Deletion of unsed scenarios in PI landscape

Dear Experts,
We need some guidance on deletion of unsed scenarios in PI.
We are using PI7.1, having 100+ scenarios in PI landscape (DEV,QAS,PROD).
We found few of them are no longer needed and we want to delete those from all the landscape of PI.
Is there any standard procedure to do this? whether we have to delete in each machine manually or the transport will work?
Please guide.
thanks and regards,
Ravi Siddam

Ravi,
*It dose not ask for change list and then we do not have anything to transport.*
>>>>>>>>>>>>> You have go to Changelist Tab there you can see them
Whenever you make changes in the IR or ID and save it, you can see them in change list. Say suppose you delete a scenario, it does appear in the change list under the username (username used to delete).
Hence when you right click on the object and delete it and you should be able to see them in change list and after activating it in the change list then the scenario is completely removed.

  • Deleting a Configuration Scenario in Dev

    Hello,
When we decide to rearchitect interfaces in PI, and are faced with deleting configuration scenarios in Development, how do those deletes "transport" up into QA and Production when there is nothing to "export" in the source system (because it was deleted?
It is not a best practice to directly change QA or Prod, so we are assuming that carrying deletes through the PI landscape must have a transport mechanism.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
If you are using File transfer mode for exporting Configuration objects, then you have a option Include Deleted Objects which you can tick and then your deleted objects will be deleted in PI QA or PRD system when you import this file in these systems.............
If you are using CTS+ for exporting objects, then when you delete your configuration scenario in ID and activate it, then you can right-click your change list having the deleted object and release it for transfer...... then a transport request will be created for it which you can import in QA or PRD system and then your configuration scenario will be deleted in your these systems.

  • How to trace if objects are deleted from a scenario

    Hi Experts,
Can you please tell me if some of my objects get deleted from my scenario how can I trace? like by which user this is done or any log is there from where we can find this one?
    Thanks
    Sugata B

Just run the scenario if you are aware of the entire process by disabling target system adapter (if needed)
then you can easily trace it out.
If you know details about mapping go to SXI_CACHE and chk there, for  objects of your scenario

  • Odi logical schema referring deleted context in scenario

    Hi,
We had a Context that was getting used by default in development. We deleted that default context and updated interfaces and regenerated scenarios to use new Context.
But logical schema is still referring to old deleted context, when scenario runs.
    Any idea?
    Thanks,
    Kshipra

The error is happening in Flow step type. Interfaces are updated to use new context.

  • Deleting an existing scenario

I have to delete an existing scenario.
If I delete the software component from SLD, could I have any problems?
I am thinking in deleting it from there and then delete every object in IR and ID.
    Is this the right way?

    Hi
I can delete anything in DEV and QA, but I cant do that in PROD.
Is this the right way? :
delete the Interface mapping, Message Mapping, Message Interface, Message Type and Data types in DEV, and then activate the changes.
    Transport this changes to QA.
    Transport from QA to PROD.
Then, enter the SWCV in edit mode and delete the namespace from it. Save and activate the SWCV.
Al last, delete the complete scenario in ID (in DEV). Then transport it to QA and finnaly transport it to PROD.
Am I wrong in any step?
All steps are correct. But you can delete namespace directly then all mappings and objects will be deleted under the namespace.
Activate the change list and transport to Q and then P

  • Deleting the old scenarios

    Hello Experts:
Is there an easy way to delete the old objects from IR and ID automatically?
I am talking about all the Name Spaces in IR and all the objects in ID (starting with Business Service, Sender and receiver agreement, Interface and Receiver determination).
Is there any job to clean all these? This is a sandbox and there are lots of objects needs to be deleted.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    N.S

    Swamy,
You have to delete manually all the objects. I think we dont have any job to delete this objects. Also we cannot delete the namespace directly. Check this weblog on how to delete this:

  • Scenario data seems to be deleted unknowingly.

    Hello,
Last week I had to make "Loacation" dimension in database-A to be identical to database-B. I deleted all the children of "Location" dimension in database-A and then copy/pasted the children from database-B.
I restructured and rebuilt the cube completely. But after a few days, I realized that database-A lost some crucial scenario data that was uploaded manually by business users a while ago.
As I am new, I am wondering, did my action ( delete chidren and copy/paste from a different cube) cause those scenarios to be deleted completely? I appreciate if you can guide me in correcting the issue.
    I appreciate your reply.
    Thanks!!

You made a backup, that was smart, you might do okay after all, lol.
So Cameron put it out there what needs to be done. Your best bet is to add the members back in the new cube and then export the data you need from the back up and load it into the new database. You can use data export calc script or if you want to do it quick, the way I would do it is to first, make another copy of your backup, just in case, call it backup2. then with backup1 I would open the outline and delete all the scenario members except the ones I needed. Save the outline, effectively deleting everything except what you need. Do a straight export from Essbase and load into the other cube.
Everyone hates that drop in their stomach when they realize they deleted something they weren't supposed to. We've all done it, the key is the backup, always remember to do the backup.

