Dependent Dynamic LOV lists in a table format

I have a screen where the user can enter multiple rows into a tabular layout.
Three columns have LOV's where the selection in the first LOV should restrict the list in the Second LOV which will restrict the list in the third LOV. I think I could manage it if it were a single row of data being captured, but how does one reference the previous fields selection in the next field when using multiple table rows.
I have a db table which I think can drive the process, but I'm not familiar with the method in which to handle it.
Table: id, LOV-1 -value, LOV-2 value, LOV-3 value
So when user selects from LOV-1, only those LOV-2 values associated with LOV-1 that the user selected should be listed. And then LOV-3 values associated with LOV-2 selection should only be listed.
Can someone offer some insight or point me to an example?
Thanks
Tony

Has anyone been able to implement a series of dependent LOV's in a tabular report which is updateable?
I have a collection which I update 'onchange' if an LOV column is updated to retain the new value. I still have the issue of referencing the 'correct rows' previous LOV value to limit the next LOV's selection list.
Any suggestions on how to reference the previous column's value for the current row?
Desired process flow:
1 .user selects value 2 from LOV 1 [row 1]
-onchange, trigger submit of form back to itself updating the collection.
2. provide LOV 2 [row 1] with limited list of values based on selection in LOV 1 [row 1]
-onchange, trigger submit of form back to itself updating the collection with values of
row 1's LOV 1 and LOV 2
3. provide LOV 3 [row 1] with limited list of values based on selection in row 1's LOV 1 and LOV 2
Is there away to change the dependent list of values using a javascript function? Such as repopulate the LOV?
Help?

  • DYNAMIC LOV (list of value)

    Hi all,
    I have created a dynamic LOV using the sql statement:
    Select product_name A, product_code B from product.
    Can I make this LOV more dynamic by putting where conditions?
    For example:
    Select product_name A, product_code B from product where status = &STATUS
    &STATUS is a value from a given field as entered in a current form page.
    Is this possible? or are there other ways to to this?
    Thanks

    wow thats great sunil : )
    Can I also reference the value of P7_ITEM_NAME in anotheR item name like P7_COMMISSION?
    For example: I have two (2) item names: P7_SALARY and P7_COMMISSION
    P7_COMMISSION is computed as :P7_SALARY * 0.10
    So I do not have to enter value in the item name P7_COMMISSION as it is derived from P7_SALARY.
    Is this possible? if not why does LOV able to access it ; )
    Thanks a lot

  • Populate the links from a list in a table format and navigate to the target when on clicked

    hi,
     i want to read a list and few columns and in that one column is a hyperlink column and i want to show as a grid-table- kind of format and when on clicked , i want to navigate to the target.
    whats the best approach for this.
    i know, i can create a   repeater/ gridview and on click of the row databound event in my visual web part i can navigate to the target.
    but, is this possible with the help of OOTB features of  SP 2013? as i dont want to create  a  VWP, and a feature and included in the wsp!
    help is appreciated!

    When you will create the site collection, you can programmatially do the followings:
    Create your custom view for your list (with only selected columns)
    Add a list view webpart in a page, and configure the list view webpart to point to the custom view you have created earlier.
    Also set the JSLink of the list view webpart.
    So whatever, you can do in SharePoint UI, can be done programmatically... And with a single JS file, in future you can change the list-view styles/logic just by JSLink file. Also with list view, you will get the default functionalities - like sorting, filtering
    etc., if you needed
    So if you would like to utilize SharePoint list view features with minor changes in styles/behaviour, list view approach will be better. But if you are looking for totally new looks and styles, then you better go for your own implementation. But from my
    experience, users will look for same behaviour as they see in SharePoint list/libraries.
    Thanks,

  • How to incorporate dependent LOV in an Advanced Table

    Hi,
    I have an "Advanced Table". Two columns are LOV columns.
    Eg.
    In the first column I have an DeptLOV and second column has EmployeenameLOV.
    In first Column DeptLOV I choose say Deptno 10 and it should filter and list only the names of the employees in the second column EmployeenameLOV it should list only the employees of Departnumber 10 and I should be able to pick one employeename from EmployeeNameLOV.
    I should be able to choose different Dept number and corresponding employee name in LOV different in each row.
    Thanks in advance.
    Lacman

    Thanks for you reply.
    But the issue is the dependent LOV inside an advanced table as described in my earlier post.
    Advanced table with dependent LOVs
    . c1 c2
    r1
    r2
    r3
    If an end user clicks on r1c1 LOV. He should be allowed only to click on r1c2. If clicks on r1c1 and directly clicks r2c2 he should not be allowed.
    How to accomplish this in an Advanced table in which the second column LOV is dependent on the first LOV.

