Delete Social Security number and date of birth upon submit.

I have created a fillable form in LiveCycle Deseigner ES (version 8.2) for our Store Managers to use - to fill in new hire information to submit to our Corporate Office.  At the bottom of the form I have 2 buttons - a Print button and a Submit button.  We would like them to fill out the form with all information, including the social security number of the new hire and to use my print button to print the completed form for their records.  That is easy enough.  However, what I am being asked to do with the submit button is kind of complicated.  I am being asked to program the submit button so that it deletes the social security number completely before the send so that we are not e-mailing a completed .pdf form with a social security number on it.  How can I accomplish this?  If it requires inserting programming code on the XML source tab of LiveCycle Deseigner ES, I will need specifics.    Thanks!

Thanks!  Your answer was very helpful and I found it to be 99.9% correct.  However, it ended up that I needed to attach that code to my SSN field and not my Submit button.  So, in my case, this is what it looks like when I click on my SSN field after I added the code:
topmostSubform.Page1.SSN::preSubmit:form - (JavaScript, client)
SSN.rawValue = "";
I did the same thing for my date of birth (DOB) field:
topmostSubform.Page1.DOB::preSubmit:form - (JavaScript, client)
DOB.rawValue = "";
I tested the form after the changes and it worked great.
You are a life saver.  Thanks again!

  • Security is there any time when Adobe would write and request my Social security number to verify an account?

    A friend of mine had a problem with his Adobe CC account id info.  In conversation with Adobe they asked to verify his home address.  He got confused and gave them an old home address, they did verify the account anyway, but shortly after he received an email from Adobe asking him to provide his government issued id number...I believe that is UK for social security number.  Anyone know how we can confirm if this was a legitimate request from Adobe?

    Adobe has no need for that information, and you should never share it if in question. He may have talked with someone who was posing as Adobe. How did he converse with Adobe?

    Hi! I'm from Russia and i want to buy the new unlocked iPhone 4S in the U.S. in November, but i need to know, am i need this doc's?
    What to Bring with You
    Your old mobile phone, if you’re replacing it.
    Social Security number of the account holder.
    Valid government-issued photo ID.
    Carrier account password, if you have one.
    Your Apple ID and password.

    According to Apple's list (link above) you will probably want to pick up a Sprint or US Cellular model. HOWEVER, as I mentioned above I know that the Verizon iPhones come unlocked from the factory (assuming it will be the same for iPhone 6 and 6+). I DO NOT KNOW if the Sprint and US Cellular models come unlocked. But I am sure some quick internet research will lead you to the answer.
    I think your goal would be to get a Sprint or US Cellular version. Also I believe a law was just recently passed that allows someone to have a phone unlocked by the carrier no questions asked. So even if the Sprint and US Cellular iPhones are locked you can have them unlocked.

  • Social Security Number Field Qs.

    I generally work more on the graphics/layout end of Adobe products, primarily with Photoshop and InDesign... But my boss decided I need to redo all our old forms by redesigning them in Adobe LiveCycle 7.1.  I have a field where the end user will be required to input a Social Security Number.  Our end users are... not tech savvy, to say the least, and because the old forms already have the dashes that go between the numbers (999-99-9999) before the end user clicks into the field, they have to remain like that on the new forms I am creating.
    In the "Value" tab, in the "Object" pallete, I am able to enter a Default Value but when I preview the form and attempt to enter data, the default text (blank spaces and dashes) do not disappear.  Is there a way to make this work, without scripting?  I know nothing about scripting so I don't know the first place to start to even attempt to write one.  If scripting is the only way, does anyone have a script you can post to me, or a URL I can go to, to read up on HOW to do it?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance!!

    I'm sorry I've taken so long to reply!
    In LiveCycle Designer 7, in the Library, under the Custom tab, there is a SSN element that is pre-formatted.  The problem is, the people I am designing the form for, want the dashes to be in the box before the end user selects the box to type the SSN in.  Once the box is selected, the dashes should remain, and the end user will type in the SSN and the cursor will simply skip over the dashes to continue filling the field.
    I'm attaching what I have... I'm starting to think they just won't get what they're asking for.