  • Deleting scenario from Integration Repository.

    Dear All,
I was having one scenario in the Dev server which was having all the objects in it like namespace, DT, MT, MI, MM & IM. After  testing now I want to delete the complete scenario from Repository. I have deleted all the objects like DT, MT, MI, MM & IM. But when I am deleting the namespace its giving me an error that delete the objects first. I am checking the objects and none of them is existing as I have already deleted them. I have even activated the scenario after deletion of the objects.
When I am deleting the namespace then its giving me an error that 2 objects are already exisitng and they will be deleted irrevocably.
Please guide me on how to delete the complete scenario fro IR.
    Regards,
    jain

    Hi nishu,
First activate the two default data types(exchane ,log) thats created during any namespace creation and then try to delete the namespace...it should be deleted now...!!!
If u still face the problem!!!
click on the namespace and chek "where-used"..then u can see ...which objects are still associated with it....after deleting activate the changelist..then...delete the namespace!!!

  • HTTP 500 Internal Server Error with Large Attachment in SOAP Scenario

    Hi,
we have implemented SOAP - XI - SOAP Scenario in our landscape (Sap Neatweaver Process Integration 7.1) .
One of the functionality of this scenario is the Upload of Documents to External Web Service through standard SOAP Attachment.
If we try to upload a small file (smaller than 20MB), task works fine and the document is correctly uploaded.
If we try to upload a larger file, we encountered in this generic error:
com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: XIAdapterFramework:GENERAL:com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/HTTP/ADAPTER.HTTP_EXCEPTION - HTTP 500 Internal Server Error
         at com.sap.aii.adapter.soap.ejb.XISOAPAdapterBean.process(XISOAPAdapterBean.java:1161)
We tried to increase timeout parameters (in communication channel and in ICM Value) but the response is the same.
We verify also if icm/HTTP/max_request_size_KB parameter was set to a value smaller than our file size limit (20MB) but is set to default value (100MB).
The problem isn't on External Web Service Layer because if we try to upload the same documents directly to that web service upload works fine, and in External Web Service's Log there aren''t any indications of this error.
So I ask you: are there any System Parameters to verify to solve this issue?
For additional, in ICM Monitor LOG we can read this WARNING when we call our service:
WARNING => IcmReadFromConn(id=53/454390): temporarily out of MPI buffers -> roll out [icxxthrio_mt 2646]
This warning may be related to the problem? If yes, how can we solve it?
    Thanks a lot,
    Marcello Ricci

    Hi ,
      Please answer my following questiosn.
    1)  which PI version are you using?
    2) How many J2EE nodes you have.
please be reminded that SOAP is not for the heavy messages. Then you need to increase your timeout parameters from BASIS.

  • How to delete CS and ID objects

    Hi
How to delete configuration scenario including all objects in ID so that it should not come back if I do reject changes in ID change List
    Thanks,
    srini

    Srinivas,
You can delete the individual objects under the configuration scenario and then delete the configuration scenario. If you think that you may use some of the objects in future then you can just remove it from the scenario. after deletion , go to activation tab and activate it , this would complete the deletion procedure. Reject chnages would bring back the deleted stuff back to scenario so don't use that.
    Hope this helps
    Thanks and Regards

  • Report RPUFIXDS deleting employee data

    Dear Experts,
I have a scenario wherein the report RPUFIXDS is deleting data for employees linked to the same CP.
    As per the standard documentation,
Personnel numbers 1 and 2 have Molga 10 (USA) and belong to the same person (CP). Therefore, certain infotypes (0002, 0006, 0009) are grouped for these personnel numbers. If data exists in these infotypes for pernr 1 but not for pernr 2, there is an inconsistency. This inconsistency is repaired by report RPUFIXDS as follows:
    1. If the personnel numbers are repaired in the sequence 1, 2, the data from the grouped infotypes of pernr 1 is copied to the grouped infotypes of pernr 2.
    2. If the personnel numbers are repaired in the sequence 2, 1, the grouped infotypes of pernr 1 are deleted.
My scenario involves a personnel being converted from a contractor to an employee wherein the contractor and employee assignments are separate, within the same country and are linked to each other via the same CP. When I try to process employee pernr which has IT0002, IT0006 and IT0009 data maintained, through the report, it should, as per the above logic, update the contractor pernr with the relevant data for the grouped infotypes. However, the report deletes the data in IT0002, IT0006 and IT0009 for the employee pernr instead of updating the contractor pernr details. I've observed many such cases wherein data is being deleted when it should actually be updated as per report logic.
I have checked the standard documentation thoroughly and notes 783499, 1822293 and 1447867 and was unable to find any information pertaining to my case.
I would be very greatful if you could shed some light on this scenario and the behaviour of the report herein.
    Thank you,
    Mayank

