Delivery confirmation in sent mail

I saw in SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 FM that there are parameters to get delivery confirmation and read receipts.
Following are the parameters:
NOTIF_DEL
NOTIF_READ
NOTIF_NDEL
I am using BCS interface. How and what do I set to get a delivery confirmation of the emails sent out?
Is that really possible? I think we need to some settings in SCOT also for that (where we set that SAPConnect expects receipt confirmation for internet mail).
Thanks in adv.

Hi.
In outlook try these settings :
1.From the Oulook Tools menu, select Options (if you don't see the Options menu item, you may ahve to expand the menu window with that little double arrow that points downward).
2. In the next screen for Options, click on the Email Options button
3.In the next screen Email Options, click on the Tracking Options button.
4. In the Tracking Options screen, you have a checkmark for Delivery receipt.  Click this and all your emails you send out will give you an alert when your email server delivers them.
Moreover check in SOST, the traffic signal should be green indicating the mail was send successfully to outlook.
Thanks

  • Help!! Message Delivery confirmed, even though mail is not sent

I am working on email notifications Engine.
I am using java mail api 1.2 and smtp server to send email using .I am able to send emails when I use correct address .
Since I Also use Listeners to catch exceptions but
TransportEvent (Message Delivered) is triggered and no exceptions are being caught.
Even though I receive an undeliverable mail in my account on email server(I tried both firstClass and MS outlook Server).
Is there any setting that needs to be turned on to catch the exception.
Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong??

I have not used Internet mail to much but DrClap is correct and everyone using Internet mail for the first time seems to struggle with this same problem.
I do not know if I have a solution but here are some ideas that may help you. If you have access to the account that receives the Undeliverable Mail message, you could search through the messages (using JavaMail and filters) and parse the Undeliverable Mail messages looking for ones you have sent (or set up a dummy "From" account so that it is likely only to have the Undeliverable Mail). Using some servers you could route the Undeliverable Mail to a special e-mail address that you search through.
Having said that: the problem is when to search, how long to search for a specific message, who to notify, and what action to take. This will have to be application specific but is probably NOT trivial.
Also, it is possible that a background or batch process could be used to find the Undeliverable Mail and populate a database or file that can be search at the application startup (or whatever).
I know this is not much but I hope it helps.
I will be curious to see if there is some other (standard or at least well understood) way of doing handling this problem. My current applications which use JavaMail do not have critical messages so I am ignoring this for now.

  • How can I get a delivery confirmation for sent sms?

As far as it seems my iPhone 4 can't display any confirmation wether the receipient of my SMS got it delivered to their phone? Why was my first phone about 12 years ago able to do that but my modern iPhone isn't?
With the Messages rework including iMessage in iOS 5 I hoped to get such a function for normal SMS too but I'm frustrated you guys from Apple still didn't add that really basic and rudimentary feature.
Please add some small feature that shows "Delivered" below a SMS when my provider has delivered it to the receipients phone, like you already did for iMessage messages. If phones from the stone age can do that then it is a shame if the iPhone can't. I doubt it is much working time for you guys programming that thing.

Hrm well, you're right, it is a network feature. The lack of the automatic request should be fixed though in my opinion. I can't force any provider to add it but when it is available, then why should the device not make any use of it, at least if the user wants it explicitly?
I fear you're right too with your assumption that they'll probably never add that though. Someone already mentioned to me that the SMS has way not that importance in other countries than it has in Germany, especially for the younger generation. Our providers make most of their money not because people are using their phones for calling each other but for sending SMS to each other. Comparing iMessage with the traditional SMS is wrong in my opinion though. It is not that I wouldn't like iMessage, the idea behind it is great. The problem is, most of the people I'm texting with either have no smart phone at all or are using some Android model, so iMessage doesn't work with them and I have to use the traditional SMS system instead.
If the code for getting that confirmation is different from provider to provider, how can it be that other phone manufacturers provide that feature then? The only two possibilities are that those phones have a list of all providers of all countries in it, which I doubt because providers can change and can change their network features too but old phones weren't able to do any updates on the firmware like modern ones can do today or the other possibility would be that there is some international code or stuff too which is the same for all providers worldwide.

