Deleted AD Users shown as online in Lync

Hi,
We are observing a strange behavior with Lync 2013 , users that doesn't exist in AD, Exchange , Lync are shown as active/available in Lync/outlook.
Even deleted user accounts are appearing online while searching with complete sip address ex: test@<sipdomain>
Any suggestions how to resolve this?
Regards, Uma Yellapragada

Hi Patnaik,
As you can see in the screenshots provided those IDs are not present in AD at all but still appears to be online.
In the lync client screenshot you can see that it's just a fake ID [email protected] but still shows online in Lync.
In the 2nd screenshot, from ID is just written in the script for alert notifications and not present in AD, but still Lync shows as online.
For those of deleted users, they were deleted from AD long back more than 1-2 months , but still shows online in Lync
Executed update-csaddressbook couple of times,
but still it is the same. Any other suggestions to get this resolved?
Regards, Uma Yellapragada

we have a long list of disabled/deleted users in AD
Somehow, they are still appeared as active user in Sharepoint Online.
How do we get rid of those list?
    Hope you can advice. Thanks.

SharePoint does not remove users from SharePoint permissions just because they were deleted/disabled in AD. This is to maintain referential integrity. In fact, when you delete a user from SharePoint, that user remains in the SharePoint content database,
    just marked as deleted.
They do not have access to SharePoint given their account is deleted/disabled. But as far as automatically managing this, I'm not aware of a tool. On-prem there is Metalogix ControlPoint which does a great job of this, I haven't explored the O365 options.

  • How do I create a new user, move my old files etc over, and delete old user

This is why I think I need to.
My computer got hit by lightening, and I may have created a new user account through netinfo rather than system preferences /accounts/+user. Mail used to open twice, but no longer. Now, Safari askes me for my keychain password twice, Spotlight can't find a folder on the computer when the search is restricted to folder and computer, though the folder is there and easyfind finds it, and when System Preferences/Spotlight/Privacy has the hard drive icon added, then deleted, Spotlight still does not find anything. (Yes, everything is backed up, on CD, DVD, and online.) Microsoft Tec Support says
"Here is a summary of the key points of the case for your records.
When you contacted us on August 8, you had requested assistance with Microsoft Office 2004, as your installation of the updates was unable to find the correct version of the software to update. After creating a New MAC User, we identified the issue to be with a corrupt MAC User account, and not a Microsoft issue. "
I believe Microsoft. So, creating a new user was easy.
But copying files uses up too much hard drive (movies, music), and may miss keychains, preferences, mail, address book, and documents. Since Spotlight no longer works, who knows what is happening. (Yes, I've repaired persmissions, and disk repair. No change). I'm using up my hard drive trying to move files to the new user. If I share files, or put them into a public folder, then delete the old user, will I still have the old user's files in the new user's account? It is not clear to me what I should be trying to do in order to create a new user, move my old files etc over, and delete old user. Thanks.
My responses will be slow, because I have to drive to town to use the internet. I've ordered a new airport which may take care of that problem. SO be patient.

    Hey -
I need to do the EXACT same thing, but have no idea how. Has anyone out there done this?
My situation is a tad different..this is a new Mac (and I'm a brand new Mac user). Tons of querks occur under my original account (videos won't run, Safari won't support certain plug-ins). I spent 6 hours on the phone w/ 4 different Apple Reps and nobody could fix it. A rep finally looked at my MacBook Pro in person today. He created a new account just to see if that would work and under that new account, everything works perfectly fine (no querks, can view video). He tried switching a million settings in my original account to no avail.
He said to create a new account (as he did) and move my files over to the new account and then go back to the original and delete it. How do you do this?! I can't figure it out! I've got a new account created, but of course it just has the default folders in it w/ the little red icons next to them! Thanks in advance!

  • Best Practice for Deleted AD Users

In our environment, we are not using AD groups. Users are being added individually. We are running User Profile Service but I am aware that when a user is deleted in AD, they stay in the content database in the UserInfo table so that some metadata can be
    retained (created by/modified by/etc).
What are best practices for whether or not to get rid of them from the content database(s)?
What do some of you consultants/admins out there do about this? It was brought up as a concern to me that they are still being seen in some list permissions/people picker, etc.
    Thank you!

Personally I would keep them to maintain metadata consistency (Created By etc as you say). I've not had it raised as a concern anywhere I've worked.
However, there are heaps of resources online to delete such users (even in bulk via Powershell). As such, I am unaware of cases of deleting them causing major problems.

  • Deleting portal users using APIs

    Hi
We are deleting users from portal through a java class using
JBDC( using prepareCall and executeUpdate) . We can successfully
delete the user from the login server using the procedure
    PORTAL30_SSO.WWSSO_API_USER_ADMIN.DELETE_USER(). However, when
we try to delete the user from portal30 using
    PORTAL30.WWSEC_API.DELETE_PORTAL_USER()
    we get the following errors
    ERROR at line 1:

We can run the delete_portal_user procedure successfully as
portal30(the owner of the portal30 schema). But when we try to
delete a user as another dba user, we get the error shown above.
This user has full sysdba priveleges on the portal30 schema. The
workaround is to create another database connection in the Java
class for the portal30 user. However they prefer to run it
as the dba who have created the user but not as portal30.
I checked in the JPDK documentation but there is no API to delete

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

It looks like that in Apex 4.2, app 4350, page 57 (delete multiple users), all users are displayed as "workspace administrators", but they are not, in page 55 they are shown with the correct user type.
I verified that in Apex 4.1.1 this page was displaying correctly, so it's a bug of 4.2.

