  • Validation "is a valid date" does not pass but Apex proceeding anyway

    Hi,
    I have a simple date-item which I validate first against "not null", then for "is a valid date", then that the date is not in the future.
    In debug mode the first validation passes, the second ( is a valid date ) does not pass, but the validation process proceeds anyway...!? Then the third validation "date not in the future" produces ad DB-Error because it is not a valid date.
    Why does the validation proceed even if the validation does not pass...?
    Version 2.2.0
    Juergen

    Juergen,
    "In debug mode the first validation passes, the second ( is a valid date ) does not pass, but the validation process proceeds anyway...!?"
    Do you mean that the third validation is firing even though the second is failing? This behaviour is correct. All validations fire (regardless of any having already failed) unless they have specific conditions set on them to make them act differently.
    If you don't want the third validation to fire if the second has failed then you will need to put a condition on the 3rd validation to prevent this. Alternatively you could bundle all you validations into one of type "PL/SQL returning Error Text" then have some IF...THEN...ELSE logic in your PL/SQL to return the relevant validatoin text depending on what the problem is (i.e. Date is null, date is invalid or date is in the future).

  • IPhoto says it cannot import my photos b/c they may be an unrecognized file or the file may not contain valid data. The operation could not be completed. Error code is: ImageCaptureCoreError-9905.

    Unable to download photos from my camera. iPhoto returns an error message that states: The following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file or the files may not contain valid data). FILE NAME: 100_0490.JPG      REASON: com.apple.ImageCaptureCoreError- 9905.  WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?  Did not have a problem importing photos under the LEOPARD OS, however, now that I have upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.3 the iPHOTO app is not performing the imports.

    Are you using Photos, or iPhoto? Maybe you've got a corrupt file on your camera. I would try using the image capture application to import the bad picture to my desktop. If it works and the picture looks ok,  then delete that pic from the camera, then try to import into iphoto again. You can then import the pic it was saying was bad from your desktop.
    Or, try downloading all the pics using image capture and then import from the download folder.

  • Validating Date

    Hi, I'm trying to validate a Date. I want my code to only get dates in the "dd/MM/yyyy" format, but it's validating dates that only have 2 years digit. What should I do to force the user to set dates with 4 years digit??
    Here's the code:
    try {
    SimpleDateFormat lDateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/MM/yyyy");
    lDateFormat.setLenient(false);
    Date fecha = lDateFormat.parse(strDate);
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    Note: for example I pass "01/01/69" and it returns to me "01/01/0069" ....

    What you want to do is use yyyy as the year. As the documentation says, Java will interpret 2 digit dates to be in the range you want. If you use yyyy, you force it to assume a valid 4 digit date. So 63 is assumed to be 0063, not 1963. yy forces it to assume the century as you wish. Here is the documentation for SimpleDateFormat:
    When parsing a date string using the abbreviated year pattern ("y" or "yy"), SimpleDateFormat must interpret the abbreviated year relative to some century. It does this by adjusting dates to be within 80 years before and 20 years after the time the SimpleDateFormat instance is created. For example, using a pattern of "MM/dd/yy" and a SimpleDateFormat instance created on Jan 1, 1997, the string "01/11/12" would be interpreted as Jan 11, 2012 while the string "05/04/64" would be interpreted as May 4, 1964. During parsing, only strings consisting of exactly two digits, as defined by Character.isDigit(char), will be parsed into the default century. Any other numeric string, such as a one digit string, a three or more digit string, or a two digit string that isn't all digits (for example, "-1"), is interpreted literally. So "01/02/3" or "01/02/003" are parsed, using the same pattern, as Jan 2, 3 AD. Likewise, "01/02/-3" is parsed as Jan 2, 4 BC.

