Dependency item is not refreshing

Hi ,
I have created select list item assume as A with multi select YES and created another item assume B as same as A but B is dependent on A so , i have written select query in B item like
select distinct DEPT_NO D,
EMPLOYEE_NAMEr
FROM apps.EMP
where instr(NVL(:P91_DEPTNO,deptno),deptno) > 0
Item B values are not changing When i select multiple values in Item A. Please guide me how colud i acheive this requirement.
Please help me on this
Thanks in dvance..
Regards
Narender B

Hi,
The built-in cascading LOV does not work with a Multi-Select parent. It works only with single Select Items.
Multi-select items store a colon separated list of return values.
You will need to write your own DA to accomplish this requirement.
Note, even the WHERE clause in the child LoV will have to change for handling the colon separated values from the parent.
Cheers.

  • List items do not refresh correctly.

    In a form that i have developed there are two list items. I
    want among others to chenge their appearance (background color
    basicaly) according to witch one has th focus each time.
    So I've put this code on the items, in WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE
    triger:
    * LIST1
    SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('LIST1',VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'SELECTED');
    SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('LIST2',VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'GREYED');
    * LIST2
    SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('LIST2',VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'SELECTED');
    SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('LIST1',VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'GREYED');
    The Visual Attributes have the colors that i would like to
    appear on the items.
    This does not work (while it was working on Forms 5.0). It
    seems to be a refresh problem, because when you open another
    form that covers this one, or you minimize and maximize it the
    colors are assigned corectly.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Panagiotis Lygnos ,
    I am not able to produce this problem. I create one form with
    two list item ,two visual attribute & when-new-item-instance
    trigger for these two list item as you have written above.
    But List item background color of both list item is getting
    changed according to witch one has th focus each time.
    Even I tried to call this form from some other form still I am
    getting correct result.
    Can you just try by adding synchronize in the trigger of
    both list item.
    SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('LIST1',VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'SELECTED');
    SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('LIST2',VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'GREYED');
    Synchronize;
    Bye

  • LS/SQL item content not refreshed until I resave the properties of this ite

    Hi everybody.
    I have developed a page in OAS Portal containing several PL/SQL items in it. This items have procedures stored in the database, and they take the data from the database.
    The problem is that this items only take the information the first time, the rest of the times when I refresh the page, they always show the same information, they don`t refresh themselves!! The problem is because of the caching, they store the information in the OAS Portal cache and they always show the same information.
    The only way to solve it is to modify the call to the stored procedure (in the properties menu of the PL SQL item) and resave it. In this way, the next time the item will show the new information, but only for one time!!! The rest of the times the problem is always the same. i have also tried to modify the cache configuration in the page properties, but it doesn´t make anything.
    I have read several threads that deal about the same problem, but I do not have met any clear solution.
    Plase, can anybody give me some advice?.... or the solution??
    Thanks very much.
    Juan

    i have also tried to modify the cache configuration in the page properties
    Hey! I spoke about turning off Portal Cache and Web Cache!
    Portal Cache
    1. OAS EM: Portal:portal -> Portal Cache Settings -> Caching Off
    2. Restart HTTP_Server & OC4J_Portal
    Web Cache
    1. Portal: Administer -> Global Settings -> Cache -> Maximum Expiry Time 0 Minutes
    2. Maybe you need to invalidate items in cache... I forgot
    Of course, it's not the best workaround to turn off caches :-(((