    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Rajesh.

    Hello Rajesh
A quick view into the documentation of IMPORTING parameter I_CALLBACK_USER_COMMAND would have answered your question:
Within the USER_COMMAND callback routine set
    REFRESH = 'X'.  " That's all
    EXIT routine for command handling
       Description
Passing an EXIT routine indicates to the ALV that the application wants
to respond to certain function codes.
Generally, these are function codes that are unknown to the ALV (that
is, are not standard ALV functions) and that were defined and set by a
         user status.
See also the documentation on parameter  I_CALLBACK_PF_STATUS_SET.
The interface of the form routine specified must be defined as follows:
                 FORM user_command  USING r_ucomm LIKE sy-ucomm
                                          rs_selfield TYPE slis_selfield.
Parameter R_UCOMM contains the function code triggered.
Structure RS_SELFIELD contains the following information:
o   tabname  : Name of the internal output table
o   tabindex : Index of the internal output table
         o   fieldname: Field name
o   endsum   : Cursor is located on the totals line
o   sumindex : If >0, the cursor is located on a subtotals line
o   value    : Value of the field on the list
o   refresh  : (Exporting) List should be set up again
o   col_stable:(Exporting) Keep column position when list is set up
             again
o   row_stable:(Exporting) Keep row position when list is set up again
o   exit      :(Exporting) Exit list (and ALV)
o   before_action: Call before standard action execution
o   after_action : Call after standard action execution, before list
             setup
         o   ignore_multi : Internal use
         o   sel_tab_field: Internal use
The EXIT routine is called whenever a function unknown to the ALV is
triggered or if the routine call before/after the execution of a
standard function code has been defined by interface parameter
         IT_EVENT_EXIT.
See also the documentation on parameter IT_EVENT_EXIT.
The function code and the current cursor position are then passed on to
the calling program through the EXIT routine.
If the user has selected multiple rows by selecting checkboxes, the
output table field designated as the checkbox contains the current state
of the checkbox in the list.

  • Deleted-recreated user too soon

Hi, I'm using  Active Directory Version: 6.1.7601.17514. I was attempting to create a new user by copying a profile from the same group. I found out too late that the user I copied had her own .bat file and wouldn't be suitable to copy from. I was
advised that it would be safe to delete the new user, then recreate by copying another user's profile from the same group. I deleted the user. Then I recreated the user. It was on the last stage of creating the user when I got a message saying it couldn't
create a folder in the home directory because one already exists. It appears what happened was I didn't give enough time for the domain controllers to sync. It recreated the user account, it accesses folders for groups which it is a member of, but it does
not show a folder for the home directory. Does anyone have any idea for a remedy? I should note two things. I am relatively new to using Active Directory, and I had someone from the network team here advising me while I was proceeding. Thank you for any assistance
    you can provide.

    Hi,
You can try the following cmdlet to test the issue:
    Update-CsUserDatabase
It may also cause by the issue with the user's AD properties. Please open the adsiedit.msc and find the user. Then check the user's properties of Lync server.

  • 9iFS unable to delete lost users

using ifsmgr, I added a user, then deleted the user using the defaults from the ifsmgr. This left the user in the credential manager. I then tried to add the same user back in and got the error that the distinguishing name is not unique. I then tried to find the name so I could delete it, but there seems to be nothing in the ifsmgr to take care of this. I care not update, add, delete, or clean up this user from the GUI.

Found another on the same topic... I brought up the browser from ifsmgr and was deleting users using the browser when I accidentally deleted the home folder. The mouse does not seem to be very accruate! Well with a blink of an eye, the entire home folder disappear and there was no undo. :-( Well I recreated the system folder and then the mail sub folder. Then I went to the user to update the profile, but could not because the mail folder location was empty and greyed out and REQUIRED. Well, I then found that I could update the homefolder with an XML ifsput command so that was good, but the mail folder was still blank. I tried to run the xml ifsput on the mail folder and received the results that the system cannot update that field...readonly... Well I went online to the ifs website and tried to select the system user and received the alert from the client browser (nullpointerexception). I figure it was because of the mail folder that was gone, but was not. I then went to the database table and found the folder IDs for the old mail folder still present in the user email profile. Of course this ID was not available since it was deleted. At this point, We are saddened with our initial test and we are re-installing iFS, painfully. As part of this, we also determined that the guest account is required for the Cup and other servers to start up. If we wanted to desable the guest account, the question is how if it is required to start many of the services?
OK, that was a mouthful, but it really is all related.

  • I want to donate my computer and want to delete my name from the online product registration and the name of my house icon.

There are two final deletions I must make before I give the computer away. How can I delete my name from the online product registration of my computer, and from the house icon?

