I feel silly asking this, as it has to be a simple thing to do, but I don't see it anywhere in the documentation. How do I delete a page from an InDesign document using VB?

InDesign CS6 on Windows XP. Can't delete selected page?
When i select a page to delete it fails to do so. Instead a random page is deleted. I tried deleting page content first and then deleting the page but the page remains and the content returns. I SAVED and CLOSED after deleting the content, WITHOUT deleting the page, and when i reopen the document and then try to delete the page it still does'nt delete and the content still returns??
The same thing is happening with all my documents - originally created in CS2.
Tried reinstalling - any other ideas anyone?
Thanks.Does this page contain threaded text? When you delete a page with threaded text the text reflows to fill the remaining pages and will go into overset at the end of the story. If Smart Text Reflow is also enabled, it could be adding the page back again to hold the text.

I highlight the page and hit delete. It will go away at that moment but as soon as I type "w" on a new search it will pull the download page with the supposed to be deleted address.
Do those websites have a yellow star at the far right?
If they have a yellow star then that are bookmarks. You can open such a bookmark in a tab and click the yellow star to open the "Edit This Bookmark" dialog and click the Remove button. -
Can not take a screenshot with Maverick and track pad. can not use apple chat to talk with a tech. there are other issues also like I used to be able to go back a page with the delete button. No Maverick PDF to instruct on how to use Maverick
THE use of the apple support is a mess also.
I want to be able to use my MAC fully and easily like I used to with Snow Leopard.
What is wrong with this maverick OS?The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ... -
Really having problems with organising documents in pages. For example, deleting pages deletes the whole section and I cannot insert a section break as its greyed out & sending an object to background deletes several pages and trying to insert a text box autmatically creates new pages- what the **** is going on??? Is this programme really this badly thought out? I thought everything apple was supposed to be intuitive!?!?!? Help.
You can not insert a section break into a textbox.
You appear to have a lot of objects with wrap set, that once you take them out of the flow of text (by sending them to the background) causes the text to reflow and contract into fewer pages. Pages is almost unique in the way it forms up pages in Word Processing mode only so long as there is text on them.
I suspect you probably have hammered away at returns, spaces and tabs as well to position things, which only works to add to the mess.
Download the Pages09_UserGuide.pdf available under the Help menu and swot up a bit on how it works.

PS There is quite a lot of programming in OSX that is far from "intuitive". Pages is easy at one level, when using the templates, otherwise it can be quite frustrating. -
hello, is there a way to make a word processing document in pages with !" inch margins? i ask this because there is a box where you can write text and the you start your document, but it takes more than 1 inch from the top, can that box be removed? and why whatever you write in the box appears in every page of the paper? is there a way to avoid this? sorry I do not use computers very often and i just want to write an essay for my english clss, thanks for your help.
The box is called Headers and is used for thing that will be repeated on several pages like page numbering and names etc.. You can uncheck it in the Inspector > Document tab

Preview app issue with deleting PDF pages

I'm hoping that someone else has encountered or can replicate this issue. If I have a PDF file open in preview and I select multiple pages to delete (using command-click) and the pages are not all sequential it seems like the incorrect pages get deleted. When I undo this deletion the pages are not properly restored. Deleting single pages or multiple sequential pages works just fine.
So, let's say I have a 10 page PDF file and I want to delete pages 2, 3, and 8. I cmd-Click on each of 2, 3, and 8 and then cmd-Delete (or delete via the Edit menu). The pages are not properly deleted.
Can anyone else replicate this?

I'm trying to delete specific pages in a pdf document but I get the message "bad parameters" on some of them (not all). What does that mean & how do I get past that to delete the page?
My bad, this was not Adobe Reader - employee was just in an Adobe document which we edit/delete all the time but in this particular document she got the "bad parameter" message on certain pages.

Page numbers from MS Word cannot be deleted in pages
A colleague sent me a MSWord (Mac) document that I opened in pages 09 and started working on it. I need to delete the page numbers that were put in on the MSWord document. I guess they were put in using the automatic page numbering feature in Word. However, In the Pages09 document they are not in the usual footer location. It almost looks like they are part of the page background. They are not selectable and cannot be removed. It I choose to add page numbers using Pages, they numbers appear in the usual footer location—in addition to and not supplanting– the unselectable page numbers brought over from MSWord. Does anybody know a solution to this?

The persistent content usually is a Master Object. So, you were right to begin with: Format > Advanced > Make Master Objects Selectable. One would think that if this is always the solution, it would be a simple matter to now select the tenacious item and delete it. The problem is that sometimes the object while now selectable is still not accessible.
This Master Object can hide behind the Header box, as though the Header was a solid glass wall. Deselecting the Header function, in the Document Inspector, will give you access, but it will also irretrievably delete your Header Content. A better way, I have found, is to change the header Margin figure in the Document Margins Pane of the Document Inspector.
Once you have moved the Header, Footer, or whatever else might be sharing the space, off the persistent page number, you can click on the page number Object and hit Delete. Now you can put back whatever you had to move, and you should be good to go. Consider yourself lucky if your Pages header doesn't fall over the old Word Header.

You can create your own tabular form using APEX_ITEM API's
Create report and you can put similar code to following
SELECT APEX_ITEM.TEXT(1,col1) pk1, APEX_ITEM.TEXT(2,col2) pk2 FROM your_tableSo data will be displayed in TEXT boxes as if it's a tabular form. Now you need to handle INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE processes manually. You can easily handle INSERT and DELETE. But handling UPDATE can be a nightmare. What if user has updated both the column values?

One way out would be to use ROWID as Primary key to handle DELETE and UPDATE

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

In the new Pages 5.0 I can't delete a page.
Hi have found the solution. You need go into the View menu and make sure that you have checked the Show Invisibles option. Once you can see the invisibles, you should see a blue line at the top of the "blank" page with a small "document" icon at the right of the line. You need to delete this blue line/icon which will delete the whole page as long as there are no other "invisible items" which may also need to be deleted.
I did the above and my blank page disappeared from the thumbnails view immediately.