  • Dynamic query built from items is not refreshing state

    Hi. I'm generating a report table using the Pl/SQL function returns SQL query report region. My region source is:
    declare
    v_tbl varchar2(500);
    v_sql varchar2(32676);
    begin
    v_tbl := v('P7_STUDENT_TBL');
    v_sql := 'select b.grade,
    b.lastname,
    b.firstname,
    b.middlename,
    b.permnum,
    a.student_attended,
    a.parent_attended,
    a.num_assoc_w_student,
    a.ea_id
    from event_attendance a right outer join ' || v_tbl || ' b
    on ( lpad(a.permnum, 12, '' '') = b.permnum
    and a.event_id = ' || v('P7_EVENT_ID') || ' )
    where b.status = '' ''
    order by b.lastname, b.firstname ';
    return v_sql;
    end;
    As you can see, the query relies on a dynamic table name and event id. These 2 items are hidden items, although i've checked them and they are correct, as is the sql query supposed to generate the report.
    It seems i have to go back and forth between the event page and this page in order for the report to "catch up" to the items (event id, table name).
    It's almost like it's cached the old report, and won't discard it and bring up the current report unless the page is repeatedly accessed. There's no place to designate the source to be "Always, replacing any existing value in session state" like other items.
    My dynamic tablename is accessing a remote database using a dblink. It's working, and shouldn't be remarkably slower, but i'm wondering why my report is not current with the items its using to generate the report?
    I hope this is clear... any ideas?

    Thanks for the reply, Scott.
    I am indeed using bind variables in my query. The page before the "event attendance" page is "events" where you can search for an event. A link for attendance is there for each event record, which passes on the event id to the event attendance page, where you are recording the attendance for that event, which is for a particular school.
    The query uses the event id and the school id in the query. The school table is dynamic, so i get the table's name from a function call. This query generates the list of students and some form elements for each student so you can record their attendance at an event.
    Now i've verified that the table name, school id, event id, and even query are correct, by creating items i can see displayed on the page with their values. And the report is correct, but it seems a step behind.
    For example, i may have an event for school 100. If i go back and select an event for school 200 to edit the attendance, my students are still from school 100. If i go back and select an event for school 300 to record attendance on, my students are from school 200. So you see, it's like the bind variables are hanging around. Yet if i look at the items (which are the same pl/sql source, but are items, not regions) they are correct.
    My item query (which shows proper substitutions) is:
    select b.grade,
    b.lastname,
    b.firstname,
    b.middlename,
    b.permnum,
    a.student_attended,
    a.parent_attended,
    a.num_assoc_w_student,
    a.ea_id
    from event_attendance a right outer join schema.school015@dblink b
    on ( lpad(a.permnum, 12, ' ') = b.permnum
    and a.event_id = 91 )
    where b.status = ' '
    order by b.lastname, b.firstname
    This item has EXACTLY the same pl/sql function returning sql source as the region, but it's an item, not a region. So what you see is the parsed query.
    And here's my debug output:

  • Splitter Problem - ALV Grid not refreshed when selected another item

    Hi Experts!!
    I have a container on screen 100 which has to be split into 3 areas. Left area ->tree, Right top area -alv grid and bottom also alv grid. I created the program without splitter and it was working fine. After I added this splitter, I see that in ALV grid, the data is not being refreshed. When double clicked on an item in tree struct, ALV grid (CL_SALV_TABLE) to be shown.. Firstly it's fine but when I double click on another item, it's not refreshing the data but is showing the same previous data.
    I have searched existing posts and implemented, but no luck.

    Hi All,
    I am still facing this problem. Can somebody please help me out?
    I created a test program wth sflight and spfli tables. Can somebody look into this and tell me where I am going wrong?
    On screen 100 i have one cust container named CC.
    When I test it, it's showing the same refresh problem. But in this test program refresh is atleast happening once.

  • Items in the block are not refreshing

    Hi,
    I am having a master screen ,in which for a particular job_name there can be "N" version_no's .
    for 1 version_no it is having around 15 items.
    i am having a second screen, which will display all the version_no's for the job_name.
    if you select a particular version_no and press view details button,it will go back to the main screen and display the details of the version.
    my problem is it's not refreshing it's holding the version details that we entered while creating.
    for ex:
    if i select only 5 items in the query in version details button also it is displaying all the version details.
    in the view_details button i am having the following code.
    declare
         v_job_name chng_cntrl_job_dtls.job_name%type;
         v_job_version_no   chng_cntrl_job_dtls.job_version_no%type;
    begin
    -- message('inside when-button-pressed');
      v_job_name := :CHNG_CNTRL_JOB_VERSIONS_VIEW.JOB_NAME;
      v_job_version_no := :CHNG_CNTRL_JOB_VERSIONS_VIEW.job_version_no;
      clear_block (no_validate);
      set_block_property( 'chng_cntrl_job_dtls', default_where, 'job_name=v_job_name and job_version_no=v_job_version_no' );
      go_block('chng_cntrl_job_dtls');

                     ,LPAD(JOB_VERSION_NO,5,'0')

    exception
         when others then
         message('exception in when-button-pressed '||sqlerrm);
    end;Please advice.

