Defining concurrent programs

I have a concurrent program that allows (among other things) a date and a text field. I know how to make either or both of these required but how can I require at least one of the two (either/or, not and)?
Thanks!

Short of putting the logic in your concurrent program to fail when neither or both parameters are entered (not always possible, but at least an option with custom concurrent programs), the only other way I know to do this sort of check would be to use a Value Set type Special - getting a PL/SQL block to raise an error when both are null or both are not null.
See How to enable/disable a concurrent program DATE parameter depending for an example of how to do a Special value set that checks a condition in PL/SQL and raises an error where it is not met.

  • Help with Defining a new Concurrent Program using Parameters

    I wrote a very simple sql script and I want to register it as an Oracle Concurrent Program. I included a parameter field in the sql script to allow the entry of value to determine the number of days prior for the script. The script runs successfully in SQL*Plus, but when I try to register it as an Oracle Concurrent Program I get the following errors below:
    This works in SQL* PLUS
    SELECT emp_id, amount
    FROM tblSalaries
    WHERE hire_date > SYSDATE-&Days;
    Enter value for Days: 7
    old    3: hire_date > SYSDATE-&Days
    new  3: hire_date > SYSDATE-7
    And it provides my results....Although when I register this as a concurrent program and assign the parameter in the setup, and run the concurrent program and enter the number in the parameter field, the job completes in ERROR with the following:
    Enter value for Days: EXEC FND_CONC_STAT.COLLECT;
    hire_date > SYSDATE-EXEC FND_CONC_STAT.COLLECT; and
    ERROR at line 3:
    ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended If I put single quotes around '&Days', in line 3, I get a different error:
    ERROR at line 3:
    ORA-01722: invalid number Do you know what could be the problem?

  • Java Concurrent Program issue

    Hello,
    I am fairly new the Java Concurrent Programs concept. I was just trying a simple Hello World example but I cannot seem to run it from the operating system. Here is my Hello World java program I created using Jdeveloper:
    package oracle.apps.fnd.cp.request;
    public class Hello implements JavaConcurrentProgram {
    public static final String RCS_ID = "$Header$";
    public void runProgram(CpContext ctx) {
    ctx.getLogFile().writeln("-- Hello World! --", 0);
    ctx.getOutFile().writeln("-- Hello World! --");
    ctx.getReqCompletion().setCompletion(ReqCompletion.NORMAL, "");
    It compiles fine in Jdev generating the class file. Here is what I did :
    1) Created directory under $JAVA_TOP as follows :
    mkdir $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/fnd/cp/sample
    2) moved the Hello.java file there under sample directory
    3) compiled java file using avac $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/fnd/cp/sample/Hello.java ( It compiles fine generating the class file )
    4) Now I wanted to test running it : I tried using jre command first as I saw in other posts but this is not working :
    jre -Ddbcfile=$FND_TOP/secure/k021kp-6180_r115dev1.dbc -Drequest.outfile=/export/home/sqadri/outfile oracle.apps.fnd.cp.request.Run oracle.apps.fnd.cp.sample.Hello
    Error :
    ksh: jre: not found
    Then I tried using the other way I saw on posts which is using the java command :
    java -cp $AF_CLASSPATH -Ddbcfile=$FND_TOP/secure/k021kp-6180_r115dev1.dbc -Drequest.outfile=/export/home/sqadri/outfile oracle.apps.fnd.cp.request.Run oracle.apps.fnd.cp.sample.Hello
    This gives me the following error :

    Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong ? I have tried everything even tried ftp the class file from my local but I get the same error. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Ajay,
    Yes you are right. I did not register my java program yet in the concurrent programs.
    I thought I could test it out from the operating system command line before registering it. But looking at your document you sent me it seems I have to do all the steps i.e. define concurrent program etc before I can test it from the operating system. If that's the case then what's the use of trying to test it via operating system using
    java -cp $AF_CLASSPATH -Ddbcfile=$FND_TOP/secure/k021kp-6180_r115dev1.dbc -Drequest.outfile=/export/home/sqadri/outfile oracle.apps.fnd.cp.request.Run oracle.apps.fnd.cp.sample.Hello
    Thanks

  • Current date parameter in concurrent program is not not taking current date

    Hi All,
    I have scheduled one concurrent request running very day @21:30 ,one of the parameter passed is current date ,which defined as default value at the time of defining concurrent program.Surprisingly its taking next day date as parameter.Can someone help me resolving this issue.
    From where this current date is taken.
    When I am logged in unix as oracle user and executing following query I am getting follwoing results
    SQL> alter session set nls_date_format='MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI:SS';
    Session altered.
    SQL> select current_date from dual;
    CURRENT_DATE
    05/25/2010 07:40:11
    SQL> select sysdate from dual;
    SYSDATE
    05/25/2010 07:40:20
    date
    Tue May 25 07:40:35 SAUST 2010
    When I logged in unix as applmgr user:
    SQL> select current_date from dual;
    CURRENT_DATE
    05/25/2010 04:41:17
    SQL> select sysdate from dual;
    SYSDATE
    05/25/2010 07:41:19
    date
    Tue May 25 07:41:04 SAUST 2010
    Unix level date is correct and sysdate is also correct in both cases.
    But current_date when logged in s applmgr user is wrong,is this reason for the issue.
    If so how can I change it