  • Delivery confirmation & read-receipt in Mail?

Is it possible to obtain a delivery confirmation & read-receipt in Mail?

No, it is not.  The OS X Mail application does not offer this functionality.

  • Sent email delivery confirmation

How do I set up delivery confirmation on Mac using Mail? When sending an email I want to be able to know if a person opens the mail.

Do a google search for "read receipt mac mail"
You should also note that the practice is generally frowned upon, and is dependent on whether or not the recipient wants to send the reply or not.

  • Blackberry's automatic delivery notification encourages spam mail.

To anyone who is listening, please either disable the Blackberry's automatic delivery notification, or give us Blackberry users the option to change it to manual delivery notification requiring our approval before delivery notification is sent.
Spammers harvest the email addresses and the automatic delivery notification tells them that they sent spam to a good/valid address.
My wife and I both noticed that since we started using the Blackberry, the number of spam mail has progressively increased.  Today, I discovered why.  I noticed in the sent mail log, that the Blackberry is sending out delivery notification automatically each time an email is opened/read.  A lot of times, I can't figure out if something is junk until I open up the email.  That's when the Blackberry sends delivery notification.  Sure, the spammers request delivery notification, that's how they can confirm whether their junk mail reached the intended party.  And thus, they harvested a valid email address that they use for the next spam mail.  The Blackberry makes it too easy for the spammer to validate a good delivery email address, and for mail that's being forwarded from a "disposable address" to my real address, now the spammers get to harvest my real email address when the Blackberry includes it in their delivery notification.
So please, please disable the automatic delivery notification.  Let me decide who I will send delivery notification.
    Thank you in advance!

On BIS, I don't think there is a way; on BES your BES Admin can do this.
Please also read my post above.

  • Gmail forwarding & delivery confirmations

I know this has been discussed, but I am unable to resolve the issue.  So here is the situation . . .
I have a work email address (we manage our own email system internally).  Emails sent to my work address get forwarded to my gmail account (so I can view them when I'm not at work).
I recently got a Pearl 8130 (Bell Mobility Canada) and set it up to pull messages from my gmail account.
When someone sends an email to my work address, they get a delivery confirmation (if they have confirmations turn on) from my *gmail* address.  I don't want this to happen!
My understanding of this is that when an email is sent to my work address and then gets forwarded to my gmail and then onto my BB, it is the BB server that is processing the delivery confirmation (gmail ignores them) and then the BB server sends off the delivery confirmation but it looks to the original sender like the confirmation came from my gmail account.
This is not only a nuisance, but also a privacy issue (I don't my gmail address revealed to those who send emails to my work address).
I have gone into my BB email settings and all confirmations are turned off.
While I have BIS, Bell Mobility no longer offers the web-based access to configure emails; only whatever I can do directly on my phone.
The only solution that I have read about is to set up a filter in BB/BIS/BES that catches these delivery confirmations from going out.  But I cannot find a way to do this on my Pearl.
Any suggestions here would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks.

I'm also having this same problem.
I have a GMail account as my Apple ID. And I want the services of iCloud, i.e. mail, adress book, calendar. So I had to create an iCloud ID. Now for some unknown reason any email I send from my own GMail account to my iCloud account is rejected by iCloud.
This just won't due. If I buy something from Apple.com, I want the iCloud account to get the email. But it won't because I can't consolidate the two and I can't forward Gmail to my iCloud account.
Anyone else having this problem? Is Apple working on this?

  • As a follow up to my previous question about the mail not loading, when I went to see my account to confirm my e-mail, the message was not there, I had to go to my SO S L O W acoount to answer your request

I just confirmed my e-mail account, but I had to go to my very slow AOL connection since the message you guys sent me was not visible in the body of the page, just the header

Just to say there ARE lots of Apps on BlackBerry World, so potential BB purchasers should not let that stop them, and some very good free ones, excellent -- BlackBerry Travel is really good, and OsmAnd maps are fabulous, big to download, but when you get it you'll be amazed. Just download a provincial or smaller map to start, because they are huge files and very detailed, but lots of trails and paths are on them... good for park trails and such.