    I'm a little confused by your code sample. Why are you setting the DEFAULT_WHE RE clause of the CHNG_CNTRL_JOB_DETLS block but you never execute a query; instead, you manually query one (1) record into the block after this?
    se t_block_property( 'chng_cntrl_job_dtls', default_wher e, 'job_name=v_job_name and job_version_no=v_job_version_no' );go_block('chng_cntrl_job_dtls');
    S ELECT JOB_NAME
    >
    Let Oracle Forms do the work for you! You've s et the DEFAULT_W HERE clause of the block - now use it and simply execute a query. Try the following:
    DECLARE
       v_job_name          chng_cntrl_job_dtls.job_name%type;
       v_job_version_no   chng_cntrl_job_dtls.job_version_no%type;
    BEGIN
       -- message('inside when-button-pressed');
       v_job_name := :CHNG_CNTRL_JOB_VERSIONS_VIEW.JOB_NAME;
       v_job_version_no := :CHNG_CNTRL_JOB_VERSIONS_VIEW.job_version_no;
       clear_block (no_validate);
       se t_block_property( 'chng_cntrl_job_dtls', default_w here, 'job_name=v_job_name and job_version_no=v_job_version_no' );
       go_block('chng_cntrl_job_dtls');
       Execute_Query;
    EXCEPTION
       WHEN OTHER THEN
          message('exception in when-button-pressed '||sqlerrm);
    END;Hope this helps,

  • Discoverer 10.1.2 does not refresh new added column

    Hello,
    I need help to add a new item to EUL Business Area folder for a new added column in the database table.
    When I refresh the folder in the BA EUL, the result shows no difference between the folder and the underlying table in the database; however, when I quey the table in the database, a new column is there. The refresh of the folder in the Discoverer Admin tool cannot find the newly added column. Weird!! The first time saw this problem.
    Could someone shine some light on it? Would be really appreciate it!
    Ping

    I have a slightly different problem and can't solve it! When I refresh the EUL, the result shows the differences between the folder and the underlying tables in the database. However, it does not refresh the EUL in Discoverer Administrator 10g. Nothing happens! When I try to refresh again, the same list is shown... Does anyone know what could be happening?
    Thanks

  • Report does not refresh when link to page

    I have a report on page 1 with a column link to a report on page 2.
    The link sets items on page 2.
    If I use the 'Page in this Application' from the column link, the items on page 2 are set and the report is automatically refreshed.
    If I use the 'URL' in the column link, the items are set but the report on page 2 is not refreshed. I have more than 3 items to pass via the link so I have to use the URL. The url syntax is correct - if I click a Go button on page 2 the data refreshes fine.
    I have the same problem when clicking a tab that I have set to clear the page items - the tab clears the cache on the target page but the data in the report is not refreshed until I click the go button.
    The items on page 2 are select lists and text (always submit when enter pressed).
    How can I get the report on page 2 to auto refresh without the user having to click the Go button?

    I can't post the pages (site reasons) but here's the debug.
    All the item values are set correctly to what I want but at point 041 - I get the custom "no rows returned error". If I click the refresh button (essentially a submit with go) the date appears.
    I am now using the link set up to go to 'Page in Application' with clear cache and 3 item variables set and reset pagination ticked and the request of Go (its the same result without the request and the pagination unticked).
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Kathryn