  • Social Security number OR company org number...

    Need help with one Acrobat field -
    need to crave the format
    yyyymmdd-nnnn
    or
    yymmdd-nnnn
    in the same field...
    so that the user could write either of this examples
    19640628-5103 or 640628-5103...
    Also it should be possible to write 560000-0000 -
    that is the format nnnnnn-nnnn or nnnnnnnn-nnnn
    The field asks for either social security number or Companys org number.
    Please help me - I´m in a big hurry!
    ps - also how can I make a field to crave only LETTERS (A-Z) and not Numbers (0-9).
    The field already have a nice little script that changes the users input to UPPERCASE -
    so that if the user writes abs - the output is ABS :-)
    Unfortunally  it is now possible to write AB8 or some other combination of letters and numbers...
    If it not possible to combine this little script I´ll take that away...

  • HR Auth: Social Security Number

    Hi!
    Social Security number is listed among other information in InfoType 0002. Can you set authorizations so that the user would see all other information of IT 0002 exept the Social Security Number? I.e how to rule out the users visibility to Social Security Number?

    Hi,
    As far as I know, as you mentioned, the control of these information belongs to the infotypes. The infotypes are primarly authorized by the objecto PLOG (with the fields INFOTYP and SUBTYP).
    You need to check the role with you are looking to restrict the access to these information and accesss the values of infotypes and subtypes of the information of HR wich you like to have access.
    Usually, when you add a Tx wich involve PLOG object, it adds full authorization ("*" in almost all fields), that's why you need to get in the role and change these values.
    Ask your HR consultant and the HR department of your company, about the information allowed to see and the values of infotypes/subtypes.
    Reward points if found helpful....
    Cheers,
    Venkoji Babu.

  • Fastest Way to Delete a large number of data

    I m trying to delete a large number of Data
    this Proc will be running every day without disturbing the other Process
    SET sql = 'DELETE TOP (100) FROM ' + @TableName + ' WHERE Id IN (Select Distinct Id FROM [state] WHERE ToDel = 1)'SET @Deleted_Rows = 1;SET @Rows = 0; WHILE (@Deleted_Rows > 0)BEGIN BEGIN TRANEXEC sp_executesql @sql SET @Deleted_Rows = (SELECT @@ROWCOUNT);SET @Rows = (@Rows + @Deleted_Rows);COMMIT TRANWaitFor DELAY '00:00:00:01' END
    Have you any Idea how can I optimize my Query ?
    Thank you very much

    Hi, following are few thoughts.
    1. If you can manage without dynamic sql then it may yield better performance as except table name there is no need for it as per your query.
    2. Ensure indexes are in place.
    3. If the table in question is not participant in replication then you may slightly go for higher batch size and again it depends on volume.
    Please take a look at the tweaked code.
    declare @Deleted_Rows int, @Rows int;
    SET @Deleted_Rows = 1;
    SET @Rows = 0;
    WHILE (@Deleted_Rows > 0)
    BEGIN
    BEGIN TRAN;
    DELETE TOP (100) t1
    FROM
    tabName as t1
    WHERE exists (Select * FROM [state] as t2 WHERE t2.ToDel = 1 and t2.Id = t1.id);
    SET @Deleted_Rows = @@ROWCOUNT ;
    SET @Rows = @Rows + @Deleted_Rows;
    COMMIT TRAN;
    WaitFor DELAY '00:00:00:01';
    END
    Print 'Total rows deleted : '+convert(varchar(50), @Rows);

  • Mask Social Security number (National Identifier) SSN in SSHR

    Hello folks,
    I am working on an issue with the online payslip. We need to have the ability to hide or mask part of the social security number (national identifier), to comply with California regulatory requirements.
    <ul><li>What is shown: 999-55-0001</li>
    <li>What we need it to look like: xxx-xx-0001</li>
    </ul>
    The same goes for employee number, if longer than 4 characters. Can anyone assist?
    Please note, the profile HR: National Identifier Validation, does not apply to this issue.
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hello Thierry,
    I did log an SR, but the response was that nothing specific was going to be developed for that legislation, since they believe a personalization (hiding the SSN) will address the requirement. I was hoping that we could do this in the same way that bank accounts are masked in Payment Methods.
    We have reviewed the California labor codes again and we believe we can just hide it by personalizations. We just need to make sure that SSN is not required for our other jurisdictions, otherwise we are back to the beginning.
    Thanks for all your help!