The note given by stuart will explain this in detail to add further, Please read the reports documentation in Se38, as it does list why it deletes the data and its no way knowing in report output to prevent BADI needs to be implemented mentioned again in reports doc check here http://scn.sap.com/thread/3326684 -  recommend solution is to implement a customer-own BADI implementation of BADI HRPA_SHARING_REPOR in order to determine the correct repair sequence (i.e. determine the leading PERNR with consistent data) and to avoid that a PERNR without data is chosen as leading PERNR You can use the BADI HRPA_SHARING_REPOR to change the sequence of personnel numbers that should be repaired by the report, ie give the preference to the contractors, we had a similar issue and did it by ordering them correctly. Hope it helps/

  • Request of suggestion for implementing XI Scenarios - Reg

    Hi Experts,,
We are new to SAP. We need to implement the following scenarios in our landscape..Please give us suggestion how to proceed further.
    Scenario 1::
There is no PI at cutomer landscape and only SAP R/3 system is present..But in our landscape PI is present. From their SAP R/3 how we can connect to our PI?
    Scenario 2::
Suppose if there is no PI and SAP R/3 and customer is only willing to give .csv file  or any flat file , from our PI  how we can pick that flat file at customer side?

    >>Scenario 1::
    >>There is no PI at cutomer landscape and only SAP R/3 system is present..But in our landscape PI is present. From their SAP >>R/3 how we can connect to our PI?
    No problem.
    1) Do ALE Configuration between Customer R/3 and your PI. Now ask customers to send idocs to PI.
    Check this link
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/7StepsForALEConfiguration
    or
2)through proxy configuration between Customers and Your PI, you can establish communication.  There are plenty of ways to connect R/3 to PI.
    >>Scenario 2::
    >>Suppose if there is no PI and SAP R/3 and customer is only willing to give .csv file or any flat file , from our PI how we can >>pick that flat file at customer side?
Create NFS at unix level and request customer to drop file over there. Configure File adapter in PI  to pick up the file. The file can be flat file or xml.

  • Deletion Shoping cart by Requester for soco shopping carts.

    hello All
    Hi all
please share your thoughts and SAP standard and best practices followed to delete the shopping cart
    Classic:-
    scenario 1:- no problem
SC created with fixed source of supply and PO created and no confirmation done.
REQUESTER could delete shopping cart at item level since REQUESTER does not require the material.
now item status turned immediately DELETED. no issues. PO set to DELETED in ECC
scenario 2:- problemSC created and without source of supply and BUYER assigned a vendor and PO created and no confirmation done.
REQUESTER could delete shopping cart at item level since REQUESTER does not require the material.
now item status turned immediately ITEM IN DELETION PROCESS rather than  DELETED. Here it is a issue.
i expect the system should show deletion  immediately at shopping cart at item level. PO set to be deleted  (PO also not set to deleted).
if BUYER manually deletes the PO in ECC,Shopping cart again venture to cockpit and again BUYER action is required to complete this request.
what is the best solution for scenario 2 and why the shopping cart status not set to DELETED (ITEM IN DELETION PROCESS I1114 ) when requester  DELETES the cart.is it a system bug. every customer expects the system should show right status .
    Muthu

    Hi Muthu,
I think if a follow-on document created for a SC the best practice is to edit the leading document rather than changing the SC..
Itu2019s better to change the PO in SRM..
    Thanks!!

  • Deleting Query Elements From Backend Tables

    Hi All,
i have made some changes to a CKF and executed the report. It got executed but when i reopened the query i am not able to expand the RKF n CKFs on the left side. Whenever i tried to expand them the query designer is exiting.
I tried deleting the query element which i modified from the backend tables using RSZDELETE but i am not able to do so as this CKF is being used in 2 more RKFs.
Could you please let me know how to delete a query element which is reusable from the backend.
    Regards,
    MK

    Hi Satyam,
I deleted the Query which was containing the CKF and RKF that i changed earlier. when i tried to delete these 2 by kFs in RSZDELETE i am not able to delete them.
    Scenario 1:
when i tried to delete the CKF 1 ..the system is displaying msg tht this is being used in RKF 1.
when i tried to delete the RKF1..then system is displaying msg tht this is being used in CKF 1.
i mean there is a circular reference which has happened b/w these two KFs.
Could you let me know how to get rid of it as i am not able to open the Query in Bex nor in RSRT.