  • Multiple Select List does not Refresh with Dynamic Action

    All,
    Scenario:
    Using APEX 4.2.2, I have a Select List page item (P4_SPONSOR) set to allow multiple values which has a dynamic LOV to populate the list.  What I would like to do is highlight the display values based on another page item's value (P4_DRIVER_ID).  When I set the source of P4_SPONSOR to static text, such as a delimited string of 1:2:3:4, any display values where the return values are equal to the static text are highlighted when the page loads.
    Problem:
    The problem lies in trying to use a query as a source for P4_SPONSOR which is filtered based on the other page item, P4_DRIVER_ID.  For instance, my SQL Query (returning colon separated values) returns the same as the static text noted above.  In the query's WHERE clause, I specify that the driver's ID is equal to P4_DRIVER_ID:
    SELECT sponsor_id
    FROM sponsors_drivers_xref
    WHERE driver_id = :P4_DRIVER_ID;
    This, as I understand it, would necessitate a refresh of P4_SPONSOR whenever the value of P4_DRIVER_ID changes.  So, I have a Dynamic Action that does just that.  When executed on the page, I can see the P4_SPONSOR multiple select list actually refresh, but none of the display values become highlighted.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks,
    -Seth.

    Seth,
    A dynamic action refresh of your select list will refresh the list of values (this is what you are seeing), it will not refresh the value of the item itself.  In fact, it will remove any values that you had already selected.  To refresh the value you will need to add additional dynamic actions.
    Create another dynamic action with:
    Event: After Refresh
    Selection Type: Item(s)
    Item(s): P4_SPONSOR
    If this was a normal select list you could just create a Set Value action and use your query to set the value of the select list.  Since this is a multiple select list your will need to get your colon delimited value first and then use some javascript to set the values of your select list.
    Create an hidden page item name P4_SPONSOR_TEMP.
    Add a true action to your new dynamic action:
    Action: Set Value
    Set Type: SQL Statement
    SQL Statement:
    SELECT sponsor_id
    FROM sponsors_drivers_xref
    WHERE driver_id = :P4_DRIVER_ID;
    Page Items to Submit: P4_DRIVER_ID
    Selection Type: Item(s)
    Item(s): P4_SPONSOR_TEMP
    Add another true action to your new dynamic action:
    Action: Set Value
    Set Type: JavaScript Expression
    JavaScript Expression:
    $("#P4_SPONSOR_TEMP").val().split(":")
    Selection Type: Item(s)
    Item(s): P4_SPONSOR

    Hi
    One way is to maintain a default profit center for the transaction in FAGL3KEH. Else depending on your plant structure, you may write a susbstitution rule as
    T Code = J1IH and Plant =X and G/L = 123221
    Profit Center =200001

  • Manual rebate condition exclusion not refreshed after redetermination of it

    Hi Experts.
    I am working with CRM 4.0.
    Lately, we realized there is an error occurring in the price deternination:
    The condition exclusion for manual rebate condition is not refreshed after redetermination of the product. There is missing a price validation before saving the document with the new product.
    Step-to-step description of the error:
    1)     I am creating an order in trx. CIC0 or CRMD_BUS2000115 and determine the product (sector A).
    2)     Now I assign a manual rebate (condition Z...) of 20 % on item level.
    3)     On header level I replace the product to one of another sector (B).
    4)     I check the pricing conditions of the new product on item level. The same rebate of 20 % is maintained.
    This is an error, because the condition exclusion for products of sector B allows rebates only until 5 %.
    Can anybody help me, please.
    Best regards,
    Cristina

  • Attribute binding value not refreshed after transaction rollback

    Hi,
    Using ADF Faces/Trinidad + ADF Data Bindings + ADF Business Components.
    I was experimenting with task flows vs transaction control vs form validation and met the following problem.
    First, here's a little intro to my application design. A page template defines the layout. There's only one page in the application using a dynamic region to show a dynamic task flow. The template defines a menu containing navigation items; each item action changes the current dynamic task flow id.
    One of the flow starts with a data bound table listing users. Each row has an edit button to navigate to an edit form. The edit form is in a separate task flow as I want the automatic rollback triggered when a flow is abandoned.
    The problem occurs when I quit the form clicking a menu item AFTER a validation error occurred. Transaction is rollbacked as expected, however when I go back to the form (whatever row I choose), the invalid value that failed the previous validation is shown.
    It seems the attribute binding is not refreshed. To validate this hypothesis, I added a button that explicitly calls refreshControl on the attribute binding as shown below. When the button is clicked, the form shows the correct value.
        // In a managed bean
        public void refreshFirstName(ActionEvent evt)
            getBindingContainer().findCtrlBinding("FirstName").refreshControl();
        }I working on a possible workaround, but I've not succeeded yet. I'm looking into using the finalizer of the task flow (or possibly the initializer) to force a refresh of the control bindings.
    Any ideas?
    Thanx!
    Olivier