    Laxman

  • How to use LOV on a derived table dependent on a prompt for Webi web intelligence view.

    The semantic layer has not created a defined LOV for the derived table.   This only happens when pulling columns from derived table which depends on a prompt for unique selection.  When pulling from derived table that does not depend on a date prompt does not have an issue in Webi.
    I don't know if this is a universe design issue or WEBI.
    Webi Rich internet application   selects the date prompt first but if click on Storeno in List it returns a LOV with auto refresh.
    Webi Web Intelligence returns  List of Values for current prompt requires values for following prompts:   and when you click to refresh  webi responds with 'undefined'

    Hi…
    Can you check Prompt : Store No is created at universe level and defined the syntax correctly
    @Prompt(1,2,3,4,5)  insert a prompts in SQL. When the user runs the query, the user is prompted to enter a value for a refresh each time.
    1 = 'Prompt Text Message'
    2 = 'Prompt Type'  (i.e. A,N,D,U)
    where A= Character, N= Number, D= Date, U= Unit.
    3 = 'Class Name/ Object Name'
    4 = 'Multi/ Mono'
    Multi means Multiple ( Example = 2004,2005,2011)
    Mono means Single ( Example = 2012)
    5 = Free/Constrain (Type value or select value in LOV/ Select Value)
    Example for creating a @prompt filter is below
    @Prompt('enter year','A','time period/year', Multi', Free)
    Pointer to a “List of Values” from an existing universe object. You invoke the target list of values by double-clicking on the object contain ing the list of values that you want to use in the "Classes and Objects" panel. This gives the Class name and the Object name, separate ed by a backslash. It must be enclosed in single quotes. For example: 'Client\Country'. When you are using “Index Awareness”, and you want to return the key values for an object,set the 5th value to primary_key
    • Hard-coded list of single values or value pairs. The values in a pair are separated by a colon. Each value is enclosed in single quotes. The pairs of values are separated by a comma. The whole list is enclosed in curly brackets. Set the constraint to primary_key

  • Dynamic lov, Select List in Report

    Hi all,
    I have searched the APEX forum for dynamic lov but somehow no topic could really solve my problem.
    I have a report and 2 columns in this report are displayed as a select list. I want one of the select list show some values depending on the other select list in this report. If the value of the first select list is equal to some data the second select list should show a lov and otherwise nothing.
    All examples i have found so far seem to explain a solution for a select list item on the page and not for a select list in a report like in my case.
    Are there any advices or some links you can give?
    Thanks in advance

  • Popup list manager and dynamic LOV

    I'm stumped, stuck and thought I was doing something simple. Here's what I have:
    1) Checkbox dynamically built (P3_CHECKBOX)
    2) A hidden field to store the checkbox values (P3_CHECKED)
    3) A popup list manager based on the hidden field.
    I am using JavaScript to populate the P3_CHECKED whenever P3_CHECKBOX is changed. However, my dynamic LOV based on the hidden field always returns no rows. The SQL for the LOV is:
    select application_role, role
    from roles_view
    where '%'||application||'%' LIKE to_char(:P3_CHECKED) order by 1
    Am I missing something simple? I know the hidden field is getting populated because if I change to field to text, I see the data change. There is also data in the table because executing the query using the data in P3_CHECKED returns the expected rows.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Mike

    Mike,
    The lov query accesses the value of P3_CHECKED from session state. That isn't stored in session state until the page is submitted.

