can either use select-options or Ranges. If you want the selection screen to be displayed with allwoing user to enter values apart for the default ones use select options else use ranges. With ranges what ever values use hard code would be set and the end user will not be able to add any more values (or range of values).
Simply write the following code
tables : <name of the table from which the field belongs>
select-options <fieldname> for <tablename>-<fieldname>.
<fieldname>-sign = 'I'.
<fieldname>-option = 'BT'.
<fieldname>-low = '7000'.
<fieldname>-high = '8000'.
append <fieldname>..
similiarly add all the ranges that you need to include as default and in your select statement use the IN operator inthe where clause to include the range.
If using range replacethe select-option with the range statement.

How to refresh value in selection screen field

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to refresh the value in selection screen.while i run the report in selection screen i selecting one variant for look the output if i use some other field value with same variant without save its working fine i am avle to see the data but while i come back to again selection screen and selecting some other variant that extra add value is not getting refresh its showing with new variant.Its happening for only one variant not for all if i select some other variant then its getting refresh value in same field.Any one can help me for this issue.

Hi,
That means, I believe - the value that is "not changing" is saved in the particular variant. You can easily verify it by starting the report without variant and then selecting the variant in question. Remove the value from screen and save the variant again. Don't forget to check of variant needs to be transported from development system...

Modify default value for static parameter field programmatically

Hi,
I have my Crystal Reports stored in a BO Enterprise system. I have written a java programm that scans the repository, loads the CR reports one by one into a ReportClientDocument, modifies the data source and then stores the updated report back to repository (it overwrites the existing objects).
I was even able to modify the default values for the parameters, which are used for scheduling of each report.
But what I am trying to do know is to overwrite the default value used when invoking the report interactively. This should be the value found under the Default Value field, when the Properties window of the parameter is opened in the CR designer.
This is what I have tried so far:
Option 1: First I tried to set the default values using com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.ReportClientDocument.getDataDefinition().getParameterFieldController().getField(...).getDefaultValues() . The only thing I have managed to do using this approach is to modify the static LOVs that are associated to static parameters. The actual selected value (shown under Default Value in the Properties window for the given parameter field) remained unchanged, when invoking the report in the InfoView or opening it in the CR designer.
Option 2: I have used com.crystaldecisions.sdk.plugin.desktop.report.IReport.getReportParameters().get(ik).getDefaultValues() to change the default values. I was able to see my changes in the BO repository (using a query on CI_INFOOBJECTS), still the changes did not really have an impact to what is displayed as default value when invoking the report in the InfoView.
Any help will be appreciated.
It would be great to know if someone of you has already implemented successfully such a use-case.

How to set default variant for selection screen

Hi,
I want to make one variant as default for selection screen for one user.
For eg., take COOIS. For the selection screen, i have 3 variants. But i want one variant to be default. Thsi is not for all users. Thsi is for particular user.
I am not seeing any way to do this. please help me..

Hi,
If you are using Z program then you can ask your developer to get Variant name Runtime from Parameter ID.
This means you decide a Parameter ID name : ZVAR in your Z program and ask your developer to load variant each time your Z program loads.
Now, second step will be using SU01 transaction you can set value of ZVAR in Parameters tab for the user. This value will be the variant which you created for this user.
This will solve your problem and you can make n number of variants and assign it to different users.

Is it possible to pass a default value for the quote screen/document, to be more specific, the payment terms field?
Can i use the BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI~BBP_QUOT_CHANGE? I have reviewed the signature but i can't find the payment term field...