  • How can I confirm my e-mail address if I can't access my e-mails, which is what my question is about.

You've just asked me to confirm my e-mail address as an e-mail will be sent to me. Since my original question was that I can't access my e-mails, how do you suppose I can confirm my e-mail address. I thought this was supposed to help me, not complicate my problems with Firefox.

It looks as though you got through somehow. I replied to your actual question here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/954553

  • How to archive "sent" mail to external hard drive

Accumulated and overload of "sent" mail and would like to archive them all  (including attachments) on my external hard drive. Would someone give me the steps to do this, as a regular archiving procedure, as done with a mailbox, did not work.  Thank you.

You can navigate to your Sent (mailbox) folder and drag and drop it to another drive.
First remember how many messages there are in the Sent folder.
Then navigate as follows to get to the folder:
    Users / yourself / Library / Mail.
At this point you will see a number of folders. Look for the one that identifies your service. Something like: POP-yourname, ....
In that folder look for Sent Messages.mbox. In there look for a folder called messages. That's where all the sent messages reside. Verify the number of messages there agrees with the number you originally noted. That is to confirm you have indeed found the correct folder.
This, like any other folder, can be copied to an external drive, or whatever.
The problem with this process is that each time you do it, you will be copying over a bunch of mails that have already been copied.
Note that all of the above is on the assumption that you are running OS 10.6.8.

  • Messages in "Sent Mail" were never actually sent.

We recently switched to Snow Leopard exchange, and switched from Microsoft Entourage to Mac Mail. Ever since the switch, I have realized that I am not getting any notifications if an email is not able to be sent.
I am normally able to send emails fine, but now and then, usually on emails with large attachments, the email never makes it to the recipient. These messages do not sit in my Outbox - they act as if they have been properly sent, and appear in my Sent Mail along with all the properly sent messages. When I was using Entourage and other email clients, I used to get a Delivery Status Notification that would let me know if a message was not able to be sent. At a minimum, it would be stuck in my Outbox so I at least knew it didn't get sent.
Is there any way for me to find out when a message was not successfully sent? This is a huge deal at my place of business, as we rely on email communication. I need to know if a message did not go through!

Hello, and welcome to the Discussions.
In order to protect against an overzealous SPAM filter somewhere in the path of the messages, you should resend one of these to someone you know did not receive. Open the message in the Sent mailbox, choose Message/Send Again from the menubar, then click on Format/Make Plain Text.
If you composed and sent in Rich Text Format, there is always a chance the RTF (which is a subset of HTML) will be deemed by a filter to be SPAM or worse, and stopped or removed. When a filter is so involved, you will not get any notice of delivery failure.

  • Delivery Receipt After Sending Mail Using JavaMail ?

    Hi Friends,
I have written an application using JavaMail which would be used to send mail
using my organisation's SMTP Server.I would like to include the following functionality in it.Just as
Microsoft's Outlook has an option to get Delivery Receipt of the mail and Read Receipt of the mail sent
(Provided the email Client supports it) i would like to have a similar option in my application to.I would like to of how i can do it using JavaMail.I heard that basically we need to set some SMTP properties which the Mail Transfer Agent would recognize and send us the Delivery and Read Receipts. But,i am not sure of what those properties. Can anyone help me regarding this ?

You might look into creating a custom header that provides a return reciept to the email address you specify. I'm not 100% sure that all mail servers support this but you might want to look into it as a solution.

  • Attachment icons not showing up in sent mail...

This is strange...running all latest software. When I sometimes go back to view a sent message to confirm that I sent a particular file to someone, the email appears as though it sent just fine and is in the sent mail folder. However, there are no longer any attachments to view. The recipient did receive the attachments, but I can't confirm what I sent!
I have another mac and that does not happen. I can view sent mail and see attachments just fine.
Does anyone know if I'm just missing a setting or something to view attachments in sent mail?
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

really nobody else has ever heard of this issue?
