Define field in a particular movement type

Hi everyone!
I would just like to know if its possible to define a required field, example the Material Slip field(MTSNR) in a transfer posting transaction but in a particular movement type only like for 303? Because the OMJN defines the field selection for the entire good movement transaction and not particularly for its movement type. While in Settings for Enjoy Transactions -> Settings for MIGO -> Field Selection per Mvt Type, for mvmt type 303, only the fields SGTXT, UMWRK, & WEMPF are only define in here. Is it possible to include the MTSNR here?

Hi avinash!
I already used the OMBW but I can't find the Material Slip (MTSNR) field here in Materials Mngt tab or in the transfer posting tab. Is there any procedure I'm missing to configure that's why the field isn't reflecting in Settings Enjoy transaction??

Make material as a mandatory field for a particular document type in PR

Hi,
Currently we are in SAP 4.6c version. There is a business requirement for making material as a mandatory field for a particular document type of purchase requisition as they don't want the user to raise non material purchase requisition using that document type. The field for material is currently not available in the configuration for Define Screen Layout at Document Level for purchase requisition.
So could you kindly let me know the possible options to prevent user from raising a non material purchase requisition using that document type. If not could you kindly suggest me the user exits available at the time of saving purchase requisition which i could use so that we can write a code to check if the material number is entered or not. If not entered prevent the user from saving the purchase requisitions.
Also it would be helpful if you could let me know how the fields for enjoy transaction (like material,document type) can be made available for selection in the configuration for Defile Screen Layout at Document Level for purchase requisition.
All you help in the solving the above problem is highly appreciated.

Hi,
Check below method works out for you, if you do not want to proceed with any ABAP development.
Have a custom field selection key with Material Description field as "Mandatory" and "Display" in Basic Data, Item selection group.
Assign this to your PR document type which need material as mandatory. With this you are making user to enter material indirectly as mandatory & user will not have an option of entering text which avoids indirect / service procurement.
"Material Group" option won't help as User can have default settings with some value and it updates even in display mode of field.

Field Selection error for movement type and G/L account

I am currently experiencing a field selection error between movement type 601 and G/L account 7140000. The problem field is 'Segment'. This field is set to required for the G/L account, but it is hidden for the movement type 601. This inconsistency causes an error when posting the goods movement. According to business requirement the field must be required for the G/L account, therefore we must make this field optional for the movement type.
However, in configuration the field segment does not appear for the movement type 601. Therefore it can not be changed to optional.
Does anyone know a workaround other than making this field optional for the G/L account because the business requirement is to have this field as required?????

On the Error message detail, system will guide you to the Configuration details for Field settings for Movement type & Account, please get in touch with your FI consultant, to make the Field selection for the account similr to that of your movement type, this is a very common issue.

If u want to restrict movements userwise u can do it with authorization
Use auth object M_MSEG_BMB & M_MSEG_BWA &M_MSEG_LGO .. Here remove the movement type you want to restrict for the user or assign the activity as display only.

Make field selection for 201 Movement type for MB21 t.code

Hello,
I have making reservation through T.code..
In that screen we have entered Movement type 201 in MB21 t.code ,,it will show me two fileds
G/L Account filed and Cost center..
In that Cost center field is mandatory.....User told me to do the G/L account filed mandatory... how to do this....
In filed selection there is only one fieled is the cost center....then there is no filed for G/L Account.

For G/L account mandatory ..in 201 Movement type.
Go to Spro-Inv ManagementGoods issuse/Transfer PostingSet manual account assignment---and Give + sign Infront of movment type 201.
It will make the field G/L Account in MB21 201 movement type

Field Selection for 543 Movement type

Hi Experts,
While Posting Goods Receipt against Sub contract PO to receive the Processed Material (FG/SFG) by 101 from Job Worker,system automatically will trigger the Raw which needs to Consume by 543 mvt type.
Users are overwritting the Raw Material Qty Which actually needs to be Consume at time of Posting GR. So Business wants to make 543 Qty field as Non-Editable.
Pls let me know any way is there to make 543 Qty field as Non-Editable.

This sounds like your users fool around. This is a case for human ressources then.
Why should a user enter a different value for 543 ?
My users do this if they have knowledge (paperwork) that the subcontractor issued less or more than the proposed quantity from the BOM (I am in the chemical business, this can happen)
Educate your users or understand why the skilled users do it different tahn you expect.