  • Flex Table Add Row Issue with Dynamic Entry Lists in Visual Composer

    All,
    Your help would be kindly appreciated in resolving an 'Add Row'-issue within a Flex Table that uses Dynamic Entry Lists in Visual Composer. The issue here is as follows :
    When I use a [Local Dynamic Entry List |http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=O5hrG2aMxWZ84Mu1211193041]to populate a row field, the initial row and all next rows are emptied upon 'insert row', they loose their selected values and also the entry list values ('pull-down menus') are lost. Please also see [screenshot|http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=FPLr2cABcgiHRou1211192889].
    The initial row does [show the entry list values |http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=2HybmEHAuQYs9cg1211192766]from the Local Dynamic Entry List based on the dynamically assigned input value; upon 'insert row' the entry lists are lost. Please also see [screenshot|http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=FPLr2cABcgiHRou1211192889].
    When using a [Global Dynamic Entry List |http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=m5p2KYuBb442dTq1211193501]to populate the row fields the Flex-table behaves normally as expected. Unfortunately with a Global Entry List it is not possible to dynamically assign a input value. Please also see [screenshot|http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=U96V0zENCCyO3gA1211193157].
    Please also see the [issue summary image|http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=06xti08tIEfely1211195178] I made to visualize the issue.  What I basically would like to know is whether this is a 'known issue' or not, or that it is an issue that can be fixed or whether there is an alternative workaround available ... I'm using Visual Composer 7.0 and the Portal is at SP 13.
    Many thanks,

    you should be able to assign a dynamic value with global entry lists as well. If you say @myParam as dynamic value. VC will indicate in red letters, that the field @myParam is unknown. However, it will work, as long as @myParam is known in the form or table where you use the entry list.
    I have never heard of the problem that entry lists are emptied after "insert"-event.

  • How to display 'List' of objects in table format

    I am trying to display bunch of records in the table format.
    I have the List of bean object populated with table datas.
    Currently the code is working fine ,if I tend to display one record.I am wondering how to display all the records.
    I know theres a 'Fieldloop'.If thats the one please explain with example.

    iterate the object list using field loop. eg. is given below
    [      <Field name='MatchTable'>
    <Display class='SimpleTable'>
    <Property name='columns'>
    <List>
    <String>title</String>
    </List>
    </Property>
    </Display>
         <FieldLoop for='name' in='userlist'>
    <Field name='username'>
    <Display class='Label'>
    <Property name='labels'>
    <ref>name</ref>
    </Property>
    </Display>
    </Field>
         <FieldLoop>
         </Field>

  • Flex Table Add Row Issue with Dynamic Entry Lists

    All,
    Your help would be kindly appreciated in resolving an 'Add Row'-issue within a Flex Table that uses Dynamic Entry Lists in Visual Composer.
    Many thanks,
    Freek

  • Dynamic entry list used in a table column

    On a form, we noticed a dynamic entry list will limit which values a user may enter by validating against the entry list values.  We need to have the same validation occur when a dynamic entry list is used in a table column. Has anyone had success in getting the dynamic entry list to validate the cell values in a table column?

    Hey Dan,
    You are right.... Its a bug... we are also using VC CE 7.1 SP 05....
    When I try in form (with combo box) its working fine...I mean its giving error saying "Character string "4" does not exist in the allowed set of values and its not forwarding any values...
    but when I use it in table, its not giving any error.
    I saw some demos where it was working fine... but those are older sp versions of CE 7.1...
    Try to contact SAP VC team on this....

    Hi,
    Sorry, we do not support a matrix-question field.   Please try the multilines text field (where your participant can enter multiple lines in the input text box) and see if it works for you.

  • Asset acqusiton list - table format display

    Dear Asset experts,
    can you please advise how to get list of Asset acquistion (report S_ALR_87012050 - RAZUGA_ALV01) to ALV format?
    There is only a hierarchical view which is difficult to export to xls table format.
    When I click "ALV format" in selection screen got message "Use of ALV grid not supported for hierarchical lists!
    Message no. AB063"
    Or there might be another non-hierarch. report for asset acquistion for AuC? (AuC/value/Inves.order/tr.type)
    thank you for your effort

    Hello Pavel,
    With regard to your question a few years ago, you could modify the view output ALV?