Hi, Michelle. Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
You can create a new administrator account (System Preferences > Accounts; I'd name it "New User" or the user's name if you know it). Sign out and sign in with the new account. Once you're sure the new account is working okay, you can delete your old account. This removes your name on the house icon (your user account).
Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to get away from the online product registration, but it's never been an issue for me. I've bought several iBooks on eBay and never worried about the product registration. Any time I called in for service under AppleCare, I just told them I bought the iBook on eBay, and it was never questioned further than that.
If you're worried about security, you may want to restore the iBook to like-new condition using the Restore disc(s) that came with the iBook, using the Erase option. Choose the correct link (depending upon which iBook model it is) from the following Apple Knowledge Base article: How to restore your Apple software.

  • How To Properly Delete a User Profile on Windows 7 in a Domain environment

I have not been able to find an answer that matches the issue I'm facing. I had recently setup a laptop for a user and soon after, he was experiencing issues that I thought might be profile related. So, I did what always worked for me on prior versions of
Windows without any fuss or side affects.
Logged in under the local Administrator account, I went into: System Properties>User Profiles>Settings and removed the user profile from their. When I do that, I get an error message:
    Profile Error
Profile not deleted completely. Error - A required privilege is not held by the client
Ok, no problem I think. I just need to delete the user's profile directory under the users folder right? So I do this and figure when I try to log in again as the user that a new profile will be created. However, this is not what happens exactly. I login
with the user credentials and it logs in successfully. However, I get a pop saying:
You have been logged on with a temporary profile
You cannot access your files and files created in this profile will be deleted when you log off. To fix this, log off and try logging on later.
Please see the event log for details or contact your system administrator
So my question is; why did the profile not delete completely after both deleting the user profile under System Properties and after deleting the actual profile directory? What did I miss and what is the proper method of deleting a user profile completely
without running into these other issues?

    Hi Womprat,
According to your description, I understand that you want to delete user profile but display an error in Windows 7.
Please use other user (with administrator privileges) login this computer, then open Properties for Computer--->Advanced system setting--->Settings for User Profiles, then select the profile you want to delete.

    Hello,
I created my users via UME ( User Management Engine of Java Application server). Unfortunately I used the wrong name convention, so I had to recreate all the users in UME. Afterwards I delete all wrong users in UME.
Than I tried to login with my new user in SAP-CPS (users are normally created in SAP-CPS during first login) but I get the error message that I reached the maximum number of 10 users allowed in the basic version. No problem I thougt, I simply delete the wrong ones in SAP-CPS. But I do not know how to delete a user! I could not find any menu item or any describtion in the manualls how to delete an user in SAP-CPS.
I remove the users from any Isolation group, I disabled all the users but still I could not find any way to delete them.
Has any body a hint for mor.

This process does not appear to work for me.  I'm running 10.8.3.  I created a new user for a guest staying with me.  They have gone now and I am attempting to either change the password or delete the user.  It won't allow me to choose the user I created.  I am logged in as myself and it states that I am an "Admin".  The user I'm attempting to change is listed as a "standard" user and there is a white checkmark inside an orange circular background on the user pic in the list of users.
Can someone help me?  I am having a hard time believing that OSx will allow me to create users and allow them use of my computer and it's drives, yet it will not allow me to change the password so I can monitor what they might have been doing while logged on?  What if this were my child?  This guest left under sketchy circumstances, and I'd really like to be able to ensure they were not using my computer to do illegal things or to have illegal communications.
Any help would be appreciated.  (It's odd that it was so simple to "create" a user and set a password for them.......but it's complicated or a little known process to reverse.
    Thanks.

Here are two screen shots to show you what I am seeing.  The first screen shot shows it allowing me to select (highlighted in blue) my admin user (which is what I am locced in as).  The second screen shot shows it allowing me to select the "Guest" user (highlighted in blue).  However when I click on the user "Orion" nothing happens.  It will not change to highlight that user.

  • How can I delete phantom User ID's in quota list?

When I go to the Quotas tab in Server Admin I notice that there are about 40 User ID's (1631, 1632, etc.) listed along with the 150 user names on our Xserve. These User ID's correspond to user accounts that I deleted last year or at the beginning of this school year. They are still listed as having their assigned quotas. However, the accounts do not show up in WorkGroup Manager.
Does anyone know why these accounts are still hanging around after I deleted the users in WGM, and how I can permanently delete them?
This is on a G5 Xserve running Mac OS X Server 10.4.10.
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hi Matt,
After doing some research on the internet I managed to find a solution to the problem. Try executing 'quotacheck -a' from the command line.
Quotacheck validates the file storage data with the quota information used to report quota information. There's some very good information at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/aix/library/au-satdiskmon.html
They also suggest running this automatically using cron -- once a day should be fine.
Quotacheck description taken from the man pages:
+Quotacheck examines each filesystem, builds a table of current disk+
+usage, and compares this table against that recorded in the disk quota+
+file for the filesystem. If any inconsistencies are detected, both the+
+quota file and the current system copy of the incorrect quotas are+
+updated (the latter only occurs if an active filesystem is checked). By+
+default both user and group quotas are checked.+