    Hi,
    I am experiencing similar strange behaviour, it sounds like it could be related, i am not using task flows though.
    I have a read only table, and when a user double-clicks on a row an af:popup is displayed which displays an edit form (contentDelivery is set to "lazyUncached" in the popup). Pressing the cancel button on the edit form executes a rollback and hides the popup. However, after this has occurred, whenever another row (or the same row) is selected in the read only table, the edit form will display data from the old record that was rolled back. I've noticed that the old data is only displayed in editable fields, while the correct data is displayed in read-only fields. I'm pretty sure the rollback works properly, and the iterator is on the correct row, just it is displaying incorrect data in the editable text fields. I've tried implementing cancel functionality with both a rollback action and refreshing the row using REFRESH_WITH_DB_FORGET_CHANGES, but the same issue exists regardless of which method is used. I've also noticed that the application starts behaving correctly again if the commit button is pressed.
    Has anyone come up with a workaround for this issue?
    By the way, is there any way we can keep track of the bug numbers that are mentioned in this forum?
    Thanks,
    Michael.

  • Master page is not refreshing

    Hi,
    We are using JDeveloper/JHeadStart - 10.1.3.5.0/10.1.3.3.88
    On master page, we have the following - Text input fields and one drop-down list.
    On LOV page, we have the following Search values - Two text input fields and one drop-down list.
    We have used ADF LOV in our project. We have used the Advance Search method to find.
    As per the requirement, we have to disable the master page till user didn't find the value on LOV page.
    To achieve above, we have set the value in SessionScope on Find Button of LOV page and checking the value on master page.
    When we are opening the LOV from master page and after Find if we are clicking the Add New button(custom button) on LOV, it is not refreshing the master page and master page remains in the read-only mode due to this we are not able to update the value. After refreshing the master page it is coming in editable-mode.
    Expected result - The master page should come in editable-mode after clicking the Add New button(custom button) on LOV page.
    Actual result - The master page is coming in read-only mode after clicking the Add New button(custom button) on LOV page.
    Thanks for your support.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
    Master page means the page from which the LOV page is opening. Master page means the parent page from which we are opening the LOV(popup) page.
    On LOV(popup) page, we have a command button(FIND), on which we have set the setActionListener tag.
    Eg. <af:setActionListener from="#{'Y'}" to="#{sessionScope.find}"/>
    Depending on this value, on parent page we are enabling/disabling the fields.
    On LOV page, when we are pressing the "Add New" button(custom button), it is closing the LOV page but on parent page it is not updating the fields(i.e. editable mode). If we refresh the page, then the parent page appears in editale mode.

  • Swing problem: table is not refreshed when i open it  from jdialog

    Hi , my situation is this one :
    1. i have a swing form.
    2. i have created a panel form where i have a drop down list and a table. wich are depndend with each other. When i choose an item to the drop down list the value in the table is changed.
    3. i invoke this panel into the form with drag and drop, with invoke jDialog from button option.
    4. First time i run the form and open the panel from button the drop down list and the table are working correctly.
    5. i close the panel and open it again: And at this time when i choose an item from drop down list the table is not refreshed anymore. I have to run the form again if i want that this panel to work correctly.
    Am i doing smth wrong? I dont have too much experience in swing , and the documentation for adf-swign are really poor .
    Ps: Maybe i should explain the way i have created the drop down list and table in the panel . i am not using smth like execute with parameters for the view in the table. I have created a link between the view in the drop down list and the view in the table. It seems they work correcly if i run the panel for the first time.
    Thanks in advance !