  • New Social Security number format?

    Just checking with CISCO on the new social security number format that is going into place on June 25th.
    Is Cisco/IronPort on top of this?
    Will the Smart Tag content filter catch the new numbers?

    I have faith in big IronPort, don't let me down...

    Hi Jason,
    Our engineering is aware of this change but unfortunately at this point we dont have a definite timeline for a patch. Hopefully we will be able to implement it soon.
    In the mean time, we have to take help of regex and provide workaround.

  • How can i redact or cover a line or letters or numbers, such as a social security number from a pdf so no one else can uncover it

    How can a line or letters or numbers, such as a social security number, be redacted or covered in a pdf so no one else can uncover it?  If its covered with an annotation in Preview, some one else can uncover it after its emailed.

    Why not just get them to Typex it out on the screen then? :-P
    Meanwhile:
    Use a white hilight over the text (black leaves an outline)

    not able to convert string attribute to number and date attribute. While using string to date conversion it shows result as failure.As I am reading from a text file. please help me out

    Hi,
    You need to provide an example value that's failing and the date formats in the reference data you're using. It's more than likely you don't have the correct format in your ref data.

  • Dbms_crypto package for number and date data type

    Hi,
    I am using Oracle 10g 10.2.0.3 on Linux 64 bit
    I am tryiing to use dbms_crypto package for the first time to encypt my tables column
    Following are my table columns
    NAME1 VARCHAR2(2000),
    ID1 NUMBER,
    SCORE number
    This table is already populated
    i want to encrypt Name1 and Score column. Following are the functions i have created for Encryption and decryption.
    --For Encryption
    create or replace function get_enc_val
    p_in in varchar2,
    p_key in raw
    return raw is
    l_enc_val raw (2000);
    l_mod number := dbms_crypto.ENCRYPT_AES128
    + dbms_crypto.CHAIN_CBC
    + dbms_crypto.PAD_PKCS5;
    begin
    l_enc_val := dbms_crypto.encrypt
    UTL_I18N.STRING_TO_RAW
    (p_in, 'AL32UTF8'),
    l_mod,
    p_key
    return l_enc_val;
    end;
    --For Decryption
    create or replace function get_dec_val
    p_in in raw,
    p_key in raw
    return varchar2
    is
    l_ret varchar2 (2000);
    l_dec_val raw (2000);
    l_mod number := dbms_crypto.ENCRYPT_AES128
    + dbms_crypto.CHAIN_CBC
    + dbms_crypto.PAD_PKCS5;
    begin
    l_dec_val := dbms_crypto.decrypt
    p_in,
    l_mod,
    p_key
    l_ret:= UTL_I18N.RAW_TO_CHAR
    (l_dec_val, 'AL32UTF8');
    return l_ret;
    end;
    Key: I have stored a key in other schema and calling it by using function get_key().
    Following is my insert
    INSERT INTO Score_table VALUES
    (get_enc_val('John',get_key()),25,get_enc_val(79,get_key()))
    it is giving me following error
    ORA-00932:Inconsistent Datatypes:Expected number got binary.
    I checked, it is an error due to Score field, which is of number type. So do i need to change type of Score field to varchar or is there any other way to encrypt number and date field.
    If i need to change the type then what will happen to the data already in Table and how do i encrypt data already in table.

    Hi,
    Is there any one who can tell me that, do i need to change my table column data type as the encrypted value will be character.