Field Selection Based on Material Type

Hello!!
Can any one tell me how to make a single field mandatory in material master based on material type?
I know we can use OMS9 to make it mandatory... the field i was looking is in a field selection group....when i make it mandatory i am actually making all the fields in the field selection group as mandatory...i dont want to do that...i just want to make only one field as mandatory.....
If some one has any kind of training documents...could you please send it across?

User Defined Field with Link Type

Hi,
I am trying to create a user defined field to allow users to attach word documents to Item Master Data.
I have successfully created a User Defined Field under master data with Type: Data, Structure: Link.
It appears in the Item Master Data as I would expect. My questions relates to how to use this field. The first time I click on the field, a file browser window appears where I can select a file. Once I select the file I want I click ok and the path to this file appears in the field. The next time that I click on the field the file will open in its respective application.
My question is: How when the field already contains a path to a file do I change this path so it points to a different file.
Any help I can get on this would be greatly appreciated.

If you hold down Ctrl on your keyboard and then double click in the link it will allow you to browse to a different file.

I need following field update in Table GLPCA for movement type 633 (Consignment Issue):
KDAUF : sale document no.
KDPOS : Order Line Otem
BWART : Movement Type
The same fields are updated for movement type 601 (Standard order). Also I checked with Table MSEG and find the same as above.

Try this path as SPRO-Materials Management-Inventory management and physical inventory-settings for enjoy transactions-settings for goods movement(MIGO)--field selection per movement type.
If you add the field LICHA for movt 511.Make it optional or required entry whatever you want. It will come at the time of MIGO.

Define Reservation Movement Type - 281Q

Hi Experts,
We're trying to find a way that during creation of Material Reservations from PS, it can already be defined if the Stock should be coming from Plant Stock or Project Stock.
Is there a standard way (or even an Exit) to define during Resrvation creation that Movement Type be 281Q (GI for Network from Project Stock)?

However the default WBSE for the source of the Project Stock is always its Superior WBSE. We were on the procedure that it will come from another WBSE outside its tree.

Creation of new movement type for Goods Receipt

Is it possible to create a new movement type same as 101 (goods receipt)? We need to create a separate movement type of 101 for the purpose of separating G/L account to be used for local and importation purchases. Or is there any other way to separate the G/L account for GR of local and importation purchases without creating a new movement type?

You can create new Mvt type by copying Mvt type in OMJJ trxn ..
Please follow the following steps
Check whether you can use the preset movement types.
If not, define new movement types as follows:
1. Once you have carried out the activity, the system displays a dialog
    box for field selection. In this, you can restrict the movement
    types you work with to various fields. To copy a movement type,
    select the field Movement type and choose Continue. The dialog box
    Define work area appears.
2. In the dialog box Define work area, enter the movement type you want
    to copy in the From: field. In the To: field, enter the name of the
    new movement type you want to create. To go to the overview of the
    selected movement types, choose Continue.
3. Select the movement type you want to copy, and choose Edit -> Copy
    as.
    Overwrite the selected movement type with the new movement type
    (beginning with 9, X, Y, or Z) and copy all dependent entries.
    The system copies all control indicators from the reference movement
    type to the new movement type.
4. Check all views for the new movement type and, if necessary, change
    the control indicators. Please note that some views have a detail
    screen.
5. Copy the reversal movement type and enter it in the view
    Reversal/follow-on movement types.
6. Save your settings.

Authorization of movement types

Dear All,
I want to restrict users for Movement type, Material type wise.
As per requirement ROH materials will pass through the 103,105 (quality check cycle) during procurement.
For HIBE material quality check (103,105) is not required. GRN will be done through 101.
Problem is - The same person is to be authorize for the above scenarios.
With u201CM_MSEG_BWE -Goods Receipt for Purchase Order: Movement Type objectu201D we can authorize user for particular movement type. But how to do this for the above case.

Hi,
You can make the quality managenet view active for the material for which you want to do quality check, maitain this field in material master for ROH material , and dont make this field for other materials select the check box post to quality inspection in the QM view in material master, then you can do all GR with movment type 101, but the materials for which you have maintain QM view will get post to quality stock.
