Defaulting Values on checkboxes in a custom infotype

Hi all
I am making a custom infotype , In which i have some check boxes . i want , When i save the infotype , If i checked certain check box , its value in the PA9XXX table should be stored as 'YES' else "No'.
When I am writing logic for this in any of the modules , It is not working .
When i am trying the user exit EXIT_SAPFP50M_002(component PBAS0001)
Its working for 'No' but not for 'Yes'.
i.e if the check box is checked , I am not able to get 'Yes'.
Can any one plz help me on this .

What is the field for check box in infotype table?how many characters?In
PAI,check the field and pass ' Yes ' if not intial.

Default Values for checkboxes

I have a report page with two regions: one is for the filters (organization, date, range, etc.) and one is the actual report (set to display only if the report returns rows). I have a Checkbox list that consists of two checkboxes - one for day and one for night. I use them to filter the report based on either Day shift, Night Shift, or both (PL/SQL reports). How can I set the default value of the checkboxes so that both are checked (and the report shows both day and night shift data)?
Item is P1302_SHIFT, LOV (STATIC2:Day;1,Night;2)

For the HTML Form Element Attributes for P1302_SHIFT specify
checked=true
This will make the checkboxes render as selected
For your query add a line to the where clause like
and ':' || shift || ':' in (':' || :p1302_shift || ':' )where shift is the database column that holds the shift value.

Hi,
I'ld like to set a default value to a checkbox (bound to UserDataSource) within the XML definition of my form.
Is this possible, and if so, how??
I'ld also like to know if there is a description available of all possible tags/combination in XML batchactions.

Hi Joeri.
I'm afraid you can't do that via XML, I think the only way to ensure that you have your box checked is through a UserDataSource, so use the Collections tab to connect your checkbox to an appropriate UserDataSource, and in the code, you can re-bind the checkbox to another datasource.

Saving default values for checkboxes

Hi all,
one of our customers has recently upgraded ´their NW7.00 (SAP ECC 6.0) system to basis SP18. As a result of this, it is no longer possible for users to save default values, in Web Dynpro ABAP applications, neither for checkboxes nor for radiobuttons.
This worked fine before the application of the support package. The user could simply right click the UI element and select "Use current value sas default" from the context menu, as is still the case for all other input-enabled UI elements.
This option is simply no longer available in the context menu for checkboxes & radiobuttons.
I have had a look through the OSS notes in the SP and also the "Side-Effects" report, but can't find anything to indicate that this has been done deliberately by SAP.
Before I raise this as a question to SAP, does anbody out there have any more information on this issue. Is it a bug or a feature?

Hi Mike Speightl,
You can save the default values in the Webdynpro by using the Method (WD_DO_INT).
For exp :
If Emp is your Node name.
ID and Name are your attributes in which you wish to put default values after execution:
lo_el_emp->set_attribute( exporting name = 'ID' value = '1001' ).
lo_el_emp->set_attribute( exporting name = 'NAME' value = 'SAP' ).
When you execute your application, it will display default values in ID : 1001
Name : SAP
Just before loading any view, this method will be executed : WD_DO_INT
If you are referring to default chkbox selected after executing then refer to the concept Initialize lead selection

How to set default value to user attribute in customized information tab

Hi Experts,
we created a custom attribute in Administration-managed custom attributes and now we are getting that attribute under customized information tab in user admin->identity management.
This attribute is coming for all users and it is working fine and I can give value to this attribute also.
Now the problem is we have more than 10000 users in the portal and we have to assign same value to this custom attribute to all the users.
Is there any possiblity of setting the value to all the user without coding.
If it is not possible then how can I proceed for coding.
any help will be appreciated.

Yes my data source is LDAP. This attribute is added in the portal itself and I don't think it is possible to set the value of custom attribute at LDAP.
Shanta : We already created the custom attribute and it is also appearing in the Customized information
Problem is we need to set a value to that attribute. This should be same to all the users coming from LDAP.
My Basis people are asking the funtion module which calls when we click on the Customized information tab. Is that possible to know?
Or we can set this value by writing a piece of code in webdynrpo java?

I have a test in my environment. It could be achieved by setting the Text Property of TaxonomyWebTaggingControl.

If i maintain default values in the vendor master record, it will automatically adopt in the purchase info record.
Here i tried using sales person & telephone no field in vendor master record & it automatically adopts to purchase info record.
Region sales person and telephone no i have maintained in vendor master record, it automatically fetches to info record for the particular account group. I am not sure if there is any relation between vendor master and material master record.

Default values in query designer

Hi,
We have little weird requirement in our project.
We have 2 variables on week char. in the query. One in global restriction which is manual input and other is in default values which is populated through customer exit. This is done to make sure if user does not enter anything on the variable screen in weeks variable, weeks will be populated from customer exit. In case if he/she enters anything on the screen ,query should only consider values entered by the user.
E.g If user executes the report and doesnu2019t input anything, customer exit will populate 200901 to 200910. Again if user goes to variable screen from the option in the analyser and inputs 201001 to 201015, query should only consider 201001 to 201015 values. But in this case values populated from customer exit in earlier run do not get delete automatically. I want to delete those values, if user inputs anything on the variable screen.
I was thinking of deleting entries from e_t_range table but this is not possible as e_t_range table in turn passes the values to some SAP internal table(in std sap code) which we can not touch) and clears the e_t_range table in each run.
Could you please suggest any other way to resolve this issue?