  • Font 3 of 9 is not comming in default concurrent program submition

    HI All,
    i am using font free 30of9 to print barcodes in XML PDF output reports in oracle applications
    everything is working fine.
    issue is when i give printer name while sub-meeting the concurrent request it is printing the report with out barcode and concurrent request is completed normal when i open the request output it showing the barcode .
    in pdf file of that request.
    steps i fallowed
    defined concurrent program with output XML printing style pdf publisher
    2)created the font mappings
    3)created template and data definition .
    Process
    When we submit the concurrent request we can select the printer name so that output will directly prints
    its printing the report with out barcode
    Kindly help me how get it done
    Sandeep.Y

    I think there's issues with that Barcode TrueType font and Java.
    You can try a Java app (such as the sample demo app that comes with Java) and try viewing that font.
    You'd need to use a different barcode font.

  • Issue in getting output through concurrent program

    Hi,
    I have developed a procedure and registered in APPS and passing 2 parameters.
    while running the concurrent program i have entered values for 2 parameters and submitted.. but it is going as null (log file) and i am not getting output.
    This procedure is working fine in Back End.
    Please help me to fix it.
    What could be the issue...
    Thanks
    Winsky.

    Hi,
    stored procedures MUST be coded with errbuf and retcode OUT parameters
    which MUST be defined as first parameters of your procedure if you want to
    use the procedure as concurrent request.
    errbuf parameter comes first, retcode comes second, then the rest of your
    parameters.
    Populate retcode with 0 if logic within your procedure completes successful,
    use 2 if the program ran into an exception (either a logic exception or when
    an unexpected error should occurr) and use 1 for retcode, if your logic
    should indicate a warning such as "no data found for processing" or something
    like this.
    When defining concurrent program in sysadmin responsibility do NOT define
    parameters for errbuf and retcode, only for the rest of your parameters.
    That's all - in short.

  • Help required for Concurrent program parameters

    Hi All,
    I have a Concurrent program which has the following set of parameters.
    From Project Number
    To Project Number
    From Org
    To Org
    We dont want to make any of these mandatory, but we have a condition that either of the two sets must be entered i.e. before submitting we have to validate that either From Project Number/To Project Number parameter set is populated or From Org/To Org parameter set is populated.
    If someone could help me with this it would be a great help.

  • Sqlplus concurrent programs

    Hi,
    I already learned how to register an Oracle Report to the concurrent program.
    How do I register an sqlplus program in EBS concurrent program?
    Thanks a lot

    If you want to find out the concurrent program name for this “GLXRLACF.sql”
    Do the following steps.
    Go to define executables window from system administrator responsibility.
    Go to enter query mode
    Enter “GLXRLACF” into file name field and then execute the query.
    You will get the short name of the executable
    Then
    You open define concurrent program window
    Go to enter query mode
    Type above name into executable name field
    Execute the query
    You will get concurrent program name.
    I hope this will help you.

    Please amke the second Value set as Table Validated value set, and use :$FLEX$.<Prior_Value_Set_Name>.OUTPUT = 'A', where :$FLEX$.<Prior_Value_Set_Name>.OUTPUT returns the value returned by the previous value set.

    Well - it shouldn't, but that doesn't mean that it won't make any difference :)
    If only one method doesn't work (and I must admit that I never use the concurrent program if I can avoid it), then the problem lies with the concurrent program. If none of the methods work, then there is a different problem.
    If you can deploy to one environment but not to another then I would also look at the differences between environments - patches, init.ora settings, profile options etc. to see where the difference lies.

  • How to select multiple values from the Parameters in the concurrent program

    How to select multiple values from the Parameters defined in the concurrent program...and i believe multiple selection is not a direct feature of EBS, but is there any workaround solution to acheive mulitple selection?

    I think there's no way to do that using standard feature.
    Some workaround I use :
    1. If the number of selections are fixed, you could use multiple parameters for the same valueset. For example :
    Selection1 : <choose first selection>
    Selection2: <choose 2nd selection>
    ..etc.
    If you don't use it then leave it empty.
    2. Use text varchar valueset and enter it manually and separate by comma (or other value) , eg : selection1,selection2,selection3....etc.