  • IVL License and validity date

    Hello Experts,
    How do you apply an IVL license to a sales order that was placed before the validity date of the license?
    The business scenario that I have is a sales order was placed in September, and it required a license.   We applied for the license and recieved it recently and the validatity date is December 2010 thru December 2011.   The license was maintained in the system as such, but the license will not apply to the order since it was placed prior to the stated validity of the license because the document reference date that is being used is the date the order was placed.    Is there a way to account for this without having the sales rep replace the order so the document reference date is inside the validity date of the license recieved from the government?
    Regards,
    annm

    hi
    In your GTS system go to Transaction- /n/SAPSLL/LCD_CHANGE and delete the existing license from the existing order.
    Then go to transaction- /n/SAPSLL/CUHD_MR_EXP and check boxes of "Display Log" and Save Log" and execute it with order number. New license will be assigned to it but make sure you have maintained the correct license determination strategy for it.
    Thanks

  • How can I see how much data passes through my Time Capsule?

    I am thinking of using a cellular data plan at home. My current, rural internet provider is slow and unreliable. I use a MiFi as a backup and have 4G service which is much faster and rarely goes down. I need to see how much data is downloaded and uploaded to compare costs. All our data passes through my Time Capsule.

    A similar app to what Bob mentions is peakhour.. it works on any of the newer OS.
    https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/peakhour/id468946727?mt=12
    It is a good app. BUT.. fat ugly BUTT.. just the same as Bob has explained, it depends on SNMP to work.. and so due to apple removing a very useful and functional protocol from its airport range you can no longer use it. Bizarre.
    I strongly recommend a Netgear WNDR3800 (older model now but you can pick up one cheaply on ebay) and a 3rd party firmware called gargoyle. Apple delete my posts if I point you to it, so you will have to search yourself.
    Replace your tall TC with the Netgear as the main router.. bridge the TC to it and you can continue to use its wireless and for TM backups. The advantage is that gargoyle will not only measure everyones usage, by IP, it is able to set a quota on everyone using the net and you can set that quota for hourly, daily or weekly or monthly. It will track the usage and you can see at a glance what everyone has used.
    It is simple to load.. just like a standard firmware update. The interface is as clear as anyone can make it with such of lot of tools. And the actual router is powerful enough to provide excellent QoS and parental controls on top of measurements and quota.

    Hi there,
    All my reports are throwing below error in a sharepoint site configured with Access services. Does anyone have a clue what's causing it?
    An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
     Query execution failed for dataset 'Default'. (rsErrorExecutingCommand)
     The SharePoint list query is not valid: Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1. (rsSPDataProviderError)

    Hi Manvir,
    For troubleshooting your issue, please go to C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\ find your Web Application (represented by a port number), then delete an unknown folder created by sharepoint, namely vti_cnf from all the folders and sub-folders in
    your web application.

  • Vendor Hierarchy Validity Dates

    Hi
    I have a scenario where we need o create Vendor Hierarchy with past validity dates to support rebate aggrements, SAP standard will only allow you to create Vendor Hierarchy with validity date as current date.
    What is the alternative approach for this, is there any way we can maintain vendor hierarchy with historic past date as validity date.
    Appreciate your inputs on this.
    Regards
    Vickey

    Hi venkat,
                    I have worked in Territory but never encounter any mass update issue. I dont think that there is any standard API to do so. You would have to write a program/API to do so.
    Why mass update of validity dates for Territories ? I am interested to know the current Territory model at your site. When you create any terriotry then its Valid to date remains as 31.12.9999 by dafualt. As per your requirement you can create more valdiity period within this period. Had you delimit the valid to date during Terriotry creation ?

  • FM for validating date coming from a file

    HI All,
    I have to validate date that needs to be validated before passing it to DB.
    Is der any FM for same
    I tried CONVERT_DATE_TO_INTERNAL.
    But it accepts date only in one specified format.

    hi,
    try this
    Use Function module DATE_CHECK_PLAUSIBILITY to validate a date.
    1)If you given a invalidate date then it will ask you to enter a valid date.
    2)After changing it to correct value, you can click on SAVE button or if you want to continue with the invalid date then click on USE INVALID VALUE button.
    Try with this code.
    PARAMETER P_DATE TYPE SYDATUM.
    CALL FUNCTION 'DATE_CHECK_PLAUSIBILITY'
    EXPORTING
    date = P_DATE
    EXCEPTIONS
    PLAUSIBILITY_CHECK_FAILED = 1
    OTHERS = 2.
    IF sy-subrc 0.
    MESSAGE E000(ZI) WITH 'INPUT DATE IS INVALID DATE'.
    ENDIF.