GO to the Customer exit and check what is the I_STEP value it is taking.
I think the Query is not refreshing with the for the second time when the user is imputing the values manually.
Use I_STEP = 2 in the Customer exit and check.

Is there any way to set default values for fields in infotype 0017? Maybe a
feature? I'm thinking about defaulting values based on pay scale group.

You can implement what i suggested in my previous post.
Or else, you can do what we did in one of our client requirement.
We created a custom Ztable where we had defined which value of the the employee grouping to be placed for which record.
We did that on the basis of the company code fields.
For eg: IF BUKRS = 'TR01'
then EE Grp Expense Type = '1'.
ENDIF.
Similarly for other fields.

Default value of BeX customer Exit variable not Displayed in WeBI??

Hello Experts,
We are stuck with a problem where WeBI report is created on top of BeX query and we are not able to see the default value of Bex Customer exit variable in WeBI run. Here is the complete scenario:
1. One restricted KF is created in BeX, restricted with Customer exit variable on net Due date. And this variable is mandatory, ready for input, and Default value in calculated is user exit as current Week's Monday.
2. So, by default KF data should be restricted to Monday of current week, if user does not change this value.
3. Now, WeBI report is created on top of this Bex query, and all is working fine, i.e. we are getting variable as Prompt in WeBI, but Default value is not shown while Running the Webi Report.
So, need your inputs on the same, if default values from BeX in WeBI is supported or not? If yes, why this is happening, and how to resolve it?
Please notice, the restrcition is in KF only, it is not a separate restrcition on Net Due date in Filter area or in Defualt area of BeX
and we are on SAP BW 7.1 and BOXI 3.1 SP4.

WebI will prompt when executed, but the default values calculated by the user exit - do not appear.
Note: If the BEx variable has property 'ready for input' set / enabled, then its WebI prompt shows ok, but no default value appears.
Cause
This behaviour expected 'by design' (in the context of the product's current limitations) as explained in the online guide below:

Characteristic variable > processing type > Customer Exit is "Supported, without user entry"

Custom CAPI service - default value of varchar2 parameter

I have a Custom CAPI Service function. That function has a varchar2 parameter (argument) and I wish to set a default value NULL for that parameter.
I set Default=null, and when I generate CAPI package, my function in that package looks like this (notice the quotation marks around null):
function cs_cjn_prod_cijena
( p_nacin_prodaje in varchar2 default 'null'
return number
is ...
And it should look like this:
function cs_cjn_prod_cijena
( p_nacin_prodaje in varchar2 default null
return number
is ...
I tried setting Default Value Type to Literal, Database Function Call, Client Function Call, but it's always the same thing.
If that parameter was number or date it would generate ok.
It seems like the bug in "Generate CAPI Definition" Headstart Utility.
I know that I can make my function's code to treat the string 'null' as a null default value, but I'd like to have a "real" null as a default value.
Does anybody have a solution for this?

Thank you for your answer, but it didn't help. I have already tried using Database Function Call. This time I tried deleting the CAPI package from repository before generating it again, like you suggested, but it didn't help.
I still get: p_nacin_prodaje in varchar2 default 'null'
Which version of Create CAPI Definition utility do you have?
My version is: HSU_CAPI, Revision: 6.5.2.0 ("Help/About This Utility" in Headstart Utilities application)

Using a Table as a Default Value in a Custom List

I am trying to create a list for users to fill out that utilizes multiple tables for data entry. I would like to set the table to be the default value for the field in order to have consistency across submissions and for ease of use. I have tried using HTML
code for the table as well as copying the HTML markup from inserted tables in the field but I have been unable to generate a table in the field by default. I have tried this in both the web based editor and Sharepoint Designer 2010.

Which type field did you use for storing the table? Please try to create a site column using Publishing HTML type or Enhanced rich text, and add the column to the list, use it to store the table. Test it using your method, compare the result.

If it doesn’t work, I think, you need to create a custom field type to store the table, and set default value for it. You can try to create it based on the Publishing HTML or Enhanced rich text type.

Assigning Default value to a Infotype Field

Hi,
My requirement is to assign default value to the loan amount field of the loans infotype(0045).
I am using the PBAS0001 user exit program ZXPADU01 and taking the basic pay amount for the employee from infotype 8 and assigning it to pa0045-dabrt(loan amount)field in infotype 45. But the problem is the loan amount field in 45 infotype is of the type currency(13 characters) and if i assign a value 2000 to the field its displaying as 20,000,000.00. That is the value is being multiplied by 10000 and is displayed. When i tried to divided the value by 10000 and pass it, for odd numbers its not working.Can Some one provide the solution for this problem.

Try using simple Formula at field level insted of field routine.
there is IF( <condition>, <result when true>, <result when false> ) option avaialble in formula

Problem is that default values are getting set but not for all rows . if there are 4 records then values are set for only first 2 rows and if there are 2 rows then defaults are set for 1st row only.
Same behaviour happens when i do it via form personalization
i couldn't understand the behaviour of WHILE-VALIDATE-RECORD event..
Please provide some suggestion on it. its really urgent.