  • HR Master Data IDoc HRMDa and validity date

    Hi
    I have a record in infotype 8:
    - from 01.05.2011 to 31.12.9999.
    When I use PA30, I copy this record and change the dates from 05.05.2011 to 31.12.9999. Previous record of course changes the validity dates from 01.05.2005 to 04.05.2011, and second record is created with dates from 05.05.2011 to 31.12.9999.
    The problem is with incoming IDoc. When I have the same situation as described below, instead of PA30 I use incoming IDoc. Unfortunately previous record does not get changed and I have two records both valid to 31.12.9999. I use "U" in operation in IDoc.
    What is wrong?

    Hi,
    This is due to how ALE works, please check note 134085. So basically
    system will first delete the infotype records between E1PITYP-BEGDA and
    E1PITYP-ENDDA, and then it will create the records with the information
    in segment E1Pxxxx (xxxx corresponds to the infotype number). If you
    just send information between dates 05.05.2011 to 31.12.9999, no
    record is deleted in target (so original record remains there), and just
    the new record in the IDOC (the one from 05.05.2010 to 31.12.9999)
    will be updated there. Therefore  you will finally get those two
    records in target system with same end dates.
    If you create the IDOCs using standard tools, then this should be
    done correclty.
    Regards,
    Ana

  • Validating date problem (simple issue ?)

    I am trying to validate a date using the following code:
    public boolean validateDate(String testDate) {
    try {
    SimpleDateFormat sdf = new java.text.SimpleDateFormat("mm/dd/yy");
    sdf.setLenient(false);
    java.util.Date theDate = sdf.parse(testDate);
    return true;
    catch(Exception f) {
    return false;
    No matter what I pass in the date will be formatted as the month January. For example: 5/8/02, 05/08/02 and 05/08/2002 will all format as 1/8/02. This happens to every valid date I pass in. This function is catching the exceptions of an invalid date. I have searched the newsgroups and found many posts and have compared their code with mine and there does not seem to be a problem with the code.
    If anyone can give me some insight I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Thanks bbritta - that was driving me nuts.

  • Validity Date of BOM code.

    Hi,
    I need to know the tables or the functionality which can help to find the validity date of a BOM code. I am a BW consultant and have tried tables like MAST, STAS, STPO but could not find the 'valid to date'.
    Plz guide,
    Regards,
    Saurabh Diwakar

    Dear Saurabh,
    1.IF you are using ECM - Engineering Change number for BOM Creation/Change means then the valid to
    Date can be tracked.
    2.The default valid to date for any component in a BOM will be 31.12.9999.
    3.Suppose using a Change number say for EG:500000000105,if you are deleting a Component in a BOM
    means then the same details can be obtained from the table STAS.The valid to date will be the valid from
    date of the Change number.
    4.Also check this link - [Table STAS along with Change Number|Re: Latest BOM]

  • User validity date is not refelcting in Childsystem

    Hi Experts,
    I have changed the  validity of a user in  CuA  system . But the validity is not reflecting in child system. on checking SCUL I found the error as " User type 75 is not actiive". I didnot find any issues in distributing roles and profiles for this user in CUA.only for user valdity I am reciving this error. Please advice how this error can be rectified. In SCUM the distribution parameter is global for user valdity. I need to know the root cause for this error.
    Thanks,
    Sanjeev.S

    Hi Sanjeev,
    Why dont you identify user master data that has not been changed from the central system and distribute it again where necessary.
    You can do all this from SCUL
    Look at the following SAP notes :
    632486
    First of all check if that user is existing in the child system and is active or expired:
    Some times the user might have been deleted in the backend system and you are tyring to change the validity date of the user only on  the CUA system because he exists only in the CUA box.
    I strongly think that the user record is manually deleted in the child system
    Please try to perform this action for another user who exists and see if its happening the same way.
    if it does not.
    Go to the child system and delete the user completely and recreate the user one more time in CUA and see what happens.
